    Red Raspberry gelato

I throughly enjoyed my experience here! The staff were really helpful at giving recommendations and creating cute designs for my espresso.

Dolcezza is heaven on earth in gelato form. Dense and intense, yet light and airy. Silky and smooth, yet crystallized and earthy. I can't even describe it, it's something you have to experience.

I tried their seasonal banana spiced iced Matcha and it was delicious. Also try their apple cider and their pumpkin chai. The parking was perfect. It was close to the location as well as the space. It was very clean and welcoming. Maria was very nice and friendly and allowed me to try different flavors of the gelato I love the pumpkin pecan gelato. I also purchased some gelato to go. They actually have really great tasting coffee. Definitely will be back again.

Yumm!! Definitely on the pricier side of gelato ive gotten but their pistachio is so dense and one of my faves. Their scoops are pretty big and the workers were very patient and kind, especially with us sampling different flavors ;) Looking forward to coming back and trying their matcha!

A solid gelato spot for when you're craving dessert in the area. I enjoyed the Roasted Strawberry which was basically a stronger strawberry flavor than normal and thought the stracciatella flavor was solid as well. Service was friendly and were helpful in explaining the different flavors.

Might be one of my favorite gelato places. On the pricier end but its worth it. Fruit flavors are very refreshing. Andrew my buddy who loves sorbey type gelato's was born again from this

Marscapone & Berries Gelato in a Cone

I think I found my new favorite dessert! I came to Dolcezza after having dinner at Hawkers next door, and the space is absolutely adorable, with super friendly workers encouraging me to sample different flavors and sharing their personal favorites. I ended up going with the Marscapone & Berries in a cone, and my LORD was that incredible! The gelato was delicious and rich, and the berry sauce swirled throughout gave it a nice extra kick of sweetness every few bites. The portion was surprisingly big, but of course I finished it all because it would seriously be a sin to leave any behind. I was devastated to learn this is a local chain to the D.C. area and I won't be able to have it again any time soon, so if you're a local I urge you to take advantage of how lucky you are to live near a Dolcezza and stop by to try it!

Tried the blueberry matcha as a big matcha lover, but found the blueberry syrup a bit overpowering. The drink ended up tasting more like a blueberry milk than a traditional matcha. I'd definitely try it again with less syrup to let the earthy matcha flavor shine through more.

King Leo Peppermint Mocha The espresso was smooth, the milk was frothed perfectly, just the right amount of peppermint on top. Delicious and a work of art! Ana out did herself, even with the espresso machine acting up. Make sure you get Ana to make you your lattes, fantastic barista! Highly recommend. #ThisFeedsMySoul

Haven't been here in a while but always great to try on a hot summer day! Service is great! Flavors are yummm!

I was running some errands in the area and happen to be craving something cold and to my surprise I saw someone walk by me with delicious looking I cream from Dolcezza so I searched the place and went to grab some myself right away. It's a cute place with some standing and sitting room to enjoy your ice cream. The staff were very friendly! They do have a lot of options for gelato and iced/hot coffee options, they also have matcha. I got the small size which comes with 2 scoops, I chose the coffee and cookies and the hazelnut crackle, which was a really good choice. It was not the BEST gelato I've ever had, which my favorite spot the gelato is very creamy, but Dolcezza is a great alternative, I would go again. The area is also very nice, so you can grab your gelato and enjoy it sitting by the benches right in front of it, especially in a hot summer day.

    Mascarpone & Berries Small Gelato

It was nice to walk around Besthesda Row with a few of my friends this past Friday evening and exploring the MD area more. While walking around, we saw Dolcezza and suddenly everyone was craving gelato. There was a decently long line given the nice warm weather. SMALL GELATO - 6.05 You can get up to two flavors but I was wowed by the "Mascarpone & Berries" flavor that I got only that. I'm not usually a gelato fan but this one was great! I liked the mascarpone base and the berry chunks/filling gave it a nice tart twist. It was also not too sweet and the perfect dessert for me. There was a lot of seating outside of Dolcezza where my friends were able to sit, talk, and enjoy our gelato. Overall, I'd recommend Dolcezza for a delicious gelato. $6.05 for a small scoop is a tad expensive, but nowadays, everything is just ridiculous.

The staff was kind enough to offer several samples to help me choose the right flavor. I ended up with the coffee flavor, which was delicious! They have so many unique flavors that I've never seen before, and I'm looking forward to going back to try more!

