Deep fried PB&J, cookies, Deep dish pizza and wings! I'm in love with this place! Everything I've tried has been amazing!

Visited Chicago on several occasions for business and inevitably we would "go out for pie". I enjoyed the best deep dish pizza in Chicago and I have yearned for it ever since. But then God gave me a Deep Dish Miracle by way of 5000 Pies. TYL! Absolutely Just Like Chicago. Order 1 hour ahead of time because it takes time to create this masterpiece. read more

It was good. We ordered 3 personal deep dish pizza. The only thing we all agreed on is the tomato amount on top was too much. none of us was a big fan and we ended up scrapping it off. If you're not into tons of tomatoes, you might want to let them know to make it light. Other than that, it was good, spinach was fresh and pizza dough was great. Staff was nice too. read more

I really want to like this place because of the creativity put into their pizzas. But, my last two visits left me late returning to work from lunch. On both occasions, I called in my order 30-45 mins prior to pick up. Each time they told me the order would be ready in 15 minutes. The 1st time I was late, they completely did not put my order in and I sat around watching walk in customers place orders and leave. I just ended up leaving after I got my money back. This last and final straw resulted in me getting the wrong order, and learning that they gave my food away to another customer. So, I'm sitting here late for work while they remake my food. Yep! This place is legit. Being transplants from Chicago, we have always been on the quest for a good local deep dish "Chicago Style" pizza. We usually have to drive up to Echo Park for Masa's. But now we can stay in Long Beach! We had their spinach deep dish pizza. It did not disappoint! Their crust is amazing, the ingredients perfectly cooked, excellent sauce too. A home run! Right up there with the Chicago staples. I would call it a cross between Lou Malnati's and Giordanos. We will go again. My boyfriend had been craving Chicago style deep dish pizza, and this is like the only place in miles that serves it!! And it's pretty damn good. I was on the search for "real" deep dish pizza and didn't seem to find one until 5000 pies was recommend to me. Luckily it's right in my back yard!! The deep dish needs to be ordered an hour in advance but worth the wait. I ordered the small/personal deep dish loaded pizza.. It's so filling my husband and I were both so full and we still had wings and fries to eat... The mini pies are so delicious along with the cookies.. My favorite was the cranberry cookie.. So soft and right amount of sweetness. I cannot wait to make my next trip here! Oh and the staff is super friendly!!! read more

The food here was really good we tried a loaded thing crust pizza. The honey sesame wings or something like that LOL. We tried the different cookies and pie and also the deep dish pizza. It was all very good but I would have to say the deep dish pizza was AMAZING!!! The crust was just right with a fluffy but crispy texture. The sauce was on point with the spices and flavor. I go here for real deep dish pizza. It is very difficult to find in CA and this is as close as it gets. Price is fine for how heavy the pizza is. It does take about an hour which is understandable and is posted on the website as well as told to me over the phone so you shouldn't have a problem with that. read more

Went tonight for my hubby and I first time. Got a deep dish everything and regular crust pineapple, pepperoni, bacon. OMG SOOOOOO GOOD we will definitely be back. For me, an idea works when the people that work there commit themselves to the mission. 5000 pies has an excellent mission which is executed by excellent people to deliver excellent food. the mission is "to transform the lives of young adults in West Long Beach through culinary employment and life skills coaching." First time I really love something in the westside. This place is really a gem for that area of Long Beach. It was the bosses birthday and the food was delish and really impressed, score! Anyway ordered the loaded deep dish pizza. Really nice lady told me she forgot to add the mushrooms to my loaded pizza and asked what kind of cookies would you like? Wow, was impressed, I got the chocolate chip cookies, they were truly the best cookies I've had, you can tell they use high quality ingredients. I am sure glad she forgot those mushrooms and I was able to try those yummy cookies. Anyway, the pizza was excellent, the salad was fresh and crisp. Tried them for lunch a few weeks ago. Got a personal deep dish pizza, a small hand pie and some cookies. The pizza was good but I wasn't a fan of the crust...it was a little dry and bland tasting. (I'm a crust lover, so I was kind of bummed.) The Nutella banana pie was pretty good but nothing spectacular the cookies, however, were on point. I will try them again for their regular pizza to see if that is better than the deep dish. But I wouldn't recommend the deep dish unless you have something to dip the crust in. Also, I wanted to try their deep fried peanut butter and jelly about a week later, and they didn't have the ingredients....I was disappointed because it seems to be quite popular so running out of ingredients either means it's so bomb they run out of ingredients or their orderers and/or/vendors are lacking. read more

Saw this place on the new and hot list, and really wanted to love it but....Was kinda disappointed due to the fact that it took almost an hour and a half to make our deep dish build your own pizza( I realize deep dish takes longer but your menu says allow 45 min they might want to consider changing it to 90 if it does take that long). When we got it home we realized that it was the wrong pizza we ordered pepperoni, sausage, and bacon....and got a pizza covered with ham, jalapeños, olives, and bell peppers :/. We didn't bother going back because we heard them tell another customer after we ordered they were out of deep dish dough, also I did want to wait another hour and a half. The person running the counter was very nice and warm. The pizza was hot. But over all just disappointed :( read more

Working in the LBC today - went to Yelp for something local - and good. LoL I placed my order in advance - when I walked in - same friendly woman that answered the phone - asked was I Bryan - and advised my pizza would be out soon. It was delicious. Only 80 cents for a soda? 50 cents for a cookie? Simply unheard of prices in this day & time!! Tamika was as friendly as could be - as well as Gregory - who asked me how my pizza was. This place was great. Service was good and the deep dish and desserts were great. Pizzas take 45min to an hour so call ahead so the pizza is ready when you get there. There are three small seating areas in there, we were lucky to be able to get a table and eat there because then we tried a couple desserts. Our pizza was pepperoni, pineapple, and jalapeños. We tried the banana Nutella hand pie great taste and the crust was nice and flaky. We also tried the berry and lemon cream pie. It was wonderful, not too sweet, simply delicious. I would definitely recommend this place. I also saw a sign if you live in the 90810 with ID you get a $6 medium pizza. Overall great food and nice people. Must go! read more

I have always walked by 5000 Pie and I never thought anything of it . One day my sister posted a picture of " Jaguar fries" witch is fires with a good hand full of chicken . You can choose multiple favors . There's a school near by and there was a line not a long line a very exaggerating line , so I waited and OMG it was well worth the wait , the fries were seasoned so well and the chicken was perfect not dry like most places , the next morning I went there for breakfast because I was craving how wonderful they were . I didn't count 500 pies, however, we came here for the novelty as I read about this place in a trade magazine of the best dessert places in LA and surrounding area to check out. It's not the best, however, what this place has going for it is that they have a different variety of pies in both savory and sweet. I picked the cheese pies and the berry pies. Very guilty pleasure. This place was super packed when I got here and seating is very limited, therefore, just took it to go and ate it on the beach. read more
