Updated review: We have been constantly dealing with the smell of weed in the early hours of the morning. We have to close our windows and turn on the air conditioning to avoid our apartment stinking up and management has not been helpful to address this issue head on. We have been very patient but this has been going on for months and is completely unacceptable especially with a young child at home. Until this issue is resolved I cannot in good faith give a higher rating. read more

Greendale is the best apartment community for peaceful living. Neighbours are courteous, and considerate. Both the Apartment managers Jovice and Amy are friendly and prompt at addressing resident requests. Landscaping is out of the world. The greenery and shade attracts lots of birds , squirrels and ducks to play around creating a calming atmosphere. In short this is a dream I don't want to wake up from. Except, I keep waking up every night because of the weed smell. Sometimes it just engulfs the entire apartment in the middle of the night when we keep the windows open. It has caused us sleep deprivation and has affected our quality of life. It is a smoke free community only on paper. Not one bit ideal if you have kids. read more

Greendale apartment is well maintained, walking inside it is pretty much like walking in a garden. When move in they did a great job to make the room ready, things are very clean, new paint, floor is shiny, stove and sink are clean too. They put lots of effort to give people good impression. When file a ticket to maintenance, their responding time is amazing, things get fixed within one business day. Appreciate the effort they put to keep this complex in great shape. read more

Naza and Jovice are the best! We've had a couple of issues with our apartment (leaking from the sink, fire alarms, etc.) and Naza has always been quick in getting the issue resolved. Almost 2 years we have been staying and it feels home.all amenites and garden are qell maintained...good open parking available...for kids small video game booth are required to keep them entertained. 2 Pools, office working soce, pool room, gym, mini outdoor golf, and extra outddor lundry and one covered garage parking are good amenities. 8 hours night time security is requested insted of few rounds. I've lived in a handful of apartments, but I have never encountered management that is so attentive and quick to respond. The maintenance requests are also handled immediately. Our technician, Naza, is very kind and informed. I can trust that things will be fixed or everyone will at least do their very best effort to solve any issues. (I also read some of the negative reviews for the apartment complex and I have to say that I can't relate. people here are friendly, I feel like construction is inevitable in most places where development is booming, and even though I've encountered silverfish, the maintenance crew came in and fixed the issues and made sure that the solution worked) I've been here four months and all I have to say is so far so good! read more

We've been living here for almost a year while waiting out the remodeling of our home. It is a very nice complex to live at and I really enjoy the landscaping and large trees around the complex. Jovice, the resident manager, is sweet and friendly. Amy, a newer manager,is also a rockstar. She was able to show me different apartments and really stuck to social distancing and mask guidelines regarding COVID. The surrounding greenery and area is beautiful and the commons are well kept by maintenance. Very clean and professional area. Safe with families and can hear children playing and laughing (during the day). Per COVID, many of the amenities are closed but are promised to reopen once county restrictions lessen. The management has been lovely and created an outdoor weightlifting station as well as added 3 fitness spin bicycles. People are friendly and respectful-- it feels like a safe community. LGBTQ+ Friendly! Moved in by myself but mentioned my partner perhaps living with me later and the process of adding to the lease was quick! My unit has hardwood floors, stainless steel appliances, the whole nine yards. The best part about it is the apartment is very very clean. So far, I love living at Greendale due to the lovely management, the area, and the amenities. I will probably stay awhile! read more

The community is close to the nature, the gym has all the equipments you would need, parking spots are in abundance, and the apartments are all well looked after. I have lived here for a number of year's. I love this place, that is why I'm still here. Management here is great, so nice and helpful. Because I've been living here over 10 year's, we got a complimentary paint job all over the house. Those painters were awesome. I asked the painter if he had some green paint because, the front door looked bad, from wear. He did an amazing job on that door, it look new. They even put new plates on all of the electrical outlets. They paid attention to details. We had the master bedroom for rent. The painters even painted the inside of the closet. When the carpet guy, laid new carped on the floor in the master bedroom, he also carpeted the closet. Now, it looks and feels like a new apartment. Oh, it is a (3) bedroom (2) bathroom apartment. The grounds are beautiful and well kept, and we have more amenities then most places. They are constantly updating the place. Whenever we need any type of maintenance done, it is done in a timely manner. The workmen were friendly and nice, I enjoyed having them in here. read more

