Everything was delicious. We called ahead to see how long the wait was as I had my newborn with me that isn't terribly patient and it was chilly. They were so, so sweet and offered to save us a table. Unfortunately that is rare anymore, to have such wonderful customer service. When we arrived they welcomed us and everyone there was so friendly. The food was phenomenal. I had the pimento grilled cheese and it was the lightest, tastiest pimento cheese. My mother loved her chicken salad and we both enjoyed they creamy chicken veggie soup. Dessert was an amazing peanut butter mousse pie that we split. Wow- Jasper has come a long way! Just near the Piggly Wiggly you'll find this place with pure excellence in its dishes. It has a fine dining feel without feeling uptight. For the quality, you'll see the prices are fair compared to the big City. I had the best dinner there ever (see pics). If you're looking for a unique experience, this is it. Farm-to-table freshness in Southern dishes and they def. win my award for Best grits in all of Atlanta. Don't let the exterior or the sleepy downtown fool you. A surprisingly wonderful spot on Main Street. I was expecting a diner but instead discovered Diner 2.0. Though there are some classic diner options on the menu, everything has been kicked up a notch. Soups, salads, sandwiches, yes. But instead of chicken noodle soup and grilled cheese on whit bread, you will find watermelon and green tomato gazpacho topped with feta cheese and pimento grilled cheese on rye. Instead of florescent lights, dirty linoleum floors, and vinyl booths, you will find wood floors, and dim lighting. They have a good selection of craft beers on draft as well as lots of wine choices. They are somehow are able to do all of this with diner prices. My soup and sandwich was 7 bucks. With my iced tea, I was out the door fully satisfied for less than 13 dollars including tip. Highly recommended! And by the way, the soup still comes with the requisite packet of saltine crackers and dill pickle. read more

I stopped by Jasper, Georgia to get brunch and was impressed by this place. The decor was simple and nice. The food was very affordable. The presentation and quality of food was amazing. I ordered the quiche on the menu which came with corn bread and grits ( I had a choice of bacon, sausage, or grits). The quiche was the best quiche ever. The corn bread was so moist and melt in your mouth good. I also tried the mocha chocolate and vanilla cream brûlée, not too sweet, enjoyed that after apple picking. :) I will definitely come back again. It was worth the drive! read more

We came to find this cute little place on our way to blue ridge. My family and I were starving and hadn't eaten anything since we left Florida. Thanks to Yelp we found this quaint spot. I had the quiche which was Zucchini, tomatoes, oyster mushrooms, & gouda cheese for 8 bucks and was amazing!!!!! So fresh! My husband and daughter had the Savory Breakfast which was Grit, tomato, & cheddar soufflé with a sausage gravy, red potato wedges, & farm egg scramble and only 8 bucks. 61 Main Catered our wedding and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! The head chef worked closely with us to make a custom vegetarian menu that completely blew us and our guests away. It's the number one compliment we get and one guest loved it so much that they went to the restaurant in person the next day just to try more of their food! 61 Main violated my BIGGEST pet peeve with restaurants - modifying/increasing the tip and, ultimately, the total bill that was authorized with my signature. I don't know why restaurants think they can get away with STEALING your money like that. When you sign a credit card receipt you are authorizing the total amount that you designate - NOT whatever total they want to make it. The tip was already a generous 19% tip. Not sure why they thought it was okay to increase the tip even more. We made a special 1 hr drive from Kennesaw up to Jasper on Saturday, March 25 to try this place out. We had a reservation for 7:15 PM, arrived a little early and, to our surprise, we were seated almost immediately. So far so good. The service was great and they had a special spring menu with featured cocktails and entrees designed by their staff. The food was actually really good and, overall, we enjoyed our dining experience. As I was reviewing my credit card account and reconciling against my receipts earlier this evening (Thursday, March 30 - not even a full week after our dining experience), I noticed that cleared charge amount was higher than I had approved on the receipt. When I noticed the discrepancy I immediately called the restaurant (Thursday @ 8:45 PM) only to discover that I had to leave a voice message because they are only open for dinner on the weekends. We'll see if they call back to resolve the issue. If they do not resolve the issue properly I will dispute the entire credit card transaction and will never revisit the restaurant even though the food and service was really good. IT IS FUNDAMENTALLY WRONG AND ILLEGAL TO CHANGE THE TIP AMOUNT/TOTAL CHARGE ON A SIGNED CREDIT CARD RECEIPT! read more

The only real restaurant in Jasper it feels like lol. The lunch menu is mostly sandwiches and salads which is fine because they are good. I had the club with fries and it was good, nothing you couldn't make at home but I wasn't too daring. My friend had a salad with the bacon dressing and loved it. The soup of the day was a beef and white bean soup and it was amazing. Our server was very pleasant and for a moment you forget you're in jasper Georgia lol. And the meal was less than $13! I didn't get to try the dessert but it looked amazing. I'm sure I'll never be back in Jasper but if you are definitely give this place a try. read more

