In reading other reviews, it seems like some just do understand internet technology or how bandwidth works. The biggest complaint I see if about network speed. In short - don't sign up for than more than what your technology will allow (e.g. Your Router, Your Wireless Card, etc). What was promised (what you are paying for) versus what you are getting (your reality) are a limitation of what you own, not what Metronet is providing. Assuming the fiber optic cable is not bent nor cut, you should be getting your money's worth up to the Metronet modem. What happens after the Metronet modem is a limitation on your end. Take a look at the attached images. Same MacBook, different means of connecting to the Internet. My Wifi connection is slower and my max speed via WiFi is restricted based on me device's wireless card AND the Wifi network type (G, N, AC). Wired Ethernet, I am getting max bandwidth. Don't expect 200 Mbps on the Wireless G or N network provided by the router in your home. We have two XBOX's in the house. Both are connected via wired Ethernet. Why? Speed. Wifi is decent; not good enough for most game play. As for Metronet in general. In nearly three years, we have had ONE outage that we did not cause and that one outage lasted a couple of hours. We had two outages that we did cause. In both cases, we broke and cable, and in both cases, Metronet had a technician at our home within 72 hours of my calling in the request. I have found the Metronet people on the phone and the Techs onsite to be very friendly and accommodating.

When I walked in there were tons of electronics in there in various stages of repair from various decades, some old wood cabinet electronics all the way to 90's and newer. I showed the gentleman pictures on my phone of the radios and he immediately started telling me about them and what the common problems with them are. He gave me a ballpark estimate of cost to repair one. It was very reasonable considering what it was. I would absolutely recommend them, businesses like this are going extinct and it's a shame.

They transferred our numbers but couldn't activate my watch for a month. They still charged me. They also added things to my internet that I did not want. Cameras and streaming services that I don't need. They said it would not raise my payment, it did. The part that bothers me the most is that there is no accountability. No one will take ownership and rectify the problem. It's always "the online people versus the in-store people" and no one can do anything about the other. You can buy online and pick up in store, and even make changes to existing accounts at this store. I liked having a brief conversation with the manager he was knowledgeable and genuinely friendly. There were ample brochures about the variety of Comcast Xfinity products and even some products to test out. I would definitely consider coming to this Xfinity store.

I also refuse to go to Comcast. I noticed an ad for Layer 3 tv online and decided to try it out. Let me preface by stating i have a 1gigabit internet thru the fine folks from RCN who also have excellent customer service. Layer3 TV is an internet based cable solution. Their feed runs thru your internet. and they have 4K. I admit i was skeptical at first but once i switched i have not looked back. The picture quality is amazing and the customer service is outstanding. They are new to the Chicago area so there are a few kinks but you can tell with the technology they use they will become a force. Please keep doing what you are doing I enjoy your services immensely.

Everything looks super professional, and they even put all of the network gear like the modem and router into a little cabinet so that it was hidden away. I was having constant issues with my service and having to reboot the router and modem, but I've had no issues since.
