Update: I don't always remember to check in when I come here because with my two pups it's a whole palaver getting them out/in, but my reviews are consistently five stars! The wonderful Andrea and Toni at reception are such great ambassadors for 4 Paws: always smiling, helpful, and give the true vibe of a well-run and fun place for the dogs. Their bi-weekly "pawties" are such a great day with food and photos, socializing with other dogs while playing, and coming back home all happy and exhausted :) When I go away for more than a couple days I like to call in and ask how my two are doing, because even knowing they're happy and safe my dog mom heart misses them so much. Andrea and Toni will call me if there's anything not routine, for example Mimzy is a little stress bucket so often won't eat the first day: they will assess, add a bit of wet food and everything is all good. On the rare occasion when one of them (Mim usually but Tuck too) may have a loose stool they will call to make sure it's ok to add the wet food or see if there's other options I use at home. The grooming station is visible from the reception so you can watch how the dogs or cats are well taken care of. They have a good selection of toys for sale, doggie biscuits, and some fun cards for all occasions as you come in. 4 Paws is friendly, very well run by the Andrea and Toni team, and the other staff I don't always see as they're 'behind the scene' but I know they too care and love the four-legged guests The ambiance as you enter is either very quiet or as other pups are being dropped off / picked up their furballs and it's a place where laughter and good vibes are plentiful. One of my dogs sometimes gets an upset tummy when boarded and they always provide updates and do everything they can to help her feel better when she is away from home. We have brought our dogs here since 2012. In that time, they met Copper, Colt, Precious, Otto, Blondie, and Trixie. We know that they are well taken care of. 4 Paws will get in touch with us if there is any question about their health and welfare. 4 Paws is the only Pet Resort and grooming place we trust for our dogs. Molly and Franny just recently stayed for over two weeks with them while we traveled to Virgin Islands May 1 through May 18th 2025. They're always taken care of and loved by the staff. They even got to have a Pawty day while they stayed. Franny our small Westie is our difficult dog. She isn't as social with other dogs. Franny likes her own space and has quite the personality. The staff is well trained and knowledgeable with dogs so she is always in excellent hands. Molly is a Blue Bully Staffy breed and is the biggest baby. She is shy and took a lot of work from the staff to get her to play with the other large dogs. I want you to know that 4 Paws on Greenfield Road is hands down the best place to board your fur baby. We have been boarding them here and two past dogs for more than 5 years. This place is owned and managed by amazing people that love animals. They have always informed us of any issues that arose. They always have the patience to work with your pets. The other thing I think is important is how clean this boarding facility is. Someone stays 24 hours in the top apartment for safety of all pets boarding. They also have emergency veterinarian services if required and transport. As far as the grooming for them every 6 weeks we have no complaints. The groomer is amazing. She sure gets an ear full from bossy britches Fran Side Note: Several years back 4 Paws was totally booked out for the time we were vacationing. We had to utilize another facility in Chandler that was not affiliated with 4 Paws. That was the worst experience and mistake. The dogs were basically caged in small crates. When we picked them up they were both traumatized. Molly got sick while she was there and had to be taken to our veterinary immediately after we picked her up. After that horrible experience we learned that booking our trips ahead of time even a year out guarantees our babies stay at the absolute best boarding facility in the area. Our pup chorizo had his first orientation visit today and let me tell you....it went great. At first we were not sure how he was going to do since he's very skid dish and shy and anxious about new surroundings but we were kept updated on his progress and that he was warming up to the staff, slowly but surely! I didn't want to do this because I've been taking my little girl here for a very long time, and she loves it at 4Paws, and the staff was always so sweet and welcoming! ...but the stuff I went through with these people in the last year of my dogs life made me so mad that I didn't have any other choice. I had called in May to schedule an appointment with my little girl to get groomed because she was getting tangled. They said that they were booked until the end of July which was totally fine so I scheduled that appointment and decided to groom her as best as I could. Then, on July 12th, 4 Paws texted me and said that their groomer retired and they'd have to cancel my dogs appointment. I texted back and asked if I could reschedule with another groomer as she needed desperately now to be groomed. 4 Paws replied back saying that unfortunately they wouldn't have anything available until the end of SEPTEMBER!! so you're telling me that my little girl was just pushed aside and ignored? ‍ But...I just left the issue alone and went to another groomer, but recently, my dog passed, and now I'm grieving, and I want the world to stop so I can get off! Today I opened this app to give a weight loss place I go to an amazing review and Yelp opened up on the 4Paws page and I teared up and started screaming this review with tears streaming down my face...I wish I could give zero stars! Do not take your pet here. My dog has been going there for 2 years and recently he has been coming home smelling like a kennel and panting like he is over heated. Suddenly I received a call that they were having a problem with my dog. He was not behaving. He requires private play and i brought toys and explained how he plays and everything was fine until tge hired staff that appears not to be able handle large dogs. But yet he had no problem previously three months. It seems they have new staff that does not know how to handle dogs. I took him to another day care in the area and they have no problem handling him. If fact they loved him. read more

