Service is good do far, but they promised that the fiber optic line would be buried within 2 weeks of starting service. Every time I call to find out when this is happening (because the yard guy won't cut the grass with the cable exposed for fear of damaging it) I get told a time or other information that turns out not to be true. here are the summaries of the calls I've made: today, oh, um tomorrow, oh I'm not sure I'll have a manager call you, oh today, I mean tonight, tomorrow, oh I came to bury the line but first the other utility companies need to come out and mark their lines, how long will that take & why didn't that happen already, I don't know... read more

company is absolute garbage. they cut our existing Internet line and denied their actions. left metal wiring all throughout our yard. the access panel they put in our front yard is raised up about 3 inches over the soil. we have to pay out of pocket for the repairs they caused and cross our fingers we get reimbursed from them. the website only helps if you are an existing customer no one will answer the phone when you call to try and speak to someone. read more

Metronet is not worth it. They seem to shut off the phones during problems and don't respond to requests. Cost is more than others at the same speed when the unadvertised tech fee is added in. Not worth the purchase. read more

I've had Metronet for over 3 years and year after year the cost has increased. I called last year and this year after the 10+% increase in the cost of their "service". I called mid July to try and get a better deal and was quickly transferred to customer retention to which I was on hold for about 20 minutes until I finally gave up. So then I went to Xfinity and looked up their current package for 1GB service and found that the cost is $75.00. Original cost is $85, but are able to withdraw the payment from my bank account, which drops $10 off the plan. I get their free modem for 2 years at no cost. So I decided to cut the fiber and go back to Xfinity. Within days I had the equipment and set it up. I've noticed over the past couple days that my TV doesn't have to buffer anymore during programs. It had been a very frequent occurrence with Metronet, so bad that it would knock the sound and the picture out of whack. At the end of my relationship with Metronet I was paying $113 per month for the 1GB. I also found out that wireless is not a taxable item. I think Metronet is taking advantage of our communities and feel that it needs to stop. Good luck to all! read more

I was super optimistic and got my account set up in early July. Ended up with multiple cancelled install appointments (their cancellations, not mine) and was informed that a power pole needed to be replaced before they could confirm anything further. It's now December of 2024 and I still haven't received an install date. I received multiple promises for updates (which never happened unless I initiated them) and kept getting false notifications about install dates. No followup from management. Lots of apologies, but no action. I finally cancelled the service that I never actually had. Will likely be posting to multiples sites in order to help others avoid the frustrations, the empty promises for followup, and the awful customer service around it all. read more

I decided to make the switch from Xfinity to Metronet. The installer came and I told him several times where our Invisible Fence is located. He worked extra hard and made sure the lines were not near the Invisible Fencing line. Fast forward about a week. The workmen come to bury the line and they cut the Invisible Fencing in my front yard. No one was home that day. I've been calling Metronet to get this resolved and I talk to someone in Customer Service and they say they are working on getting in touch with the contractor that did the damage. It's been over a week. They have been very apologetic but I need a solution to this issue. I am very discouraged and disappointed in Metronet right now. I'm afraid if I get the Invisible Fencing repaired and pay for it, Metronet's private Contractor will contest it. read more

I hated doing business with A.T.&T so I switched to Metronet. WHAT A MISTAKE! Inferior in everyway. We are a small business and we deal daily with internet outages. Customers complain their smart phones work poorly in our shop. Can't speak to their customer service as they appear to have none. Don't answer phone or return messages. Saved only pennies a month. We have been using Metronet for almost three years now. Today, I am still giving them five stars. Their customer service is excellent, their internet speeds are second to none, and if you have a problem they are there to help. In reading other reviews, it seems like some just do understand internet technology or how bandwidth works. The biggest complaint I see if about network speed. In short - don't sign up for than more than what your technology will allow (e.g. Your Router, Your Wireless Card, etc). What was promised (what you are paying for) versus what you are getting (your reality) are a limitation of what you own, not what Metronet is providing. Assuming the fiber optic cable is not bent nor cut, you should be getting your money's worth up to the Metronet modem. What happens after the Metronet modem is a limitation on your end. Take a look at the attached images. Same MacBook, different means of connecting to the Internet. My Wifi connection is slower and my max speed via WiFi is restricted based on me device's wireless card AND the Wifi network type (G, N, AC). Wired Ethernet, I am getting max bandwidth. Don't expect 200 Mbps on the Wireless G or N network provided by the router in your home. We have two XBOX's in the house. Both are connected via wired Ethernet. Why? Speed. Wifi is decent; not good enough for most game play. As for Metronet in general. In nearly three years, we have had ONE outage that we did not cause and that one outage lasted a couple of hours. We had two outages that we did cause. In both cases, we broke and cable, and in both cases, Metronet had a technician at our home within 72 hours of my calling in the request. I have found the Metronet people on the phone and the Techs onsite to be very friendly and accommodating. read more

