Aloha, Big mahalo goes out to Nicko Garcia who did the work for me. Appointment was schedule for between 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. but he arrived at 2:15 - 2:30 p.m.. I had a clog toilet and it was leaking water at the base. He unclog the toilet by dismantling the pipe under the sink and used a drain auger to get down the pipe and was able to unclog it with it. Turned out to be paper towel stuck down there in the pipe. He then had to reseal the wax and rechalked the toilet base because it was leaking everytime I used to plunger to try and unclog the toilet. Electric water heater not heating water. Called for service today, availability today, came today! We're first told that they would come between a 1:30pm to 3:30pm window of time . . we agreed (it was about 10:00am at the time). About 15 min. later, the tech calls directly and says that they finished a job early and could they come now. SURE! Came, did their diagnostic which took all of 5 min., then determined that it was a thermostat issue. They excused themselves and said they needed to go buy a part and would come back. GREAT (as we knew the parts store was down the street)! They came back and replaced both the top thermostat and the bottom thermostat in the water heater (their rule is that if one goes out they replace both). Settled the bill on site and we were good to go. They said that in 30 - 45 min., we should have hot water and we did! Great service. I'm glad they were available today as not all the time that happens. These guys knew what they were doing and solved the problem. Took the whole job a little over an hour. Nicko and Casey were the plumbing technicians. Compliments to them and intake coordinator Karen who set the whole thing up!! 535 Plumbing is great! read more

It started out as a simple scheduling of a bathtub faucet leak. The refinishers observed that the spout was leaking. They recommended to have a plumber come out and fix otherwise the reglaze would not adhere properly. I contacted them on Friday and had them come out on the following Monday. Good thing because during the weekend, the downstairs toilet started to leak at the base. I was able to have 535 add it to the job list. Mark was able to fix the toilet and faucet within 2.5 hours. He explained the cause of the leaky faucet that the water handles were essentially being worn down. read more

I requested service from 535 for what originally was a shower cartridge replacement and became a valve replacement. Based on estimates, 535 was also much more fairly priced than other estimates I had gotten. The service team was great; they were responsive and professional. They responded much faster than competing businesses and were good about contacting me regularly to keep me up to date on scheduling. Also, for almost every appointment where I was given a range of time, the technician arrived within 10-15 minutes of the earlier side of the estimated arrival window. The 5 star rating is for Jack. Dude was super punctual, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took the time to troubleshoot and save me money where he could, and when troubleshooting eventually revealed that a valve replacement was where we were headed, he kept me informed and educated about what changes he was making and how he'd make them. Although our landlord paid for the service I must say the people at 535 Plumbing were top shape from the lady who answered the phone to the plumbers that were dispatched to the condo. Hired for plumbing repair in our bathrooms. Gave 1 star for professional front office staff when we called for scheduling and 1 star for professional workers who came to do initial assessment of the problem. Minused 3 stars for the actual plumbing job due to causing damage to other parts of the bathrooms (i.e. scraped up bathroom bc didn't use drop cloths), left metal scrap pieces inside the toilet bowl water, left scrap pieces all over the bathrooms and worst of all repair ended up leaking within a year causing water damage. There was a few months of back and forth of them trying to deny it was their job even after confirming the receipt of work completed in their system. They eventually sent people to fix the problem, but the person who showed up was very unprofessional trying deny it was their job. How a business handles their mistakes, in professional/unprofessional way, says a lot more than positive reviews and helps determine if I want to return to them. If you decide to go with this business, take pictures before hand to back yourself up in case of unexpected damage/leaks and keep your receipts. For us, we moved on to different plumbing companies and found more professional service for around the same cost. read more

I called eight plumber "call centers " in a row. None would provide any estimate, nor even an hourly rate for work. They would entrap one to pay a fee to visit and assess the situation, then give one the option of paying whatever quote they decide to conjure up or pay the initial visit fee...then I would need to start all over with someone else. My ninth call, I reached a real representative of the company! Diana was courteous and professional. She gave me a firm quote within five minutes, with various options , and scheduled the work within two hours...on a weekend no less! Jay & Gabe arrived, there were a few complications due to the old condition of the shutoff valves, and delays in getting the building water shut off as a consequence, but these guys handled it well and charged me fairly. THANK YOU, MARK!!! Just wanted to leave a review to let 535, and Mark about the work he did for me last week. I was having a hot water mixing valve issue not letting enough hot water out of the solar tank. Niko came by the other day to try and get it unstuck, with no avail so we definitely knew that it had to be changed out. Still, Mark tried to get the valve to open just in case the valve didn't need to be changed but it was frozen closed. He then proceeded to change the valve, vocalizing every step that he was taking to let me know what he was doing that made me feel comfortable with the process. He also used a water removal pump to make sure that the tank was properly drained so the lines didn't leak when he removed the valve. While we were waiting for the water to reheat up to do some checks, he vacuumed, and wiped up the areas he was working on (classy). We then went throughout the house to make sure they all had hot water, he even showed me how to increase or decrease the temperature if need be. Thanks Mark and 535 for the great work! These knuckleheads come without a moisture detector which is the only thing that I told the lady on the phone that no needed when I scheduled. I have used this plumbing service before and was very pleased with their service and reasonable rates, which is why I called them again for the current job. I had given five stars on my previous review. However, I was disappointed that today's service did not take place. My building management requires 48 hours notice, plus a form to be filled and submitted with a $30 fee. The work also needs to be completed between 10:00am and 12:00 noon, per building rules. On securing the reservation a couple of days before that8, I was given a 11:00am to 1:15pm window, but I reiterated that the techs need to be here within the 10:00 to 12:00 window. Already on my first call around 10:40 to check on the technician's status, I was told I will need to reschedule. I wanted to press ahead because I had taken the morning off work to wait for the plumber. Long story short, and was finally told close to 12:00pm that the technicians were on their way. However, my resident manager's office called while I was downstairs waiting and I was informed that the water had been turned back on and the job needed to be rescheduled. Karen at 535 Plumbing offered to reschedule but I'm not going to. I now have to secure another date, give another 48 hours notice, fill another request form at the resident manager's office and take another morning off work. In short, I am very annoyed, to put it mildly. read more
