I've been wanting to get cameras at my home since moving here a bit over a year ago. I don't even remember how I stumbled upon 606 installs but it was lucky. Another company I had spoken with had quoted me more than twice the price, I guess because the cameras they use are fancy or something? I don't know, because the ones Ernesto installed are great and doing precisely what I wanted. When I was on my search for home security cameras, I kept mostly finding things like ADT, SimpliSafe, or something else that was largely about selling you the monitoring plan; the equipment I think was less expensive but then you're paying for the monitoring. I am not generally a fan of the everything-is-now-a-subscription-or-service thing nor do I want to be beholden to whatever rates a company decides to charge. Some of those also were self-install options, which didn't interest me at all. They hooked up several cameras at our home to provide various views, including the basement since I wanted to be able to see what's happening down there when I'm upstairs. The system has a hard drive that can support up to eight cameras. We can save photos, videos, and also play back to see what happened earlier in the recording on the various cameras. Although they could have provided a monitor, we don't really have a place for it so we simply have an app on our phone through which we can view the cameras. I'm not sure why, but I thought it would go much more quickly than it did. I have no frame of reference to know how long it should have taken so that's not a criticism. It took about six hours total but having it done well was the most important part. I would highly the crew at 606 installs for their professionalism, reasonable rate, and excellent work. read more

I requested an outside speaker replacement. I had purchased the speakers and didn't want to climb a ladder two stories to hang them. I requested a quote and was given a fair price. They sent out an awesome employee who removed the old speakers and replaced with my new ones in less than an hour. Everything worked and I couldn't be happier. I wished I could have had a better experience. I had an appointment between 9 - 9:30am with Mike. Did not show nor call. 11:30am he called, asking could he still come. The answer was no. He came the next day. Mike texted me a quote for 5 cameras for $1850. A doorbell camera for $199 plus $100 for installation. Then, He came to my home, sat at my table and drew an illustration of placement for each camera. 5 paid cameras - one doorbell camera and 2 free cameras for the garage. That price was $1900. I requested a contract for the $1900. Well, he texted me a different doorbell camera with a cost of $1,000. I told him I could not do it. He emailed a contract for $1900 without a doorbell camera that was included in the quote. Told me he could not take it off unless I pay $1900 cash. WHAT!!!! Of course I did not accept the offer. Recently I moved to Chicago from out of state. A well-meaning suburbanite relative who watches too much TV news is convinced my house will be burglarized three times a week (because Chicago), which is how I ended up with an CCTV surveillance system from a big box store as a house warming gift. Mildly creepy, but it can't hurt, right? The only problem is, it has to be installed. Installation involves running wires and cables behind walls and mounting cameras many feet off the ground. I can barely slap together a bookshelf from Ikea, so running cables is way, way, way, way beyond my capabilities. Enter 606 Installs. I originally called HD Installs based on their yelp reviews and they told me they wouldn't be able to install this particular system. They gave me Michael's name and number and said he'd take care of me. And he totally did. Michael immediately responded to my phone call and was at my house that evening to check out the property and the cameras. He was back two days later and by the end of the day, everything was installed perfectly. He is a very fastidious worker and stayed well after dark to make sure the cameras were each placed correctly and to clean up any dust or debris created from drilling, etc. And the price was very fair. After seeing the amount of work he did, and the skills and equipment it takes to install a system like that, I was more than happy to pay what he charged. This was my first security system I was inquiring about for my ranch style home on the northwest side. Mike is a great guy came in and designed a system for me with a quote. His team came in and installed the security system even piping in the wiring down the side of my house so nobody can cut it. Now I can monitor my cameras from my phone and a dvr setup in my house. Really don't even know where to begin. These guys are GREAT! I was 18 minutes late for a 6:30 Monday night appointment, not only did they wait for me (I did call to inform them I would be 20 to 25 minutes late) they honestly were not mad at all.