Not all their flavored lattes are created equal (go to a Middle Eastern coffee shop for pistachio, theirs is the typical extract-driven flavor profile). Lots of seating, cool-looking lighting, a great selection of drinks, yummy gelato (I tried the Cherry Blossom -- amazing!), soups, salads, sandwiches, pastries, oh my goodness! The staff are all very nice and welcoming, too .... When I went it was quiet but I hear it can get very crowded and at certain times, the only two upstairs tables are reserved for a runners' group. There are (rather steep, if only a few) stairs and also a ramp to get to the downstairs area, but the ramp is rather long and involves having to make a 180 degree turn. I think it's doable for those who can walk it but if one is using a wheelchair, I'm not so sure because there is a table in the space where some part of a chair-on-wheels might go -- so in other words, if the chair is very narrow, okay! If not, I think maybe not .... I didn't actually measure it, but it just seemed a little narrow to me. The bathrooms have really cool tiles in them, and there is a lot of stony texture on the exterior wall. There are some pretty, inspiring black-and-white paintings and at least one quote painted on the walls outside the bathrooms -- I like these kinds of touches a lot. I found the tomato soup to be much more filling and satisfying than expected, having forgotten one could become quite full on such a dish. I took much of it home and enjoyed it at room temperature on the porch a bit later in the day, so I can attest to the fact that this soup is delicious both hot and cooled down. I was surprised by the taste of the toasted cheese and was informed by my more-astute-than-I dining partner that all their bread is gluten-free. I hadn't noticed. I'm not sure exactly how it normally comes because seeing that they had basil, I requested a leaf and got a very nice-looking sprig! So very fresh, wow! This (early-ish spring) is probably a rather perfect time to enjoy the available outdoor seating area -- maybe I will next time .... I'm especially glad to know that my old fave Filipino grocery store that used to be on this corner has been converted into such a worthwhile, pretty, welcoming, and community-building hub! :-D Overall, highly recommended! Major Yay! :-D

Fantasticks pretty much is a gelato and "gelato pop" shop. The shop has decent selection of pops; I counted about 8-10 varieties during our visit. The concept is pretty cool and easy - you pick your pop base, a dip, a drizzle, and some toppings. One can come up with some very interesting and (hopefully) delicious combinations. I went with a raspberry cheesecake pop with a chocolate hazelnut dip and strawberry (I think) drizzle. I thought the pop was just ok because I'm more used to creamy rather than icy gelato. However, I understand for this to work that the gelato has to be a bit icy so it can maintain the popsicle shape. So, I will not hold the icy texture against the gelato shop. If you are not interested in the gelato pops, the shop has about 12 gelato options. Oh, they even have a few vegan options too. Two gelato pops with the dip and drizzle was about 14 bucks without a tip. The service was pretty good because the two young ladies were very patient with us and explained the process very while. Although I was not a huge fan of the gelato pop, I will return to try some of the regular gelato flavors.

Popsicles, ice cream, and gelato! What more to ask for!??…read more Fantasticks is a new addition to the Silver Spring Town Center area. You can't miss the store with its bright signage, open concept, and cool inside vibe you can see from the street. Fatasticks offers great homemade gelato of many flavors and some of the most eye-appealing popsicles i've ever seen in a quasi-ice cream shop. I stopped by yesterday and was blown away by all of the great flavors and offerings. I tried a Strawberry popsicle and a Double Chocolate, Brownie gelato that was amazing. The flavors were all there, and the profile of the gelato was one of the most I first noticed. It was smooth, creamy and had no lumps or icicles. And it was so good!! I think I may have noticed at least over 25+ flavors of gelato in the store and wanted to try them all. They offer samples....but please don't go ham...trying to try them all in one visit.....because I almost did. lol. The price point and the popsicle offerings were great. The only star deductions of this new store location was the customer service. The customer service was average to borderline nonexistent. There were two employees there and as I walked in the door, and I noticed others walking in the door, no one was greeted nor did anyone behind the counter offer to explain the store concept our offerings. The two employees just stood there looking docile and unbothered, with no interest in wanting to eagerly help folks. This kind of observation and expectation definitely soured my first experience, but definitely not the taste of the product. *Note to the manager and owner: please train your employees on proper customer service and etiquette. It goes a long way and making an oppression on the customer, increasing return visits and more importantly your sales! The products and offerings here on the other hand are amazing. I recommend this store as a must try, but don't expect much on a customer service as I hope it will improve over time. The store has plenty of inside seating and it's bright and very clean. There is a seating area outside as well. It would make the perfect spot for the warmer months to sit outside and enjoy some good gelato and chill, people-watch. In all, I'm sold.....at least on their goods....not so much on the customer service for now. Can't wait to go back tho' and try some of the other offerings!

I wanted the pear salad but don't like Gorgonzola so I asked if we could substitute it, otherwise I'd go for another salad. Our server offered goat cheese, which I love, so I said yes. Complementary focaccia was served but it was room temperature and seemed like it'd been sitting out, so the texture wasn't great. One friend got her salad, and after a while, they tried to serve my other friend her lasagna but she asked where our other two salads were. The servers looked at each other confused and took the lasagna back, then our main server came back and said they couldn't find the goat cheese so they forgot to follow up about if burrata worked instead. That was fine with me and we got our salads. (Side note, I'd recommend a different salad - the pear wasn't for me and the burrata didn't work well with the salad, plus it was a pricey substitution, maybe $5?) Unfortunately, and I regret not taking a photo, I took a bite and bit on something hard and was concerned - I took it out and it was a pea-sized piece of what I think was porcelain. I told the server about it and he said he'd tell the chef. He never followed up, and although I don't expect anything from the exchange, an apology or follow up would've been nice. We all got our mains after wrapping up our salads and we could tell the lasagna was kept in the oven, which is fine, but it was slightly burnt and super hot (my friend had to wait quite a while for it to be tolerable to eat). I had gotten the linguini alle vongole ("Seaside favorite with Little Neck Clams, Garlic, White Wine, Calabrian Peppers, Parsley & Breadcrumbs") but found it to be a bit oily. Overall a disappointing experience. The place was completely full when we left and I assume most there are return customers. It's cute inside and a decent location but with everything that went wrong, I can't recommend this place in good faith.
