started out with great service. however after requesting maintenance after another ISP crew servicing our neighbor disconnected/damaged our equipment it took a full 24 hours for anyone to be available to assist. The initial phone call just to find that out took over an hour. What if I had to get to work during the next service windows? I would have needed to go 3 or 4 days before getting it fixed. Had my internet upgrade from 1GB up and down to 2GB down and 1 GB up today and received new equipment to handle it. Tech said everything looked good as the ONT had all green lights thought they would stay on for a few minutes before all disappearing and the ONT rebooted. Tech said everything should be fine in 20 minutes and if not call tech support. well 45 minutes went by and still the same. Called tech support and after talking to the tech, she said I'll have have someone dispatched to my house. I was like ok, until I was told that would not happen until Monday. I now have no internet service until then and it is currently Saturday. when did their customer service get so bad. this should have been a rush to get me back up and running since the install tech did a shitty job. read more

Their internet/streaming is dodgy at best. A strong breeze? Whoops, no internet. Someone sneezes in Australia? Oh no, the internet is down. A bird farts in my backyard? You guessed it, the internet goes down. The customer service was always friendly, and I would have recommended them to anyone who doesn't heavily depend on the internet (like I do for my job), but then... I cancelled my service to go back to a dependable provider, a week before my month's service was up. I sent back their equipment, with their label, the very next day. The tracking shows when it was shipped and received. They took $68 out my account anyway the following week. When I called to ask what happened they gave me a song and dance about billing until their equipment is received and processed. Which is bullshit, but I figure it will be a week at most because I still had a week left before they billed me again. They sent me a check 45 days later for $11.45. Excuse me? So Metronet essentially stole from me. I no longer had their services OR their equipment, all verifiable, and they took money out of my account anyway. When metronet first came to our area, they were stellar ! Great service and great net ! Over the past few years, they've sucked. Long long waits to reach tech by phone, long waits for repairs to be made, just overall makes me want a 5 G box instead of Metronet. Three quarters of their problem is not burying their lines deep enough. A thin wire up your yard, not inside conduit or anything, and then attached to the house doesn't cut the mustard when you have gardeners digging, dogs digging, kids playing. They leave the new wire on the ground and u have to wait until the trencher comes a week later to bury it...and it's barely in the ground. No more metronet for me after this last fix. They had routed and buried the neighbor's line through my backyard and tore up my yard. They kept pushing it off and took weeks to remove the line and try to fix the torn up lawn. The lawn still isn't how it was before and they're too incompetent to fix their mistakes. They then just routed the neighbor's line through my front lawn and over my driveway, and put a speed bump in my driveway over the line. They said they'd remove it in a week, but it's been over a month and they haven't done anything and stopped returning my calls. Meanwhile this is the neighbor's line and they're damaging and putting stuff on my property and I'm not a MetroNet customer. I live in Bolingbrook, Illinois. Metronet dug up my backyard and installed a junction ("flower pot") box in the ground, on my property. They buried it right in the line where our future fence and fence post will go. I have been requesting since day one that they move this box over by a foot to make sure it does not interfere with our fence line. Their response was, "Just move your fence". I have called them on multiple occasions, had them submit no less than three construction tickets, all of which have been blatantly ignored. All I am asking is for the box to be moved 12 inches, and so far they have been un-responsive. Now I have to seek HOA, Township action as well as legal action. I would not want to find out how they treat their customers. I will never be one and encourage others not to be either, based on their lack of cooperation and big corporation mentality. In my 30 years in telecom, Metronet ranks among the worst ISP providers I've dealt with. In the Copperas Cove, Texas area--where they recently rolled out fiber--the service has been nothing but problems. T-Mobile relies on Metronet infrastructure here, and the connection is plagued by repeated outages, often multiple times in a single week or weekend. Most recently, my service has been unstable all weekend, prompting yet another technician visit. From improperly installed fiber at the outset to ongoing reliability issues at my location, the service has been completely unacceptable. There is no value for the price. However MetroNet doesn't "play nice" with UK's VPN client, so that on the VPN client speeds went down to under 20 MBs, almost like dial up. This made my work-from-home impossible so I ended up also having to get Spectrum in my home, just for work, and as an employee I could not write off this expense. Avoid T mobile at all cost or it will cost you thousands of dollars. I got a flyer from T mobile in Jan to join their founders fiber internet in the area and have my price locked in for 10yrs. I signed up and they sent a technician out to install the internet. When he i arrived i expressly told him to not drill a new hole but use the existing one for the internet cable as the siding is old and will be prone to crack in the cold weather. The technician agreed and went out side but to my surprise I instantly heard drilling. Upset but willing to let it go i waited for him to return and asked him if everything went okay which he said yes. After he left i went outside to check on it and found that my siding had about a 2-3 inch crack where he drilled the new whole. I called T-mobile ever 3-4 days for 3 weeks to constantly be told they are submitting a ticket and someone will call me in 2-3 business days which the never did. It was clear after the 5 or 6 time trying to get T mobile to respond to this damages they were doing nothing and just hoping i go away. So I filed a complaint with the BBB which finally got them to respond and they tried to claim they have no responsibility as the technician was a contractor and i have to purse him. I obviously rejected that because it was T-mobile who hired the contractor and I have a contract with T-mobile to provide services not some random contractor i have no information on. They finally called me when they realized i wasn't going away and got metronet involved as they informed me metronet handles the installation T mobile handles the servicing. so this is outsourced to metronet who outsources it to contractors. I had many siding inspect the damages and despite the small amount of damages they advise due to the age that the entire siding on the room with the damages be replaced due to repair jobs would not be warranty because they couldnt guarantee a repair on old siding would last. Metronet refused this and instead found a local siding company who would do the job and metronet said they would warranty the area. Sounds great FINALLLY it would be fixed and if the repair failed metronet would take care of it. except when it was time for the funds to be released to start the repair job metronet sent me a contract to sign okay sure i guess? i read the contract and i had to agree release metronet from any liability or damages caused from the damage to the siding even unknown and future damages. it also stated that any agreements out side the contract are not valid. so this essentially mean the promised warranty by metronet would be invalid as it would be an agreement outside the contract and would be unknown damages. So metronet/tmobile was just openly lying knowing they would never warranty this because they know this repair job will not last. also if water damaged resulted be cause of this crack siding or repair failing it would be on me to cover it. So PLEASE AVOID THIS COMPANY they openly admit to vandalizing your stuff and do every shady trick to avoid accountability. read more

