During COVID-19, my mother and I would meet up regularly at 32 Shea to grab a drink and catch up outside. 32 Shea is an adorable coffee house which turns into a full restaurant later in the day (though they have food all day long). They have a small indoor seating area and a larger outdoor patio area all with fun decor (urban, modern hip feel). There is plenty of parking and free wifi, and the place is also very dog friendly. The staff are so helpful and very pleasant to speak with. They are also very COVID-19 conscious and promote a safe environment. My mother and I typically get similar drinks. She enjoys a caramel macchiato while I prefer a good hot cocoa. While we have yet to order food, we look forward to going during happy hour (see below) or lunch or dinner one day. We learned while we were sitting outside one Saturday afternoon that they transition to full service outdoors at 4 PM when dinner starts. They also have smoothies. Certainly, something to eat or drink for everyone! They are open daily (including a drive-through): Monday through Thursday from 6 AM to 9 PM, Friday from 6 AM to 10 PM, Saturday from 7 AM to 9 PM, and Sunday from 7 AM to 3 PM. If they are busy, they will even stay open later. They do not take reservations, but they do welcome customers to order online on their website (www.32shea.com) or to call ahead. You can also order using Door Dash or Post Mates or even arrange catering directly with 32 Shea. There are also different specials and discounts available! They have $4, $5, and $7 happy hour drinks from 7 AM to 7 PM daily and 2-hour Munchie Hour from 4-6 PM daily with food specials. They also have 1/2 price bottles of wine specials on Mondays and a special $25 bruschetta and bottle of wine on Mondays and Tuesdays. They also have 1/2 off the first bottle and $5 off the second bottle (also on Mondays, I believe). I have seen coupons in local publications and a Buy One Get One Free coupon in the Entertainment Book (for beverages). The latte was amazing but the toast was meh, probably wouldn't get it again. I think it's because the bread they use isn't a delicious scrumptious bread that should be used for any toast at a breakfast place imo. I used to really love this place and the service seemed to decline the last couple weeks. Ordered a coffee and for some reason waited a significant time. As I waited more cars lined up behind me in the drive thru just to realize they were waiting for the vehicle behind me food to be done to bring out my coffee. Okay. For coffee this place is fine. But I hate that the serve "NEW MEXICAN" burritos. I hated it 7 years ago and I hate it t today. I did have to ask if they have happy hour and she told me it's until 6pm so cocktails with asterisk was $9. I ended up ordering two more drinks--blueberry smashed mixed with the mint lemon drop was just okay and then the grapefruit martini was also just okay. Sometimes I don't like trying new things cuz it isn't as good as what you already ordered, but you just never know so have to try everything! I also learned they have some food items on happy hour--again, had to ask cuz I noticed it in their website. I live right down the street, so I've been here a lot, and we're lucky to have a place like this in the neighborhood. It's the kind of place where you can get good food and drinks for a reasonable price while you spend an afternoon catching up with friends or reading a book. My favorite thing to do is grab a drink and sandwich and enjoy the patio. When you're out there, under the shades and surrounded by plants you forget you're feet away from a busy street corner. Everything tasted good and fresh, a few disappointments though, my large soup serving size was less than a cup and my salad was missing the avocado (glad I had one at home).
