This is my go-to spot for manis and pedis. For one, there's no fume cloud of nail polish and acetone that assault your nostrils as soon as you enter. The owners of Karma built their business on the novel idea of creating a space that was safe for pregnant women, children, and those sensitive to allergies by using polishes and removers that didn't have traditional salon chemicals. To be fair, I have no idea what makes up their nail polishes, but I appreciate how it always smells like faint lavender instead of polishes whenever I come. Appointments are highly recommended, and I've never had to wait long before I was seen. I've now visited a fair number of times and noticed that the quality of the job really depends on who's doing it. One woman is painstaking and focused, creating beautifully shaped nails. Another woman seemed to work fast, which made for one irregularly shaped nail and polish that didn't quite make it to the nail bed. But the service is always friendly, and the vibes are always calm and quiet. On my first visit, I was given a discount card for a return visit, which was a nice touch. You won't find the fancy frills like massage chairs and jacuzzi tubs for pedicures, but a basic mani pedi service is $55, which I deem fair, especially considering I never have to endure a post-spa headache from breathing in fumes.. Finding parking can be a beast of a job in this area. It's paid street parking only (through the ParkMobile app), and spots can be limited depending on the time of day because of how many businesses are in the area. You might have to circle a few times, but I've since learned to include at least a five to ten minute time cushion when booking appointments just to look for parking. read more

The service always make you wait and are unapologetic about it. They are short staffed and one of their main girls is outright rude. I waited 20 minutes for my service to start and then in between a pedicure and manicure I was made to wait twice...10 mints each time so she could finish someone else up. It took an hour and 45 minutes to do a regular manicure and pedicure. And they don't answer their phones frequently. So changing an appointment can be hard. read more

I have now visited both locations of Karma Organic Spa. I am extremely disappointed with this Englewood location. First, I had an appointment for 9am and I got there 8:50. The workers hid inside talking in the back of the store and didn't let me in u til exactly 9. They decided to set everything up and clean up at 9am when I got in there instead of before they opened. However, I'm especially shocked by the nail artist's attitude I got. She filed one of my big toe nails round and the other big toe nail square. Anyone would expect more from even the totally average salon let alone a luxury organic spa. I pointed it out to her and she said "Are you serious?". The owner said she'll fix it and she said no I can't under her breath. Then rest of the appointment she was very rude and condescending to me. This is so unprofessional and I would expect more from an expensive organic salon. I now have to pay another place to fix my nails before I go on vacation. Update: How unprofessional is the response I got from the manager of this salon to this review on google? This salon has some major customer service issues. Customers should be able to have a nail artist who knows how to file nails especially after paying so much. I came here two nights in a row, the first for a pedicure and the second for a manicure. The pedicure was fine- the rose petals in the water are a nice touch- but I don't know what happened with my manicure. I used the same polish as the pedicure and got the manicure at approximately 5:00 PM. I went to bed at 10:00 pm and when I woke up in the morning, all my nails were smudged by my sheets (?!) A manicure done properly shouldn't take five hours to dry. I'm not sure what happened, but I doubt I'll be back. read more

I did not find chair comfortable though the physical ambience was nice and the foot massage was good. However, the nonending constant chatter from the 2 ladies working there drove me almost to yell. The older woman just never stopped talking to the younger one about everything, loud and in Spanish from across the room. She even complained that someone did not pay on a previous day and this lasted a few minutes in front of customers. There was no place for Karma. No peace or relaxation. Never quite made it to being a 5 in my book, but has certainly downgraded to a well deserved 1 star. For a spell, I was a frequent visitor, and by frequent I mean, bi-weekly standing appt on Tuesday's. So much so, that when I stopped going [reason to come soon], it was noticed and questioned by the staff. However, over time the environment changed. There was rudeness on the part of the owner's wife and receptionist; the wife, very impersonal, picks and chooses, based off cultural background and race, whom she speaks to and treatment. I have witnessed how she has treated and spoken to the staff, whom are all Hispanic. The little Asian receptionist, who has been with them for over 11 years, and oversees both locations, does the same. Countless visits, there have been mess ups with her scheduling, and she chooses based off race certain accommodations. If you are this type of person, then this is the place for you. Outside of my own visits, I have purchased products from their retail store and gift certificates. There is no reason to treat customers who have helped build your business with disregard and rudeness. And today, that was experienced, by the Owner, Nas. Rudeness!!! It had been some months since the last visit, and it was commented on again by the staff when making the appt yesterday evening. So I was unaware of any price changes; the receptionist failed to mention that they are no longer running Specials. When speaking to the owner about being unaware of the changes, due to the time lapse, he was very rude about it, saying THEY HAD signs (haven't been there, how would one know) and there is nothing he can do about it. THOUGHT YOU WERE THE OWNER! But as is the name of this place, Karma...karma will circle back around. A good thing doesn't last forever...you expedite your demise when you start mistreating your customers. STANDARD PRACTICE should ALWAYS be to treat ALL PEOPLE with the same decency and respect. Well...I've tossed all my old nail polish! I do not live in NJ so I've unfortunately have not yet been able to go to the spa, however, I have been in search of nontoxic nail polish and acetone-free remover. I was delighted to find Karma Organics. This polish is so pretty and I feel so much better using a non-toxic remover as well. The remover is the best! It keeps my skin moisturized and I feel good about what im putting on my skin. I'm very happy with the product. I only wish more salons used non-toxic products like Karma Organics. read more

