Rose gelato
Libby F.

I came to see a movie and as you may know you have to pay in advance to park so when I got out of the movie and I still had 20 minutes left, I wasn't gonna let the county have it without a fight...or gelato. I should say. I've been to fantastic and Gaithersburg so I knew exactly what I wanted. I started with the rose gelato along with three toppings. I feel this new location does not have nearly as many topping choices as Rio. I got the strawberry dip and also a strawberry drizzle. Not very imaginative, but I only had 20 minutes left on my parking so I had to make a quick decision. It was delicious and hit the spot after sitting through the movie. I finished it in the car on my 1.5 mile drive home. Yes, I will be back, but on a Sunday when parking is totally free. Four stars for not having as many toppings as the Rio location and for pushing the tip jar towards me. (I only had my credit card and I did tip $1.00.)

Strawberry cheesecake ice cream

Let me start this post by talking about the location! The gps takes you right next to Ben and Jerry's but it's further up the street. Across from the h&m but right beside the potbelly's sandwich shop. I came to this location because we were told about the recently opened fantasticks from the team member Bella at the Gaithersburg location. She said the location was huge (she didn't lie about that, but I am going to be honest I prefer the Gaithersburg location - it's easier to get to). I bought my husband along because I wanted him to taste this yummy dessert. He got the strawberry cheesecake ice cream which he devoured and thoroughly enjoyed. The interior design from the brand color palette is alike. Boho chic and just bubbly and welcoming. The surge of options is overwhelming but the team members are always happy to offer a suggestion to help with that. I got the popsicle that is just so good to not get (banana filled with Nutella, dipped in caramel biscoff and drizzle with chocolate). If I knew it wasn't going to melt quick I'd get a second option to try lol. The location is in a prime location and definitely worth giving it a try. I've tried the Gaithersburg, silver spring, and Arlington locations all this week and my best experience was at Gaithersburg. I would say for this location the freezer where the popsicles are is either being opened too much which is a good/bad problem, the door is being left open unaware, or the freezer is unbalance. The chocolate bars were melting and icy chocolate is not a pleasant taste at least not for me.

Avocado banana popsicle with dipped in caramel with coconut, caramel pearls, and graham crackers and a strawberry drizzle

A nice addition to the walking mall in downtown Silver Spring, especially for the summer months. They offer artisanal popsicles (gelato on a stick, or vegan and yogurt based options are available). I had the avocado banana popsicle with graham cracker and shaved coconut, dipped in caramel, with a strawberry drizzle. It was excellent. They had some other tempting flavors, including mango, lime, and mint chocolate chip. The interior is bright and clean, they have some seating, and the staff was friendly and took time to explain the ordering process. In addition to popsicles, they had about 8 gelato flavors on offer.

Fantasticks is very fun and cute. They don't have traditional gelato flavors but I really liked their offerings. On my first visit, I had mint chip, and normally I'd never go for a green mint chip, but this was really good. On a subsequent visit, I had another flavor I really liked (maybe a coffee). I'm looking forward to returning to try a gelato bar/pop.

Mango popsicle with toppings

I really love the concept of this restaurant. It looks very trendy inside and I love the pink and gold decor. It is a great place to bring children because of all the different flavors and toppings you can add to your popsicle. I ordered the mango popsicle. I didn't think the flavor was as fruity as I would've liked, but nevertheless I loved adding the toppings to it.

This is such a cute gelato shop where you can choose between regular gelato or a stick version and various toppings. The flavors were a bit limited when I visited on Sunday afternoon but I ended up getting the pistachio and tiramisu. The pistachio was nice but the flavor was not that strong, I preferred the tiramisu for the bolder coffee flavor. You can choose up to three topping and a drizzle or a dip. They have lots of topping to choose from, so it's easy to customize.

Such a fun addition to downtown Silver Spring! A little pricey, but very cute space and unique concept. We liked the pops and gelato.

Great addition to Downtown Silver Spring. Used to be the site of a Starbucks and now has amazing gelato pops.

Great business, no comments…read more Really, so much to love! + Cinnamon toast crunch latte + Food, like MEAL food (not just pastries) that are excellent, like their hot honey bacon breakfast sandwich and prosciutto mozzarella sandwich + Seasonal drinks + Clean bathrooms + Charming local street order placards + Reusable dishware, even for their self-serve water + Reasonable prices + Stylish dishware and charming, spacious seating + Quick and friendly service Not much to critique. Not all their flavored lattes are created equal (go to a Middle Eastern coffee shop for pistachio, theirs is the typical extract-driven flavor profile). I wish their point of sales system allowed for less than a dollar tips (I usually always round up to the next dollar, but I couldn't go below 1.00). We'll be back, with friends, soon!

