I had dinner at 45 Bistro last weekend and it was incredible. I had the filet and my boyfriend got the rack of lamb. Both of our dishes were outstanding but the hands down best part is the beef carpaccio. Probably the best carpaccio I've ever had and had become my favorite in Savannah. We snacked on it with the bread that came to our table and wanted to lap up every single morsel on the plate. If you get the chance to come here, make sure you order that! Our service was great and our waiter very attentive. It was a great experience especially right before Christmas as the whole place is so festively decorated. I would highly recommend! read more

We did some research on where to go and were able to get a last minute (but late - 9 PM) reservation at 45 Bistro and it turned out to be the best meal we've had in a while! Our server (Steve) was great and the food was outstanding. He got the escargot app and the aged 16 oz ribeye special entree, and I got the bento box. It was all incredible. I can't say enough about the food, and the ambiance was wonderful for a date night. Highly recommend. We will be back! read more

I was a guest at 45 Bistro a few nights while I stayed at the Marshall House. Service is great - the bartenders are friendly and seem to remember everyone night to night even though they must meet a million people. I had drinks the first night and dinner and drinks the second, but only ate in the bar area. Cool atmosphere that blends well with the hotel. Food was delicious, especially the beef carpaccio... We really enjoyed this. Atmosphere, food & service were exceptional. We started with crabcakes and scallops. Lovely. My husband tried the swordfish special and I had the grouper. His was wonderful, but we both preferred my grouper. My daughters had the bib salad & pizza. They didn't love the pizza, but all was redeemed when the flourless chocolate torte arrived. We had our wedding at 45 Bistro on 6-23-18 and this place was great! Danny made everything extremely stress-free! Every idea I sent him he was able to accommodate and was very easy going and always responded quickly! The room was beautiful and the food was to die for (not your typical wedding food!). I looked around the room and everyone had cleaned their plates. The service was amazing and they didn't rush us through our pictures to flip the room from ceremony to reception. The bartender was also super friendly and was great at making drinks based on what people liked. We loved the appetizers too! I have nothing bad to say about this place at all and highly recommend it! Also, the cost compared to any other venue in the area is a lot lower! It was so nice to be back at 45 Bistro tonight, this was our first night out since all this COVID craziness. It didn't disappoint. Complements to the kitchen staff, we split the soft-shell crab as an appetizer, we each had the grouper, and creme brûlée for dessert. The grouper was cooked perfectly. We sat at the bar and shared the beet salad, plus three appetizers. The crab cake was one of the best I've ever had--Maryland style. The fried green tomato app was ok, and the brussel sprouts side was really good. They use lots of bacon, which we love, so that was all good. Tried their "signature" dessert, don't ask me the name of it, but it was a sort of parfait thing and was good, not amazing. Definitely a good meal, and on a thursday night, it wasn't too crowded. The service is always when we eat at 45 bistro. They have a lovely menu that changes with the seasons. I recommend the peppered filet minion, pom frits, and blue cheese. The interior of the dinning area is airy and well lit during the day, it's like eating on a patio, but you're still inside. The tables and surrounds always have nice fresh flowers and lush green palm plants. We don't go to the bar often, but it's a comfortable place to have a drink and talk. The bar tenders make exactly what you want how you want! I love to stop in to see the interesting paintings they show around the bar. read more

We were here for a rehearsal dinner last month. The glassed-in courtyard was a lovely venue that seemed at once spacious and intimate. The appetizers and drinks were fabulous. I enjoyed the gin and tonic with elderflower syrup. The cheese selection was wonderful. My husband had the steak, which was better than my fish. The chocolate cake was decadent. We had a wonderful time in this lovely space. The valet parking costs $10, but we lucked out and found a space in front on the street. read more

I went there for restaurant week, and the escargot appetizer was the highlight. It was buttery, delicious, and melted in your mouth. The steak frites entree was superb. The sweet potato fries were the best I've ever had. The only downside to having such a delicious appetizer and entree was that by the time dessert came, I was too full to enjoy it. They served a generous portion of creme brulee with berries. It had a nice thick crusty layer on top. Will definitely go back! read more

we been going in this restaurant with no problems but on my 60th birthday my hubby had surprise dinner for me and invited few of my friends and father/ inlaw. my steak i order did not come in temperature i asked while everyone is eating except me the celebrant. im very dissapointed the waiter is rude but my hubby still give him a very good tip because thats the way he is. i will not come back for sure.. read more

Came here for restaurant week and they had pretty amazing food! Initial impression was not great but that turned around after a while. We didn't have a reservation but took our chance anyway, they said there was about a 2 hr wait or try the bar area....we sat immediately at the bar with several open tables. They then informed us that they could not serve food for another hour for whatever reason but we could still get drinks. We almost left but decided to wait it out and I'm glad we did. I had a salad, some salmon with a pilaf rice, and a small scoop of ice cream with a small square brownie. The perfect amount! They were smaller portions than regular since it was part of the "restaurant week" menu but it ohhh was so tasty!! Haven't had that good of meal in a long time. The wait staff was friendly and accommodating. They were great. It is definitely more on the spendy side so be prepared especially if you're having a few drinks with your meal. read more

