Cute little gelato spot as bs they let you sample to help you decide. Gelato was good, but I thought it's overpriced, $9 for a small size. Not sure if it normal to DC area, but it's definitely way more than I'd pay anywhere else
I am a big fan of dolcezza sold in the grocery stores. I am an even bigger fan of the storefronts with the fresh gelato. I got to try flavors that they don't sell in grocery stores and it tasted so fresh. I tried the black and white cookie and Vietnamese cinnamon flavors. I went with the Vietnamese cinnamon in an affogato. Not only was the gelato fresh and delicious, but the espresso was smooth and paired so well with the gelato. I don't think I've ever had a better affogato. I highly recommend stopping in for a treat if you happen by one of the store fronts!
Authentic gelato that's both chewy and creamy, very high quality ingredients turned into a high quality product. I have yet to try anything else but gelato alone was wonderful! I bit on the pricier end for a small ice cream. They have a variety of flavors that are beyond the average boring ice cream shop! Open late and great for the post dinner sweet treat
Dolcezza is heaven on earth in gelato form. Dense and intense, yet light and airy. Silky and smooth, yet crystallized and earthy. I can't even describe it, it's something you have to experience.
I throughly enjoyed my experience here! The staff were really helpful at giving recommendations and creating cute designs for my espresso.
Yumm!! Definitely on the pricier side of gelato ive gotten but their pistachio is so dense and one of my faves. Their scoops are pretty big and the workers were very patient and kind, especially with us sampling different flavors ;) Looking forward to coming back and trying their matcha!
I tried their seasonal banana spiced iced Matcha and it was delicious. Also try their apple cider and their pumpkin chai. The parking was perfect. It was close to the location as well as the space. It was very clean and welcoming. Maria was very nice and friendly and allowed me to try different flavors of the gelato I love the pumpkin pecan gelato. I also purchased some gelato to go. They actually have really great tasting coffee. Definitely will be back again.
A solid gelato spot for when you're craving dessert in the area. I enjoyed the Roasted Strawberry which was basically a stronger strawberry flavor than normal and thought the stracciatella flavor was solid as well. Service was friendly and were helpful in explaining the different flavors.
Might be one of my favorite gelato places. On the pricier end but its worth it. Fruit flavors are very refreshing. Andrew my buddy who loves sorbey type gelato's was born again from this
I think I found my new favorite dessert! I came to Dolcezza after having dinner at Hawkers next door, and the space is absolutely adorable, with super friendly workers encouraging me to sample different flavors and sharing their personal favorites. I ended up going with the Marscapone & Berries in a cone, and my LORD was that incredible! The gelato was delicious and rich, and the berry sauce swirled throughout gave it a nice extra kick of sweetness every few bites. The portion was surprisingly big, but of course I finished it all because it would seriously be a sin to leave any behind. I was devastated to learn this is a local chain to the D.C. area and I won't be able to have it again any time soon, so if you're a local I urge you to take advantage of how lucky you are to live near a Dolcezza and stop by to try it!
King Leo Peppermint Mocha The espresso was smooth, the milk was frothed perfectly, just the right amount of peppermint on top. Delicious and a work of art! Ana out did herself, even with the espresso machine acting up. Make sure you get Ana to make you your lattes, fantastic barista! Highly recommend. #ThisFeedsMySoul
Tried the blueberry matcha as a big matcha lover, but found the blueberry syrup a bit overpowering. The drink ended up tasting more like a blueberry milk than a traditional matcha. I'd definitely try it again with less syrup to let the earthy matcha flavor shine through more.
I was running some errands in the area and happen to be craving something cold and to my surprise I saw someone walk by me with delicious looking I cream from Dolcezza so I searched the place and went to grab some myself right away. It's a cute place with some standing and sitting room to enjoy your ice cream. The staff were very friendly! They do have a lot of options for gelato and iced/hot coffee options, they also have matcha. I got the small size which comes with 2 scoops, I chose the coffee and cookies and the hazelnut crackle, which was a really good choice. It was not the BEST gelato I've ever had, which my favorite spot the gelato is very creamy, but Dolcezza is a great alternative, I would go again. The area is also very nice, so you can grab your gelato and enjoy it sitting by the benches right in front of it, especially in a hot summer day.
I was in the area on a Sunday evening when the Seasonal Matchas sign grabbed my attention.... great sign placement and advertising because it worked with getting me through the door. I had seen Dolcezza before during my many visits to Bethesda, but I have never been a big fan of gelato. I had no idea Dolcezza also served drinks. The staff were friendly and greeted me when I entered. There were a handful of people in line, but it moved quickly. I foolishly stood in line for gelato without knowing I could have went straight to the drink counter to order my drink there. The Blueberry Lavender Matcha tasted just as delicious as I imagined it would based on the image on the sign. The ingredients were fresh and flavors all complimented one another. I would definitely come back again to try more drinks, especially if they were just as good as this one :) read more

Unbelievable. I thought I've had gelato before, had it in NYC, in upscale malls in the Middle East and this has reset all of it. Now I have my Northstar bite of gelato and know what to compare others against until I have it somewhere in Italy. Pistachio and hazelnut, a scoop each were fantastic. This is really a great spot to cool off on a hazy humid evening in DC after dinner. A service was fantastic and really has a quick turnaround on all the food. Definitely well worth the visit. read more