Lots of seating, cool-looking lighting, a great selection of drinks, yummy gelato (I tried the Cherry Blossom -- amazing!), soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries, oh my goodness! The staff are all very nice and welcoming, too .... When I went it was quiet but I hear it can get very crowded and at certain times, the only two upstairs tables are reserved for a runners' group. There are (rather steep, if only a few) stairs and also a ramp to get to the downstairs area, but the ramp is rather long and involves having to make a 180 degree turn. I think it's doable for those who can walk it but if one is using a wheelchair, I'm not so sure because there is a table in the space where some part of a chair-on-wheels might go -- so in other words, if the chair is very narrow, okay! If not, I think maybe not .... I didn't actually measure it, but it just seemed a little narrow to me. The bathrooms have really cool tiles in them, and there is a lot of stony texture on the exterior wall. There are some pretty, inspiring black-and-white paintings and at least one quote painted on the walls outside the bathrooms -- I like these kinds of touches a lot. I found the tomato soup to be much more filling and satisfying than expected, having forgotten one could become quite full on such a dish. I took much of it home and enjoyed it at room temperature on the porch a bit later in the day, so I can attest to the fact that this soup is delicious both hot and cooled down. I was surprised by the taste of the toasted cheese and was informed by my more-astute-than-I dining partner that all their bread is gluten-free. I hadn't noticed. I'm not sure exactly how it normally comes because seeing that they had basil, I requested a leaf and got a very nice-looking sprig! So very fresh, wow! This (early-ish spring) is probably a rather perfect time to enjoy the available outdoor seating area -- maybe I will next time .... I'm especially glad to know that my old fave Filipino grocery store that used to be on this corner has been converted into such a worthwhile, pretty, welcoming, and community-building hub! :-D Overall, highly recommended! Major Yay! :-D

They had just opened at noon, so we were excited to be some of the first customers and check out the flavors of the day! The young lady working was super friendly, professional, and genuinely seemed happy to be there--which made our experience even better. She kindly offered us samples of several flavors, which helped us narrow down our choices. I ended up going with a scoop of Piña Colada and something new to me called Candy Dream--a purple gelato that surprisingly tasted like strawberries. Super refreshing and different in a good way! I got mine in a waffle cone, but was a little bummed to find out it was the last one already--only an hour after opening. My husband had to go with a sugar cone, which was still tasty, just not his first choice. We originally came in hoping for chocolate, peanut butter, or salted caramel, but learned they rotate flavors daily--so what's on the menu board isn't always available. Just something to know ahead of time if you're craving something specific. Overall, great little spot with delicious gelato and warm, welcoming service. We'll definitely be back to try more flavors (and hopefully snag a waffle cone next time)!

Writing a review to express my immense gratitude to the staff in this store…read more I was idling my car (SUV AWD) in the alley way across the street, right by the Ukrainian Embassy. Totally inexperienced with ice and snow, I thought it would be ok. Ended up getting stuck there - tried hacking at the ice under the tires to get some traction for 30 minutes but still couldn't make it up the hill. Google search said putting some sand / salt / cat litter under the tires could help and I walked into Amorino hoping to get some salt and try that. The 2 staff who were in there were glad to help, I got about 4 cups of salt from them and spread it under the front tires, and was finally freed from my predicament. THANK YOU so much! Definitely will come back and get gelato with my friends when it gets warm.

It's kind of on the edge of the stretch, not the highest foot traffic area, but definitely one of the worst car traffic spots. They have a set of ordering kiosks, and will call you out when they're ready for your order, including the selection of flavors. I got a crepe with gelato; although it said two flavors were included they offered me three small scoops for some reason, which still wasn't a ton. Honestly just getting the basic gelato in a cone with or without a chocolate or a macaron is better. The location has two floors, and you won't hear the honking so much upstairs. Service left something to be desired; I don't begrudge anyone who works for a living but it was not as high-caliber of an experience as I've had at other Amorinos. It also matters that this isn't the best ice cream in DC or even in Georgetown, and we have local gelato as well.

Very strong flavors across the board with a satisfying creaminess…read more There was a sweet aroma in the air from the waffle cones. A freezer held a wide selection of gelato pints, including some flavors not available in the display case. I appreciated that even the small cup could be split into two flavors. The gelato, vegan options, and sorbetto were all neatly organized, and the staff were generous with portions. Deeper into the shop, there was also a dessert case and a menu for coffee drinks. *Toasted Almond: intensely nutty and very forward in flavor. It tasted almost exactly like almond extract in the best way. One of my favorite nut based gelato flavors I have had. *Vanilla: similarly bold, with a rich and pronounced vanilla flavor. A sweeter take on a classic, but still very satisfying. *Green Tea: well executed with a clear earthiness. It was not overly sweet or milky, making it a solid and above average version. *Cherry Blossom: a seasonal flavor that could have easily felt gimmicky, but was handled well. It reminded me of a lighter lavender honey profile, not overly fragrant or sweet. It tasted natural and paired nicely with creamier flavors. *Espresso: true to its name, though slightly sweeter than expected. It was the least sweet of the group but did not stand out as particularly bold or aromatic. *Honey Mascarpone Fig: my favorite of everything I tried. The mascarpone added a slight tang and depth, while the honey and fig brought a soft, almost jammy sweetness. This was the most balanced flavor and would pair well with many others. While they do not offer as many flavors as some dessert shops, the quality across the board makes up for it. The execution is strong enough that it does not rely on gimmicks, and I would definitely return to try more of their seasonal offerings.

I had a large ($10ish) with three scoops: Hazelnut Crackle (like ferrero rocher), Black and White Cookie Batter, Vietnamese Cinnamon. These all worked pretty well together. The star was the Hazelnut, which did taste exactly like ferrero, which meant it was delicious. I found the cinnamon a bit to punchy on its own (like Red Hots, which I don't like), but it mellowed out when eaten with the other flavors. The Black and White Cookie did taste like one, but that also meant it was not as strong as flavor as the other two.
