Must order calamari and hand-roll! Yummy, fresh, and delicate food we ate tonight. My hand-roll had the best rice and seaweed. Calamari was so light, clean, and full of flavor.

Every time I come to Portland, I stop by Sushi Kiichi, a family-run Japanese restaurant. For lunch, I recommend a great value lunch set. This time, I came for dinner and ordered 7 pieces of nigiri and 5 pieces of sashimi from the omakase menu. The other dishes I want to eat are all lined up, but the Omakase is guaranteed to satisfy me. This omakase menu includes miso soup. The restaurant's atmosphere is very nice, making it comfortable for families or even just a single person. The female staff member was also very kind, so the meal tasted even better. I'll probably come here again next time.

This place was SO GOOD. Fresh large slices of fish that melted in the mouth. And the agedashi mochi had a chewy mochi inside, light crispy exterior soaked in a delicious dashi fish broth. We wanted to drink that broth right after!! The dishes felt both authentic yet very American at the same time with its large portion and Japanese taste. On top of that service was great - wait staff very attentive and sweet! Lots of Japanese people who were dining which is always a good sign! Parking was easy in this large lot. Can't wait to try more of the items here!!

Be sure to make a reservation or arrive a bit earlier during dinner time. We got there a little after they opened for dinner and they were already packed! We had to wait 30-40 minutes for a seat. We thought the fish was fresh and good quality. I also felt like the price was very reasonable. The sets felt special, but I'd opt to order a la carte next time!

Dined in this time, not take out! I took my parents with me too so we could try more things together! We got: 1. Agedashi tofu: it was our first time trying and it was good. Piping hot and they were nicely fried chunks of tofu. The sauce as nice too as it wasn't too salty. 2. Bento 1: saba and ginger pork. Both were nice. If you think saba is more fishy then I don't recommend but I like the flavor of saba! The ginger pork was too gingery for me (because I don't like ginger in general) but my parents loved it and it was tender. 3. Bento 2: tonkatsu and ebi fry. Ebi fry is different than tempura shrimp as they use different ingredients to make the batter. Both were fresh, juicy, crispy, and the tonkatsu was nice and thick. After eating it we didn't feel stuffed or bloated from the oil. *the other side dishes were good too like the croquette and the little fried octopus, burdock, salad, etc. 4. Coffee jelly parfait. While this was good, I didn't find it a 'wow' at all. The coffee jelly was nice but then the rest was just simple vanilla and cereal. Anyways, I tried it once, it tasted good but won't get it again.

Delicious soup and sushi. I normally dine in but this time is the first time for taking out order. The service is always good here, friendly staffs.

Hands down best sushi of the price and quality. Coming here all the time and other places don't compare.

This is my favorite reliable, delicious, high quality sushi spot in the Portland area. Prices are fair and fish is always fresh and delicious. We frequently get to-go and dine in and we've got it dialed it. Highly recommend trying out Sushi Ki-ichi

    Karaage-Don
    Danny L.

Drinks: - N/A Food: - The kaarage-don is filling. There was a tad bit too much sauce in the rice. I was kind of looking forward to tasting the rice but the sauce over powers the rice flavor. It wasn't overpowering to the point to feel unpleasant though. I liked this fish a lot, a definite bang for your buck - The salmon skin handroll is a gift that keeps on giving. I was fully expecting to purely get two small temaki rolls, but it included more. They serve these rolls alongside a pile of salmon skin with lemon. They're generous with the extra salmon skin is all I'll say Ambience: - The place offer spacious seating, the I don't worry about other people listening to my conversations and judging me kind of spacious - All the furniture is black, simple and uniform Overall: I would 100% come here again. Great prices without suffering in quality. The portions were big. I liked how spacious it was, I felt there was more sense of privacy because of that. The staff were nice. I can't wait to come back

If you're looking for great sushi in Portland, I highly recommend Sushi Ki-ichi. It's easy. It's my top 3 sushi spots in the area. The restaurant is spacious, offering a mix of bar and table seating. I really liked how the tables were separated with room dividers--it gave a bit more privacy, which made the dining experience feel calm and comfortable. The variety of Nigiri and Rolls here is impressive, and everything tasted super fresh. Each piece was cleanly prepared and flavorful. It feels like the place is run by Japanese chefs, and the service reflects that attention to detail--warm, respectful, and efficient. One tip: ask for Hot Tea and take a moment to browse both the handwritten Nigiri/Roll sheet and the full menu. You can mix and match to create your own miniature omakase-style course. Here's my favorite menu: Nigiri: Squid, Horse Mackerel, Scallop, Salmon Rolls: Nobu Special, Hokkai, Ki-ichi Special Gunkan: Creamy Scallop, Chopped Toro Sides: Chicken Karaage, Vegetable Tempura, Kitsune Udon And don't forget House Sake--a perfect pairing! It was a very satisfying meal, and I already wanted to come back for their Lunch Menu, which looked great. One last tip: try to go right when they open--it fills up fast, and for good reason!

made a little pit stop and had a nice little snack here as i was cruising down pacific hwy. no complaints at all! service was great, the space was lively, service was attentive, and did not push people out even though they were set to close at 2 before they open again for dinner. sushi was fresh and high quality - very well prepared.

    Nigiri and simple rolls
    Thao D.

While service was fairly prompt and the kitchen food came pretty quickly, it took entirely way too long for the sushi to come out. Ordering about 6 nigiri, and 3 simple rolls took about 45 min (and waiting) . The sushi was decent, nothing spectacular that would bring me back. The waitress was kind enough to comp the small rolls after we expressed our disappointment with the wait, but there are too many other options out there.

It was quiet, and we were seated quickly. I ordered the rice patty burger. I thought the taste was okay, it was a tad bit under seasoned but the sauce kinda made up for the flavor. The concept of a rice burger is interesting but it does get really messy because it breaks apart easily. The fries were delicious, though! The popcorn chicken was breaded nicely and had a great crunch and flavor. My partner loved the fried oysters. The squid was alright, it was a bit too chewy to bite into to tear. Katsu was super crunchy not too dry, just overall great. Matcha dessert was my favorite, you can really taste the high quality Matcha Powder they used. Once we stepped inside, we were immediately struck by how beautiful the decor was. From the cherry blossom tree with seating built around it, to the wood-and-paper accents, to the elegant wall screen and custom dining tables--everything felt thoughtfully designed. Our dining experience truly felt luxurious, like a little slice of Japan right here at home. Service was excellent as well. Our waitress was friendly, patient with our questions, and quick to bring out our sushi and water. Even the water bottle was a gorgeous textured design--such a nice touch. At sushi restaurants our younger child usually only eats plain rice, and our older one is a picky eater who will eat a little chicken. We initially asked to order the kids teriyaki chicken for our older child but were told the kids menu is only for 7 and under. Since we do have a 5 year old, we ordered the kids meal for her and a side of rice. When the food arrived and we placed the chicken in front of our 10 year old and the rice in front of our 5 year old, there seemed to be some confusion among the staff, which created an awkward and uncomfortable moment for us. In the end our 10 year old only ate a few pieces of chicken and our 5 year old had a little rice, which is exactly why we ordered the smaller portions. It caught us off guard since we did have a child under the age limit at the table and were ordering plenty of food, and families often share plates. A little flexibility or discretion in situations like this might help avoid making families feel uncomfortable. That said, the staff were genuinely very kind and accommodating overall, and very sweet as we were leaving. Overall a beautiful space with very nice staff.
