I previously lived in The Meadows for 7 years until I bought a house and moved out. My workplace is close-by, and sometimes after lunch we walk through the outside ring parking to reach Middlefield and return to the office. Today, two of us were walking through chatting, and a Meadows property manager/worker yelled at us from across the parking lot, maybe 40 yards away, asking who we were. Thinking he had mental issues or a salesman, we kept walking. He then approached and harassed us, screaming about how we were trespassing, continuing verbal abuse and harassment and followed us until we left the property. We talked quietly, did not approach anyone, hang door tags, play music, or toss trash. We didn't go into the center apartment area. We're both computer professionals. This employee could have gotten on his golf cart and quietly told us sorry we cannot walk thru his parking lot and to kindly exit the premises. Instead, he chose to yell threateningly across a parking lot and come after us with verbal abuse. A good way to judge apartment management is how they treat visitors. Because as residents, you're going to get more of that - or worse. Stay away from this complex. read more

Lived in meadows apartment for a year and it was great! The greenery and all the beautiful trees made the complex feel like a little forest. Meadows is very safe and it's also in a good location - it is right off of Central expressway and it's close to 237 and 101. Apartment was spacious as well. I also thought the gym was great and bigger than a lot of other apartment gyms so amenities as good here. There is a community pool as well. The management company was very responsive with service requests. We had an issue where the central AC was spewing out dead bugs so the maintenance team quickly came in and gave us a new AC. Meadows also hosts some events every couple months (coffee station, Easter egg hunt, food trucks, etc.) which made the apartment complex feel more like a community. One of the drawbacks about this complex is the lack of natural light in the some of the apartments. Because of all the tall redwood trees and the direction of our apartment, we didn't get much light. For the most part, we had our lamps turned on all the time. And because of the trees, leaves would fall into our balcony so we had to frequently clean that up. We decided to leave once the lease was up as we found a place with more natural light closer to our offices and meadows was going to increase the rent by $250 a month. If it wasn't for the light situation, probably would have continued to stay here. Overall I enjoyed living here, and if you are ok with less natural light or you are able to get an apartment facing the right direction, then I recommend! read more

My husband and I lived here for a few years and only have good things to say - David and the whole team are always kind and professional. Any small maintenance requests we put in were taken care of within 24 hours. The price seems fair compared to other similar locations - the gym, pool and hot tub were all great and routinely maintained. The trees/flowers around the complex are gorgeous, and it's very family-friendly (playground in the complex). They try to foster a sense of community by having events around the holidays and getting food trucks to come by during the summer. I'd definitely recommend it if you're looking to live in Sunnyvale! read more

