Very clean salon. Had an appt for a manicure and a pedicure. I only waited about 5 min. I sat with Mia for my gel manicure with a design. She was very thorough, gentle, and took her time. I showed her a picture of a design. The manicure and design came out perfect. I also had a regular pedicure, it was great no complaints. She had great attention to detail - checking several times to make sure the lengths matched, the nail shapes matched, and that they were the length I wanted. Do not come here for a Dip Manicure. First they do not have a good color selection, that should have been a sign. Next they had to share one bottle of nail polish between two nail techs so clearly they are not equiped to do Dip. The tech ground my nails down so much that I had to pull away because I was in pain. It's the next day and 7 out of 10 nails are CHIPPED. How is that possible if I used Dip. No idea. I have been having Dip manicure for 2 years at various salons and they have always lasted at least two weeks without issue. I usually have to go for a mani after 3+ weeks because my nails get too long to type. The entire experience was frustrating. We should have known from the start when they were claiming gel is better. First time coming to a nail salon post covid. I was one of three customers. I called asking to schedule an appointment and they took me right away. Obviously wearing a mask, As I was walking in, the manager/owner opened the door and took my temp. I signed in and they require you to give your cellphone number. There was hand sanitizer is available at the front desk. I selected my color and got a regular pedicure. There was plexiglass between myself and the employee. They did most certainly follow the 6 ft rule too!! Other than that the materials were clean and they used disposable buffer and file. They cleaned the other utensils in front of me with soap and water. I'm happy with the way my toes came out Wish customer service was a bit friendlier as it was a completely silent appointment. The facility has spider webs and the floors look gross. Whatever lotion they put on my legs left them greasy feeling that I had to come home and shower. I work hard as a Chef and Beekeeper, and my nails go through all types of hell. So, wherever I get my nails done, they have to really come through for me. That being said, 4 U Nails & Spa in Cresskill NJ is a winner. The place is surgical clean and orderly. You never see a speck of anything, they are rabid about cleanliness. I get my gel mani done once a month and when I say it lasts -- if my nails didn't grow as quickly as they do (I think menopause sped them up lol) I could go even longer. But at 4 weeks, the grow-in is obvious and I don't like the way they look. I don't get them done because they are wrecked, I get them done monthly to change up the color and be pampered a bit. Funny story: last Saturday I was getting my gel mani and looked down the line and saw every client had picked some shade of pink. I had earlier switched my choice from a gorgeous turquoise to an OPI pink. We all laughed that it was the last mani of Summer. Come Fall, the colors are killer: deep metallic wines, sapphires, jades, the mattes are also stunning. Now I think I will go every 3 weeks, just to try all the colors. The technicians are friendly, but don't expect deep conversations; some aren't conversant in English, but all are stunningly polite. Two TVs are usually showing food network or animal planet, which is just fine. I leave my phone in my purse and just enjoy some quiet time. Pedis also last a long time, and the leg massages are wonderful; I just don't get them as often as my mani; maybe I should. Not the bottom of the pricing chain. The gel mani runs $35, and I tip 20%. I've been coming here for over a year now and bringing friends, but since the owner gave up the management responsibilities to the two Korean girls, the place has gone downhill. Today my experience was so bad that I will not go back there again. Last time I was getting my manicure I was told that they keep the bonus cards at the salon. So I gave my bonus card to them. This time I asked for my card and the main manager Korean girl looked through the cards and didn't find mine. They said I haven't given my card to them. And it was very embarrassing the way they communicated to me, speaking Korean between them, and from their face expressions I could tell, it wasn't anything pleasant. My friend, who was there, thought it was really rude too. They kept telling me I have already used it and hinting that I'm lying. It was very unpleasant and not cool. They kept looking through my cards and telling me I haven't given my card. At this point, if I was a manager, I'd say, maybe we have lost your card, we'll give you a 50% discount. But these girls were extremely careless and snobbish. After 5 minutes the same Korean girl finds my card, brings it to me and just gives it to me. No apologies, no explanation, nothing. It was extremely rude!!! Very very rude!! The manager girls are not personable at all, very rude and careless each time. They have just become very snobbish. I moved to NJ almost a year ago and was still traveling over the bridge to see my nail lady who has been doing my nails and feet for over 15 years! I am a true pain in the butt when it comes to my hair, nails and feet. Today after almost a year and being unable to make it to an appointment in NY I decided to give a place close to home a try. I yelped (as I do everything) and found 4 U Nails and spa, and I have to say I couldn't be happier! They were able to squeeze in a last min appointment and were absolutely amazing! Customer service and friendliness was outstanding! A+ I had my 1 and 1/2 year old and we all know how difficult that can sometimes be, but everyone (customers included) were so nice and engaging to him and he was very well behaved (well for a 1 year old at least)! Cleanliness- A+ one of the things I worry most about and I have to say you can tell from walking in right from the door they do a good job keeping things clean!!! I've visited this salon twice and left satisfied both times, once with Dana and the other with Michelle as my nail techs. I get UV gel full sets, which take a considerable amount of time and effort compared to regular manis. Both times I've gotten them done here, and both times I was very satisfied with my nails! Each tech was very careful and detail-oriented; my nails came out clean, no signs of sloppiness/carelessness. I also like to add designs, and both techs made my nails exactly as I wanted (blue/white marble; black/purple ombre). They both took their time to make sure my nails came out great, despite the extra amount of needed effort/time. Everyone here is also very kind. I've had no issues in terms of chipping or fading with the polish. Also, my nails lasted for more than a month - compared to other salons where my nails would break after about 2 weeks. It's a bit pricey but that's really just because I get the UV gel set, which compared to other salons are around the same range so I can't complain. I figure this might be my go-to place if I don't find another place that has the same level of quality but at a lower price. I've visited other salons but most were sloppy compared to this one. I also didn't feel rushed here despite the "higher maintenance" service I was requesting. Both times I had called same day to book an appointment, and they accommodated me. 2 stars because I've had two bad experiences in a row. Didn't say anything the first time but now I am upset. Even when making an appointment in advance, I've waited almost 30 minutes to be seated for a gel manicure. Additionally, I just paid $40 for a gel manicure that started chipping off within a week.. and I work at a desk job. There's no reason for my nails to chip other than cheap quality nail polish or a bad job!!! If my nails are going to chip in a week I might as well pay $10 for a regular manicure!!! In addition to chipped polish, two of my nails ripped in the middle of my nail. I currently have a finger bandaged because it ripped so low and bled.. which is a completely unique experience since getting my nails done. Not sure if this is related to 4 U Nails but it sure is peculiar timing.. Won't be back. The manicurist at he first station looked very confused which I noticed dispute the mask. She had me sit at her station and started my manicure. She then called out for someone in the back. A manicurist that I have never seen before came up and I was asked to switch seats. The she rattled some comments in Korean, which I felt was rude. The young woman doing my nails was Hispanic. I'm reviewing this salon after going here for my first time. The place is extremely clean and has a HUGE selection of colors, especially their gel polish. I had one lady shape my toes for my pedicure, I didn't catch her name but she was meticulous. I then had Chris paint my toes and she as well did an exceptional job. Chris did my gel manicure, which I am very particular about. She would shape them and then ask me to check if I liked them before starting to paint which I so appreciated. The nail technicians were both kind and service oriented. My pedicure was perfect. The tech took her time and my nails turned out as expected. I came here today in pinch. I missed my regular nail salon on Saturday and they are closed on Sundays. My hands looked awful. So I just yelped "nails" in my area. I called and made an appointment. I arrived early, and they took me. The shop in new and immaculate. There are lots of new polishes and gel colors.