I came across this place when I was around the area and previously reading reviews; it was definitely a good decision. I've been coming here for more than a year now, and even though I live in another town I don't mind the drive cause I really like it. My go to girls are Diana and Jenny but the other ones are really nice and friendly. I like how clean and sanitize the place and the materials are. They have their own nail polish and more products. There's a good variety to choose and the polish last at least two weeks depending on what you do every day. I Give it 4 stars just because The only thing I really don't like ( and maybe it's not my business, but it's quite upsetting) is the fact that the workers don't have any space to have their lunch. A bunch of times, I saw them eating right next to the bathroom which I think it's pretty disgusting, they don't have an actual chair or a table. Avoid at all costs. My fiancé and I came to wax and clean up our eyebrows. Aside from refusing to use wax because it was apparently not ready the woman tended to us did not do a darn thing. The staff was incredibly friendly, and went above and beyond to make sure we were very comfortable, even offered us the most amazing cup of mint tea while having our lavender pedicures done! The polishes are rich in color and their is an amazing variety, there is no fear of breathing in chemicals or nasty fumes because everything is organic, natural and smells amazing. We also happened to meet the owner who exudes so much kindness, passion, and pride in the work he has put into Karma and his products. I went here today with my mom to get our first real out of the house manicure since COVID hit . We were very happy with our experience. It was very clean and had every COVID precaution in place that you would need to feel comfortable. We also each got a great manicure. We chose the Karma Rosemary Mint manicure it felt and smelled (even through our KN95s) very nice and pampering. It is also a huge plus that everything there is organic and natural - even the nail polish and remover. I will definitely come back here for a pedicure as well as each pedicure chair had its own dividers around it and they do not sit people next to each other that did not come together. I've been using Karma's breathable nail polish exclusively for the last year and a half since I threw away all my other polishes. It's so fantastic, I won't use anything else now! My toe nails used to get yellowed from the dyes in other polishes, and sometimes got white spots probably due to the impermeable coatings. Now my nails look beautiful and are super healthy. They look so pretty I often just use a coat of Karma Organic Spa breathable clear polish to show them off :) The unscented nail polish remover with vitamin E is also my go-to remover. I really enjoyed my mani/pedi there. Very clean, the pedicure tubs are not while pools but tubs with liners. The tools are newly sanitized and they break the filing board after each client. Wow!!! I loved the new nail polish, good karma, almost seemed like a light pink that I bought from their website. I am really very happy with this color shade, and they even sent natural nail polish remover wipes with soybean & orange blossom oil for free along with the nail polish I bought!! The nail polishes I bought previously also seem to strengthen and help my nails grow healthy. The nail polish color lasts on my nails for a long time too. This place is amazing, period. If you have any concerns about the toxicity of nail salons or the products they use, then this place is surreal. Sure, it costs a little more than what you might spend at one of the highly toxic places, but the technicians are lovely people, the smell of the place is intoxicating (think clean + lavender), and the products actually last. I travel an hour in each direction to get my nails done here. Because of the distance, it's a time splurge, but it's the only place I go these days--and sometimes, I bring my 5 year old for a special treat. It's far less crowded than the Ridgewood location (which is also amazing, but more hectic), and they can usually find an appointment for me if I have some flexibility. I like this place .. I don't love it. I liked that it's organic, smells fragrant, nice color selection, and (the main reason it gets 4 stars) the polish doesn't chip. A normal manicure typically lasts me a few days - this one has lasted over a week! On the negative side their hand/foot massage is subpar and the filing needs work. I had to correct a few of my toes once I got home that were still rough around edges. Their prices are also higher then the average but considering they are organic I justified it. Last, and maybe not relevant to most, but the owner asked if I was pregnant. I replied no but I did have a baby 12 weeks ago. She then went on to say ..
