I came here to try their non-dessert foods so I got a BBQ banh mi and a couple of roast duck steamed baos. BBQ Banh mi - This was decent. Nothing special to mention really. I would return to eat this. The only real complaint I would have is that I wish the bread was toasted. It would have given it a nice, crispy crunch. It doesn't bother me too much but would be great. Roast duck steamed baos - I liked this better Han the banh mi. Possibly because I like roast duck more than the other meat and probably the duck had more flavor. I would return to eat this too. No complaints here. Black milk tea with tapioca - It was good. I would also come back for this. The tapioca was a little more mushy on the outside than what I would like but the inside was still squishy so that's passable. Upon first sip of the tea, I noticed an odd taste. After the next sips, I wasn't really able to tell the odd taste anymore. The guy at the cashier greeted me right away when I came in (I was the only one in the store). I stood for a bit to look over the menu and he asked me if he could answer any of my questions. I did ask how many baos came with an order. He said I could choose 2, 4, or 6, I think. Circling back to the milk tea - I stopped drinking it to eat the food. Then, I took a sip and I tasted the odd taste again, then it went unnoticed again. Must be the tea? It wasn't a bad taste, just a strong taste on the first sip. TDLR: I would totes come here because I can get a decent banh mi and it's half the distance to Eden Center for me. read more

I just moved to the area and was craving bubble tea after a long day of moving. To my surprise, there was one 5 minutes away! The owner of this place is also the owner of tutti fruitti. I didn't enjoy the milk tea here as it was too sweet, but their avocado smoothie was delicious. We also enjoyed the halo halo & Thai iced tea. Five stars for their catering service! We ordered a variety of dishes from them for my son's birthday this past weekend and the food was wonderful! Our guests were really happy with everything we served. Some favorites included their special popcorn chicken (tasty, and with a little heat from jalepeno) and veggie egg rolls. I was too busy running around, so I didn't get to try everything, but I heard from others that the meat-free egg rolls were delicious and flavorful, especially for vegetarian egg rolls. Guests said they totally didn't miss the meat. The silkworm cassava cake was also a hit. And a young guest told me how much she loved the savory sticky rice (sticky rice with Chinese sausage) as she was leaving. Besides the great tasting food, I was also impressed with their customer service. I reached out to Kim, one of the owners and the catering person, and she contacted me right away and worked with me to choose dishes and figure out serving quantity for each item. They confirmed delivery time and arrived punctually with all the items carefully portioned and packaged. Everything was delivered as promised and managed to exceed my expectations. 5T provides free delivery if you spend $100 or more. Their pricing is very reasonable, AND they allow you to pay by credit card. There are quite a few Vietnamese catering services out there, both home-based and with a storefront, but I think 5T will be my go-to now because they offer the best value and quality products and provide great customer service. read more

I have just discovered my new go-to dessert place omahgaw. Lemme just say. So. Many. Options. And -- So. Many. Asian. Desserts. Seriously a dreamland if you love Asian desserts. From Halo Halo (Filipino), Che (Vietnamese), to Patbingsoo (Korean) -- there is so much variety. They also have really cheap banh mi! The steamed baos aren't that bad either! But seriously, I recommend the Halo Halo. The ube ice cream on top was the best part. (it was also my first time trying halo halo, so I'm not sure what it was supposed to taste like... but it was absolutely delicious). I also tried some of my friends buko pandan which was also really yummy. The patbingsoo (red bean shaved ice) wasn't exceptional, but still tasty (because of the ube ice cream and red bean haha). This place is far from where I live :( but I would totally do the drive just to eat the desserts here *^* read more

