Want HVAC with a sense of humor and lots of experience? Look no further! These guys are smart and detail oriented. We just moved to a new house and needed a full overhaul. New furnace, a/c and humidifier. Ouch! Called Franzen and from the time they inspected our old system to ordering our new equipment and getting us in for install, it was just a little over a week. Amazing turn around time and service! Very fair pricing too. Tony worked with our budget and have us a few different options. He explained the various levels of furnace efficiency and helped us choose the right equipment for our house. We ended up going with the most efficient unit and he explained the additional vent pipe that this would require that was included in the installation process. Jason and Trevor completed the install. They were so kind, respectful and knowledgeable. They went the extra mile to talk to my kids and keep an eye on our dog while I took the kids out. It was really a pleasure to have them over working on our house. Very tidy too! Put down lots of drop clothes to protect our carpet. Jason constructed a new plenum for our furnace and his sheet metal skills are really on point! Very clean work. He takes pride in what he does. Same thing with the piping. He figured out how to assemble the new vent piping so that it would be as flush to the ceiling as possible. Excellent workmanship and really excellent people to work with! read more

I've been working with tradesmen and contractors in business and personal life for 50 years, and I've never worked with anyone better than Tony. He responds to calls after business hours in a way that makes you think he's your best friend. Heck, my best friend doesn't respond like that! Anyway with good pricing, and over the top service (even helping you over the phone to avoid a service call) I can't ask for a better professional to handle my HVAC and mechanicals issues! read more

On June 13, technician Anderson came to fix my A/C. It took 35 to 40 minutes to get it fixed. I am completely satisfied and definitely will call back in the future if other issues occur. Definitely thumbs up! Kiddos! read more

A+ service. Jason, Dustin, and the crew were polite, thorough, professional, and fast. They cut no corners, and hung around after our HVAC install to explain our new smart thermostat to us. I know they were tired from a hard day's work but they didn't rush us at all. They know their craft. read more

I am a certified HVAC Tech and also a landlord. I am 65 and have rehab 100's of SFR's and GC 1000's of apartment rehabs. I had the flqame sensor of my 2008 Rheem furnace go bad. I was on a project in Baton Rouge and my rental is in Aurora, IL. Normally I service my own rentals locally and have professional property management for the rentals that are not local. I got a call from my tenanat and knew that most likely I needed a Flame sensor replacement. This was Saturday and the temp in the house was dropping quickly. So I called around to see who would commit to being there first. Franzen said 1/2 hour (actual time 2 hours later) and since they are physically located close to the property I said yes. I expected to pay emergency call out rates probaly twice the normal rate. The part can be bought on line for $10 to $15 dollars. This job is a quick one for experienced techs. less than 30 minutes for certain. They quoted me $120 rate just for the call out or $120/hr. Not only were they very late but THE BILL WAS $387.35 or 3.10 hrs labor. Needless to say not going to use them again. read more

My furnace filter went missing after Franzen installed my heating/AC unit and Tony made sure that it was replaced for me.

We just moved in and just needed a technician to inspect our furnace and make sure it's all good to go. We apparently have a very rare furnace, I can't even remember what it's called, but someone recommended Frazen for specializing in them. The tech was very informative and answered any questions I had as well as gave tips for maintaining it. We'll be using them again in the future for sure. read more

Our furnace went out on the Friday night 2 weeks before Christmas, 2019. I called Franzen on Saturday morning and Tony Franzen picked up immediately. He told us he'd be there before noon and even gave us a call right before he got to the house. He was super professional and gave us some good options for our problems, which included a new furnace and water heater. These had been incorrectly installed by previous companies. Tony left 3 space heaters with us, guaranteeing they'd be at our house at 8am on the Monday. A whole crew, turned up at 7:50 am and they never stopped working until they had a new furnace and water heater installed, by 3:30 in the afternoon. I can absolutely recommend Franzen Heating and Cooling to Aurora area residents. read more

Jeremy was great. I have been using Franzen heating and cooling for 4 years now and I am happy with their service and the Trane heating and cooling systems. read more

This review is a bit late as I forgot to review in January. I used Franzen last summer for a bigger issue, but had them come out again this past winter to do a simple dryer vent cleaning. My dryer was taking hours to dry a load of laundry. The dryer vent is on the second story so not accessible with a usual house ladder. Franzen team came out and were professional as usual and cleaned out the vent for a very affordable price. Laundry dries great now! read more

