The chai tea latte was decent, a little watered down and light in flavor but not bad by any means. Then came their mocha, revolting would be the best way to describe it. One sip and I damn near threw up the delicious banana bread. I tried to choke it down, 3 others tasted it at my table and all of us agreed this recipe needs to be thrown out. It was so disappointing because the ambiance is great, the lattes look amazing, but the flavor was so off I didn't even know how to ask to fix it. Their Chula Vista location says permanently closed. And this location says temporarily closed. I doubt it's temporary. The garlic sourdough loaf was made with roasted garlic. Some of the best bread I've ever tasted. That with the chicken liver, pork & pistachio pate (when I got home) was truly delicious. On to the main course. The pasta was nice and al dente. Roasted vegs were yummy and the garlic sauce was delicious. The beef was nice and tender and well seasoned. Noticed too late. - few hours later the bread was so hard that it is clearly not a fresh made bread. Fresh bread of the day does not harden that much in just few hours. I hope French Oven will pay more attention because it used to be better. Looking forward to that quality baguette again.