This makes me so sad. If I could give a 0 I would. My dog has been coming to this place since my dog was 10 weeks old she is now almost 8 years old. We bring Sadie here for grooming only. This time I brought Sadie to get groomed and Sadie immediately tried to escape and started crying. I should of followed my gut and turned around, but I didn't. I got a call about an hour in saying my dog was being super aggressive and they couldn't finish my dogs grooming job. I was super upset because my dog doesn't act aggressive unless someone is doing something to her or being mean to her. So my wife went and got her unfinished haircut in all and the groomer was very rude and needless to say we will NEVER go back to this establishment ever again. Choose wisely when it comes to grooming On the same day Sadie got groomed one of the managers called me to follow up on sadie's experience at 4 paws. Although the person was extremely nice and thoughtful after speaking with her and hearing what they had to say as well as giving my input there were still parts of the story that didn't add up. We were told by the groomer that Sadie was fine but come to find out they muzzled her for her to take a bath. After being muzzled everything went downhill from there. At the very end of the conversation the manager brought up potentially changing my review on yelp or basically saying we talked on the phone. Good day. I definitely rate 4 Paws Pet Resort a 5 ++++++++. I relocated to Arizona in 2012 from Nebraska. I had a wonderful pet resort in NE. Fortunately, I found 4 Paws in my new home. My usually less-than-friendly-to-people Chihuahua Airricka loves the personnel at 4 Paws. She has enjoyed many 30-day visits and pet groomings. When we drive into their parking lot, Airricka gets all excited. All the personnel greet Airricka by name and always ask about her. I would not leave Airricka or any of my pets with a facility that I did not have 100% confidence in. I am very happy with 4 Paws and plan to continue Airricka's happy visits with them. I tried making online reservations for my dog and was given an unavailable message, so I took her someplace else. well, after coming back from vacation, I find a $42 charge from 4 paws pet resort! they did call while I was gone and left a voice mail, trying to get my vet records, then called the next day and hung up. I called them today and the staff passed me around a few times, then said, well our system doesn't have an unavailable message, so NO...we are not going to refund your charge. I have often passed 4 Paws Resort and finally decided to give them a try. It was an excellent experience. The staff was very friendly and easy to work with on setting up my account. I toured the facility prior to booking and found it to be very clean, and efficient. Also very accomodating for my 2 high energy border collies. The kennels have an indoor/outdoor feature where the pups can go out to potty but are inside the rest of the time. Given they stayed over the 118 degree days; I was very happy they were inside with AC. The Resort also has someone onsite 24 hours, which was very reassuring. I purchased extra play time 2 times per day for both dogs. They had one group play and one private. The group play involved throwing balls, playing with the hose and running through a play pool. They absolutely loved it. I also had them groomed on the pick up day (a special they were running); so the pups came home clean and happy. They were a bit exhausted from all the activity. There was only 2 very minor glitches and that was my paper work from my Vet had to be faxed twice, and my request for 2 play times was mis-intepreted to be only one day (versus all 5). Fortunately I was good about following up and caught both these things upfront. I will definately use this bording service again! read more

I would give this place 0 stars if I could. RUDE RUDE RUDE staff that does not give a hoot about customer service. Completely unhappy with the groom and their nonchalant, couldn't-be-bothered attitude spoke volumes! While visiting a friend recently with my pooches, she recommended this place because she boards her babies here. Perhaps their pet hotel is better, but the "manager" that runs the front desk couldn't be bothered by my concerns of patchy marks, uneven ears and long nails. It wasn't cheap either, but I am used to high prices in So. Cal. I know my pooches aren't regulars, but you could at least look like you care about customer service - after all, customers are how you stay in business. Oh and if you want to talk to the owner, since the manager is awful, they/he/she are prob on vacation. I read in previous posts that I am not the only one to find that out. read more