While visiting my son in Savannah, we ate a late dinner here. It looked very upscale from the outside and I felt I wasn't dressed appropriately, but no worries! We were welcomed warmly and enthusiastically by the waitstaff. I had the beet salad and it was delicious. Many layers of flavor. Also had the shrimp and grits. Also excellent. One of the worst servers we've ever had -- and he was the Asst Manager -- AND he wasn't even our server!! My wife & son ordered filets -- both medium rare. One came medium rare, the other medium. My wife asked to have hers returned, whereupon Mr. Asst Manager returned with the same dish, poking at the meat with a fork and indicating it was "certainly as ordered". Never had a dish pushed in my wife's face before. He left in a huff to return to the kitchen, and my wife politely tried to find our real server. Savannah is the most un-kid friendly town that I have been in when going to restaurants. With that said, this place went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The wait staff was very polite and helpful and the food was excellent. I got the rib eye and it was one of the best I've ever had. Wife got the lamb and my son got the duck 2ways. Both were cooked perfect with great flavor and plated nicely. My only complaints were that we couldn't get a reservation until 8 but when we got there many seats were open. The wine list was also small, but many of the wines were available by glass and they were open to tasting them. We'll definitely be back on our next trip to Savannah. read more

45 Bistro - more like 85 Bistro. My wife and I stayed at The Marshall House and had dinner at the Pink House which was awesome from the service to the food. BTW, we ate in the bar. We decided to have some drinks at the 45 Bistro located in our hotel. Nobody greeted us. We noticed that all of the customers had silver hair. We also noticed all of the staff seemed unpleasant. Sitting at the bar with six other customers we were glared at by the male bartenders and every time we needed drink or the bill I had to waive them over. My wife and I are forty four and have tattoos so it didn't seem like we fit their demographic. Last time I checked our money is the same color as the older folk's. And we tip really well. Our bartender, a blonde Harry Potter, was very curt. So needless to say, we didn't eat there the next night. read more

Is this an art gallery or a restaurant? When you first walk in to 45 Bistro and after the hostess finally finishes her conversation with the bartender before she seats you, no welcoming smile, and as much personality of lets say a.... brick, you notice all the paintings on the walls. The problem here is the track lighting, that lights up the paintings also lights up the customers. I was sat with track lighting hitting me like a deer in the headlights for an hour. The paintings look old and some look like they were painted by a 12 year old, particularly the one behind me going for $3300.00. The server laughed, agreed and said he liked the frame. I asked if they had ever sold one and he said in his many years at the bistro only one. We first ordered drinks and the bartender sent over 2 great Long Island Ice Teas, this guy knows how to make a drink, which unfortunately is why they are even getting 2 stars, we love the bartender! We ordered the blue crab cakes and the bento box for appetizers. The crab cakes were the soggiest I have ever had and quite honestly didn't smell all that fresh. The taste was below average, so we masked it with the sauce. The bento box with deep fried veggies, seared tuna, and 2 dumplings was also mediocre, it's hard to mess up deep fried anything, but this was nothing special. The main was 2 pizzas. My wife ordering the shrimp pizza after my warning the crab cake wasn't too fresh and I ordered the cheese and basil. Both came undercooked, the crust was like pita with no browning on it at all, only black marks underneath from a dirty pizza stone I would imagine. My wife wouldn't eat her shrimp...no surprise here as it looked and smelled old, so she set the shrimp aside and tried the pizza. She had the same opinion that it was undercooked and tasteless. I also ordered a side of wild mushroom risotto because I love a well done risotto. All I can say about this risotto is that it reminded me of wallpaper paste....really. I actually turned the plate upside down (after a 2nd ice tea) and it just hung there, I took one bite and it was just inedible. Did I mention we love the bartender? I think this place is in trouble. They have a hostess doubling as a waiter, we went on a Wednesday and there were only 4 tables filled and no one except us were under 60. The food was dismal, no taste, undercooked and not even smelling good. Service was good except for waiting at the hostess stand for 3 mins. Picked this out of a giant book of menus at the inn we stayed at. My husband had the filet which he was very happy with, and I had the duck two ways. We just ate your the other night and if I could I would give it 4.5 stars. The service is absolutely out of this world. I was with a party of five and we didn't have proper reservations and could not get reservations about five other places. This place graciously sat us and did not make us feel out of place in spite of some of the people in our party wearing sports jerseys, which is fairly not appropriate for fine dining. The appetizers were spectacular the entrees were very delicious and agreeable. The timing of everything coming to the table is impeccable so there's no long waits and things are coming too close together. Been here before I'm definitely going back again. read more

A relative was staying at the Marshall House on a visit so we decided to dine at 45 Bistro. What a fantastic choice! We all had different steaks and they were delicious. I had an aged ribeye with espresso sauce and it was so tender and flavorful. The sides were bright and fresh and the desserts were just the right amount of sweet and so elegantly prepared. The staff was so friendly and did not mind us staying at our table a long time to chat. We ordered espressos after our dessert and they were amazing. We went to 45 Bistro for our farewell dinner after a great visit to Savannah, and it was just disappointing. The ambiance was great and the tiny restaurant had a nice feel to it. However the food was subpar. I ordered the Filet medium and it came out rare to medium rare. It took a few minutes to get anyone's attention and they apologized and took it back for additional cook time. When I got it back it was medium rare at best (the middle was still rare) but I didn't feel like hassling so I just didn't eat most of it. My wife's salmon was a bit undercooked too but we decided not to complain, paid the bill and left. Not a great way to end an awesome trip. read more

I stopped in for a late night meal. The place is very quaint but the prices are high, even for Savannah. Food was good, but not amazing. Unfortunately the bar service is not as passionate as that in the restaurant. People next to me had to ask for menus, etc.. When I asked the bartender about the establishment's history, I was greeted with a lot of unexpected hesitation and "ummmms". I thought they would do a better job to keep me there but not this time. Ate here for the first time even though we have been to Savanah many times. The food was fabulous. My husband had the free range chicken over risotto. I had the ribeye with fingerling potatoes, mushrooms and asparagus. It was delicious and the food was prepared to perfection. The wine list was extensive and well rounded.
