The birria tacos were so tasty and not too greasy, although didn't come with consume. I was especially surprised by how refreshing and tasty the Tostadas de Carne were as we got chicken, which I usually don't like. The lettuce on top tasted fresh stuck nicely to the refried beans and cotija cheese on top. Finally the empanada was yummy and reminded me of those I tried in Puerto Rico. How awesome for them to be open 2am late Sunday. I got the flauta and it was so yummy. I loved the queso inside. And the flauta had a good crunch to it. I loved the beans and rice especially. The hot sauce was delicious too. And I loved the fresh guava juice. They had the tv playing and it's a mini store as well. The menu had a pretty big selection. Ah, 3 AM tacos have become our shameless family tradition. Picture this: (petite, skinny) bites of pollo taco, carne enchilada taco, carnitas taco, and pollo empanadas, all while sipping on horchata like there's no tomorrow. To my defense, we're growing children (well, used to be...). Let's break it down: * Pollo Empanadas ($3/2) Underwhelming, to say the least. My sister claimed the crust was good. It was kind of soggy but not their fault. Made sense since the delivery was a long trip; other people's photos show yummy crispy empanadas. The stuffing was meh. Dry, overcooked, flavorless chicken but the red sauce really helped. Would have been nice if there were some veggies but can't complain cause it is a pollo empanada, not a pollo with veggie empanada. * Carne Enchilada Taco ($4/2) Two tacos on a BOGO deal? Yes, please! But alas, they were just okay. The soft shell had a stronger corny taste than expected. My sister's verdict: very average. And who am I to argue with that? Average is the new okay at 3 AM. * Pollo Taco ($4/2) Two more tacos, same shredded chicken, same story. Dry and flavorless. But hey, at least you can taste the cilantro, onion, and extra lime clearly here. They used the same dry chicken from the empanadas but with the added green sauce, it wasn't a biggie. * Carnitas Taco ($4/2) The pulled pork taco was tender (as expected), flavorful, and had a smoky taste. This one was the star of the taco trio, hands down. * Horchata ($5) Their horchata was a hit! Not overly sweet, with a stronger cinnamony taste. If you like extra cinnamon, this one's for you. A pleasant experience, with extra points for the great sauces on the side. The green cilantro sauce with a spicy kick was a game-changer, adding a fresh taste and making the tacos less overwhelming (and their chicken less dry). Definitely not the worst tasting tacos I've tried. For being open till 4 AM for some relatively tasty tacos, this place deserves some credit. read more

Wow! This Taqueria makes some delicious food. I almost forgot to take photos and make a yelp review. I was so hungry I went for a quick bite and that bite turned into me devouring half of my meal, Ha! I ordered through Ubereats. I stayed completely optimistic. I didn't know what to expect but when I tell you it was very delicious, I'm not kidding. I ordered quite a few things for my husband and I. He ate at a later time so I didn't get photos of his food either but he also loved it. I had a Carnitas Hurache and the flat corn dough crust it's made with was so soft and spicy. I like spicy food but not mega spicy and it had just the right kick to not be overwhelming hot. I also had Al Pastor tacos and Carnitas Tostadas. My husband had Cecina Tacos and Carnitas along with Al Pastor and a Tamarind drink. The Tacos and food is not plain, I want to preface this by saying don't expect a loaded taco. This Taqueria is straight onion, cilantro, crema and lettuce that's it. So whatever you order it will not be colorful and full of different flavors unless you purchase Pico or guacamole separate to add on your tacos or food. Speaking of Guacamole, I love how smooth and creamy it was. Prices are affordable and fulfilling for sure. In fact I'm thinking about ordering again tonight. Spoke to someone on the phone after receiving a carnitas burrito asking for a refund since I can't eat it and their excuse was "sorry no English" and apparently wasn't able to give any refund. We ordered chalupas with beef fresh and authentic. We had tacos with plenty beef and a bean/vegetarian taco. All the food was fresh and fabulous. Lots of lettuce, radis, fresh limes and green sauce! Yummy! The horchata beverage was fantastic, a quart was only 5 bucks. Plenty for sharing. It was light and not too sweet. It was flavored with cinnamon and possibly nutmeg. This is some of the best Mexican food in the neighborhood and the only reasonably priced. Support this place. If you're reading this you'll probably order something with chicken . They have chicken tinga (shredded in sauce), not grilled, which may turn some people off. It's not my favorite for tacos and burritos. Get something else if you don't like tinga and ask for the green salsa. The huaraches are also great. My wife's half-Mexican and I lived in California for 20 years. bad at delivering , I ordered Food and ask for delivery and they said okay then I waited about 30-45min to call back to ask about the eta and then they said 10 more min and then called me asking me if I canceled but I said no I didn't and then they said okay and then I called again about my food because it's been more than an hour and I asked them are they still delivering my food and they just said "No" for no reason. I almost don't want to review this place because then all you mofos will know how good it is and find a way to ruin it. But hands down the best Mexican food I've had in NYC and on my list of top 10 for the whole United States. The hurraches are absolutely exquisite--they place a thin layer of retried black beans inside the mass itself, and it's out of this world. The tacos are perfection--meat expertly prepared, topped only with onion and cilantro. My mouth is watering just thinking about them. And as it if could get any better, they are open during the pandemic and offering free delivery on multiple platforms, including grub hub/yelp. Don't second guess it. Just get your taco on. Highkey the only Taqueria in Bushwick that has authentic, good tasting, Mexican food. I've tried almost every other place and they all SUCK. I came from a neighborhood in Brooklyn with bomb taquerias, moved here thinking things would only get better and I was dead wrong. Idk if it's the gentrification but wow every other place is terribly bland and overpriced. Tacos at Itzels are on point, I will say I wish their tortillas were better. I order often and will be sad if my new place isn't within their delivery radius. They don't have it on the menus online but order a tostada de Tinga and you won't be disappointed.