The Meadows was one of the best rental experiences I've ever had. I would give this place a 10/5! The maintenance team is very responsive and competent and the facility is kept spotless. The landscaping is BEAUTIFUL. I loved being able to wake up and go on a walk in what felt like a personal park. The hot tub, swimming pool, and gym are also well maintained. The management team does an excellent job of relaying information about any maintenance going on in the parking lot, fire alarm testing, etc. David cares a lot about making sure the Meadows is a pleasant experience for the renters and he is great at what he does! Both the move in AND move out experiences were seamless and I never felt like I was getting scammed or blindsided (which unfortunately cannot be said about every management, especially one of this size). I lived here for shorter term (5-month) lease with my cat while I started a new job in the Bay Area. The pool and hot tube are amazing and I'll miss the gym as well. The property was kept clean and my maintenance request (broken fridge door) was delt with on the same day. Most importantly, when I moved to a new place closer to my job up the peninsula, they helped me end my lease early. The whole process was really smooth, and it suppressed me because most places I've rented from have nickel-and-dimed me, while this place actually seemed to care about their tenants and they always have someone there to pick up the phone during the day. The Meadows has been our home for the past two years and the journey has been amazing. Property: The Meadows is centrally located with a beautiful and well maintained open landscape of trees and flowers. The grounds and facilities are kept clean every day by the friendly courteous workers. It is a quiet neighborhood. The nearby park is nice to take a stroll and the neighbors are friendly too. The apartment is centrally located and close to Mountain View and Sunnyvale downtowns, highway 101, grocery stores. Management: David, Maridel, Amanda, and the entire staff have been a pleasure to work with. They are really exceptional and some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. They will always greet you with a smile and are very helpful to our needs. They are quick to attend to any problems that arise and go beyond to make you feel at home. They are very responsive to your maintenance requests. Amenities: They have a nice gym, a pool, a yoga room, grills, and a playground for kids. I loved participating in their Pilates, Yoga, Zumba, BollyX classes organized by Swyft Fitness throughout the week. The community often gathers during events such as Easter, Christmas, Halloween, the occasional Social Media contests, Raffle, etc. We also enjoy eating from the different food trucks which often come to the complex. Apartment Units: They are all very well kept. Plenty of storage and great appliances. Even though it is a big apartment complex, with a lot of tenants, however, we have never once felt it was crowded. There have been few incidents of silverfish and snails during the rainy season, but after getting the pest control done it has subsided. Safety: Overall the complex is very safe with police car patrolling throughout the day. In the two years, we have just had one incident of theft of our bicycle being stolen from the patio. We recommend putting a heavy-duty U-lock to be on the safer side. Parking: Each unit is assigned one parking spot located conveniently near your home. There is also ample parking available for the guests. We have never had an issue with guests not being able to find parking. Please note that pets other than cats are not allowed. So if you plan to adopt a dog like us in the long run then it might not work out for you. But overall we have loved every day spent on this beautiful property. We would recommend this place to anyone looking out in the area. read more

I was a resident at the Meadows for just over 2 years and had an amazing experience. The whole Meadows staff team is super helpful if you ever have questions. Rodney is so wonderful, and takes care of all maintenance requests quickly and efficiently. We once had a fire alarm go off after midnight and he came to help us. He always went above and beyond. David, the property manager, cares a lot about the property and keeps the place so nice. Walking around the residence is like walking in a big park. All the amenities are very well kept and clean [gym, pool, etc.]. For my roommates and me, this was our first place renting post college, and David and the whole team were always very kind and supportive. I have lived at the Meadows for almost two years, and have enjoyed being a resident, along with my cat! Things I appreciate about being a resident here: David and the entire office staff have been fantastic, receptive, communicative and kind from the start. They make every effort to be friendly and ease things like the renewal process, which can sometimes be stressful. I have only had two minor maintenance issues since I moved here, and both were handled swiftly and effectively. Maintenance is respectful of my space when they come in. The grounds and landscaping are quite beautiful and clean. It is nice to even take a stroll through the grounds to my mailbox. A lot of residents walk around the complex, which is always nice to see active residents. Safety has not been a concern of mine since I lived here. I have seen a patrol car here and there, which is a nice assurance to have every so often. Monthly pet rent is reasonable and fair here compared to other complexes. My senior cat is family/a kid to me, so it has always struck me as unreasonable and unkind when some other complexes have charged exorbitant amounts for pet rent. They offer complimentary carpet cleaning after you have lived here for each year (this is a nice touch, and makes a rental feel newly clean...it's the little things). A lot of storage space in the units themselves, which is a big plus. They have a quality gym and offer nice community events (I especially appreciate the Halloween one). I hope to attend more this upcoming year, because they have events for almost every holiday. Assigned parking, but also ample additional parking for guests or yourself. Parking has never been a hassle. Central location, near a couple parks, and convenient to freeways. Overall, the Meadows has been a good landing spot for me in the Bay Area, and I look forward to renewing for another year! read more

My husband and I have lived here for a few years as he works for LinkedIn, which is right around the corner. The apartment is great and the staff both in the leasing office and on the grounds are exceptional. They are always prompt with responses and really do go the extra mile to make the tenants happy. On top of that, I want to note how wonderfully kind they have been to my family. We recently moved to Boulder Creek to move into a house and unfortunately we're evacuated when the fires tore through our neighborhood. With so much uncertainty and little else but the clothes on our back, we contacted the Meadows and they immediately put us back into our old apartment that they hadn't yet leased and let us know that they would be happy to have us as long as we needed. They allowed us a special lease due to our circumstances and even rented us furniture so that we could have a nice bed to sleep in. They even went and gifted us a ton of home supplies, snacks, etc to help us feel settled and at home. We couldn't be more grateful to the staff here and would definitely recommend them to anyone. They have been unbelievably kind to us and we will definitely miss them when we leave. read more