Such NPWH! After swiftly getting up to Jasper after a great lunch in Atlanta, on the "mountain part" of our weekend getaway, we checked into the sweet Woodbridge Inn and C took me on a *tour* of Jasper - I phrase it that way because Jasper is tiny. Charming, but tiny like...I am not even sure what because I don't think I've been to a town, mountains or otherwise, that has one Main Street that is actually about half of what I'd consider a full, long street, and with such old school storefronts and signage that I felt like I was in another century! It was a fun change for this city girl! C still has a house there and is very familiar with the goings-on in Jasper and Pickens County. One of the places he used to eat often when he lived here full time and commuted to Atlanta was 61 Main. After he had me peruse the menu at the Woodbridge Inn Restaurant and 61 Main's, we settled on the latter. Good thing we checked it out beforehand and thought to call about 7 to see how late they were open (somehow it was the city girl who thought to do this...) - they actually close at 8:30pm. On Saturday!! (That's in winter, ok, but in summer - it's 9pm! Sometimes that's when places in Atlanta are just getting going!). So call we did and they were pleased to assure us a table for 8pm and that we wouldn't be rushed out at "closing." The decor is interesting; we decided that the place, while all of it is nice, has kind of a split personality - if you pulled a curtain down the center of the restaurant, with your back to the front, your left side looks like a kind of dressed-up diner, with mild teal colored diner-esque booths lining a brick wall with prints of local animals and veggies and farm equipment (yes, one picture was of a hoe!), going along with their farm-to-table focus. On your right, there are black leather booths with super high (and comfy- we sat on this side and I took the booth side as usual) backs and the paintings on that wall are more modern-ish and color schemed to flow with the black and brick...in the middle on both "sides" are wooden table four-tops. As for the service, Maggie was lovely. One thing about "small towns" is that you pretty much find nice people everywhere! The food was great. C has always liked this place and I was looking forward to trying it. The mushroom appetizer - sauteed mushrooms with a little spinach, tomato and this yummy little triangled polenta cake- was absolutely wonderful. I stopped myself from eating more so I could have room for the rest! You get a soup, salad or side with your entree and he picked the delicious tomato bisque (I tried a bite and it is definitely one of my faves of that soup!) and I got a simple house salad with (a very good) vinaigrette. He had the pick of the night, the seared grouper, with the lime grits (we were a little skeptical, never having had grits "with lime" before but they are great, not sweet, just a hint of citrus, plus garlic and s&p) and beets. I first went with the panko fried chicken, subbed the grits in, and parsnips; bernaise sauce on the side. It was ok, as far as the chicken - not bad, but not good, and definitely just enough on the dry side that it wasn't a great order; I also thought the sauce wasn't quite a typical bernaise (too sweet). He tried it too and agreed, and despite my protestations about getting something else (I honestly wasn't sure i was hungry enough and this wasn't a bad dish, really) he swiftly and politely talked to the manager and my chicken was gone and a grouper was on the way. I had tried to say I couldn't eat all that but, I almost did...The staff was super sweet about the replacement and all that. The desserts looked great- I fleetingly considered the chocolate creme brulee - but we had enjoyed plenty, and of course had that long drive down Main St back to the hotel! My 5 star review is for dinner. i still frequent at lunch and it's good- but dinner is FANTASTIC! Elegant, upscale, delicious. So many good things to say. We split a couple of apps, a main course, and a dessert. The menu changes seasonally. We had the sweet potato rounds. They were great, and so much better than the other ones we had tried recently. I LOVE rosemary though. We also had Mary's Grain Bread- it had truffle oil (you should always, always, always order whatever on the menu has truffle oil), ricotta, prosciutto, and balsamic. It rocked my world. I thought about heaven. I had the Scallops with goat cheese grits. I think Scallops are hard to do well, but they were perfect and grits should forever be done with goat cheese. A random waiter came by and joked that we weren't messing around. He said the apps we ordered were his favorite. We had carrot cake for dessert. It was great. I like my frosting a bit sweeter, but if you don't then you would be pleased. The mister thought it was perfect. read more

This is our favorite place to eat in Jasper by far! The most awesome thing about 61 Main is that almost everything that they serve comes from local growers. Last week I had the striped bass that was caught locally and it was out of this world! The grits are even from a local farm and is one of my favorite things on the menu! Wonderful desserts and locally roasted coffee too. Monday night supper is a price fixed menu which includes entree, side, dessert and beverage for $12! The only bad thing I can say about this place is that they are closed Sunday nights! The chef here is clearly talented as is reflected in the creative entrees and eclectic menu.
