They've got a simple dining room with a few large tables, that have different kinds of BBQ sauce options. Price-wise it is not the cheapest but, the flavor is worth it. Overall this is a worthy BBQ spot and it is on my shortlist when visiting!

A selection of vegetables comes with the grill as well. One welcome improvement since my last visit: the ventilation setup has been redesigned so the smoke no longer follows you home in your clothes for the rest of the evening. A small thing that makes a real difference. The time limit is around three hours, which is more than enough. Forty minutes at the grill was plenty for us. Now for the honest part. The cold buffet side needs work. The spring rolls were a miss, the Hawaiian mac salad was forgettable, and the only sushi option was a California roll that did not taste fresh. For a restaurant that executes the grilling experience this well, the appetizer and salad bar deserve more attention. Four stars for the meat, the experience, and the improved ventilation. The first thing I saw last night as I walked in was a roach which measured an inch long, sauntering across the food prep counter. I pointed it out to my wife a couple of times before she looked and saw it as it disappeared under the counter top. This was off putting and contributed to our poor experience at the restaurant. We were served meat on a small plastic plate and two sides. I chose beans and corn chowder. Both of these seem like good choices to go with barbeque. The beans were bland. What? I expected good beans in a place that specializes in barbecue. But what did I expect after tasting the rather substandard barbeque? They must depend on people adding sauce to the food. I didn't, I just wanted to get out of the place as fast as possible. My wife assures me she'll never go there again and I'm shocked at the few friends who have given the place rave reviews in the past. Maybe we went on an off night, but they'll never get a chance to see me again! That roach was entirely too at home there! read more

Imma be honest the food was outrageously bland and it felt misleading because it smelled amazing but lacked all flavor I felt like I had to rely on the sauces to get me through the meal. I miss good BBQ it's just super not good if your not from Utah and way good BBQ STAY AWAY! You'll just get pissed off especially because it's not cheap. I came back to Utah by way of Texas and New Mexico. I had amazing brisket at a place called Rudy's in both Albuquerque and in Austin. Ever since, I've been looking for a BBQ restaurant that did brisket like Rudy's. Well, I have finally found it! Five Star BBQ is easily the best BBQ restaurant I've experienced in Utah, and it is the equal of the great Rudy's. For sheer goodness of food, I can't recommend this place enough. Very clean and accommodating staff. We ordered the brisket, pulled pork and ribs with sides of Beans and Mac n cheese. The brisket had nice flavor and was moist and tender, the pork was a little bland in flavor but moist and tender. The choice of bbq sauces was a fun way to experiment and did wonders to the pork.