I am sooo mad, if I could give it 0 stars for the drink, I would. Before ordering my durian smoothie, I asked the employee if they used the real fruit or powder and they said both. After getting my drink and trying it, it tasted nothing like durian (I've had real durian smoothies many times)!! This one tasted completely artificial. According to Google they close at 10:30pm and on the door it says that they close at 9:30pm on weekdays. I have showed up twice at 9:00pm to find the store closed. I caught workers closing up the store and asked what time they closed and they said they didn't know. I don't know how two employees working there don't know the proper closing time of the store. This place is close to my work. Too bad is far from my home. What I crave at times is Halo Halo (Filipino dessert) and they make it right. Too many places put too much ice and big chunks. I hate crunchy Halo Halo. They are missing a small piece of flan in it though, but overall so worth going for Halo Halo. I will try their other desserts like ube cheesecake, and Taho. Going in to this place, we looked at the menu hanging in the window and decided what we wanted. When we went inside there were two other menus with different things and photos, so we were confused. We ordered stuff from the window menu and of course, they weren't available. The pictures on the two menus inside were also different. This place is amazing! You get to find a little hidden piece of the world here! They offer many types of sweets, and even odd things you normally wouldn't see on this side of the world (I saw an ice cream that was corn and cheese flavored and honestly I want that, who knew??) they have many types of boba to choose from as well as self serve ice cream/yogurt. The flavors here aren't as sweet as many "American pallets" would expect. However it is refreshing to enjoy something from it's pure flavor rather than a fake flavor masked with corn syrup and sugar! My sister's favorite treat from here is the Japanese cheesecake! The people who work here are always super friendly and very helpful with suggestions of things one might like! My wife and I got a cup of yogurt each, with minimal toppings. I got coconut flakes and she got crushed Oreo. Came to 22 bucks. The yogurt was already very soft, so was soup by the time we got home, which is less than 10 minutes away. The toppings at the bar seemed old, and not many to choose from. 5t Ice in the Dulles Landing shopping center reminds me of that froyo place in Chantilly off Lee Road. They have bottles of iced coffee from Lee's Coffee to go; I picked up their home made house coffee (with jelly, not boba) which is just as good. I haven't tried the gelato or ice cream yet, but I had two of their Vietnamese snacks for lunch. Bánh giò is mushroom and ground pork stuffed gelatinous rice flour dumpling wrapped in banana leaf; a bit peppery, just the way that my grandma would make it. Bánh bao is the little bun with pork, Chinese sausage, and egg inside. The menu is full of Filipino, Vietnamese, and other Asian styled desserts. The display counter showed off slices of cake, boxes of pirouette cookies, and macarons. Highly likely that I will stop by later today for the chè ba màu. Geographically speaking, this side of Sterling is closer to South Riding and Aldie than the Sterling up north by the Dulles Town Center. Mini-update: che ba mau (5c) is different, in a good way. We were heading back from Quattro Goomba's winery when we looked up 5t Ice for some dessert. Due to positive reviews on Yelp, my expectations were pretty high (hoping it would be up to Kung Fu Tea level). I was fairly disappointed with our first visit. The store was way understaffed compared to the ratio of customers coming on. The two girls did their best but having to run out to the fro-yo area to get ice cream for some of the drinks is not efficient at all. The milk bobba tea tasted water down and other drinks were just okay. The long wait and the store is out in the booney for us, I doubt we will be going back. I did see a lot of people ordering banh mi sandwiches so maybe that would be their redeeming factor. read more

The drinks are not good! Weve been here a few times hoping that we would find a drink that we like but all the flavors are not that great! The only thing we like is the taro and taho. The taro is ok but not that great. My other son got the pina colada smoothie with boba and it was not great! Its like they just put yogurt and pina colada drink mix! Yukk!! How exciting is it for those who live in the Chantilly/South Riding area to have a boba place! Came here to get boba/bubble tea with a friend and there was so many different things that you can get here besides boba. I had just been to this place (07/11/21) in Dulles landing, probably my third time. The experience was down right insulting, myself and my daughter got there before 8pm. The outside sign said it was open, we got in the place and another party was at the counter and we waited for our turn. After about 10mins, we got our turn and when we walked up to the counter we were told that they are closed and just turned us down. We were there to order milk tea for my daughter, not even any of the food. The crew heard us come in when the chime went off when the door is opened, they saw us waiting for over 10mins and none of them told us that the store is closed. They could have easily told us when they heard the chime or saw us standing there for 10mins that they are closed. They just let us wait all that time, only to then tell us they are closed. The only reason we were going there was they were conveniently located, not that they had the greatest milk tea in the area. I am taking my business elsewhere even if that means I am driving an extra few miles. I would have selected a red star review "avoid this place" if yelp had the option.
