This place was ok, I feel like it's overrated. We went in around lunchtime and ended up placing our order to god ice there was only one table and the place was teeming in high schoolers. The lady who took our order was super nice. My boyfriend got a calzone and I got a personal pizza. They bagged everything up and even included napkins and silverware. The cookies and hand pies were great. The pizza...well. I hope I just got a bad one. The crust was hard like is was burnt, but it wasn't. Almost like the dough didn't rise or something or maybe the cornmeal made it too hard. I don't know what happened, but looking at the reviews it might be worth a second try. I love supporting my local community. This little hole in wall gives local youth the opportunity to learn a skill and build confidence. This trip I had a personal pizza with mushrooms and sausage, french fries and four cookies all for under $10. everything is homemade. Whatever mushroom blend they are using is phenomenal. Seriously folks these are the best mushrooms you'll ever have on a pizza. And I'm like a hobbit when it comes to mushrooms. Some of the ingredients are from their garden. I tried out 5000 pies loaded deep dish 14" pizza. The price was reasonable, the staff paid attention to my order, no ham light on the olives, and the pie was deep and delicious! My only knock, the cheese was not melted and ooey-gooey at time of pick up. I reheated the slice in the oven 8-10 minutes at 400 and it did obtain that ooey-gooey perfection. I will be coming back here if I need to get a real deal Chicago style deep dish pie again while I am in the south bay! read more

My boyfriend and I love this place! It is super yummy and the owner seems really passionate about the food. 4/5 times I have been more than satisfied with my meal. I recommend getting your pizza as soon as its made because if it sits too long, it gets kinda soggy. I also highly recommend the triple chocolate chip cookies - they are soooooo delicious! This place was worth the wait. I read the reviews and couldnt wait so on monday after work i drove over alas they are closed on Monday. I finally made it today and ordered up everything. I ordered pizza cookies and a slice of pie. While waiting i spied and order that looked like chicken and fries. Well i ordered it and ate it while pizza was cooking. Delicious hot fries covered in tangy barbeque sauce cheese and chunks of crispy chicken breast. Yummy. I was actually too full to enjoy the pizza. It was good my only critique was i neede more sauce. I ordered the spinach sausage ànd pepperoni. It was a good deal for the price. I will order again however skip the fries they stole the show.The oatmeal cookie right amount of crunch icing delicious. Carlos was the best he gave me an extra cookie. Three for 1.25. I would pay that for one. The vibe is friendly. Carlos and hia team mate where super friendly. I live in the neighborhood so i am super proud and will be a customer for life. I will walk next time. I had to drive aeound the block and a space opened. Just found out about this place today; the shop is small but the food is truly worth seeking it out. Aside from great looking pizza and actual deep dish, they have salads, sweet pies like pecan or lemon, and something called Buffalo Fries that sound INSANELY good. First visit there was a mixed bag. Called in an order for a deep-dish pizza. Showed up later to find they had not moved the order forward and no one ever started making it. I do understand these things happen, so I was not mad about it. But then, they offered to make a regular pizza right away (didn't want to wait 45 minutes for the deep-dish, so I opted for the regular crust), and made a very generous offer to make up for their mistake. I was pleased with how they handled the situation, their customer service was very good. While I waited, I tried a piece of there strawberry cream pie, which was amazing! Afterwards, the pizza was done and I took it home. This pizza was one of the best I have had in a long time, a true gourmet pizza. The crust was terrific, the sauce and cheese were all perfectly balanced and the entire thing together with the toppings was just terrific! I am quite a pizza-snob, so I pull no punches if it is not great. I can't wait to go back and try the deep-dish. This place is staying on my top-list. And I will continue to try their pies as well, because they really seem to know what they are doing. I tried the personal size pizza and it was very good and very cheap - only five dollars. My favorite thing here is the hand pies, almost don't want to tell people how good they are because it's already hard to get my favorites, they seem to run out by about 4 o'clock. They give you a free cookie if you tell them it's your first visit and they are also awesome. Wow, never had a pizza that was over 7 pounds. Large spinach deep dish was incredible. One slice and a salad was a meal for each of my family. Next time, I will get a medium do to the amount of left overs. Recommend heating left overs at a lower heat, say 325 six minutes do to the thickness and finishing at high for a couple of minutes to retain the crispy crust. Overall, great job! Not sure about the thin crust, but will try in the future. read more

Tried the grilled veggie and turkey club sandwiches, plus the apple and lemon handpies. The sandwiches were different from each other and very tasty. Both were served in a nice baguette, not some "airy" bun. I could taste the butter in the handpie crusts, which were delicate and flakey. My husband I thoroughly enjoyed our first tastes of 5000 Pies, and we highly recommend you try this new resto. It's a small and friendly neighborhood takeout place that's worth trying.
