It's tough to find a good pulled pork sandwich in Utah, but 5 star consistently delivers. I'm sure their other meats are good as well (they smell amazing), but I can't ever bring myself to order anything else. Fries are among the best I've had around here. This place is probably one of my fav bbq spots in Utah county. Staff is friendly and food is great! I love all the sauce and meet options. I have tried all the sauces, and my favorites are the sweet bbq and kinda hot. Sometimes, I get a little wild amid the two together for a little sweet spicy party in my mouth! We usually get the variety platter so we can try everything. I love how the meat is moist and come out just as you would hope for a bbq. We get a bit of brisket, rib, chicken pork --all so yummy. And the seasoning even without the sauces is great--can be eaten plain if you're a meat purist. The sides are pretty good or average, not super noteworthy. We do enjoy the fried funeral potatoes though as it's not really found anywhere else around Utah County and has some delicious flavors and textures. The small renovated house was not originally the most wheelchair accessible entrance, and was actually kind of haphazard inconvenient, with a small inside. However, they've done some renovations and it's a bit more accessible. Beware though if you're a wheelchair user because some of the tables are higher than others and not the most convenient height. read more

UPDATE: went back again. Immediately regrets it. There was hair in my food. The manger, Kaylen, did not take me serious when I called to complain. I had to still pay for the food that had hair in it. She made me feel stupid for calling. This place honestly is not going up. With the staff being ran by someone that doesn't listen to customers isn't a good look for them. My food was done 20 minutes after it was supposed to be done, and they sent me the email confirming it would be done at that time. CHECK TO MAKE SURE ALL YOUR FOOD IS THERE IF YOU DO TAKE OUT. We went, and the girl promised all our food was there, but just to be safe we sat and pulled everything out there - it was not all there. We were missing a whole meat plate. They were not super friendly when we brought up our concern, and continued to defend themselves. We argued with the kid until finally he counted up the plates and realized he was wrong. This place is very weird for me personally because it reminds me very intensely of my grandma Betty Sue's house in Texas. I honestly can't put my finger on why but it's like VERY strong deja vu every time I'm there. The food is good. Not, amazing but good. It's not like Texas BBQ and it's honestly, it's not fair to compare the two, but for it's good. I prefer their chicken since the house sauce goes so well with it but the beef is also dang good. The sides are fine but not great, the cornbread tastes fine but it's dry and crumbly and how can you sop up barbeque sauce with cornbread that is falling apart? The potato salad has too much stuff in it and the mac and cheese is kinda bland which is bananas because how? But, you don't go to a BBQ place for the sides, you're really there for the meat anyway and theirs is good. Also, they have red cream soda at their fountain (a rare and wondrous gem) and it's so damn texas to see it that I can almost forgive them for messing up mac & cheese. (Again, this might be the Deja Vu talking.) The parking is weird; it's easy to get in but you have to go all the way around the perimeter of the property to get out even with all that space, not much of it is dedicated to parking space. When it's busy the service gets... I don't want to say "bad" exactly, but like they forget stuff and like. Just check to make sure you have all your stuff before you drive away. Really wanted to keep this place at 5 stars but after my recent experience I wouldn't quite give it the recommendation that I used to. The meats all came wrapped tightly in foil which felt like a school lunch. Wasn't bad tasting, but definitely not the quality it used to be. The chicken was much fattier and several bites were inedible. The brisket was still decent, although wrapping it super tight in a ball of foil kind of made it soggy and felt like I was getting the scraps. Sides were still great, loved the Mac and the potatoes, but overall it wasn't what I used to love about coming here. The staff seemed pretty scrambled but still respect them trying considering the tough times. I hope they get it together post any covid rules. Utah needs more good BBQ read more

Some of the best BBQ I've had outside of Kansas City. Our party had brisket, ribs, and pork. Each meat was flavorful and tender. The herbed mashed potatoes were ok, but the beans were killer. The name says it all. The staff were very polite and kind. My friend and I all tried it for the first time today and we all loved it. The brisket was tender and juicy with a delicious flavor, the Cajun sausage was seasoned quite well and it went well with the house sauce. The corn bread was very moist and the cinnamon butter complicated it nicely. And BBQ beans and smashed potatoes were splendid, the chunks of brisket in the beans was a nice touch as were the skins in the potatoes. Yes, they run out of options as the day goes on but it's good and we keep coming back because it's worth it! Let me start with my favorites, ribs. They are moist, not overly greasy and seasoned perfectly. I hesitate to put sauce on them because they are just that tasty. Turkey, juicy and delicious. Definitely a family favorite. Brisket, the seasoning was bland for me. Perhaps I had an unseasoned batch regardless the meat was fall apart and delicious. Advice: make sure you specify the lean brisket unless you're a fan of globs of fat with little to no meat. The pork was yummy and chicken as well. Onto the sides which they do very, very well. My kids typically order the Mac and cheese. My husband and I prefer the mashed potatoes, baked beans, corn chowder soup or friend cheesy potatoes. The corn bread side is always yummy as well. The sauces have variety to them with good consistency and flavor. The sides here are also prepared well with flavor.
