    Chicken, sausage, brisket, and ribs

I arrived to order a takeout lunch on a Tuesday and it was packed!! Always a good sign. The cashier notified me that they were understaffed but we didn't wait long to be attended to or receive our food. The sides we tried: funeral potato's: a must try. Cole slaw: wonderful flavor. corn bread: amazing with the honey butter. Mac and cheese: nothing to write home about. The meats we tried: (overall they could've used a little salt) Sausage: juicy and spicy. Ribs: nice crust and falls off the bone. Chicken: smoky and tender. Brisket: fat decently rendered and just a tad dry.

What a pleasant surprise this place was. Love how cozy it is, and that you can look at the food as you order! There is a huge variety of sides to get which I appreciated. Definitely will eat here instead of R&R when I want BBQ in the future. I thought the 1 Meat Plate was a good deal. I asked for fattier brisket cuts which was super tender and yummy. The cornbread with the honey butter.....you can't go wrong. And I usually don't order mac & cheese because it always lacks flavor and salt haha. But their mac & cheese it sooooo cheesy and really good (pretty heavy, but still good haha). We also got fried okra which was yummy. Everything was super good, and portions were fairly large (including the sides!). We'll probably stick to the meat plates next time we come (just more food). Also the ladies serving us were very friendly and patient as we chose what we wanted!

5 Star gets a 1 Star. The brisket was TOUGH and DRY enough to back me up like a L.A. freeway at rush hour. Third time in a row where the meats are just crap. For $20 I expect meats the are more tender than a pair of leather soles. Done with this place.

I've always enjoyed 5 star bbq but it had been some time since I've last visited. The setting of the restaurant is a converted two-story residence with ample seating upstairs. There used to be only industrial buildings around, but now it's surrounded by newer commerce. The ribs were fresh and tasty, but be aware they are on the fattier side, if you prefer a more lean rib. The brisket was also tasty, but again you'll get some fatty pieces unless you speak up and prefer a more lean cut. The creamy corn is some of the best you'll try. The Mac n cheese was pretty good. The cornbread was good, with the whipped butter and is pretty dense. I tried some of the beans and they were smoky and delicious. The service was also great. We received great service from Sean and Spencer. Everyone else was nice and helpful as well.

I got here Thursday after work and it was quite empty. We were immediately served. The design style of this restaurant is definitely older/rustic. I ordered the brisket, pork with Mac and cheese, fries, mashed potatoes and creamy corn as a side. We were disappointed that the brisket and pork were dry, and that they gave me corn bread instead of the garlic toast I asked for. The fries were also a little too salty, and the corn and mashed potatoes were just ok. For the price and the quality of food, I won't be back!

Brisket was tasty but not as flavorful as I've had in Texas. Counter service was efficient. Felt like I as at a family reunion sort of vibe. Couldn't find the salad dressing until we were on the way out. Oh well.

Brisket sandwich. Chips were not great so maybe pick a different side but the sandwich was terrific.

5 Star lived up to its name. We had an overnight stop in Orem and BBQ pinged when we were searching for a dinner stop. If you want table clothes and cloth napkins, this ain't the place. But if you want some kick ass brisket, you won't be disappointed. Many times I find brisket too fatty but theirs is delicious and cooked to perfection. So good, I forgot to take pictures during our first stop. We went back the following day for round two. Oh yeah, pro tip. Try the fried funeral potatoes. Awesome!

The ribs were smothered in their raspberry bbq sauce which is just not good. Shame because the ribs were tender and cooked well. 2. The brisket. Who taught this person carving tonight how to cut brisket??!?! As someone who lived in central Texas for almost 6 years, the way this meat was cut was offensive. We got a a pound of brisket and they were cut into GIANT chunks almost an inch thick. Brisket is supposed to be SLICED and it's not supposed to be covered in sauce either. Thankfully the classic sauce is actually good but it ruins the bark!! The bark lost its peppery bite being covered in sauce. The point of brisket is it doesn't need sauce if it's done right. The chunks were so thick it made it chewy. Maybe if sliced thinner it would've been better. 3. The potato salad tasted like it was made with dole whip cream it was terribly sweet. The Mac and cheese had no flavor to it at all, and the beans were alright. 4. The sausage was flavorful and juicy. We finished that. I feel so bad for the people of Utah that think this is good bbq. It is not. I don't expect Texas bbq outside of Texas but this was just sad and not worth the $80 we spent. And what's worse is we are still hungry because the ribs were inedible and the brisket was so chewy. And, please please please go over meat carving with whoever was cutting the brisket this evening (4/7).

We ordered the chicken sandwich, buffalo cheese rosemary fries, sweet potato fries, and the beet salad. The chicken sandwich was pretty good, with a thick cut of chicken, though it could have used a bit more seasoning. The sweet potato fries come in one side and are crinkle cut - very good, though I wish they had normal crinkle cut fries too. The regular size rosemary fries was a bit on the smaller side, which is why we had to get another side of fries. The disappointing thing with the fries is that they make it sound like the fries are topped with the melted blue cheese, but it actually was just a side of sauce that came cold, which was unexpected. The beet salad was pretty good but could have used more vegetables on top of the greens. After you order, they come to your seat with the food. Overall, it is a big space that accommodate many customers with outdoor seating as well. We enjoyed our time here but there could be some improvements with the food. The food is a bit on the pricier side for fast casual, but the quality is good and worth it.

It felt a little odd walking through the back @ first, as we got a little peek into the kitchen. It didn't seem like we should have been back there, but once we got to the host area, we were assured that entering through the back is completely fine. As we sat there, we noticed many people doing the same thing. The place is western theme. Lots of fun pictures on the walls, random lighting and chairs, I personally loved the vibe. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful with suggestions on the menu. We felt right at home, great hospitality here. I wanted to try a burger that sounded really out of the ordinary, so I got the Grumpy Claire. It has apples on it, a savory caramel sauce, it just sounded insane, and I had to try it out. I also got an order of onion rings. The burger was cooked to perfection, had great flavor and was more delicious than I imagined. My husband got the Poco Bueno. I tried a bite, I did not like it. The reason I did not order it was because that sounded like a burger I'd find at any regular burger joint. The problem I had with the burger was the seasonings used. It tasted like a very strong taco seasoning was added to the patty. I do not like taco seasoning at all, so this was a No from me. My husband got an order of fries with his burger, which were very good! &Their fry sauce is amazing! The staff makes you feel like part of the family & check in on you consistently throughout your visit. I highly recommend trying Backdoor BRGR if you haven't yet! The pricing was fair, the staff is amazing, the owner is a sweetheart, and the food is incredible.
