Food is great and reasonably priced and served in good portions too. Because many other Waikiki restaurants would jack the prices up simply because they could, the fact Deck's price points are lower than the most and the quality is better than the most is awesome. Highly recommend it.

First drink I tried to order was listed on the menu but server said it wasn't available. Sounded like the menu is undergoing some changes. 5/5 not your average mai tai. Bestie loved it. 5/5 Lilikoi margarita. This was pretty good. Small but tasty. 5/5 truffle fries starter. Shoestring fries perfectly crispy and the aioli was amazing. Generous Parmesan on top which was appreciated. 2/5 ordered a wedge salad appetizer to come out before the meal but it came out AFTER the meal. Missing the bacon and blue cheese crumbles were on the salad which wasn't listed on the menu. The lettuce looked wilted and onions looked old. Honestly super disappointing. 4/5 Huli Huli chicken. Rice was a bit dry but the chicken was really good. 5/5 Haupia French toast. What a star!! We prob didn't eat this until 30 minutes after the meal arrived since we had salad and chicken to eat, and holy moly this made up for everything. Treated it as a dessert and it was creamy in the middle and crunchy on top. The center was like a custard filling. Service was not great but she was trying. I think she may have been new, the things she was saying just needed some polish and refinement. She tried to check in periodically but kept forgetting us. Even mentioning the bacon on the salad I think the response was "oh man I don't know what's up with that". Lol! I would have taken a slice of bacon to crumble myself but nothing was offered. Overall I'd come back for the fries, drinks and French toast!

This time we went during dinner - we walked in like usual (no signs that say wait to be seated). Didn't know that it was table service only. My other half walked to the cashier while I stayed seated, he asked how it works..she said to order food from her, which he did. He came back to sit down, we waited for our food. Our food was ready, then we were told we couldn't sit and eat since it was table service only. We were then kicked-out...so embarrassed, why didn't they tell us sooner?

I like coming here because you can eat while enjoying live music, which makes for a fun atmosphere. This past visit was a little disappointing though (first pic). I usually order the ahi medium because I like it a little more cooked, but this time it came out closer to well done. I feel like it's always a little hard to know what cooking level to ask for because it seems to vary each time. I've been coming here over the years and have had plenty of good experiences, so I'm giving it 4 stars overall. But if I were rating just this most recent visit, it would definitely be closer to a 3.

Food quality was not the same and taste was not how I remembered it to be. Tge fried rice cane first and waited a lung time to get our main dishes. The rice in the fried rice was not fully cooked. And it was the wrong order of fried rice. The boneless short ribs and food fried chicken had no sauce and was dry. Our bill between the two us was $200 including the tip. We also ordered the poke and the pork item, can't even remember what it was. It was so awful it's best to forget cause it was also dry. I don't know what happened to this place. I was raving how the food was amazing to my dinner partner. Well you guys made me eat my words it was awful. We had so so much leftover. And it's still sitting in my fridge uneaten. What a waste. The waitress was not helpful at all. She couldn't help is with our order and was actually rushing us. And It wasn't even busy there on A Tuesday night. If your looking for local comfort food go somewhere else. This place has gone down hill.

Was just walking around and happened to walk inside of Duke's Lane. And there I see it... A sign that says Prime Rib. Well.. That sounds bomb! Looks like I have my restaurant and what I'm going to eat. So once dinner time hit, I head over to Basalt! The Prime Rib was delicious. Perfectly cooked and tender. It comes with mashed potatoes, vegetable medley, and creamy horseradish and au jus sauce. Ah everything was delicious! I finished it all! Washed it down with a Basalt Mai Tai! For dessert - I got the Mochi Brownie. Mmm.. Mmm.. So good! Also got hooked up with a scoop of vanilla gelato! (Make this a thing! Lol). I was stuffed and had to get some steps in before heading back to the hotel. Lol. Service - Really good and friendly. I sat at the bar and Mykah (sorry if I spelled your name wrong) was awesome and gave some good recommendations. Price $45 for the prime rib. Can't beat that! Will I be back? Oh heck yes! PICTURED 01. citrus-cured salmon toast: country bread, lemon-cream cheese, scrambled eggs, capers, red onions, chives, waipoli mixed greens ($22) if i could eat this for breakfast every day, i could envision becoming a morning person. i loved how the citrus and capers brightened every savory bite. the bread was perfectly toasted and the vegetables were wonderfully crisp. 02. crab cake benedict: english muffin, kale, two poached waialua eggs, hollandaise, yuzu kosho honey mustard, sidewinder potatoes ($28) this was a refreshing take on a classic breakfast item. the crab cake and potatoes were salted just right! 03. charcoal buttermilk pancakes: guava strawberry sauce, ash whipped cream, berries ($20) these pancakes were a DREAM: fluffy and accompanied by sauce that was not too sweet!

We haven't been back in a while because we honestly forgot about this spot, but this visit reminded us why we love it! We ordered takeout and got the Social Moco and chicken fajita quesadilla with truffle parm fries. Everything was cooked perfectly, and the Social Moco was PACKED! The service really stood out. Before handing us our order, the guy noticed some sauce leaking and took it back to clean it up before we even noticed. A little spilled sauce wouldn't have bothered me, but I really appreciated that extra care.10/10! Definitely coming back more often.

The plate was a mess and they both tasted completely different. Would I come back no! Would I recommend this place to anyone no!
