Last year I needed help with my a/c ducts. Today, my whole a/c ststem was shut completely down. I was lucky that Ryan was able to make it to my home, 30 mins after I called! I feared my whole system might have needed to be replaced as I followed DIY advice on the internet and NOTHING! Ryan had it diagnosed in about 15 mins or so. It seems about once a year we need help with something in our 1914-built home. Each time we call Buchner. They are so dependeable- our home is almost like a TV commercial- I told my wife we had a hot water heater problem. Her response, "Did you call Buchner?!?" Its funny now because Ryan fixed our hot water heater. He was clear what was wrong, showed and explained to me the problem, and he repaired it quickly, perfectly. He even gave me advise on what caused the problem and how/what to think about this if problems re-occur. It seems like everytime we think we have a very costly home repair we have to deal with, Buchner sends someone out who is honest and does the job right! In 2014 it was our home's venting system. 2015, it was the house heater. 2016, thermostat. 2017 (today) the hot water heater. All fixed promptly and professionally. They are a blessing. This is NOT the company it once was. The level of customer service has truly diminished. I had an appointment, and their tech arrived 40 minutes early. Keep in mind that during the winter months, they cancelled with me several times because my call was not a high priority. Not to mention their guy had just come out two weeks earlier to check my furnace for leaks, and we talked at great length. However, today EMILY called to say that since I could not make the appointment, they can never put me on the schedule again. Such a horrible level of customer service. It's okay for them to cancel, but because they are there early and I cancelled, it's never scheduled with us again. No problem, I am a homeowner, hard working, and damn sure will take my money and service elsewhere. Not to mention their best technician are no longer here. Were able to get me an appointment same day when my furnace went out during -30 wind chill. Communication regarding arrival time was great. The Technician that came out was also great and went above and beyond to ensure we had heat. I needed to replace my power vent water heater and had called about 10 companies to canvass prices, and Buchner beat everyone by $300. So I went with them and when they came to replace my water heater I made sure that there were no extra charges and there wasn't. Cory was the one that installed my water heater and did a great job. He was professional, showed up on time and did the job in less than 3 hours. I highly recommend this company. Also, they were the only company I called that didn't charge an extra 3-4% fee for using my credit card to pay for the install. read more

I have my furnace cleaned annually. Shortly after the fall 2017 cleaning, the furnace would turn on, run for a few minutes, turn off, and then turn on to run another heat cycle. I called another company to problem solve and a new thermostat was installed. That still resolve the issue. Today I had an appointment to have the unit inspected and it was cancelled. So I researched local companies that had good ratings and found Buchner. I called at noon and spoke to Michelle, who was so very nice. She was able to reach a technician and modify his schedule so he was able to come to the house. Within an hour Ryan was there. He spent quite a bit of time looking at the unit. He also looked at the new thermostat which was a "lazy" job by the previous company. He got the furnace running and I picked a new thermostat that would suit our needs. The furnace seems to be heating very well so I hope the third company was the charm. While I feel a bit taken by the other two service companies, I am happy to have the issue resolved. Just recently had Jesse and Mike out to install a brand new HVAC system for our house. Furnace, AC, Humidifier, zoning system, and ion air cleaner/purifier. They were very professional, arrived right on time, and finished the job 2 1/2 hours early! I purchased an air conditioner, furnace, smart thermostat, and water heater from Buchner in mid-June 2018. This was my first time purchasing these types of equipment; and so I thoroughly researched brands and installation companies in my area. Some of the sites on which I researched were Consumer Reports, Yelp, Google Reviews, and Angie's List. Through this research I developed a list of questions to ask when receiving installation quotes. In total I received quotes from 4 companies. I learned a good amount from the quotes I received as well. The top criteria I used to decide on a company were price, equipment brand, and company reputation. Buchner installs Carrier HVAC products and this was a top rated brand from my research. The sales rep. from Buchner did not give me a hard sell, unlike 2 of the other companies. The Buchner sales style was essentially "These are the steps to install the equipment correctly, and here's how much it will cost." I was given a few installation options. Sean, the sales rep., was very accommodating to a couple minor nuisances I requested. Mike and Jesse, the installers were very knowledgeable. They did a very neat job installing. There were no surprises, and that's a good thing. They finished the job early and spent some extra time showing me how to use the smart thermostat. Overall, Buchner exceeded all of my criteria. They took care of everything from start to finish, even setting up the inspection from the City of Aurora. In addition, they have great warranties for their equipment and labor. I would use them again and recommend them to install equipment to members of my family. read more

