The owners of Karma built their business on the novel idea of creating a space that was safe for pregnant women, children, and those sensitive to allergies by using polishes and removers that didn't have traditional salon chemicals. To be fair, I have no idea what makes up their nail polishes, but I appreciate how it always smells like faint lavender instead of polishes whenever I come. Appointments are highly recommended, and I've never had to wait long before I was seen. I've now visited a fair number of times and noticed that the quality of the job really depends on who's doing it. One woman is painstaking and focused, creating beautifully shaped nails. Another woman seemed to work fast, which made for one irregularly shaped nail and polish that didn't quite make it to the nail bed. But the service is always friendly, and the vibes are always calm and quiet. On my first visit, I was given a discount card for a return visit, which was a nice touch. You won't find the fancy frills like massage chairs and jacuzzi tubs for pedicures, but a basic mani pedi service is $55, which I deem fair, especially considering I never have to endure a post-spa headache from breathing in fumes.. Finding parking can be a beast of a job in this area. It's paid street parking only (through the ParkMobile app), and spots can be limited depending on the time of day because of how many businesses are in the area. You might have to circle a few times, but I've since learned to include at least a five to ten minute time cushion when booking appointments just to look for parking.

It took an hour and 45 minutes to do a regular manicure and pedicure. And they don't answer their phones frequently. So changing an appointment can be hard.

They rush through services - my pedicure they didn't bother to remove dry skin, and my manicure chipped the next day. Don't help you at the end like putting Saran Wrap on or helping with pushing your pants back down from a pedicure. Every other place does these things. No longer returning there.

There was a miscommunication about one of the services I received. They had three employees get involved just to explain it to me. I felt like I was put on display. They were being really loud about it and making me uncomfortable. I ended up just paying so I wouldn't be embarrassed. The second issue was regarding Venmo. Recently they started accepting Venmo for payment but apparently they no longer are accepting Venmo. This wasn't communicated to me beforehand. The owner told me next time to check with him first. He was polite about it but after the other ordeal it just felt like a frustrating experience. UPDATE: The owner reached out to me afterwards to apologize for how it was handled. I really appreciate his professionalism and good customer service, which is what keeps me coming back. Review updated from 3 stars to 4.

I arrived at my appt and was escorted to the back where I recognized no one. The young woman asked a lady at one of the pedi bowls to take me, I quickly let her know I have an appt with Etelvina and it was at that moment she says, "management changed and they are no longer with them." I asked, "when did that happen," woman replies, "yesterday." GTFOH -- I told her, Nobody called to inform me (the customer) that this occurred and give me the option of cancelling or keeping the appt. If I wasnt in such dire need I would have left, which I ended up doing when it came time for the manicure. I was sat at a table with a tray of used tools and nail dust all over. When the woman proceeded to use them of me, abruptly I asked "are those sanitized!" She looked at me like she didn't understand what I was saying; in Korean they must of said something because the front desk lady came over and tried to convince me they were sanitized. Yeah no...I don't think so. They make you keep a mask on, but will use dirty tools used on everybody. Not I. Today was my last visit, emergency or other. Plus when I paid they didn't even have the credit card machine working...Venmo, Zelle or cash (thank god I had cash, which I hardly ever carry).

It isn't the kind of massage chair where you can lean back and relax so it doesn't offer the comfort and relaxation that I've grown to expect while getting a pedicure. Overall good experience. They are thorough and efficient which I love.