I've lived at The Meadows for over 2.5 years now in a 1 bedroom apartment and it has been a fantastic experience. First, the biggest thing you notice when you visit The Meadows is its beautiful exterior! The Meadows is quite aptly named with so many trees, flowers, and plants - all continually well taken care of. This is a fantastic place to walk around (even at night) and really makes you feel like you are living in nature. I've never had any concerns about safety while at The Meadows. The way that the apartments are set up really makes you feel like you have your "own" space, as opposed to many other apartments which give a sort of hotel-y vibe. The interior layout is also great. Their use of space and mirrors really makes the place feel quite spacious. The attached storage unit is one of the largest I've seen. The staff are friendly and extremely responsive. I have never had an issue with management at all, and it always seems like they are doing whatever they can to keep their residents happy. Their positive attitude (special call out to Amanda and David) seems to permeate through The Meadows. When you walk around, everyone seems happy, kids are playing and having fun, and everyone smiles at you. That sort of intangible feeling really makes The Meadows a great place to stay. More tangibly though, talk about VALUE! Before moving in here, I toured dozens of different places and not only was The Meadows the nicest and most friendly, it was also the most reasonably priced. That is not even considering the fact that they also cover all utilities except for electricity! They are also continually upgrading the complex (new pool, new firepit, etc) and yet they've never once raised my rent. On the contrary, they were extremely kind and flexible with handling the pandemic. I've had Comcast internet the entire time I was here and it is fast (600mbps down) and has had no issues. I have only called maintenance twice (minor things like changing the fire alarms that started beeping and help unclogging a drain). They were immediately responsive, coming within just a few hours even though the issue wasn't urgent. Highlight: I once raised a concern about some of the exterior lighting outside being a bit too bright in my window at night and that the light leaking in through the blinds was enough to disturb my sleep. They promptly responded saying they will look into it and within just a few days, they had adjusted it so that it was no longer an issue. Amazing!! In the spirit of trying to be objective :), here a few minor nitpicks that are nice to know for anyone who is considering moving in here: - Lots of speed bumps which can make for a bumpy ride if you have to go all the way around the complex - The kitchen appliances are a bit outdated. Fully functional, but doesn't give a very modern feel (though worth noting that the washer/dryer do seem quite new) - Wall AC in the Living Room rather than Central Air. It does the job but is a bit less than ideal on those few hot summer weeks. Floor heater in the bedroom though I never felt the need to use it. - Gym does not have a bench/squat rack (though I have yet to find any apartment in the area that offers this so I feel this is just to be expected) - Fire alarm in the kitchen goes off too easily when cooking anything. You learn to work around it but it is admittedly a bit annoying. - Delivery drivers sometimes struggle to find the correct building (perhaps the building letters could use some more lighting at night) - Mobile server may be poor depending on your provider and phone. I have Google Fi and have had no issues. Like I said, those are just a few minor nitpicks - frankly they are the only ones I could think of. Overall, this is a fantastic place and I really could not find a better place to stay in the area (even at a 50% markup to The Meadows). I have referred 5 different friends to The Meadows and all of them have loved it here (so much so that they then referred even more people)! I wholeheartedly recommend The Meadows to anyone looking to stay in the area. read more

