Visited this spot since my friends were talking about how good this spot was. I'd recommend coming here if you happen to be in Hollywood and are in the mood for some good eats that are not as overpriced as the local hotels. Located in the kitty corner plaza right across from Dream hotel, 3rd Base has an ambiance that's great for catching up with friends, grabbing a bite post or pre-event. I happened to be at this location specifically because 3rd Base was offering a 15% discount for attendees for the music summit I was attending. Ambiance: 8/10. They have tables as well as a small outdoor area. The bar takes up the majority of the restaurant. Bathroom lighting is great for those fire selfies. Food: 9/10. I'd give a 10/10 but the prices were a bit expensive: * black mamba burger: $26 * Philly cheesecake sliders: $20 * Parm Truffle Fries: $12 * Purple Yam Ice Cream Sandwich: $14 I'd recommend all listed above! The Philly Cheesecake Sliders are what really wowed me! From the bread (tasted as soft as hawaiian bread) to the queso cheese, to the au jus - it was wonderful. I legit said "wow" as I ate these babies. I was worried the purple yam black sesame ice cream sandwich would melt quick, but it was solid. Loved the black sesame crunch! In honor of Kobe Bryant's birthday, we ordered the Black Mamba burger which comes in a black bun, onion rings, cheddar - the patty could have used more seasoning but it was the onion rings for me~ the portion is pretty solid. Definitely could be shared amongst two people. Service: 5/10. Not sure if our server was having a bad day, but we could feel their energy and it wasn't as welcoming / hospitable. When we asked to order items or for the check, he sounded exhausted and never really engaged with us / gave any eye contact. First the waffle fries are beyond addicting and they come in their own cast iron skillet. Hopefully, the skillet negates the calories. My Wagyu burger was more hype than taste or value. Bartenders took good care of the crowd. My drink on the rocks required some extra time for the bourbon to become chilled but otherwise was fine. The hostesses here were some of the coldest people I've ever encountered. They were not friendly at all, gave off judgmental vibes, and told us the wait was an hour. No smile, no conversation, and it felt like they simply didn't want our business. The wait ended up being around 15 min. I decided to try this place out with some coworkers for brunch after seeing their margarita & mimosa flights. The parking lot is a bit tiny but there is plenty of metered street parking. There is also a paid parking lot towards the back of the restaurant. Went in on a Friday night. Great music, mostly r&b and hip hop that night. i always love it when the DJ looks like they're having fun. Strong drinks, clean, great service. Our cheesesticks were delicious. Stay away from the cheese steak fries. They look yummy but those tiny fries get cold fast! We picked this place because of the number of tv's and what looked like some delicious breakfast options. My husband is a big Dodgers fan so this place looked perfect. The hostess was nice to give us a booth by the big open windows since it was just the two of us and it was such a warm sunny day. We ordered the Bloody Mary and Michelada we saw other people ordering and they are bomb, lots of flavor and the right amount of spices and heat. Their mix is perfect so I asked and they use Bloody Gerry as their mix. The ambiance is upscale sports bar/ lounge, that could possibly turn into a club at night. Our server recommended the Dutch sugar baby. This is totally nostalgic bc my mom used to make this for me and me brother as kids. It comes with a ton of fruit, berries, grapes, etc, and yogurt. It was really good and not too sweet. My husband got the Big House Platter and it was huge and so good! Came with like 6 eggs, waffles, delicious avocado toast, fruit, and sausage or bacon. We made a reservation at noon so we were able to selected where we wanted to sit and choose the library area. We ordered the famous margarita tree, chicken and waffle sliders, wings, fries and an omelette. The wings were crispy and fresh, the chicken and waffles were good but chicken needed a bit more seasoning, drinks were strong and good (you get to choose from several different flavors) my favorite was the watermelon and pineapple. I came here to meet a few friends here and I had an iffy experience. Usually when I past this place, there's not many people here but Friday night during their happy hour it was pretty crowded. Keep that in mind as you're planning your time here. Happy hour had pretty decent prices for food and drinks (drinks are super strong but so good) but after happy hour, it gets pretty pricey for small portions. I booked two tables (one for five and another for eight). Once all parties arrived and were seated, another host let us know that the minimum is $50 per person to order. I just thought that was so absurd because when I booked it, none of the waitress or hostesses mentioned this to us. This caused half of our party to leave because it wasn't fair nor was it mentioned to us in the beginning. I would give this place a zero if I could! To start off the bartender (who I found out was the mgr) couldn't remember what I ordered! I had to tell him three times that I wanted a vodka tonic which is a very common drink and it tells you what is in it! He tried to up sell me some expensive vodka but I had to tell him no three times that the well vodka was fine and he asked me what was your drink again? He then poured me the weakest drink ever! My friend got the happy hour margarita that was so bad that he didn't want another one. After two drinks and some nachos I got the bill and they had added a 18% gratuity for large parties! Since when does two people constitute a large party??? When I asked him he said that was their policy. So they actually don't have to be any good at their jobs (or nice) and get a tip for doing nothing! It's too bad for them because I usually tip better than 18% when the service is good! As for the nachos they were pretty small portions and had diced chicken that were so small that you couldn't even taste the chicken. Dope spot!! Went with a group of friends, Love the vibe inside, it's got good/decent food, I personally liked it. The drink I got was good too. Upon arrival, they do ask for your ID, so it is a 21+ location. We got the cheesesteak fries which I think was my favorite out of everything, and the drink I got! They have TV's around the place and they even have a sports lounge, sports playing all around.