I highly recommend this company! I just had them install a new furnace and air conditioning unit and not only did I get a great price, but technicians Dustin and Eric did an incredible job. They corrected a leak in one of the pipes that came up from slab floor without any additional charge. They asked for my opinion though out the installation, kept me notified of their progress, and cleaned up when they were done. Tony, the owner, even came out to make sure everything was going smoothly. Try them out; you won't be disappointed :) read more

Recently moved to this area and bought a house for the first time. I had just bought a new washer and dryer. The dryer gave me warnings that my ducting was about 80% blocked. Checked here on Yelp and found out that these guys were near me and had some good reviews. Couldn't be more pleased. Someone answered the phone even after "normal" business hours and got me set up with an appointment right away. My mom was at the house when they came for the appointment (while I was at work). She said that the men who came were so nice and respectful of her the whole time they were there. They also did great work--my dryer is back up and running well. I got an estimate over the phone of a price range the service would be within, depending on the length and route of my ducting, and the price ended up being much lower than I expected. Very reasonable! I'd highly recommend them for this type of service. I already plan on going back to them when it gets warmer to have my air conditioning inspected for the summer. Great people and great service! read more

I was very hesitant in calling a heating and cooling company. I have always heard about the horror stories of companies taking financial advantage of people. Frazen is not that type of company. They're Great! Very helpful, and honest. I will continue to call on and refer this company to anyone in need of heating and cooling repairs. Thank you to my neighbor that referred this company to me. We appreciate the Franzen Company. Thank you again, The Washington's read more

New to the area, checked Yelp reviews and call Franzen as they had the best reviews. Talked to Tony on the phone. I told him my issues and he said he can't get me in right away, but walked me through some trouble shooting items to solve my problem. While I was on the phone he guided me through the step to help fix the issue to hold me over until he could get someone over. Tony apologized that he could not come out sooner, but he needed to take care of his current client list. This guy was awesome, I will definitely wait to for him, as it is hard to find a good A/C guy that you can trust. read more

I used Franzen for a yearly inspection to make sure the system was working correctly, as well as clean the system. The tech did not bring in any tools and asked us to supply them for him. There was barely a basic review of the system, however, he did not even clean it. There is a total lack of customer service towards its customers including the office staff that are not able to address any issues. I would recommend not using Franzen H & C if you need a competent HVAC and customer service oriented business. read more

This is the best heating and cooling business around. Don't waste your time searching for another. Tony was very honest and friendly. He knew the furnace and fixed the problem. He takes me through the problem and in easy to understand language. He fixed it cheaply by beginning with the easiest solution. Never did he recommend replacing items that didn't need to be replaced. Trust me, there is nobody better. This business is going to install a new furnace and AC next month at my new home as well. Feel free to reach out to me anytime to discuss. read more

Tony (the owner) is very knowledgeable about the trade. His estimate was pretty good for my furnace and AC. All of his techs were polite and seemed to respect Tony, me the customer and my home, and the business in general. They laid out tarps and cleaned up after themselves. After a wonderful display of teamwork, they showed me how to use all of the services they installed. I would have them come back and I would also recommend them to my friends and family. 5 stars! read more

I have used Franzen for over 4 years. I have bought my AC and furnace from them and so has my son. I also use them for yearly maintenance. Whenever I have encountered a problem they have been overly helpful and completely fair on all pricing. I had a few issues in late December 2019 and they spent a lot of time problem solving and it was resolved. They stand behind their work and make sure any problems are resolved. I highly recommend Franzen. read more

Franzen Heating and Cooling is a joke! Tony sent his worker Jeremy Howard out... Jeremy told my wife we had a leak in our system but it would cost between 800 - 1000 dollars to find and fix the leak. He recharged our system and charged me $290.00. My A/C unit stopped working again in a couple of days! After having another company fix my system, which I was told "Any half decent HVAC person would have found." I contacted Tony, which he agreed to refund my $90.00, for the services (obviously not done properly). After almost a month of weekly emails and getting excuse after excuse as to why the refund was not sent out... (forgot, mommy was out of town...) My wife called and was talked to completely rude and hung up on. I would never recommend this company to anyone! I have filed a complaint with the BBB and will be taking this issue further! read more

