For a large bowl with two scoops of protein, they give you a pretty good amount of food. Although a lot of their protein comes preseasoned with different flavors and so you got to mix it matched, but sometimes you have to be able to balance what the preseasoned flavors are with everything else. I wasn't expecting that at first, but I was still able to enjoy a nice lunch and be in and out within 5 minutes.

It was a busy Sunday when we went so be prepared to walk if necessary. AMBIANCE: Being in the market, it was crowded and there is limited seating. There were a few tables with shade, as well as a grassy area to sit down to eat. Nice farmer's market vibes. SERVICE: They definitely had a line. The young lady who helped us was very busy. She was nice enough to tell us and the rest of the people in line about what foods of which they had run out (which was quite a bit). Not sure if that's a good sign of their popularity or being under prepared for a busy day but there were a lot of things we wanted to eat that weren't available including the mac salad. FOOD: Poke Nachos: I really liked that they were on wonton chips because those are just the perfect vehicle to carry poke. The fish itself came in large chunks and I think the lomi salmon was missing because they ran out of that as well. There were no green onions on it and really looked nothing like what the pictures had on their IG and online so it was disappointing to be honest. Garlic Chicken: The chicken itself was dressed really well in the garlic sauce. It was a little dry but the sauce definitely helped. They had run out of Mac salad so they offered some fried noodles as a substitute which was okay. OVERALL: I felt a little let down to be honest. They had run out of a lot of stuff and the quality did not seem on par with the reviews I'd been reading. Possibly just a busy day for them but I guess we'll have to come earlier? We did get there around 1230PM so I guess that was too late. They had also run out of some of their specials including the lau lau which I wanted to try. I'll probably give them another chance some time since I love Hawaiian food.

There was 3-4 pieces of salmon, 3-4 of excellent tuna, a couple of seared tuna, a shrimp, 2 pieces of eel, and a wad of spicy tuna and a dollop of fish eggs. The rice was really good too. The serving size wasn't huge, but it was enough. My wife got the salmon bowl and it was less food - an appetizer would have helped. We will be back! Very good quality, nice people.

Twice, I've been here. Once to try it out, the second time to remember if I ate here before or not lol. Here's a bit about this Joy Pokè location. The place is small, but clean for the most part. You start by selecting from the menu board up above. Pick the size bowl you'd like; Small, medium, large. Plus a base; White or brown rice, salad, or half-n-half. Then select the little sides like crabmeat and avocado or seaweed salad (there's more options). Third, you pick the type of fish you want for your protein. More veggie extras, add sauces like ponzu or shoyu or spicy chili. Then you complete it with toppings of your choice as well; Corn, roasted garlic, onion, furikake, etc. My bowl was prepared by the same guy as the first time, who's probably the manager or owner. Who seemed polite, but didn't say much to help with the selections. No big deal regarding services. I ordered a Large Bowl for $19.99 and added a $3 tip. The container felt a bit heavy, but it also felt like a medium bowl for the price. It was that, two large scoops of rice, but you felt a bit shafted with the amount of poke given to compensate for the amount of rice. Suggestion: Add all the extras and toppings I guess. It's either all or none. Technology is meant to make things less complicated for some folks in some instances but I'm old-school and I'll use the paper next time. Another word of advice is that you save the paper and reuse it again on your next order if you're the kind of person that orders the same combinations every time.