It was nice to walk around Besthesda Row with a few of my friends this past Friday evening and exploring the MD area more. While walking around, we saw Dolcezza and suddenly everyone was craving gelato. There was a decently long line given the nice warm weather. SMALL GELATO - 6.05 You can get up to two flavors but I was wowed by the "Mascarpone & Berries" flavor that I got only that. I'm not usually a gelato fan but this one was great! I liked the mascarpone base and the berry chunks/filling gave it a nice tart twist. It was also not too sweet and the perfect dessert for me. There was a lot of seating outside of Dolcezza where my friends were able to sit, talk, and enjoy our gelato. Overall, I'd recommend Dolcezza for a delicious gelato. $6.05 for a small scoop is a tad expensive, but nowadays, everything is just ridiculous. read more
Amidst the varied stores and restaurants, Dolcezza offered 13 creamy and decadent gelato flavors. Unfortunately the flavors were hidden behind metal lids but we were able to sample any that appealed to us. The storefront was quite small and having the employees squished at the entrance around the selection made the experience cramped and slow. The small option granted us two flavors in which I found to be reasonably price and sized. However, the gelato melted quite fast so I wished the cup was a bit larger to hold the contents better. =ORDERED= There were notably more "creamy" options than fruity ones. *Tramontana: incorporated dulce de leche and chocolate candies into a vanilla base. On the sweeter side but I loved how indulgent the combination was. The chocolate balls gave a pleasant crunch while the dulce de leche was smooth and rich. *Roasted Strawberry: not quite roasted but rather jam-like. Not as vibrant as traditional strawberry. Would have enjoyed some actual fruit in the gelato to give it some sourness. *Pistachio Siciliano: one of the best pistachio renditions I've had. Nutty without any graininess. Wasn't overly sweet and would pair well with any flavor. *Mascarpone & Berries: described as almost a berry cheesecake. Personally I found this to be a lighter version of that dessert without the bite. Rather mild in flavor and wasn't as memorable. Dolcezza had some of the creamiest gelato I've ever had and I would highly recommend them for anyone who enjoys vanilla, nuts, or caramel. While their fruit gelato was also tasty, the brightness and tartness took a backseat to the cream base. I hope to see fruit to play a more prominent role in their gelato to offer a lighter alternative to customers. read more

Good gelato. Surprised they had ube flavored gelato. I've been on a vanilla and ube kick lately, so those were the flavors I ordered. The service was good and the server allowed us to sample many flavors. There were chewy bits inside the vanilla that I could not make out. Portions are big. We got two large since the large is only $1 more than the regular/small. My fiancée enjoyed the chocolate hazelnut the most. I couldn't finish mine. I think I got sick of the ube flavored gelato. The space is long but not very wide, so it felt extremely cramped when more customers came in. The tables and bar stools were clean. The bathroom was decently clean and they offer paper towels, which is a plus. It was a convenient dessert place since it was right across from Hawkers (where we went for dinner). read more
First time eating in-store Dolcezza. The store was pretty small but have a counter and some chairs to sit and eat in. I got a large size with three flavors -- Mascarpone & Berries, Mango, and Chocolata. The cup is a decent size for two people. The texture was way better than the store-bought dolcezza. I like all the flavors but a bit pricey. read more
The staff was kind enough to offer several samples to help me choose the right flavor. I ended up with the coffee flavor, which was delicious! They have so many unique flavors that I've never seen before, and I'm looking forward to going back to try more! read more
Ice cream, coffee, sweets for ages! The gelato flavor selection is amazing. They have so many good unwieldy choices you'll want to order more or come back for more. The drink menu has three different parts; coffee, expresso and teas. Don't forget to check out the seasonal drinks The customer service is excellent. read more

The customer service here was amazing. Upon entrance we were greeted, and everything was explained to us. They instantly offered to give us samples of our choice to try. This was definitely a great experience. I got the blueberry lavender gelato 4/5 and my husband got half-and-half of two different flavors. They had basic options, which is always nice to have and they also had fancy options as well. They had a great variety so everyone can enjoy their ice cream experience. I recommend stopping here over Jenni's splendid if you're in the mood for ice cream. read more
WOW. I'll start by saying I love ice cream and frozen desserts (custard, fro yo, etc), and eat it so often that I feel pretty strongly about whether or not the dessert is "good." For dessert tonight I opted to try this place instead of the more mainstream Jeni's down the street, in an effort to support local businesses and try something new. I was incredibly impressed by the wide variety of flavors, both classic and unique. The gelato was heavenly, with kind staff and no wait. It is a total hole in the wall, mom and pop- type store. There is not much seating inside, but there are benches outside along the rest of Bethesda row. I cannot wait to come again and try more of these fun flavors! read more

Good gelato, but was expecting better! The light, stretchy texture of the gelato was on point but I didn't find any of the flavors to be that vibrant. I tried both the creamy flavors as well as the fruity ones, and while good, they were not that flavorful to me. I would come back simply to get gelato while in the area, as the location is nice with plenty of seating. Overall I like places like Pitango better, but still worth a try! read more
