Had a very bad experience. Diane is very rude and treated me very poorly when all I wanted was an appointment with her. She gave me an attitude and was being very rough with my hands. When I asked her if she was ok and why was she giving me attitude she said that was her personality and if I wanted her to do my nails. I then left and she only drilled off my nail color. I'm a very nice person and treat people with a lot of respect. The treatment I got today actually made me cry when I left. Please don't take things out on others. I went in for a fill/pedi, immediately got in. Pedi was decent, though the lady was on the phone and didn't ask if I'd like spa- which I would have totally opted for. Nails were done at a decent speed. This was done on a Tuesday, fast foward not even 5 hours my thumb nail breaks. I call in the morning since they were closed by 7p, told them my nail broke and requested a 3:40p appointment. I return and the lady is busy and I'm not seen until after 4:10p . My nail is fixed. Fast forward to Saturday. My pointer nail IS NOW BROKEN. I don't even care to call and get it fixed. I'm disappointed in the lack of care when I had returned for my first fixture as it took over thirty mins after I called that morning to make an appointment. So confused on how this place only has 3 stars. Nick & Vans have to be one of the best nail salons around. They have free airbrush, do awesome designs, and have the friendliest staff. They take their time on your nails and make appointments accordingly. I personally get my nails done by Jen who does amazing designs - you show her a picture of something and you get the exact outcome you expected. My mother goes to Van who is always so friendly and welcoming. The pedicure ladies do a great job on toes and one of them actually do great designs if you want it done on your toes! They are always so helpful if you break a nail, they will make sure to get you in and do a good fix. Prices are reasonable and overall just a great place. If you don't get your nails done here then you are missing out. read more

I have heard about Nick & Vans for a while. Several of my friends have gone. They had me follow Jen, who is a manicurist there, on Instagram. Jen does amazing artwork. While I liked the place I have been going to for a long time, I truly missed the artwork I would get all the time when I lived in San Jose, CA. So I decided on a lark to call to get an appointment. I was given an appt time by the owner who was scheduled to do my nails. He called me to let me know he was done earlier with a client and if I wanted I could come earlier. Of course I took him up on his offer. I was so pleasantly surprised by the covid precautions they were taking and the place was spotless. They had all kinds of products to choose from which was fantastic. The owner look one look at my nails that have acrylic on them and he said you bite your nails right? He was 100% correct. I loved how gentle he was while filing my nails. There is a mandatory nominal fee which he brought to my attention before he began that they give you a bag of filing products so that you have your own each time you return. While my other nail place as clean I can't be sure they cleaned the files between each customer so in the respect Nick & Van Nails have taken every aspect of possible covid spread and made sure to protect it customers. Terrible I had a regular manicure and pedicure . Both hand and foot nails were shaped poorly some square,some round. The polish was allied so badly-second coat did not cover whole nail just the middle - the base by the cuticle was uneven and sloppy - cuticles still have polish on them. I won't even go into the p i believe they do not cater to clients that have their natural nails . I do not get a chance financially to have regular manicure and pedicure. So, I was greatly disappointed that they did not look good. My friend wanted me to go back and complain . However ,there are times you just don't feel like the hassle. read more

They also require you to buy your own personal nail file set that you keep with you so there's no cross contamination between customers. Very nice staff. I like there work however, I have a health concern. When using dip powder, they put your finger INSIDE the dip container. They should pour it onto each finger. Yes it will waste more, but they will save themselves from causing serious infection, spreading fungus etc. from person to person. read more

I'm updating from my last review because I want to call attention to the person who did my nails today. His name was Ben. Of all the people who've done by nails here he was the most personable and the least pushy about upgrading my nail services. He would check and make sure I liked what he was doing and was just a nice presence. He did a great job on my nails especially since My engagement party is this weekend. Overall I used to frequent this place more out of settling but today changed that because he was great! I got a gel manicure with acrylic add ons for $45. Very happy with them! read more