There is NO way all these 5 star reviews are real!!! Fake fake fake!!! Management at Greendale Apartments uses Yelp as an initiative to improve ratings and lock in residents...Let ME give you a REAL review- -Rent will increase alot every year. -Your bills will increase every month. Greendale does not cover any service what so ever. You will be charged monthly for services you have never heard of. Water is split equally between ALL Greendale units so you will be charged all the same regardless of how much water you even used in your household. Let me put that into perspective for you - a family of 6 living in an apartment will be paying the same price a month for their water as a family of 2 or even a single renter. I spent hundreds on utilities I never used because of this system. -Walls are thin. Floors are cheap and hollow, loud to walk upon...You will hear every little step or word from your neighbors as if they live with you. -All of my roommates underwear were stolen from the laundry room mid-cycle multiple times. All of them. We told management and they didn't do or change anything. Didn't bother to look at security cameras, that we know of. The door to the laundry room is often open 24/7 and people off the streets clearly have access to use it. It's also usually dirty with machines not working. -There are tons and tons of mobile homes and homeless people living on the sidewalks and streets having easy access to your cars, the laundry rooms, and the property as a whole -The property is nice with all the plants but you pay for that, you pay for all the labor. And it's A-LOT! There are gardener workers and laborers working on the property non stop, leaf blowers, raking, lawn mowing etc. Not very private due to this. It's a busy property. Expensive property for the tenant to pay for. Invest in good blinds! -Not only is gardening and general landscaping an issue, but construction was a huge threat to tenants daily sanity and life. Without warning, the unit above you, below you, or next to you could be going through a complete renovation or gutting. They will not notify you of this. They will not notify you so that you can prepare for it, work from a coffee shop etc. Construction legally may began at 7am-6pm Mon-Fri. However, there was weekend construction often. It's a scam with a little stream and a fancy mail room. Tenants leave quickly after learning of their reality, so management is constantly flipping units which is why they make such an effort to make fake 5 star yelp reviews. read more

We absolutely LOVE living here. The grounds are beautiful and so peaceful. There's plenty of parking for guests. The apartment gets so much light and stays cool on hot days. We're just so glad we moved out of our tiny, hot, ugly apartment before getting huge pregnant and getting trapped inside for months! The whole place feels so homey and cozy. The leasing and maintenance staff are amazingly helpful and kind. They take pride in their work. Also, when we moved in, there was already a shower curtain, soap, and toilet paper. Such a thoughtful touch that made settling in so much easier. That extra step means a lot! read more

This is my 2nd review for Greendale.. Among the several things that stand-out, this is for the maintenance services & Naza in particular. Everytime I log a maintenance ticket for my apartment, it's attended to promptly. The very last one (fixing a problem in the flush tank) was completed by Naza within an hour from the time I logged the ticket. He's been the to-go person for most of the hard maintenance issues & he's always around working in the community (think 7 days a week). Kudos to the way the maintenance team works. read more

I have nothing but good things to report about Greendale. In my year and half here I've really come to appreciate just how much this place stands out above so many other options in the Palo Alto / Mountain View / Sunnyvale area. Long story short: these are the best you can do for the price in Mountain View. Here are the pros, in particular: - Beautifully renovated, spacious apartments in older (mid-century) buildings give a nice blend of modern comfort without the sterility of newer places. I never want to use an electric stove again. - Very well-maintained complex with excellent groundskeeping, clean areas, functional laundry services that take credit cards, and a convenient package center and fitness room. - My unit had a very nice car-park and storage unit that were excellent for keeping things that I didn't need to access too often. I ended up keeping my two bicycles in there, although there is also a shared bicycle storage room. - My unit had a huge, sunny deck that I never took advantage of, but you could probably grow tomatoes or whatever else you'd like. - All of my neighbors were very quiet; I rarely had problems with noise. No pets was a plus for me. - Great location. I didn't appreciate it at first, but being next to the Steven's Creek Trail is fantastic: you can run / bike / commute on it, but also it's a kind of mini-highway that gets you to the Castro Street area or Cuesta Park in about ten minutes by bicycle. There is also excellent road biking just south of Los Altos, which isn't hard to reach coming from Greendale and Steven's Creek. There are a few downsides, none of which was especially burdensome: - The AC unit is located in the kitchen, far from the bedroom, which can get quite hot during the summer. Most nights simply opening a window after sunset will suffice, but on especially hot days it won't be enough. I purchased a large fan, though, and that helped. - There are no overhead lights in bedroom or the living room, so you'll need to pick up a few standing lamps. - It's a very family-oriented complex, so being a young single person was perhaps unusual. Still, altogether, I don't think I'll have a place as nice Greendale for quite a while. I'm moving to San Francisco for work and will miss it greatly. read more