Tony was so great to work with. We felt ZERO pressure from him and his staff. They were professional from start to finish. This estimate was spot on and plan to use him again when we build our second home. Great work guys. read more

My air conditioner went out yesterday and this week the temperatures are going to reach 100 degrees. I called Franzen and they were able to schedule me today. Jeremy came out and was able to find my problem and fix it right away. The air conditioning is back on thank goodness. He we great! Thanks for your prompt, wonderful service! read more

Last Friday I awoke at 4 am to find my house very warm. I felt the vent and warm air was coming out. It was already 84 in the house. I called Tony at 4 am and not only did he answer (a live person) but took the time to try and troubleshoot the issue. Unfortunately none of it worked. He told me he would be out that day but with so many calls it would not be until afternoon. Jason arrived quickly found out what the issue was with the unit and had it blowing cold air within 20 minutes. He was polite and even my two little dogs loved him. Secretly I think they knew he fixed the air so they could be cool but he still tolerated their kisses. Nobody wants their air to break and certainly nobody wants to pay for unexpected repairs but I was treated more than fairly and I trust them. read more

We recently experienced problems with our furnace and called Franzen. Tony came out the next day and addressed and fixed the problems we were having. He answered all our questions, and took the time to explain the answers. Very professional and courteous. We have used Franzen for several years on both our air conditioners and furnaces and we will continue to use them for the foreseeable future. When we had an issue Tony made sure it was resolved to our satisfaction. His dedication to keeping his customers happy is why I would not hesitate to recommend Franzen to family and friends. read more

Our "builder grade" Goodman A/C unit developed a leak after less than 8 years of service and the original installer is out of business. Tony Franzen dropped what he was doing, came out to the house on a 90+ degree day, and diagnosed the problem in less than an hour. He got us back up and running and charged a fair rate. I'm working with him now on a quote to replace with a higher quality Trane. read more

Instead of coming out to fix an easy problem, Tony walked me through the steps to fix it myself! I would recommend this company and will use them in the future. read more

Tony is the best! We refer quite a few of our customers to Franzen and they are always happy. They are honest, polite, and really know their job! As a fellow business owner it's hard to find a company to refer your customers to. Don't be afraid to call Tony for all your HVAC needs read more

Excellent service and price. They told me what was wrong with my system and how it could be fixed. They didn't try to upsell me on a more expensive system or try to pile up add-ons to raise the cost. Jeremy did our estimate and explained everything. Joe and Jason did a fantastic install and cleaned everything up when they were done, including sweeping my basement floor! I strongly recommend Franzen. read more

I was referred to Franzen because they were familiar with the Apollo system that is in my townhouse. Most companies don't even know what it is. I was given an estimate and felt it was more than fair based on another quote I received. Franzen had experience working with these units. When the guys arrived for the install they were professional, polite and hardworking. Tony is very knowledgable and explained everything they were going to do right from the very beginning. I would definitely recommend them to family and friends. read more

I had a new central air unit installed by Tony and his crew and was absolutely completely satisfied with their performance. They were prompt, professional, honest, very courteous and friendly. Tony took the time to answer all my questions, with no pressure, before I decided to utilize his services. And that Tony gave me the best price was what clenched the deal. Would highly recommend Franzen! read more

We started looking for a company to install central air for us back in October! After many companies not calling us back we ran across an add for Franzen and their customer service is out standing! Tony was was so attentive from day one! Tony and all of his guys were so professional and did an amazing job. They even came back a few times just to make sure everything ran perfectly! You won't get better service from anyone! We won't ever call another company! read more

My blower motor went out on my AC, and I called several companies before deciding on this one. They gave me an idea of cost including service call, before coming to my home, and confirmed their estimate after looking at my AC unit. The technician did a great job, but after work was completed and total bill was drawn up, the cost was about 15% higher than the estimate, which was a little disappointing, but I wrote the check anyway. After giving it some thought, I called the owner to let him know I felt like the estimate should have been more accurate, especially after inspecting the unit. I told him his technician did a great job, and I don't mind paying for that. He told me he wants his customers to be 100% satisfied and that he would refund the difference between the quote and the bill. This all happened today so I haven't seen the refund yet, but I feel very confident I will. I will follow up in two weeks with another review to confirm refund, but because of fast and excellent service, fair prices, and a willingness to make sure customers are satisfied, I am giving Franzen Heating & Cooling a 5 star rating, and I recommend them wholeheartedly. read more
