Michels is a gem! Knowledgeable, fair, and efficient. From the beginning the communication was absolutely top shelf. The plumber was responsive, clearly experienced, and wonderful to work with. I've used a few other plumbing companies - and while none have been bad (thankfully) I can also say that none have been THIS good. I recommend them fully! I'm grateful to have found them. Owning a 100+ year old house has its challenges. Michels helped us overcome them. read more

2nd Great experience with Michels Plumbing. The plumber was great, identified the issue, we thought we would need a new toilet and upon his analysis, only a internal part was required. Part was ordered and he quickly came back out to replace. Everything about the experience was honest, fair, clean work and incredibly nice people to work with. Would highly recommend - Michels was recommended by a friend and i can see why. Thank you for great work! read more

Dishonest, rude and incompetent. The first guy came for a FREE estimate and was knowledgeable and professional. The guy they sent to do the job was his polar opposite. They tried to charge us for the free estimate and for half of the work we agreed upon. The job was to replace two shower cartridges and he said we're only replacing one and mentioned the price was not changing. When I asked him if he was serious and if he's trying to take us for a ride, he responded snarkily, "Yes, I'm trying to take you for a ride". I told him we were done here before he did any work and he said he boss would be billing us on his way out which is laughable. Big time bait and switch artists. Avoid at all costs. read more

This company is a "gem in the woods", as they say. After a horrible experience with a previous plumbing company, I found this company. Bryan and Harris explained everything, from what they would be doing to what I should expect when they finished. They were professional, efficient and I am extremely happy with their work. I totally recommend them and will definitely call them again if I need additional work done. read more

Recently, I received a referral for Michels Plumbing Inc in Aurora, IL. I didn't think I had a problem with my water heater, but it was old and I wanted to be safe versus sorry..... Strangely, this very week I had the appointment and noticed there was water in the "pan" under the existing water heater. It was confirmed today during my appointment, that my old water heater did in fact, start to leak.... I was very lucky with my timing to simply pursue purchasing a new one. I "hit the lottery" with this Company, Brendan and the entire experience. He was timely, knowledgeable, efficient, patient with explaining things to me, fair pricing and more..... Definitely a FIVE STAR review, if not more. I would HIGHLY recommend this Company should you have any plumbing needs..... Judi Harrington/Aurora, IL read more

Conclusion: Michels has been very responsive, they know what they are doing, have done our work correctly, their prices seem fair, and they have provided us with excellent service. Details: The roots of a tree were growing into our sewer pipe and clogging it. The first plumber we called routed the line but it became clogged again a week later. When that happened we called Michels and they routed the line using the right equipment. The line stayed clear for a couple years after that. They also contacted the city of Aurora to check the city pipes coming to our house. The city came out and put a camera through our pipe to check it and gave the final video to Michels. Eventually the pipe became clogged again. MIchels came out and did the job again. The tree was removed a year or two later and the line has never clogged since. We are currently working with companies to level our patio and the issue of holes in our sewer pipe came up. I called Michels to find out how far from the house the branches had gotten into the pipe. They actually took the time to pull the video and examine it to help me determine whether the leveling work might cause a problem. In summary: Michels has been very responsive, they know what they are doing, have done our work correctly, their prices seem fair, and they have provided us with excellent service. read more

Michels was very responsive and upfront with pricing on my request for outdoor hose bib replacement. Bryan arrived on time and explained the scope of work and recommended the addition of an online turnoff for both my outside hoses in the winter. Excellent quality of work and professional service. I've been calling Michels Plumbing for more than 30 years!! They are outstanding people and always do quality work. Today it was my water heater. From the professional office assistant to the guy's on the job, great experience. Local family ran business, customer service at its best

This company has been out twice in two weeks on two different issues. On both occasions I found Katie in the office to be very responsive. She sent Brian out both times. The first was a kitchen faucet replacement and today it was to replace two shut off valves. Both times he was fast, friendly and did great work. Very reasonably priced. read more

Although I desperately needed a plumber, I was worried about letting someone into my home during the pandemic because I am receiving chemo treatments. Brian showed up in a mask, kept a good social distance, and used the hand sanitizer I keep at my door. He did his job quickly and efficiently. This is the third time I've called on Michel's during the past few years. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and quick to respond. Becky and Jackie read more