I am so over metronet coming into our yard on an ongoing basis because they had "legal rights" to lay their lines on our property. This week, they severed our internet line, couldn't be bothered to tell us and just tried to tape it back together. When we had our service provider come out to troubleshoot why we weren't connected to the internet, he found their mess and fixed it himself. Would never use them and hate that they have dug up our neighborhood and many others in my city for services we don't even want. read more

I called MetroNet for the 2nd time (my last call was about two months ago) to inquire about the $200 gift certificate I was promised for signing up for services. The last time I called they stated I needed two months of billing without adjustments before they could issue my certificate. I had a billing without adjustments before adjustment because I had paid the bill twice. I argued but it did no good. I was told the certificate would be sent as soon as two full billing cycles were completed. I waited and did not receive anything. I contacted them again on Friday, February 21 and this time they told me they could not honor the offer because they had ended the $200 dollar offer in August and I signed up for services in September. When I signed up the offer was made and I confirmed that when I spoke to the customer services rep. Now they refuse to honor their offer. I have been told I have no choice but to take a $100 certificate that will take 60 days or a $100 credit to my account. No one is holding this business accountable. They can promise anything to get your business because they can renegotiate on their promise with impunity. read more

There are no brains working there. Idiots. Second and third tier companies provide second or third tier service and support. Technical support is good but the office is not. No direct number to anyone, can't call back and talk to the same person. Spent over an hour to get a simple answer. They said there is no supervisor to speak with. Lack of supervision, training, communication and knowledge. One person was good but after getting disconnected there was no way to ever speak with them again. Then the chain of fools. If you have an option, avoid Metronet. It doesn't end. It goes on and on, getting worse every time. Not a brain cell anywhere. After years, it's worse than ever. read more

MetroNet cut my irrigation line while installing service for my neighbors. I have called 3 times in the last 2 weeks for them to fix this. Each call I'm told I will hear from someone in 24-48 hours. I cancelled the service in March of 2024. They continue to bill me because I could not return the equipment. The local office was never open attempted multiple times, I was told to take it to UPS store and they will take it. Local UPS store told me they do not do that without a shipping label, in the meantime made more attempt's to return it to the local storefront. Eventually called in May and talked with a supervisor who told me they do not send shipping labels instead sent an installer to pick it up. They have sent a few people to our neighborhood to do work on other people's lines and service, but no matter what happens they shut my service off. Then when you call to try and get help you are on hold for hours. Then you call to find out what is going on and they refuse to tell you anything they have no compassion. You will have to wait 24 to 48 hours to have a service tech come out and do anything. When the techs come out they don't come out when you requested them to so you have to completely last minute change your plans or make sure you are doing nothing all day that day in order to be waiting around for them to show when ever they want to. The customer service is very bad, technical service is bad. If I wanted bad service I would have stayed with Comcast. They say on their website their service is fast and reliable and they are committed to customer service I have yet to feel that commitment from them. Here is my story (hold on it's long, there are also updates) 1. In October we had a technician out to fix our line, he told us we were paying for 2 whole house booster but we only had one, so he gave us a second and said our bill would not go up. Sure enough, our bill goes up and we are now being charged for 2 boosters. I contact Metronet and they tell me once I send the booster back via UPS the charges will be credited. Two billing cycles later I'm still being charged for the 2nd booster, and haven't received my initial credit. Been emailing for three days over 10 emails back and forth and they tell me I haven't sent it back yet. I sent them the UPS receipt. To me, it feels like they lied to me to get me to take the extra booster so they could charge me more, and now are not taking it back or crediting me even though they said they would. **update** a supervisor named Ben explained to me that it does take two cycles for the request to be removed. He refunded me the extra cost and said that it would end up double refunding me because at the next cycle it will automatically do it. I feel More than a reasonable credit. Thank you 2. When I signed up I was told I would get a $50 gift card, after two months of bill pay. It never showed up. Contacted them and they said it was never sent so they would credit my bill $50. Two billing cycles later and no $50 credit. When I contact them they said on my November invoice they show two $25 credits but they are not there. When I send them the screenshot of my November bill asking where are the credits they don't answer the question. **update** A manger named Bed walked me though how the credits were applied, I am an idiot, father down the invoice it does show the credits, but the top of the invoice that shows the amount charged did not show these credits. However, if I did a better job of looking up my bill payments I would have seen this. If only the customer service rep took the time to explain that to me I would not have been so frustrated. As far as the service it seems ok. I got 500MB which is more than five times as much as I had with Comcast but it doesn't seem that much faster or better. Overall I'm still annoyed that the tech gave me a second booster and said there won't be a charge, but there was, and that the initial customer service rep just glossed over my repeated requests and documentation. I'm happy with the customer service I received from the supervisor Ben. I will be going straight to him with any other concerns. read more

