lived here for almost 13 months (feb 2025-march 2026)…read more loved the location and size of apartment complex- this was my second prometheus property ive ever lived at (i lived at the hadley prior to this in 2022-2025). while madera is a tad bit older and very Y2K (i think the property is 10-15 years old?) the quality of the structure itself is more robust compared to the hadley. the only pros i liked about this unit were: the location (i love downtown mountain view, the size of the apartment complex (i came from the hadley where that is a super big community- too many people!!! that was too overstimulating. madera is more midsize ), and the sense of community (people were very active on the tenant forum, had seasonal get togethers/ activities, plus the community itself organizes a bi weekly brunch thing (not ran by the madera staff btw, this is soley organized by the people that live here!) yes there is an ant problem like everyone else is saying- ive only observed this in the spring and summer time- use the ant baits they sell at target. my only gripe about this place and reason of why i wouldn't come here again is the quality of maintenance. when i toured the unit i moved into there was a functioning door knob to the outdoor patio- i had this in my video i recorded touring the unit. moving into the apartment, the knob was changed into a weird lock thing where i could only open and lock the door from the inside (see pictures) also the quality of paint at move in wasnt that great. i also attached pictures of what that looked like at the time of move in. you do get charged for paint maintenance at the time of move out so be forewarned that even though you will be charged, the quality of the paint labor isnt even that great for the next tenant. i was not charged for paint at the hadley but that complex is new... idk... im still questioning how apartment complexes come up with these crazy charges i had my fridge replaced mid lease due to ice maker issues. communication was good and everything but i wish they did a more careful job of moving the fridge in and out of my apartment while i was not home at my apartment (i gave them permission to do this while i was in the office). i noticed door scratches/scuffs at my front door and the fridge replacement was not clean (im a clean freak!) i also had a move out inspection i requested to be present in and the maintenance person that was conducting it didnt put his bootie covers on (i have a no shoe in the house policy) - that kinda rubbed me the wrong way. just another reason why i wasnt found of the maintenance quality. living at the hadley, their maintenance puts on booties regardless every time coming into the unit!!! people have complained about the caltrain noise. honestly i dont mind it much lol. i lived in the unit towards the back of the complex (on villa street so i didnt hear much of it) BUT for two years living at the hadley my units were facing evelyn - so i def heard the caltrain noise then... didnt mind it tho but i know those who are sensitive to that would hate it would i live at this community again? probably not. if i ever move back to the apartment life (i now live in a house), i would probably try my luck at 100 moffett who is also ran by prometheus. it is the same community size and similar age of madera... but i am weary of the maintenance staff / quality. maybe i was spoiled by the hadley but if they are all prometheus properties you would expect the same quality all around

We had a very frustrating experience with the leasing office at this apartment, and I feel it's…read moreimportant to share it here. My husband and I were interested in a specific unit and first visited on March 30. At that time, we were told the unit would be ready by Thursday, April 2. We followed up multiple times in person. When we returned on April 2 (Thursday), we were told the unit was still not ready and that it might be ready by Monday, April 6, and that we would definitely be notified. We were even told that our phone number had been clearly noted and "stuck on the computer" so they wouldn't forget to contact us. Because we really wanted this specific unit, we kept following up and ended up visiting the leasing office multiple times over this period. In fact, we interacted with almost everyone in the office -- they all recognized us and knew exactly which unit we were asking about. In order to wait for this unit, we even extended our Airbnb stay, which resulted in additional cost for us. So this wasn't just a matter of time wasted -- it also caused us unnecessary financial burden. However, today (April 8), we saw that the unit is listed online as "available now," and yet no one from the leasing office has reached out to us. This whole process showed a clear lack of communication, accountability, and professionalism from the staff. Despite repeated in-person follow-ups, clear expressions of interest, and their assurances that we would be contacted, we were ultimately ignored. Honestly, in hindsight, I'm glad we experienced this before signing a lease. It gave us a clear picture of how things are handled here, and we now feel very fortunate that we didn't end up renting from this apartment.

Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex.

Lived in meadows apartment for a year and it was great! The greenery and all the beautiful trees…read moremade the complex feel like a little forest. Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend!

I rarely write reviews, but my experience with Verve Mountain View has been so shockingly…read moreunprofessional that I feel compelled to warn others. Here's why: Automatic Payment "Glitch" vs. Rude, Threatening Letters My rent was a few days late because Verve Mountain View's automatic-pay system failed to deduct the funds from my bank account--an issue entirely outside my control. Instead of sending a polite reminder or even a simple "your payment is late" notice, they inundated me with multiple letters dripping in threatening language, accusing me of deliberately shirking payment obligations. They offered zero explanation or apology for their system error. No Prior Notice, No Communication--Just Hostility At no point did I receive a text, email, voicemail, or any warning that the automated payment didn't go through. I've dealt with dozens of landlords and apartment complexes over the years; this is the first time a company blamed me first and asked questions later. Their "late fee" notice was written in a snide, combative tone--no "hello," no "please let us know if you have questions," just curt demands and threats. It felt like they were deliberately trying to intimidate tenants instead of providing straightforward information. Unapologetic, Unaccountable Behavior When I reached out to explain that the problem was on their end, the response was condescending: "It's your responsibility to ensure payments go through," despite having no prior warning that it hadn't. They refused to acknowledge that their own autopay system was malfunctioning. Instead of fixing their backend or at least offering a courtesy call, Verve Mountain View left tenants scrambling to cover surprise late fees--fees we wouldn't owe if their system had worked as advertised. Trust & Respect--Completely Undermined At best, their approach suggests they assume every tenant is dishonest and unresponsive. At worst, they simply don't care if their technology fails, as long as they can slap on extra charges and scare people into paying. The days I spent fielding threatening notices--and rushing around to scramble for extra hundreds of dollars I never should have owed--left me frustrated, stressed, and questioning whether I want to live anywhere that treats tenants this way. Bottom Line: If you value basic courtesy, transparency, and a landlord who actually takes responsibility when their systems screw up, look elsewhere. Verve Mountain View has demonstrated that they'll throw around rude, threatening language at the first sign of any payment hiccup--real or manufactured--without so much as a "sorry for the inconvenience." I can't recommend them, and I'm actively searching for a new apartment because I refuse to support a company that bullies honest tenants instead of fixing its own mistakes.