I cleaned it up myself and moved on. Fast forward to today, and a Metronet rep rings my doorbell, asking if they left a mess. I confirmed they had but said I had already taken care of it. Instead of apologizing or offering real compensation, he tried to turn it into a sales pitch--offering me a "free month of Metronet for the inconvenience." Unbelievable! Their construction crews have no regard for other people. They have been walking around my house where no lines are being dug(around my car, front steps, in front of my garage). Leaving bungee cords ends in the street, tarps in yards where no work is being done. I called customer service and after holding for 20 minutes was told to call a different number (the website listed the number I called as the one they were trying to have me call). I owed a bill that was a little over $200. On February 13th 2026, I paid a $170.00 towards the bill. The total left was $35. I called customer service after I paid the bill and the customer service rep put in a ticket for my Internet to be turned back on. She informed me it would be turned back on in a half an hour to an hour. I got home from work at 3 pm and the Internet was not on. I text the customer service number and did troubleshooting. I was informed that a technician would be coming out on Saturday February 15th between 12 and 3. The technician came out and got my Internet working and on. I came home today on 2/17 and my Internet was not working again. I went online to check if there was an outage and saw that I owed $255. I called customer service right away and tried to figure out why I owed that amount and I was told that I did not return the equipment. I asked the representative what are you talking about. They stated that my device was cancelled and that I owed $150 for not returning the equipment. I stated I never cancelled my account and just paid $170 on the 13th. They stated that it was cancelled because I fell behind in payments. I told them that I paid what I could in December and my dog had to have emergency surgery in January. But I did pay the majority of the bill. I did not get any notification that the service was cancelled and I just paid the majority of the bill. I asked for a supervisor and they stated that there was not a supervisor available but one could call me back. I stated that I work and would not be able to answer the phone during the day. I also asked for the corporate number so I could file a complaint and they refused to give it to me. They also informed me my account was sent to collections. read more