5 stars for the BEST acrylic tips around! I've been going to Nick & Vans since I was in middle school, and I'm 28 now! I've never been picky with who I get. I usually come as a walk in, but there are times I schedule ahead of time. Best nail technicians are Van, obviously! I think Van usually works appointment based, but he's worth the wait. If you're looking for another great tech, I recommend Kenny - he's nice, professional and does an amazing job. And last but not least my FAVORITE Benjamin! Ben is quiet but personable, never pushes you towards an up-sell, and always doubles/triple checks if you like the polish before completing the hand. I went here to get my nails done for prom and I loved it. I got a gel manicure and regular pedicure and it cost me $43 which is an average price around this area. As soon as I walked in I was greeted by someone and was asked to put my name down on a list. I then went to go pick out colours. The same guy who greeted me helped me find matching colours for both gel and regular nail polish which was very helpful! The lady who did my pedicure was very nice and talked to me here and there while she was working. The guy who did my nails was named Jason and he was fantastic. I came in with already very long nails and he knew exactly what I wanted just by looking at them. He worked very well always checking with me if it was okay and what I wanted. When it came time for colour I showed him a picture and explained a few modifications and when he was done he got it spot on! I was very pleased. I didn't use this but they also have an airbrush station there so they can literally do anything with your nail design. The only annoying is the parking lot is pretty small but there's a restaurant next door which I'm pretty sure people park in for the nail salon. Overall very happy with my experience! read more

I've been coming here since I was 13 and everything was fine but clearly it's gone down hill. I came in today to get a set of tips and a pedicure and was only given the pedicure service. When asked where the other half of my appointment was, I was rudely accused of not having booked this service and was not helped with the confusion. They called me first then after 10 minutes of my mom sitting and waiting I asked if they were going to take her and they told me no it was too late.. WHAT! I had made an appointment for BOTH of us, also I had made the appointments for 2 manicures and pedicures I was only able to get my manicure. Nice staff, try to accommodate as much as possible. I have never made an appointment, I always just walk in. However, being this is a small town, they get busy sometimes and there is a short wait. I came here yesterday and got my nails done by one of the male techs. He did my nails and it only took him less than 20 minutes.. usually my nails take 45 minutes or more, ANY place I go. I got acrylic nails and I asked if I could have a design and the man ignored my request. Half way through him painting my nails a completely different color from what I originally wanted he asked if I wanted a design. Obviously i got a different color from my original plan, so why would I want the design I came in for still?? After 15 min go by of him rushing through my nails, I finally am told to go to the counter and pay. I didn't really take a great look at my nails but I knew they weren't good at all. I paid and gave a $10 tip on top of the nail costs. Then I go to my car and take a better look at my nails and they're absolutely horrible! People who get their nails done more than often know exactly what I mean (see pictures). So I called them and they said I could come back the next day to get them fixed. I drive 25 minutes back to the nail salon only to be told that I can only have the nail polish removed and put a new color on. So I just left and now I'm stuck with these nails read more

I got a really bad full set done 2 weeks ago. I've lost 4 nails due to them just falling off, not breaking. When I first walked out of the store it looked like they were already two weeks out grown. also they made me pay $50 for what I would normally pay 45 for. I don't mind paying the extra five dollars if maybe the shape I asked for some thing was unique but for them to do a horrible manicure and charge me more it was really upsetting. I can't even bring my fingers through my hair without all my hair getting stuck behind the nails because they were applied so horribly. there is a ton of lifting on the nails and they aren't flush to my nail. read more