Wonderful location, plenty of parking, most transparent, professional and human staff, David and his team are the best. Not to mention best in class amenities and wonderful landscape. Many people ignore the landscape but while living here i realized how important/beneficial it is to live near mother nature. I have lived in more than 6 different communities in LA and bay area region and toured many of them; The meadows is the best one i have encountered till now. I really have no words to express my gratitude and how good the apartment community is. To gave an example, I had a very unreasonable request and literally i was feeling bad about even asking it that i wanted to install the RO for my drinking water purpose and believe me that ro installation is a nightmare. It really is as good as it gets... We spent a little over 6 years here and have cherished memories we will take for our lives. I really don't know of an apartment in SouthBay which will beat the package Meadows has to offer. With amazing amenities both inside the Unit and within the apartment complex coupled with the excellent service, it would be hard to find any better. It is hard to describe something that has worked perfect but here goes a gist for the inquisitive reader... Unit : Depending on the location, the light inside the apartment would vary. we really did not hear much noise from our neighbors.. no footsteps from the ones above us and so on.. so the insulation is very good. The 2 bedrooms have a living room in-between. Kitchen is really modern. The unit square footage is lesser but the ambience and the complex make up for it.In Unit washer dryer Maintenance: Impeccable. Amazing staff. You really can't get a better service. Gym : Free Weights, punching bag - boxing , row , upper body pull up equipment, TRX and more. They have weekly classes 2 times a week which you can participate. Pool: Not really a lap swim pool but very picturesque.Kids have a great time. Other: Great community events for Spring,Fall,Halloween,Easter, Christmas,SuperBowl etc. A decent size community room that can be rented for events (Including Grill). Safe kids playing area. Fresh Breeze around with the Redwoods and Pine trees.. Peaceful.. Parking : One slot per car and plenty of parking around . Greenery and Kids areas are at safe distance from parking.You really don't need to worry that kids running out of the house would be running into the street .. Weak cell Phone signal is one con I had to contend with. A lot of things to love about this place: *Beautiful landscape: nice gardening, redwood trees *Spacious apartment: more than we expected, especially its 1br units. Storage unit on the balcony is also bigger than most -- if not all -- other apartment communities we saw. *Quick responding from the maintenance team: they will fix your problems fast. *Friendly management team: Very helpful staff. Many thanks to Summer, David, Maridel! *Nice location: on the boundary between Mountain View and Sunnyvale, easy access from 237 (1 block away so you won't hear the noise from the traffic there). If you work at LinkedIn, then it is perfect -- of course when we can all go back to office. A few minor cons (we don't find them to be big problems for us, but FYI): *silverfish: Once in a while we can see one or two on the wall. We saw a couple of spiders also during our 1.5 year stay here. But there are definitely not serious insect problems. *noise from neighbors: This is true for almost every apartment communities even the fancy ones in town. No walls are sound-proof. But unless your upstair neighbors like jumping around and yelling all the time, you probably won't be bothered that much. We find this place to be very quiet until the day our upstair neighbors moved out -_^ Oh, sometimes you might hear the cal-train if you really pay attention ( the railway is far away in the south ). My wife and I lived at The Meadows for almost 3 years and it is by far the best apartment complex I have lived at (and I stayed at several during my time in the Bay Area!) A few great things about this place: - It's centrally located near several highways/expressways and close to both downtown Sunnyvale and Mountain View. - The lush, tall trees throughout the property are nice and serene. - The property managers are always improving things. During our time there, they installed nice new benches, upgraded all the gym equipment, coordinated with a local fitness studio to add free weekend classes, and upgraded solar panels. - Great pool and hot tub - Maintenance is always prompt, nearly always coming the next day and bookable online (although we only needed it a few times for small issues). - The complex is just generally quiet and pleasant, even our unit along Middlefield Road--we never really heard noise. - Responsive management: David in particular has been there many years and helped us every step of the way. We only left because we moved out of state, otherwise likely would have stayed here indefinitely. GREAT apartment, miss it and would recommend to anyone in the South Bay! read more