I've had the service for two weeks. I've had to call them three times to get it to work again. Still cannot get my TV to work tonight. Service is intermittent. Horrible customer service. Every single MetroNet person there tells me to "reset my router" or they need to " update software on my modem". If I have to update software or reset my modem every two or three days then their service is garbage. And now waiting 2 days for tech to come out to troubleshoot. Xfinity is more expensive but at least at worked every day. Initially they said it would be a week for them to bury the new cable in my yard. NOW They said it would be at least another 2-4 weeks before they could actually come bury the cable. We will see read more

The customer service is lacking. They must of ran over my sprinkler because a couple of weeks after the install, I get a call from my water company. They tell me my new water is $300.00 since my pass were in the $90.00. And that I should check my sprinklers. They dug up my yard and left a mess with dirt left on sidewalk then, they put the leftover dirt on my tree instead, of back on lawn. Some supervisor appeared at my door without notice or schedule appointment. He told me they didn't run over sprinkler and that anyone could have done that. Internet is great, speeds are fast, but it is costly. You just better hope that nothing ever happens with your fiber line or you're SOL. Our (poorly installed) overhead fiber line snapped in half and ripped off our house. We called Metronet and were on hold for 25 minutes. Once we were finally connected with an actual human, he let us know it would be 3 days before one of their technicians could come out to replace our line, so we will be without internet for 3 days. My husband runs his business from home, so he is losing money each day we do not have internet. We have been incredibly disappointed by the response from Metronet. We have been pleased with the internet speeds, but the customer service has not been good, and this has not been our only negative experience with them. We are going to shop around for other fiber internet providers who actually do value their customers' time. read more

I've only had Metronet for two months, but I have worked with fiber in another industry, and we have found it to be very reliable. The main reason for switching from cable was the price for a two-year contract. Cable prices keep going up with service that keeps dropping out or slowing down. The service so far has been very reliable, but we have not had any bad storms yet in Florida. The only reason I could not give them a 5-star rating is the team of men burying the fiber in the ground. They did not do what their supervisor told me they were going to do. They had to come out three times. The last time out, they cut the wires going to my sprinkler system. Like many other complaints, these jokers came onto my property unannounced & tore it up putting their cable in. That was last fall & I don't think service is yet available for my house. These guys were subcontractors and they managed to severe my CommEd line and leave us without power for about 8 hours or more as well as 42 of our neighbors. I pitched a fit and advised that other utilities, in particular CommEd, ask for permission, get a signed waiver and explain what heavy equipment they're bringing in. I just had my 1 gig internet service installed yesterday 8/31/25. The tech arrived at 8:02am and left my house at 4:30pm. It wasn't connecting and the the speed was less than 300 when I am paying for 1Gig. The call center that 45 minute wait times so plan on it being an all day process. Woke up to a stranger digging in my backyard. Never any prior notification or visits to inform me that someone is going to be on my property. Entering and leaving like it's their own house, looking into my windows. My dog went ballistic. I couldn't let him out for several hours. Workers don't speak English and can't explain what they are doing there and why. The customer support person tolerated me well but I never even got an apology for trespassing. They kept repeating that digging has been approved by the city, but it doesn't resolve the issue. You have to notify people about such things, at least to protect your workers. We could never get a hold of anyone on the phone/email/chat. On 07.21.25 I finally got ahold of someone on their CC line. They advised they would cancel our service effective 07.02.25 and that all we need to do it take our router to a local fed ex store with our account # and they will ship it. They advised they sent a confirmation email. Well, here we are on 07.28.25 and fed ex wouldnt mail our router and they keep billing us and we never go a confirmation email that we were cancelled. Although I'm not currently a Metronet customer, I did have a good interaction with the corporate headquarters after one of their crews accidentally knocked down my mailbox. After reviewing the issue, we quickly came to a fair money settlement to have it repaired with a minimum of hassle.
