I reset my computer and it wouldn't get on the internet I could connect to my local network but no internet. Hours of time on the phone with cox still no internet! I used my phone and found this place He found out its my virus thing. I called Jeremy about fixing my laptop on a recent weekday, not only did he answer the phone personally (bonus!) the quote he gave me for my laptop was extremely reasonable and I ended up taking my laptop and my daughters as well. Both of our machines are kinda ancient and I expected a call back telling me they were really not worth fixing......So i was pleasantly surprised to receive a call a short while later outlining what would need to be done and how much it would cost. He also was frank with me about the pros and cons of Repairing vs.PurchasingNew.....so I gave him the go ahead, My daughters was done within 24 hours and mine within 48 hours ( he had to order a keyboard) and I could not be more pleased with the results. They both operate perfectly, my daughters is better than when we bought it, and it cost less than the price to replace even one of the two. He did not charge us for the diagnostics or his time. And, he still referred us to a "clean room" in the event we had to further attempt to recover any data. That is going the extra mile! If I could give him zero I would. I took my laptop to him due to all the good reviews and was desperate to have my laptop fixed. Not only did I get cheated out of my hard earned $120 he didn't even save any of my pics or data. In the original message he said he could save my pics on a flash drive. He installed windows 10 on my laptop top but didn't even look up to see if my computer was compatible with any of the drivers.. which it wasn't. He didn't take the time to really resolve my problem but he was quick to take my money. I'm beyond disappointed!! Another place I went to (Geek Squad) wanted $60 for the diagnostics and said they had to ship it to Kentucky for any repair will take 4-6 weeks. I spilled a glass of water on my laptop last night and it stopped working. I needed some technical assistance right away. I took to yelp to find someone in my area that could assist and came across 2J Technical Services. I am extremely glad I did. I called first thing this morning and Jeremy answered my call. I explained what happened, we discussed some possibilities and he said he would be in the shop around 10 AM if I wanted to bring it by. He then proactively called me at 9:30 to let me know he was there early and I was welcome to come by right away. When I got there, he said I could hang out while he looked at it, or I could leave and come back. I stayed and watched him take apart the machine and test a variety of things to narrow down the nature of the problem. Once diagnosed, he explained the costs of fixing it (parts & labor) and then recommended that I NOT fix it, as the value of repairing this older machine was not worth the cost. He was able to pull out the fully operational hard drive, which means that none of my data was lost. This was huge for me, and was my #1 priority. We talked about some specs for a new machine that I could buy and how I could connect the old hard drive to it to transfer the data over. When we were done, I asked him how much I owed him for his time and labor and he said "nothing - diagnostics are free." There's no doubt Jeremy could have charged me for his time, his advice, etc., but he didn't. He also could have encouraged me to do the repairs so that he could make some money out of the transaction, but he didn't. What this says to me is that Jeremy is someone who I can trust and who looks out for the best interests of his client and not simply about what can make him the most money. I fully intend to use his services in the future when I need computer help and I took a bunch of business cards to give out to friends. I highly recommend Jeremy and 2J Technical Services! read more