With the permission to enter, everything was resolved within 12 hours. + Ample Guest Parking. + Decent gym and pool. + Great community events. Plenty of cool gifts distributed in those events. + EV charging spots Cons - There used to be network issue at times for AT&T cellular. - Weak walk score. The standout thing about this place was stress-free move out. We were provided with multiple options when our lease was due for a renewal. To help us make a decision, data points from previous years were also provided. I really appreciate this part which I haven't across any other communities. I'd have definitely continued at this place had I not have to relocate. Moreover, final deposit returned was in sync with the rough estimate provided to us after a move-out inspection. We LOVE the meadows!!!!! It is great value for the price!! This had been our home for over five years until we bought our own place. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. The appliance is of great quality, we had a few minor maintenance service, they handled them timely, and we never got charged for them. The public common area has everything we need, and is always maintained beautifully. Enjoy the gym, pool, barbecue, kid's playground, and greenery ( i think it's much better than many other apartment homes in the area). Special shoutout for David who helped us tremendously during our move-out. He was very professional and considerate to our situation. He even helped me receive a long-due package after I moved out. Our stay with the Meadows was almost a perfect experience. On holidays and occasions, the festive parties were very thoughtful and family-friendly. After we moved out, we surprisely got our full deposit back thanks to the generous cleaning policy - I think they offer an annual carpet cleaning etc. and that covered our final cleaning charge. read more

Pros: - The grounds are lovely (lots of redwood trees) and it's safe here. - Close to lots of offices for work (LinkedIn, Apple, Google shuttles, etc) - Cats are allowed (not dogs though, sorry) - The pool is never busy, so it's inviting, and the complex hosts nice parties from time to time - Price is decent compared to the other apartments here. And there are no pests. - Maintenance shows up within a day every time - Sort of a neutral fact but it may be a con: There isn't central AC/Heat in the apartment since the shade of the trees keeps it cool enough. You just get one AC/heat unit in the living room and a heater in the bedroom. Cons: - You will always hear your neighbors talking on the other side of the wall or stomping around at all hours in the day. I personally can hear my upstairs neighbor using the effing toilet every day and slamming the lid each time... No joke, you can hear them peeing, which is exactly what I want to hear in the peace and quiet of my own home. :eyeroll: Sometimes one guy makes long phone calls at 1am at night while I'm trying to sleep and I hear it all. I told the office and they contacted my neighbors to try and fix this, but not much changed and honestly it's not the neighbor's fault that the building walls are made of styrofoam. With all the renovating they do and rent increases, this should be a priority instead of the grounds. - You may get lucky and have a well-lit apartment, but mine sure gets no natural light for the most part. And there's no ceiling fixture installed in the bedroom or living room despite there being a switch and no natural light (???). There's a fan over the dining room, but it should really be in the bedroom instead. My solution was swag lights and floor lamps, but an extra window would be nice. There are only two windows in my unit. - Hardwood floors aren't in each unit; the model apartment is a lie. You'll still end up with tacky beige carpet and oak brown cabinets if style matters at all to you. The cabinet doors also fall off sometimes. - The outdoor storage is decent, but inside the closets are too small, and they have sliding mirror doors that get in the way. I didn't remove them yet but I might so I can actually utilize that space. I also removed the laundry room door because it slammed into the fridge, and the extra door in the bathroom. Speaking of the fridge, the shelves slide around more than I'd like and it's not magnetic. And there aren't enough wide cabinets for pots and pans - I don't have an excessive amount of those, but I still had to buy an extra cabinet to conveniently store them. - Appliances are new and most are ok, but the dishwasher is kinda small and the dryer beeps at you every 5 minutes unless you use dryer balls. Seriously, buy them if you rent here, it changed my life. The toilet doesn't always flush all the way and you have to hold the handle down, so plumbing is not amazing. When the washer is going sometimes it comes back up into the sink. The hot water does come on quickly though, so that's a plus. - Hard to find good delivery in the area since it's all offices nearby and most restaurants I saw (even within 5 miles or a neighborhood over) won't deliver due to traffic. They have to be even closer than that. - There are too many effing speed bumps - seriously there are 7-10 just to get in and out of the complex from my parking space. It adds extra time to my commute and people don't know how to drive over a speed bump. They act like it's a stop sign. And the covered parking is too narrow - your side mirrors might hit a pole and you'll never be able to open the car doors all the way. This was my first bay area apartment, so maybe the standards here are different, but I've lived in several other apartments before with about the same amount of good reviews, and yet those at least lived up to my expectations. I was seriously disappointed with The Meadows based on how many people raved and praised this place online. If you ask me? It's completely average and you can do better. read more

