From the start, Misty was very pleasant to set up an appointment with, and was able to setup a service call for the very next day. They had given us a a 3 hour window from 9:00 till noon. Made an appointment online early morning and got a response within a half hour. I was promised service between 10&12 same day and Brad showed up at 11. My unit was inspected, box rewired with their recommendation and had the capacitor replaced. Mind you, my unit was very old(over 10 yrs) and was worried that he would recommend a unit replacement and to my excitement, it wasnt. There was a$35 service discount on website that I mentioned and they honored it with a refund to my bill. On the first 90 degree day of summer, Youngren's was able to come out very quickly and service our AC. Joe was excellent, walking me through every step along the way and pointing out a few things we coulld do to make the AC more efficient. We were expecting a large amount of freon to need to be pumped in at significant cost. When completed, the bill was approximately 25% of our expectations. Highly recommend using them. read more

We've used Youngren's for HVAC maintenance since building our current home. We did try another business because of the lure of a deal on Groupon that turned out not to provide the quality of service we came to expect from Youngren's, Early in December we decided to look into replacing the HVAC units, and entertained bids from several companies. The bids from all the companies were close for comparable units. What separated Youngren's from the rest is not only our previous relationship, but their willingness to return calls and answer questions. The installation crew along with Doug, the estimator were on time. Doug reviewed the job with the crew and answered additional questions, The job was completed the same day, and the furnace room was left neat and clean. They even took the time to tutor us on how to use our new Ecobee Smart thermostat. The following day Doug called to check how everything went...... there was one small problem... our 6 month old Boxer puppy Indy decided to "remove" the insulation that wrapped the A/C line to the compressor. Wow, what an honest company! My wife called them to come out for the expected purpose of replacing our 30 year old furnace as our heating had just completely turned off for a couple days. We've got a very old (70s) Montgomery Ward wall heater that was only getting hot on one side (the right side, above the burner). I need to replace it, but we haven't decided what to do with the room and the unheated room next to it. In time, we may merge them and whether we do or not will affect the replacement model for this heater. I was hoping we weren't going to be forced to decide just yet, and luckily Youngren's worked very hard to get this thing going as good as new again. Definitely worth a rating of 4 or 5. We hired Youngren's to both clean out all of our vents and ductwork plus do yearly maintenance on our A/C. There are lawn service companies that will clean your ducts for less and handymen that will check out your A/C for less, but my wife and I wanted one highly-skilled, HVAC professional to do both jobs on the same day. We also wanted to deal with one reputable company only, not two. Youngren's of Aurora, IL, met our needs. The nice fellow assigned to complete our work knocked $20 off the A/C job, since he was already here for the vent cleaning. Being a thorough professional, he cleaned the inside of both our furnace and A/C. He also tested both electrical capacitors and determined that, at ten (10) years of age, they could fail within the next few years. He quoted a price for the two capacitors, but after I implored him to go easy on this elderly, disabled man (me) he installed them at a 15% discount. The total bill was $778. We have already noticed that our dryer dries our clothes faster at the same heat setting. Also noticed that our A/C cools our upstairs better at the same temperature setting. Clean ducts and clean A/C coils make a difference. read more

We didn't pay Youngren's a penny. Because they are honest. At the beginning of the summer, our AC broke. We called our home warranty company, which hooked us up with another HVAC company, and that company did the repair. We spent about $500 on that. We knew our unit has maybe one summer left in it (if we're lucky), but we were still surprised when it went out on us less than 8 weeks later. We were ready to rough it without AC for the rest of the summer. So, I headed to Yelp and found four reputable companies, called each of them, and scheduled times for quotes. Youngren's was the 4th HVAC expert to visit our home. Thank GOD we called a 4th one. Prior to that, three companies came in and did EXACTLY what was asked of them - they provided us quotes for new units. Each technician looked at our current unit and the electrical panel in our basement. All of the quotes, including Youngren's, were nearly identical. So why Youngren's? While in the basement, the technician looked at the electrical panel and asked my husband, "did you try flipping this switch?" Uh, nope? *Flips switch* The AC went back on and blew cool air into our home once again. Now, this was our own stupidity for a lack of knowing any better, and those other companies did do what they were asked, but each of them looked at our electrical panel and said NOTHING. Youngren's was HONEST! They also provided a quote that was right on track with the other companies. We will need a new unit, no doubt about that, but rather than have to hustle up $3k+ NOW we can wait until next summer is closer. I came home from being out of town to a furnace that was making an awful noise. I asked my neighbor if he could recommend an HVAC company. He said go with Youngrens their the best...not the cheapest, but the best. I was able to get an appointment the next day. Don was the service tech. I could tell from the short time talking to him that he was very knowledgeable on all things furnace related. He picked up on the problem right away. (The propeller was hitting the front fan guard. He made a minor adjustment to the propeller and problem fixed.) He then did a clean and tune up. When I made the appointment I was quoted a price that included a diagnostic fee and a cleaning fee. I called the shop and told them I thought the diagnostic fee seemed a little steep as it was such a small repair. Without hesitation they adjusted the diagnostic fee to the lowest price for a repair and I was still able to use my $25.00 coupon off the service call. As a disabled person who lives on a fixed income I cannot tell you how much I appreciated this kind gesture. My parents used this company back in June and still had issues, however they did not reach back out to allow the company to rectify any potential overlooked issues. When I went to visit my parents recently and felt how hot their home was, and their child I acted impulsively and called Youngrens expressing my dissatisfaction with how my parents air was working (or lack their of) after their service. The next morning I was contacted by Tim who was polite,patient and informed me my family had not reached out to express what they were experiencing. Pretty upset so far, their hours for work is only 8-4 weekdays with nothing on weekends. Had to take time off of work for them to come out, then get a call that they are running late. 2012 - Our furnace went out late last night so I called Youngren's emergency number listed on my furnace. I spoke with a very nice employee who informed me that they would be glad to come out but the fees would be overtime or if I wanted to wait until morning, he would inform the office and they would call me after they opened at 7:30am. I decided to wait and was called promptly by 7:45am to schedule an appointment. Josh and Matt arrived just after 8am. They were great! Really helped me understand our furnace and explained exactly why the furnace quit and showed me the cracked part. They also cleaned the furnace and inspected it. Although a costly part to replace, the manager worked with me on the overall cost as I also asked them for a cleaning. Well worth the money and their helpful knowledge. I definitely will be a returning customer and now know the importance of having it cleaned regularly! Thank you!
