I LOVE THIS PLACE! It's a food truck and it gets busy, so be prepared to wait but the wait is so worth it. The portions are massive and the flavors are incredible! Can't rave about this place enough

Chicken, shrimp with fried rice upgrade

Best fried rice I've had since moving to OR!!!!New York was overcooked (asked for medium but It came with no pink) and quite fatty. My daughter had chicken and shrimp which she said was good. Ginger sauce was bomb. We'll be back for sure. Great, friendly and quick service with covered eating area!!! PS Veggies were very tasty and cooked just right

This is my go to stop anytime I am driving to Portland for evening events. The food is always delicious and it is huge portions every time. The guy that owns this shop is so kind and welcoming. Highly recommend!

    Teriyaki steak with fried rice

Ordered right when they opened today. It was delicious and exactly what we were looking for. Their food is always great. The service is fantastic. We have had Hibachi 503 as they were closing also and it's the same great food no matter when you order. I have told friends at work and now they go here too! I wasn't able to get the Lumpia today but that is also a go to for me . You can't go wrong here the portions are worth what you pay and quality is excellent. Great job Hibachi 503!

Let me preface this review by stating I'm obviously a moron…read more.. I had planned a date night with my wife for a concert in the park, but when we got to the park it was just a bunch of kids playing soccer. Turns out the concert was last night...no, this isn't the first time I've done this. We decided to try something new and my wife picked this place randomly off Yelp. When we pulled up it was about 6:45pm and it looked like it was closed. We walk in and no one is at the counter. I poke my head around the corner and see no customers, just a woman sitting. She comes and politely greets us and seats us at a table. No one is in the restaurant...like not a single customer. I'm extremely skeptical at this point. My wife says we can go somewhere else if I like. I hemmed and hawed a little, but said nah let's try it. Worst case is we have a story to tell about a bad experience. We place our order, very reasonably priced. The cook comes over with his cart to make the food. He's a jovial guy, with a good sense of humor. Makes small talk and puts on a good display. The food at this point is smelling good. I gotta tell you, this food was incredible! Absolutely delicious! So much better than I expected!!! And so much food too. I've got lunch for tomorrow. This place was 45 minutes away from my home and we will be back without a doubt!! Once again I am taught a valuable lessons...don't judge a book by its cover...

All the appetizers were supposed to be shrimp, so may have been better to let us know before they seated us and not wait for an hour to tell us ? Not surprisingly, we had to leave. It also felt a tad too smoky in there - not great ambience. Although I must say, they did not charge us for the drinks that we'd ordered, so there's that. It's sad to write this sort of review but people should know, and hopefully ownership recognizes this and changes for the better! Try Tokyo Table if you're craving something similar in the meantime.

I was around the area and thought it might be nice to grab something from here to have on my way home. I forgot how busy they are; people were waiting for a table and people were waiting to be put on the waitlist. I patiently waited my turn to get to the front to ask if I could make a to-go order. Yes, yes they do, but it would be at the bar. Went to the bar, waited a couple of minutes to be acknowledged, then was transferred over to the lady at the sushi area. Apparently, they have a designated to-go person. After chatting with the to-go lady, it was smooth sailing afterward. I ordered something easy to eat - steak fried rice (serves 2) $21.00, add egg $2.00, add chicken $2.00 and the grand total was $25.00. Waited a little bit for my order to be cooked and packed ~10-15 minutes. The portions were decent and fed the 2 of us. Fried rice was okay; it was a bit on the greasy side and did not have much flavor, very bland. Thank goodness, she gave me some teriyaki sauce to go with my dinner, or else it would have been a sad dinner. There is plenty of parking, shared with other shops, but it could be tight. By ordering to-go, I felt like I bypassed the wait. It wasn't a bad experience, but I was expecting the food to be tastier. But then again, this was my first time ordering to-go here. Staff were friendly.

The manager, Mickey Folgheraiter, was absolutely outstanding. He checked on us repeatedly while we waited, kept us updated, and continued to make sure we were taken care of throughout the entire dinner. His attentiveness, professionalism, and genuine concern for guests really stood out, especially on such a busy night. He's the kind of manager that makes you want to come back. Our chef, Alex, also deserves major credit. There were a few issues that were not his fault--some food came out incorrect or not quite enough at first--but he handled everything with grace and professionalism. He stayed upbeat, kept the experience enjoyable, and did an excellent job cooking and entertaining with what he was given. Busy nights happen, but great service makes all the difference. Thanks to Mickey and Alex, what could've been a frustrating evening turned into a very enjoyable one. We'll definitely be back.

The restaurant used to have 8 seats per hibachi table. It now has 10 seats. It also seems to have increased the number of tables as it was difficult for patrons and staff to move around. The chef had a hard time keeping orders straight and often confused them. The food was either overcooked or undercooked, and there was protein lacking in the "chicken and shrimp" fried rice. It was all rice. There was so many people at the table that I couldn't move to eat (I am left handed) and when I ordered water to drink I was given a bottle of water. There was no room on the table for the bottle so it ended up on the floor. The noise level in the restaurant was so high the people at the table had to should to be heard, (the noise in the women's restroom was blaring- no way to escape the noise). There was a cold breeze pumped onto my feet and the room above the table was hot. The air was full of particulate matter, there weren't sufficient fans. The staff was very pleasant and helpful, however their working conditions seemed stressful and too much was expected of each individual. I think management should try the restaurant, maybe then it would change, but these changes are sad. This used to be a good place to go and celebrate life.

So when they have something not worth the money, I feel like im getting ripped off. And that pisses me off!!!! I brought one of the kids along afternoon sushi. She wanted salmon sashimi, I wanted scallops sashimi. The menu said 3 pieces. Ok, the scallop nigiri is one whole scallop partially sliced in the middle and folded out over the rice as one piece. Cost is 8 dollars for one piece. So a 3 piece scallop sashimi cost $22. It cane on a plate with one piece of scallop sliced in half then in thirds for six slices. Don't order sashimi at this location. They really cut these things thin or in smaller pieces. They think you're getting good sashimi. There are at least a dozen sushi places around that will give you a proper thickness of their sashimi slices of salmon and three piece whole scallops. I was angry, but kept my temper and just stopped communicating with them and saying no I don't want anything extra. I'll eat what I have which was good and I don't want anything else from these people. I'm angry because they tried to rip me off.

We frequently eat Sushi and Nikki has very fresh tasting fish, so glad they are close to our home. The interior is very well maintained; you can eat indoor or they have several outdoor seating options. This week we tried a few new rolls. The Vegetable Green Dragon Roll, with sweet potato, cucumber topped with avocado, its very light but great tasting, we also ordered the Sushi and Steak roll, A5 Wagyu steak with tempura avocado, spicy real crab, topped with the steak, spicy truffle sauce, green sauce, tobiko and crispy onion. Loved the steak did not enjoy the rest of the combo but still it was good, the other roll we orders was amazing the Spicy girl roll, it has Albacore tuna, jalapeno pepper, spicy tuna, cucumber, radish, topped with tempura flakes, spicy mayo, wow it was very very good, light but yet hardy with a lot of flavor. The two rolls in this section are severed in a large wide dish with a fuming fish that bellows fog for effect, very cool. The wait staff is always nice and very attentive, of the years of ordering drinks from the bar it's a hit and miss on who is working the bar if your drink will be just right, we ordered a lemon drop and it was a bit off, you can never go wrong with some Sake.

Flagging down for service they would see you and they would immediately look away or pretend to work on something else, and they never filled our drinks.