Tim , from Buchner Heating and Air Conditioning arrived on time, and delivered outstanding professional service! We had two toilets installed (taking out the old ones), re-installing one to replace a defective toilet, and installing the internal "guts" from the other old toilet in yet another toilet. Tim, worked hard and fast. He completed all the above in a very reasonable time. (We were surprised at how fast the work was completed).The cost of all this work was reflected in our cost. Tim cleaned up everything, (i.e. the old toilets were taken away, the shipping boxes were taken away, the toilet "sites' were vacuumed and it was as if nothing had ever happened, etc. etc.). We could not be more pleased! Buchner has been dependable and fair to us over the years. They have replaced garbage disposal(s), cleaned and replaced old furnaces and air conditioner systems. My furnace would not work properly. The blower would turn on but no heat. Called Buchner, They showed up when they said they would.10:00 am. Tech said I needed a new igniter. They charged me over $300 for it. My house was down to 45 degrees. I know it was all my choice to have it done. i understand the $150 service charge because it was a Sunday morning. Had another company fix our furnace and did but said next time we'll need a new one. It's 27 years old so started getting quotes on Monday and the next day it died. Company one said they could get to it in 3 days. Buchner said they'd get a guy over the next morning and temporarily fix it for free until they could schedule us for the new one the following week. Overall, the guy they sent out for Buchner was a nice guy and got the job done. I appreciate that. However, I'm not in a position to know if what I got was a fair deal. I will lay it out here as best i can, to help others determine if what they're getting is fair. September 8, 2014: The air conditioner condenser on the outside of the house (the big green box with the fan) isn't working. Called Buchner, guy comes out. Here's the charges I received- $127.76 for a 7.5 mf run capacitor, $60 for a recommended freon top off and we agreed to a $189 maintenance contract which covered an A/C and furnace cleaning. That day, he cleaned the A/C and we decided to call him later for the furnace cleaning. Total on Sep 8,2014: $376.76 October 23, 2014: Set up an appointment for the Buchner tech to come out and clean the furnace in advance of the rough winter coming up. He came by at 1:30pm. Again, very nice guy. He set out to clean the furnace. After 20-25 minutes, he comes up from the basement with a recommendation for a new run capacitor. The run capacitor is 10 mf. His testing revealed it to be at about 8.4, which he said is below the manufacturer tolerance, which i accept as absolutely true because he's the HVAC expert. He did give me the price of $114 before i agreed to let the maintenance proceed. However, I'm not an HVAC expert. He spends about 10-15 minutes in the basement and completes the work. By about 2:30pm, he's done. I sign the paperwork and he leaves. A total of an hour or so. Looking at the bill, the timeframe he puts in is 1:30-3:00pm. I don't know if this is standard, but I have to call it out. I looked up the cost of the capacitor he used as the replacement on Amazon. It was a Titan Pro Run Capacitor, 10 MFD, 440/370V, Oval with a cost of $17.48. I can accept that they probably get these in bulk for about that cost or cheaper and mark them up. To give the benefit of the doubt, let's assume the markup is 100% and the cost of the part to me is $36. For 15 minutes of labor, I paid about $78. Keep in mind, this is not a repair call. He was already here for preventative maintenance I paid for. Total on Oct 23, 2014: $113.62 Grand total: $490.38 I called Buchner afterwards and asked a guy how the pricing is done. He said they use a computer program which provides a flat fee. That's really all he would tell me. I didn't complain or ask for a refund because I have no basis whatsoever to compare it to. Overall, I think the repair guy was good and friendly. However, the charges seem inflated and the fact that parts and labor are combined is a little shady. I assume this isn't his doing as he gets pricing from the central office. I question whether or not the pricing they charge is fair, but I'm hoping there's someone out there reading this who knows better than I do and they can use this review to better choose someone for repair. read more

If there was a higher rating, this company deserves it. Both my wife & I have spent all of our professional lives in sales and in retail. I used to say "where did the customer service go?". Chris Bucnher and his team (Tom, Ken, Tracey) not only restored our faith in business, but saved us from the extreme heat wave that hit our area in the last week. My wife is 9 months pregnant, we have a 18 month baby, and our Air conditioner went out Wednesday 6/27. The temp in my home was in the high 80's. My home warranty company could not get their Heating co to my home for at least 36 hrs. We call Buchner Inc and not only did they come out within an hour of our call, they coordinated with my warranty co and replaced my unit. All within a day. Great service! I had my dryer vent and pipe cleaned and since it's on the 2nd floor it's tricky. But they were extremely knowledgeable about how to do this. They showed me pictures so I know the job was completed correctly. Unfortunately it required two technicians so was more expensive, but it was worth it. read more

My sister recommended Buchners to us. We were not disappointed! Came to our home to repair an a.c. Unit n when it wasn't repairable we had one of their people out the next day for a quote. The ladies in the office were very nice pleasant to speak with as well. Both gentlemen were professional, pleasant and knew their stuff! Mind u this was when the weather was in the 90's n they were very busy...we will be using them from now on. They will be installing a new a.c. unit for us. I recently purchased my home and am new to the area. Before the cold weather set in, wanted the furnace to be checked out. Read reviews on YELP for various businesses and was impressed by the reviews for Buchner. They did not disappoint me! I work from home, so appointments are made within specific time periods. I received an email the night before confirming the time with a picture of the person coming to the house. I received a call from Ryan 15 minutes before he arrived and was right on time.
