Excellent!!! We stopped in for a late lunch and were so surprised to find such a lovely and delicious place. Had the salad special and the special side - squash and zucchini. Wow - both were fantastic-flavor and fresh. My husband had Drew's Italian sandwich on ciabatta bread which he really liked along with the potato salad. Attractive presentation and reasonable prices - my special was $9 including the side and drink!!! Wanted dessert, but was pleasantly full and it was late in the day. I grew up in Jasper, and still visit periodically. It's very rare to find a good restaurant in this small town, though my parents continually raved about this place, so I tried it tonight! The sweet potato spiral chips with kalamata olive spread and fried oysters hit the spot! The vegetables were so well seasoned, I could've just ordered the vegetable plate over any of the other dishes. The smoked trout was also lovely, and the service is decent. The peanut butter mousse pie and chocolate cake were made in house. My sweet tooth was completely satisfied with the sweet richness of both desserts! read more

Stopped for lunch. Had the half salad (Waldorf) and half sandwich (chicken salad). Waitress was excellent. Salad was not the usual Waldorf salad with apples, celery, and Mayo.... it was a combination of delicious mixed lettuces, apples , nuts, Gorgonzola, craisins and a great balsamic dressing on the side. Delicious! The half sandwich was actually a small croissant with excellent chicken salad. I would get it again. Will return when I'm in the area. read more

One of the best little local dining establishments Jasper has the offer. With the husband and wife team that executes a delicious menu. Fresh produce and other items used or source from local farmers in the area. And you can tell the difference. Very cozy, service is top notch where as they're very friendly but not overbearing you're hovering around the table. Which allows for a great dining experience. I would recommend their Monday night menu. Which is a prefix menu... The last time I visited I had the shepherds pie which was outstanding. As a professional chef, to see a restaurant that uses local ingredients and get back to the community, along with creating delicious meals, warms my heart. Wow. The food here was superb. Menu is small soups, sandwiches and salads. By far the best club and shoe string fries I have ever had in 46 years. Pleasantly surprised by this amazing find. We've only been to 61 Main for lunch. The food is consistently delicious here and the staff is courteous. Prices are reasonable as well. I recommend the fried green tomato BLT & any of the soups. For a small town, this is a stellar offering! Local, sustainable, farm to table food, cooked to perfection. We had a selection of appetizers and couldn't fault any of them. The chicken meatballs were especially tasty. Everything seemed fresh and cooked to order, and the service was so friendly! Definitely try the pimiento cheese and the sweet potato/yuca duo! If you love the fresh, locally sourced, and wonderful tasting meals, you have to try 61 Main. Absolutely the best chicken salad anywhere, and their fried green BLT sandwich is to die for! I'm pretty sure they use baby angel tears to make their grits for their Saturday brunch. Just an amazing place all around, and a wonderful and friendly staff. I love the support that they give to the community as well, helping the optimist club to serve Pickens County youth, and catering around town. I cannot recommend this restaurant any better! We recently needed a location in Jasper, GA to hold a rehearsal dinner. I knew nothing about the area, but got online, and found 61 Main. I inquired about the facility. Since we were looking at a Saturday night, the place was available for us to rent for a private function. My husband and I met with Rob, on his day off, for him to show us the property, and discuss the possibilities. Since they are farm to table, we had to wait a little before finalizing the menu, but OHHHHH.... was it worth it!!! Our whole group LOVED the experience. The food was some of the best we ever had. We chose a brisket or a parchment baked trout as the choices for our guests. The meal came with a fresh salad, and and orzo/veggie medley that was wildly acclaimed by all our guests. The people at my table were tasting each others' meals, and raving! The chef personally greeted us at the beginning of the evening, and our serving staff, Megan and Kasey, (sp?) could not have been more genial and accommodating! The next day, at the wedding, people were still raving about the rehearsal dinner! Oh.. by the way... did I mention dessert table??? Peanut Butter Pie and Carrot cake... OH MY Goodness! So worth the calories! Since I don't live in or near Jasper, I've never been to the restaurant during normal hours, but I'd go in a heartbeat. Don't pass out 4 stars often but the food was very good. We had several entrées, fish, beef, seafood, but the item I enjoyed most was the Pimento cheese app. I did feel the service was a little slack, empty glasses lingered on the table, water refills, lack of silverware being replaced after courses, the server we had just didn't stop by enough. Again, the food is the best you'll find in the area. You'd have to drive to Atlanta to find better, but when you drop $175 for dinner service is every bit as important as the food quality. What a great little find on my travel route. This place is nestled right in the downtown area and easy to find. It is neat and clean very quaint. I grabbed a sandwich here on my way out of town. It was super yummy and I wish that I had the opportunity to try brunch or a cocktail! the menu is small, but focuses on taste and local food. Casey was quite helpful with tips to pass time in Atlanta before my late flight since I had 10 hours to kill in Atlanta. I can also say the staff seems happy here!