Each apartment has its own enclosed patio area. The property is quiet, never any issues with noise at random hours of the night. The apartment inside has a surprising little combo plate of comfy carpet upstairs and wood flooring downstairs. The property is across the street from a shopping center with a Safeway, Starbucks, a few restaurants, bank, gas station, and urgent care. Can you imagine a 5 minute walk to go grocery shopping? Yeah, its pretty great. If you hop in the car, Costco, In n Out, and Krispy Kreme are a 5 minute drive. In the mood for a burrito bowl at Chipotol? Great, 5 minutes away. Got a hankering for spam musubi at L&L? 5 minutes. Best Buy got that new Nintendo Switch game for you on hold? 5 minutes. You get it. Last but not least, the property manager, Aldin. He's great. There really isn't another way to put it. He's on top of everything, he's friendly and down to chat when you see him around, and it makes you wonder if we can clone the guy so every property can have an Aldin. (We can't...can we?) Seriously though, nice guy and he's setting the bar for property managers. tl;dr Woodview Apartments is a great place to live, you're going to be 5 minutes from everything, Aldin is dope.

WARNING: Management Refuses to Enforce 'Assigned Parking' - 24-Hour Grace Period for Trespassers…read more This review is to warn current and prospective residents about a critical, unacceptable policy failure regarding assigned parking at 100 Moffett, which Management has formally refused to fix. The Contractual Breach: My lease guarantees an "assigned" and "exclusive" parking space. However, management has an internal policy that grants any unauthorized vehicle a 24-hour grace period before the vehicle is eligible for towing, even after a resident reports the violation. The Result of the Policy: This policy means that even if you pay for an exclusive spot, Management's own rules guarantee a trespasser 24 hours of free, legal use of your property. When I reported an unauthorized vehicle occupying my assigned space, the vehicle remained present for multiple hours despite contacting the patrol, the towing company, and maintenance. This proves the management's enforcement policy is a failure to provide a contracted service, forcing the paying resident to park in unsafe or unassigned areas. Management's Refusal to Resolve: After a detailed exchange of emails, management (Prometheus) has confirmed in writing that: They will not change the policy allowing the 24-hour grace period for assigned spots. They refuse to provide residents with a documented, specific "Urgent Towing Protocol" to bypass the 24-hour waiting period, even after multiple requests. Prospective tenants must be aware: Assigned parking at 100 Moffett is not exclusive. Management knowingly maintains a policy that compromises your exclusive right, fails to enforce the terms of the lease, and provides no documented solution for immediate removal. We are now pursuing formal complaints with the local Housing Authority regarding the loss of a contracted housing service.

It was nice to be just across the street from Caltrain, downtown Mountain View, and the farmers market. - Nice amenities. The pool, hot tub, lounge, and roof deck are all great. The Bad: - Homeless people. Your balcony will be unusable if you live on the first floor because of the homeless people who frequent the bus stop on Castro. There was a bag of human feces propped against my balcony. - Caltrain noise. You won't be able to leave your windows open at night unless you want to be awakened by the unbelievably loud demon shriek of trains passing every ~40 minutes throughout the entire night. - Surprise charges. I was charged a mysterious "painting fee" and "deep cleaning fee" when I moved with no warning or mention in my lease. - Price. The apartments are significantly more expensive than several other options in the area. This made sense before COVID-19 because of the premium location, but that doesn't matter when you're in lockdown.

LOVE. Living. At. The Marc…read more We have been living at the Marc for almost three years (and just renewed for a fourth!) and couldn't be happier here. Coming from a world of New York luxury high rises, our bar was set very high. We totally fell in love with the Marc. First off, the building's location can't be beat - just two blocks away from University Ave: you get all the action while having calm surroundings. Second, the apartments are great - spacious, well maintained and the balconies are incredible. We are on the west side and literally get amazing sunsets every night. It doesn't really matter that the building is several decades old - the apartments have been updated and Ruffino and the maintenance crew will take care of any issues. Third, amenities are terrific - pool, barbecues, gym (just renovated a few weeks ago!). Finally: the community. Hats off to Linda - master property manager - who has created an incredible community of people who want to hang out with each other! There are regular mixers at the Marc that are very well attended and our neighbors are genuinely nice and friendly people. All the above points make for a great place, but this brings it over the line as a one-in-a-million place. If you come meet Linda or Larissa to inquire about a unit and life at the Marc and if that wasn't enough to convince you, just say hi and ask around to any of the neighbors you meet up in the hallway. Everyone will be delighted to tell you how awesome it is to live here! Here's to many more great times at the Marc!