Our dogs love it here. The staff is always friendly and welcoming. Knows our dogs even if its been a little while. We take two of them for grooming and they come back clean, pretty, and happy every time. Our Am Staff we have boarded here and she does great. I made a Yelp account just to make this review. I am not normally someone who reviews food, hotels, retailers...etc but this was just too much to not post something... We dropped our two dogs off on Monday and picked them up Friday. We had taken our two dogs before and didn't notice a problem. However, this time our dogs both came out looking like they hadn't been fed the entire time!!!! You can see every rib, hips, spine..etc and they are low energy and still trying to come back to normal. I am VERY disappointed and wish I had seen a review like this before I had taken my two dogs down there. Our dogs are a breed known to be lean (Vizslas) but this is on the extreme end. I am also not just a biased owner who is overly protective. One picture sent to my mother had her asking me what happened to the dogs and pretty much demanding that I call them. We've been using 4 Paws for our five dogs over 20 years. We started with the old location, and have been loyal customers for years and years. With the change in ownership has come a noticeable change in customer service, specifically, it seems to matter less what the customer wants. We took our new dog in for her first grooming, and told the groomer what our vet had suggested. Unfortunately the groomer decided to do what they normally do with pups, ignoring my request and the suggestion of our vet. This is just another of the subtle changes that have come to 4 Paws, none of which improve the experience for the pet or owner. read more

Nice clean place and very accommodating to my 140 pound labrador. They were very quick to respond when I made an online reservation for the first time and answered all my questions. After a three night stay and a bath, Charlie came out all soft, fluffy and smelled great. He hasn't been shedding like he was, despite it being June in Mesa. That is a pleasant surprise. We've used 4 Paws 2 years in a row, the first year was great although there were some faxing issues. This year we were charged for an extra day which 4 paws refused to refund even though we picked up a full 48 hours early and gave plenty of notice. We trusted that a credit for the extra days would be added to our account. When we dropped our dog of we were charged for too many days and were told that we could be refunded or credited if we didn't stay that long. We called the afternoon we got home telling them we would pick her up in the morning. We were told that would be fine. A few weeks after our last stay we had a death in the family and needed kennel services, when we called to make arrangements, 4 paws refused to honor our credits stating we did not give 24 hours notice before picking up our dog. They also said there were no notes that there should be a credit on the account. The staff member that my wife talked to insisted she was powerless to make a decision we would have to wait a week while the owner of 4 paws was on vacation. We have yet to hear back from anyone regarding this issue. We found a place to board our dog and won't recommend 4 paws to any of our friends, when we needed them, 4 paws refused to honor a 2 day credit basically holding us hostage when we needed them most. read more

Four Paws was welcoming to my older dog, George (12) who had just lost his life long companion last month. My leaving for more than ten days made me nervous but the staff at Four Paws were kind, sensitive to his needs, and understanding of his age and condition. We kept in contact by phone and I found their care and additional attention very positive. I have boarded my dog there only twice. The place is clean enough, but the staff is extremely unfriendly. They seem to charge extra if your dog is on a special diet, they won't measure out your dog's food because they have too many dogs to keep track of. I understand efficiency, but I also think it's unreasonable to make your customers measure out food, label the feeding instructions in separate zip lock bags. If you have too many dogs then perhaps you should hire more staff. Their hours of operation offer only a small window when you can pick up you dog on the weekends. NO STARS- Don't use these people or their services. I've been a loyal customer for up to two years for grooming. I took my dog in for grooming this past Saturday and he came home with his right ear length one inch longer than the left, however more importantly had a cut under his right eye. I called them immediately and the girl that answered didn't want to handle my complaint and kept trying to get me to speak with the groomer. I said no have the owner call me. As of Monday, I had not heard back from anyone, so I called again and Lindsey the GM said the owner was out of town and she would "deal" with me. At no time did she apologize, she demanded I drive back there so she could see my dog. I explained that I would send her a picture that day (Monday) of his cut and then she could call me. The picture clearly showed the cut under his eye. Lindsey called me back Wednesday afternoon and said she needed to see him because it was not obvious to her (WTF she must be blind). I had been using antibiotic ointment for 5 days, so today the cut was less obvious and I was not going to drag him over there and cause him any stress because she's an idiot. This company takes no responsibility and they could care less about how the animals or people customers. I didn't care about a refund but I expected an apology and that was clearly not going to happen. read more