This nail place overall did an amazing job but however I asked them for a checkered nail on my ring finger Andrade first the guy did it completely wrong and just put a bunch of squares on my nail. I told him that wasn't what I was going for and he nicely took me over to another woman who did the design. It didn't come out exwctly now I wanted it but I still loved the nails. The guy also cut my fingers when he was shaving down the nail to get rid of the bumps but it was clearly accidental. I recommend this place if your just getting a simple nail design. Was a LOYAL customer for 2 years. Great, fast, neat, precise work. Not the cleanest place (dust everywhere) but best prices in the area and never a wait. Loved the selection of gel polishes (DND & Perfect Match). My UV gel nails were always beautiful and I always got compliments on them. I recommended people to Ben all the time. I used to be treated nicely by my nail tech but not at my last two appts. He was rude and unprofessional. I hate when nail techs switch up on you. Not sure if he was having a bad day - both times - or just didn't want to service me anymore. I refuse to spend my money in an establishment that is rude and unprofessional to its customers. I overlooked not getting a shoulder massage afterwards or him even pushing back/cleaning up my cuticles a lonnnnng time ago, but PROFESSIONALISM, patience, greeting and saying "thank you" for your business and not getting smart with your LOYAL customers goes a long way. So I got married 7/31 and on July 8th I made appointments for myself, my 4 bridesmaids and my mom to all get our nails done on fri, 7/29 - the owner's brother guaranteed there would be enough people and that no other appointments would be made. we get there for our 11am appointments and ben is 2 people behind because he showed up late & the dumbass owner's brother booked many appointments before mine (WTF!!!) then jason originally refused to do my nails but did them anyway (they came out like shit and ben had to fix them!) and they made my mother wait THREE F'in hours... then refused to do her nails, UHM wtf? they also refused to do acrylic for my 2 sisters.. I made an appointment for mid afternoon on a Thursday. I had almost zero wait time. He listened to me, helped me choose a color from a very nice selection, and was very quick. Do not go here! I should have known to walk out when their selection of nail polish was dusty and old. The pedicure tubs are dirty and are definitely never cleaned properly. I noticed AFTER she cut my nails that the clippers were rusted & so was the cutical cutter!! A man that works there was brushing his teeth in front of me at the sink we use to wash during a manicure. One of the employees was sitting in a pedicure chair with her dirty outside shoes in the tub just socializing. Then she was blowing her nose & basically picking it and never washed her hands. Let me start by saying I am a very laid back person and NEVER one to make a negative review or complain about something if I am dissatisfied with it. However recently this was not the case. I have been to this salon a few times now because it was convenient and cheap, but the service is mediocre and facility itself is very dirty. In the past few weeks I went in to fill my UV gel manicure by Jason. during my appointment he was rushing my entire manicure and cut the edge of my thumb nail. At first I brushed it off because it happens sometimes but then I felt like he completely skipped a step in filling them, but I didn't say anything because I just thought I missed it when he did it?? By the end of my appointment the nails were beautiful and exactly what I wanted so I was happy.. Five Days later I noticed three of my nails are lifting. I immediately called to tell them and they allowed me to come in to get it fixed. When I came in Jason immediately accused me of being at fault, instead of apologizing. First he told me it was my nails and they are "no good" for UV gel manicures. Next it was the nail polish being he did 4 coats. I literally lifted my nail and showed him under the light all the nails were completely separated from my actual nail AND HE STILL ARGUED SAYING IT WAS MY FAULT. This went on the entire time I sat there to the point where I had people staring over at us. He refused to do the color i chose because that was what he blamed for this happening also, so I asked him to spray white french on my nails. after this we returned to the chair and he started putting the clear gel over the white to set it . I immediately pulled my hand out of the UV lamps in shock. He completely skipped the step of filling my nail! the line where my nail grew out was COMPLETELY showing!! This is where I lost it! How can you send a client out like that and be okay about it?! I made him take the white off and argued to put THE ORIGINAL color I wanted and got 5 days earlier, so he did exactly that while not only STILL arguing with me but talking to his neighbor in another language so I couldn't understand! After this he said "Done" and rudely just walked away from the station. Not one person who worked there apologized to me about this incident the entire time I was there. After I walked out you could see how terrible the paint job was but so upset that there was no way I would walk back into the salon... It has been 6 days since then and my middle finger nail is completely off. I have NEVER had my nails not last less than 4 weeks. I always take care of the maintenance of them and never ever had a problem like this. To say I am upset is an understatement. I am extremely disappointment with how unprofessional Jason was to the point where I felt I needed to share this. I 1000% will not be returning to this salon ever again. read more