A little over two years ago, we signed on with Metronet for our business. We were told they were the best of the best and had amazing customer service, and quality control!... That could not have been further from the truth! Since day one we've had nothing but issues. We stayed patient and tried to work with them as we did not want to work with Comcast or AT&T. It is official... metronet is the worse of the three! They never installed our line correctly and it kept getting cut by the lawn maintenance people. Our line must've been cut 10 times before they finally had someone come and bury the line properly. Our service would get shut off periodically with little to no notice. "Routine maintenance for other Metronet customers in the area" is what they said... Very frustrating to try and run a business this way! After fighting with them for hours and hours about how awful their service was, I made my final payment and they told me my service should be back up within 20 minutes... The next customer care associate told me three days... The one after that told me about two weeks. I am officially leaving Metronet and giving Verizon 5G business Wi-Fi a shot! If this doesn't go well, I might just get rid of cable altogether. These companies suck, but Metronet is the worst. Do not use them for your business. read more

I DID NOT EVEN USE A GIG OF INTERNET FROM THEM AND THEY WANT ME TO PAY OVER 400 DOLLARS. All the bad reviews are spot on. It is a scam service they dig holes in your yard and hire crack heads to go door to door that work off commission and will tell you anything to get the sale. My guy told me it would be a free trial 1 month and if I do not like the internet I will not be charged a penny. Well that was a complete lie. I called them to cancel a week after having the internet and they tell me to return the modem to the post office. I return the modem and continue to get bills in the mail racking up over 400 dollars. After being on hold for 45 minutes I get hung up on and have to start over and a second 45-minute wait happens until I get another person, I was told they would remove the past due month but THAT I STILL HAVE TO PAY $300. I told them i only used the internet for literally 1 day before I went back to my old internet provider. THERE IS NO CALL BACK OPTION FOR THE CUSTOMER SERVICE YOU HAVE TO LISTEN TO ELEVATOR MUSIC ON REPEAT FOR 45 MINUTES. I ASKED FOR A SUPORVISON AND THEY TOLD MEIN ORDER TO TALK TO A SUPERVISOR, YOU HAVE TO WAIT FOR UP TO 24 HOURS BEFORE THEY WILL CALL YOU BACK. I am yet to get a phone call back. they left the fiber line draped across my front yard for OVER A MONTH. They said they would be back to bury the line and they never did. Worst customer service ever!!!! Installers Park on my lawn and dug ruts with the truck tires in the grass. Then they wanted to fight and argue with my neighbor. They also parked on the edge of his lawn and wrecked it. I emailed the area manager and received no response. Next I was told my bill was due one day then find out that there's a reconnection fee of $30 because I was told the incorrect day. Two full days. That's how long I've had this service. An hours-long outage yesterday which somehow resolved itself. Not even the tech support person understood how it reset. Another outage started early today and is still going. Tech support reported seeing an "equipment malfunction" alarm. It's all brand new equipment!! NEVER experienced such poor quality service with my Spectrum service. Looks as though I'm going back to Spectrum. read more

Just had mine installed and had a great experience with the two young men who did the installation. Very Courteous, Professional, and Knowagable. They went above and beyond by reconnecting the many smart devices I use in my home. So far, so good. Speed is a vast improvement over my previous provider. (ATT) I'm glad Metronet finally came to our neighborhood. read more

I recently had MetroNet installed and the experience was very poor. The installer was knowledgeable and pleasant but when it came time to bury the cable it was a disaster. The crew came and buried the cable before I knew they were here. I expected that someone would come and mark the location of my current buried services before this happened but it did not. I was told this marking would happen when the installer completed her work. You can see from the photos what a mess they made and, in the process they cut one of my other services. When I reported this to MetroNet customer service I was told to report it to that other service provider and that the other provider would do it free of charge. They were right. The other provider did not charge for the repair even though it was clear that MetroNet had done the damage. However, it doesn't see right that MetroNet would get off so easily. I haven't had the service long enough to know if the quality is as advertised but the installation certainly is not. Don't think I would recommend this company based on these poor practices. And, if you have a nice lawn .... probably not. read more

first off, if you're going to come into someone's home and start putting holes in their wall make sure you're talking and scheduling installation times with the person who pays the bills. they knew they weren't speaking to the person who would be paying (me). You people then tried to make me uninstall everything myself (when I didn't know how you installed it in the first place because I wasnt even home when you guys came here) and ship it back to you when I was told someone would come pick it up. you have a terrible reputation in my neighborhood and I see why. read more

MetroNet is a shady company! I cancelled service in March and still haven't received my partial month refund check. I have been told three times now that the check would be refunded to me within in 2-3 weeks. If you don't call and stay on them, they will keep your money. Don't trust them! read more