I have used several different plumbing companies over the past 35 years, but Michels is the best. Top quality work, professionalism, and they are patient when listening to a homeowner's concerns. Brian is OUTSTANDING. 5 STARS! read more

Have used Michels for over 10 years. Examples of work done : sump pump backup installed, new water heater 9 years ago and again this year. Always timely, efficient, reasonably priced and genuinely concerned about doing a good job. I trust their expertise and quality of their work! Highly recommended! read more

They do a very professional job and have no problem with their workmanship. However get a written estimate before they do the work because they will nickel and dime you to death. read more

Great work and very honest people. Had a foot of water in my basement, they routed out my main line and got my water heater working again. They were in and out in an hour and a half. Will be calling them in the future for any plumbing needs read more

We hired Michels Plumbing to change our kitchen faucet. Very nice man came to the house and left the area clean BUT he used a metal scraper on my chrome/stainless steal sink to remove hard water build-up. Yes, scratches. He took our old Moan (6 year old) faucet without asking. Then our water pressure wasn't as strong after new faucet was installed. We wrote Michels a letter informing them of the above details. They totally ignored the letter but had no problem sending us a bill over $100.00 for 30 minutes of work. We have used them in the past and were happy with the results. But in all honesty, we will not be calling them back. We are both very disappointed in their lack of respect for a good paying customer. read more

From a plumbing perspective I have no issue, however they are pricey. My biggest complaint with Michels and speaking with Matt is that they truly DO NOT care about customer service. Their plumber Bryan used an outlet for rodding that blew out an outlet and lights along that circuit. Bryan then used a different outlet to complete the job without telling me about the blown circuit. Matt(owner/manager) took absolutely no ownership and was unreasonable of the issue they caused. I would never use them again and advise using a company with not only good plumbing skills but also customer satisfaction as a priority with warranty and fair pricing. read more

This will probably be the last time we call MIchels Plumbing. They have always done good work and had the amazing flexibility to send a bill rather than taking payment at the time of service. We were told rather rudely that this policy has changed. We have always paid our bill on time and in full. Can't this be extended to existing customers? Sorry, this was very inconvenient and caused a problem. Sorry Michels, we will find another local plumber who extends this courtesy to their customers. read more

This crew has come to my house four times now--twice for heating issues and twice for plumbing issues. Every time they were extremely prompt, friendly, professional and competent. They've earned my respect as my go-to plumbing/heating company. I would highly recommend them! read more

Very professional, job completed timely. Brian was very knowledgeable efficient and friendly.

We had a lead water main leak. The estimate was fair, the workmanship was outstanding! The plumbers took care to make a very secure splice in the pipe. The backhoe operator was very precise in returning the dirt to the opening with the least amount of damage to the surrounding landscaping. I highly recommend Michels. Very Happy! read more

Called about a few small plumbing projects around the house that needed to get fixed. They showed up on time and went straight to work. They also explained each piece they were putting in, why they use that brand, and what the benefits of it over others are. Their rates were reasonable and their work was fast. They even took all the garbage pieces away so I didn't have to do any cleanup. Keep an eye out for the big green trucks. They're my new go-to plumbers. read more

Very responsive and professional. Same day service on water heater that was shot. When there was confusion on price after what we needed changed on site and there were communications issues, they stood by it and were more than reasonable in what they eventually charged us. Rare to find a business that admits they were wrong and makes a concession like that. Plumbers they sent out were very efficient and made some helpful suggestions that we hadn't thought about. Hope we don't have to call them again :) but wouldn't hesitate to. read more

Michel's Plumbing put in my water heater less than a year ago. The pilot light keeps going out. Last Saturday morningI was in a rush, having a party and no hot water. I called because I was unable to light the pilot myself. Joe asked, "Do you want me to come over?" Like a fool, I said, "Yes". Michel's is located less than 10 minutes from my home and was here less than 10 minutes. I just received a bill for $131. That equates to $262 an hour. Highway robbery in my humble opinion. read more

I've used these guys twice and both times I was very pleased. Once I had a broken faucet where the stop controlling arm broke off and fell down the drain. The other time it was a broken disposal. In each case they were on time, nice, quick, and reasonable. I highly recommend them. read more