This is a quiet, friendly and safe community. The most underrated feature in this community is the landscape. Walking around the community can feel like walking in a park. Throughout the two years our family stayed there, we never had any issues with noise, maintenance, etc. As a resident, it feels apparent that the management cares about the residents, and the management takes a lot of pride in keeping the community clean and safe for everyone. When we had to move out early to break our lease, the management was very accommodating, and they made sure that all of our questions were answered. The only reason we moved is to get a bigger place as our kids are older now. A 2BR unit in the Meadows are ~925 sq.ft. We would happily stay there if bigger units were available! Area: The area around is very nice. It's very green, the complex buildings are surrounded with trees, flowers, grass. There is an Encinal park in 5 mins walking distance. The Meadows buildings territory is surrounded with a wall (visible from the Google Maps) and a security patrol car at night which gives a better sense of security even for walks at night. Management: Very good. No complaints at all. Management (David, Maridel, etc) are very responsive and human. You got a personal response and attitude. It feels more like a small community. Maintenance requests are responded and fixed usually within a day. Residents: We got a lot of new friends there. People and quiet and nice there. We had no issue with the noise from the neighbours or the pool (our apartment was right next to the pool and hot tub). Money: Year-to-year price change was very reasonable ~4%. In 2020 due to virus situation and lowering rental price everywhere, we got a price reduction offer. A nice perk is that you only pay for electricity (~$40-60 per month for us). Water, sewage, and trash is covered. Parking is free and you got a covered personal place. Amenities: There is a solid set of amenities: grills, a gym, a playground, a heated pool (got closed for renovation in 2020), a yoga room, that is also bookable for private parties (before COVID). read more

Took a tour at the Meadows - Very clean garden and apartments. Although we did not lease with them, the leasing team was very helpful.

We've lived here for about 3 months so far, and it has been amazing. David gave us a very thorough tour when we were looking around apartments, and answered all of our question. The leasing process was smooth and they make it very easy. The complex is beautiful - lots of trees and flowers, but there's also enough open, green spaces that it doesn't feel too dark/dense, like other apartment complexes. And everything is very well groomed. The roads don't create too much noise, the nearby park is nice, and the neighbors are also pretty quiet (but we've only lived here during the lockdown - it might be more active usually). The apartments are also well kept up. Great wood cabinets in the kitchen, Bosch washer/dryer, and good dishwasher/oven/microwave. The storage unit is pretty spacious as well. Carpeting is good - it's actually soft, unlike other places I've lived in. Management is very responsive to maintenance requests. So far I haven't waited longer than the next day. We made a note about a wasp nest forming on a fire sprinkler one night, and it was gone by 11am the next day. They regularly clean the stairwells/areas around the apartments also. A nice perk is that you only pay for electricity - they cover gas, water, sewage, and trash. Parking is free. The only bugs we've seen so far in the apartment are the very occasional silverfish. As far as other amenities go, they have a nice gym, a yoga room, some grills, a playground for kids, and a pool. Haven't used the pool yet - again, due to the lockdown. No issues with the mailboxes either. read more