I have been living here for a little over 7 months and am loving this place! The apartments are very nice (fitted with modern equipment, and a good floor plan), the location is prime with easy access to groceries, hospitals, trails and every basic necessity you'd need. The community is wonderful (green and well lit!) as well with almost all amenities you'd basically want (gym, pool, sauna, sitting areas, barbeque, etc). The resident manager, Jovice, has been as kind and friendly to us as she was when we first contacted her for leasing. Any issues or maintenance required have also been resolved very quickly. The maintenance technicians fixed the fan and its light perfectly! It didn't show up initially, but they kept investigating until the light had the strange effect, and then disassembled the fan and quickly replaced the wiring. They also set the light switch to the level I most preferred and were so kind to wear boot protectors in the house to keep my floor clean! read more

I loved that they get back to me the same day it was not even an hour after I requested their service. Our fridge was not working properly, Naza their maintenance technician came over checked our fridge and they gave us a new one. His was very nice and professional. His service was outstanding. I will update the review with more details with time. But I want to make future renters aware of some valuable information about their water & other utility bills that I wish I was aware before I signed the lease. We rented a 3Bed-2Bathroom apartment last September. The lease mentions how the utility bills are calculated (without giving specific numbers) and mentions due to rent control there is a $265 cap. When we moved in, we got a printout in our move in package, with how the utility bill is calculated in more detail with example numbers. But it didn't have actual numbers (for example actual water bill for the community). It's only today after 3 months we moved in, we got our first full month (Oct1- Oct31) utility bill, and then only we got an idea what the actual numbers are. Since only the unit size and number of occupants (we are 2 adults, 2 kids) is considered in calculation and usage is not a factor, this should be what any renters will be getting with the comparable setup. Garbage: $43.76 Water Heating: $26.76 Sewer: $63.65 Water: $120.32 Service fee: $3.95 Total charge: $258.44 Thank you! read more

I've been living in Greendale Apartments for about 4 months now and I've been extremely happy so far. As many have noted, the grounds are beautiful and clearly a great deal of attention and care is put in to keeping them that way. The amenities are excellent-- everything is kept clean and in good working order. The property management is particularly good--the onsite property managers are professional, courteous, and above all seem to genuinely care that residents are happy. They put a lot of emphasis on customer service, and it shows. The apartment was in outstanding condition when we moved in. All the appliances in our unit were modern and in excellent working order. We've only had cause to put in service requests twice, both were minor issues. However they responded very quickly to each request and completely resolved the issue on the first try, no follow-up calls or emails needed. In each case I put in the request in the evening after business hours and by the time I came home from work the next afternoon the issues were completely resolved. I was incredibly impressed at how quickly they responded and the quality of the work they performed. The neighborhood is quiet and is quickly accessible to SR85 and from there to the 101 or 280. Overall, we've been extremely happy living here and would highly recommend it. read more

I just want to say a quick thank you to the Greendale management team for doing what they can to make sure residents have what we need during this time of Covid. They recently installed stationary bikes in our community, which has been a really nice amenity to be able to use when the gym is not available. And they've continued to keep the grounds beautifully manicured, which makes it a really nice space to walk around in for some peace and quiet. I have lived here for 2 months now. I would say this is THE BEST apartment I've ever stayed! Things I like about Greendale: 1. I rent a 1b1b unit. It has brand new hardwood floor in the living room, kitchen, dining room and brand new carpet in the bedroom. 2. The kitchen has the gas stove! I like cooking (especially stir-fry). The dishes taste much better when using the gas stove to stir fry. 3. The management team is very responsive. Most maintenance request can be taken care of within 24 hours. 4. Convenient location. Close to many big tech companies. Easy commute! 5. The landscape is very beautiful and peaceful. I like taking a stroll after work in the community. 6. The apartment has an on-site guest room for visitors. It's perfect for visiting parents or friends to stay so close by. The price per night is quite reasonable. Need improvement: 1. Sometimes AT&T signals are weak. 2. Not sure yet. Overall, Greendale is a very nice apartment. I highly recommend it! read more
