Who doesn't like Mexican? You can't go wrong with Mexican Cuisine and this place gets it right. My last visit occurred while NYC still had some Covid19 restrictions. With or without those restrictions, I'm very strict/cautious about covid precautions. I made this clear to the restaurant workers and they obliged my requests by seating my companion and I in their back room. So we had a table and room basically to ourselves. That great start was followed by some awesome, large portion tacos and tostadas. I ordered more than I could eat but I was glad to have a snack for later. Their chef really knows how to cook! Everything I've tried is absolutely delicious and their servings are huge. When you order a bag of chips, you literally get an entire bag of chips. It might be lame to get a grilled cheese at a place that mainly serves Mexican food. But this is exactly what I do because just like the rest of the menu, it tastes great. Only negative is that some items can be a bit too oily, like their empanadas and chips. I really like their avocado salad which comes with fresh avocado, tomatoes, radish, cucumbers, green peppers, and a side of limes. And you HAVE to get their sweet plantains--one of the best I've had. They were so OMG salty that it actually hurt my stomach to swallow it. then instead of meat the tostada was filled with grizzle and fat instead of meat. CAUTION! During their happy hour they charged me $38 for two margaritas. They hardly speak English. When I asked for an explanation she said they margaritas are typically $18 but their happy hour is $15. Very hard to believe being that this is a hole in the wall and their drinks are very watered down. This please was a big miss. I was early for an appointment and stopped by for a bite to eat. I ordered a chicken milanesa with rice and beans as well as an horchata. The milanesa was good, nice and crunchy. However, the rice had no flavor and the horchata was the worst I ever had. A weird grainy flavor. The food was delicious and the hospitality was awesome. This is a neighborhood no frills restaurant, so if you want a high-end atmosphere this is not the place.