The Meadows is the 8th apartment I've lived in the SF Bay Area. It is my favorite out of the 8 apartments. I don't intend to move unless my life requires a location change. LOVES +Integrity in the rental price I got a great deal on the rental price because a person broke a lease, and the Meadows wanted to fill it right away. A year later, I was worried about a hike in the rental price. (My previous apartment raised the rental price by $400 in a year). To my surprise, my renewal lease went DOWN by $40. It's not much, but does that even happen in the Bay Area anymore!?! +AMAZING maintenance service All of my maintenance requests have been addressed within 12 hours of filing it. +Quality living Granite tops, real wood cabinets, stainless kitchen appliances, clean and fluffy carpet (which they clean once a year on their dime), double pane windows, a lot of greenery, heated pool, ample parking, a safe neighborhood. +Convenient location It's in a unique intersection of Central Expressway, 101, 85, and 237. Literally a couple of minutes away from speedy travels. +Community events They host superbowl viewing parties, Halloween party, Thanksgiving, Easter eggs picking, etc.. they even have yoga instructors at the gym once a week. All on their dime. I once won a $50 gift card to Amazon by attending one of their super fun community events. +Balcony closet This won over my boyfriend, as he is able to fit a lot of his nice bikes in the room-sized balcony closet (with a light)! +EV charging and SOLAR on their roof I don't need / use the EV charging, but how eco-conscious is this apartment??? -- CAN BE BETTER -Laundry I do my laundry at work so it's not a huge issue, but I imagine it can be for people who don't have free laundry at work. A few times I tried to do laundry, the clothes always came out sopping wet. I don't do laundry at home anymore. -Noise One of the perks of being right next to the local freeways unfortunately has a downside for me, being that I live in front of Central Expressway. I don't hear anything when the window is shut, but when the window is open, it's quite noisy. -- As you can see, the Meadows isn't perfect. But it's perfect enough that I would happily give it a 5-star rating despite a few minor flaws. -- EDIT: 1 hr of writing this review, the leasing manager contacted me about the laundry. My wife and I lived at The Meadows for 6 months during our townhouse renovation. The best aspects of staying at The Meadows are: 1) the lushly landscaped grounds, 2) the friendly and responsive office staff, and 3) the large and modern gym. We highly recommend this apartment complex. If we need an apartment in the future, we would not hesitate to move to The Meadows. We looked at over 10 apartments in the South Bay before deciding to rent at The Meadows. The first thing that attracted us was the beautiful landscaping, with many redwood trees, grassy areas, and planted beds. It was the perfect retreat after a hard day's work. Of all the apartments in the South Bay, no other apartment comes close in the quality of the natural landscaping. We met with three of the staff, Max, Maridell, and Amica on our initial visits. All were friendly, easy going, and worked with us to accommodate our needs for rent and move-in date. During our 6 month stay, they continued their welcoming attitude and were very responsive to our needs. One problem we encountered was a smoking downstairs neighbor who continued to smoke even after the Sunnyvale smoking ban in apartments went into effect. Amica worked with us to notify our smoking neighbor in attempting to rectify the problem. Aside from being friendly and responsive, the staff was professional in every way. When we moved out, David was very fair and efficient in working with us. After a very small cleaning fee deduction, our deposit was returned promptly. Most apartments that we visited had gyms for working out. The gym at the Meadows was the largest apartment gym that we had encountered. The equipment was varied with many weight and cardio machines. In addition, three walls were lined with large windows that look out on the green trees and lush landscape. The maintenance staff at The Meadows was also a highlight. Jose, our maintenance go-to person, was very responsive and fixed any problems quickly and professionally. He is very pleasant and always gives us a smiling hello whenever we see him. The location of The Meadows is very convenient. It is right off Central Expressway as well as Highways 237 and 101. It is located in a technology area with many professionals. A small strip mall is nearby that has Korean, Japanese, Indian, and Pizza restaurants. Other advantages of staying at the Meadows include free ample parking for our second car, a large storage room off our balcony, and other storage rooms available for rent on the grounds. The few downsides worth mentioning are: 1) the in-unit washer/dryer can be loud, and 2) during the daytime, it can be dark inside the apartment without the lights on. In summary, we highly recommend The Meadows if you are looking for an apartment in the South Bay Area. Beautiful grounds, friendly, responsive, and professional staff members, and a large and modern gym for working out are the things that would bring us back. read more

Where to even begin with this place. We moved to CA from Texas last year and came to look for apartments before moving and we picked this one easily!! I made SO many precious friends here and my son was able to find sweet little playmates. Lots of diversity here also. And the grounds are kept immaculate and management cares about every little thing you need . Someone who actually does not suck at life is in charge of this place. I am so grateful to have discovered The Meadows. I first discovered them on Yelp when I was in a panic and urgently looking for accommodations. I'm so glad to have met Maridel and the staff and to have made this my home. My story: I had just relocated and moved into a "luxury apartment" in San Jose, where just days into my move I found pests and insects (like a dead cockroach), and I was told it is "normal" to occasionally find pests such as cockroaches roaming around the South Bay, and to expect them from time to time. (I'm dead serious.) I was disgusted by this (naturally), and refused to accept this answer. So I decided to move (again), checked out a handful of places, with the Meadows initially being last on my list since it was so far from my job in San Jose. Well, despite the distance, I felt the most comfortable with them and I have been very happy with my decision to move there. First of all, I learned a valuable Yelp lesson - good reviews aren't as good as LOTS of good reviews. Meaning, I appreciate that this community had a long history of reviews - something important to look for nowadays as Yelp becomes more and more important to new businesses who can "influence" their first few customer reviews, and sucker people in (as happened to me previously). Anyways, the manager Maridel was kind, transparent, accommodating, and most of all empathetic to my experiences in the last place with the pests. While every apartment can have occasional issues, she promised me that my prior experience was unacceptable and would not be tolerated in this community - and she kept her word. As I've lived here for a while, any minor issues were addressed quickly. Of course there are occasional bugs and what not in California, but they do an excellent job of maintaining the units and the area. For example, I noticed bees near my car, let Maridel know, and the next day, no bees at all! Haven't seen any since. Seasonally there may be occasional silverfish in the area, but they do a spray and presto they're gone! The maintenance staff is also excellent with helping with any requests. In addition to cleanliness, I feel the area is safe, and it is very quiet with the exception of occasional street traffic or distant train noise, (which is not loud at all and actually somewhat soothing to me). There are no loud pets, the walls are thick, and the neighborhoods just feels calm and relaxed. It's normal to see a grandma or a mom with kids walking around the area - that should be a sign of a calm, clean and safe place. Obviously, it's a nice complex with great amenities, as you can see on their site. Sure it's not the brand newest and most excuisite complex in the world - but who needs or has time for that? We are in Silicon Valley, we work hard, we need quality living, not superficial living. They have a gym, a pool, a party room, jacuzzi, and an electronic shipment system for mail that allows package pickup 24/7. I could go on and on but they have all the amentities you could ask for. They also hold fun social events and find fun ways to celebrate every holiday. Bottom line, this complex is the real deal. I wouldn't have thought I'd accept a 20-30 minute commute for my new job, but there's a certain value to cleanliness and peace of mind when you come home. In my opinion, if you have to live in the Bay for work, and you have to pay the market price, you should make sure to get the best bang for your buck, and the quality of living at The Meadows has outweighed the vain appeal of a "sexy" new building that looks pretty on the outside but has a lot of filth on the inside. Smart shoppers should definitely tour the Meadows and consider it. EASY 5 STARS! read more

We lived in the community for a year and LOVED it! The grounds and property are beautiful, groundskeepers and maintenance staff are so friendly. Absolutely loved living in Redwood trees:) Many of the units have been remodeled with new carpet, flooring and updated finishings in bathroom and kitchen. Maintenance requests are always responded to quickly and promptly, it's really wonderful. The gym, heated pool and hot tub on site are amazing additions and great to have for before or after work! For Southbay this is one of the nicest communities we have seen at a "reasonable price". The price is a little high but worth it when you start comparing to other rental properties. Also, it is super quiet. Many members of the community are families or older young professionals! Units are fairly quiet too. Occasionally can hear shower from neighbors, but overall very sound proof (again comparing to other units in Southbay). Lastly, located close to everything, super easy to access major highways, public transit, downtown Mountain View and Sunnyvale! read more

My wife and I kept an apartment at The Meadows in Sunnyvale for two years after we sold our boat and moved ashore. We truly believe it is the best apartment complex in the Sunnyvale/Mountain View area. It's an older complex but the buildings have been renovated and are incredibly comfortable and quiet. The grounds are beautiful for a Bay Area apartment complex with massive old growth Redwood and other mature trees that are unique for complex's in this area. The fitness center and pool, that was recently redone, provide convenient onsite access for these amenities at no added expense. The maintenance team is also fantastic. We didn't have many issues but when we did they were resolved within 24hrs. This is a great way place to be if you need a place in the Bay Area with easy freeway access to get anywhere on the peninsula. read more
