Wagyu Brisket, Turkey, Spare Ribs, Beans and Coleslaw.
Chris M.

This place is pretty cool for DC! On my quest to find good bbq, this probably ranks somewhere near the top for DC. Service and Ambience and awesome! Wagyu Brisket was kind of dry, good smoke ring, flavor was ok - 7/10. Turkey was fairly decent, GREAT with the mustard sauce - 8/10 - mustard sauce 9.5. Spare ribs were dry, im not the maple flavor type - 3.5/10. Coleslaw is basic, stays pretty close to original flavors, which I like - 6.5/10. Beans are pretty basic too - 6/10. Not a bad spot really, I wouldnt come back on my own, but would with some friends to get the sandwiches! Overall - 7/10

2Fifty made its way to D.C. and can you blame them! They are the BEST BBQ in the DMV! One of my Yelp friends from Texas, Lupe, was in town so I had to meet him to do what foodies do! Eat! We ventured to Georgetown to do brunch but the venue was closed. He wanted to try this so his wish was my command! We pivoted and glad we did! Now, fast forward to this week. I was reminded of this review because my other sweet friend was in town and he wanted BBQ also. He also raved about this place so much so, he went back the next day! It really is that good! Let's get into it! Brisket - TO DIE FOR Cornbread - MY FAVORITE Potato Salad- Not the best I've had but good. I've literally gotten everything from brisket tamales to the Wagyu Brisket and it is ALL GOOD! Thank me later!

This barbecue spot is located in a trendy section of downtown. There is very limited street parking available. The restaurant has a patio area out front and a decent-sized dining area. There is a monitor in the dining area that shows the barbecue pit area, which I thought was really cool. The restaurant serves your favorite barbecue dishes, including ribs, brisket, sausage, and turkey chicken. You cannot place a same-day online order. If you want to order on the day, then you will have to go to the restaurant. The staff there was very friendly and helpful during the limited interaction that I had with them. I ordered the Wagyu brisket, with a side of brisket beans and elote. The food is already made, so it did not take them long to package it. My food was ok. The beans are not baked beans and did not taste like baked beans. They had a unique taste that I would classify as just ok. My brisket was really good. It had a lot of burnt ends, just like I like it. mmmmmmmmm. Now to the barbecue sauce. I was not a fan. It was ok and did not taste like any barbecue sauce that I have had. It did not do it for me. And on to the elote. It was mehhhh. It had too strong of a lime taste for me. It was overwhelming. I did eat my entire meal, but it was not the best. I would rank it as ok. Would I go back here? Yes, I would give this place another shot.

Solid BBQ in DC. The place is super clean, and ordering was easy. We grabbed the brisket and some sides--the meat was melt in your mouth tender. It's a bit pricey, but the whole vibe is slightly upscale. Sides were good too. Only weird thing--they close at 7:30 p.m., so don't show up late

I'm not a huge barbecue fan, but after 2Fifty was in the top 10 restaurants in 2026, I figured it was time to stop by! The interior is fun and warm. The menu is big and it took me some time to decide what to order! They also are clearly ready for big lines, but it was quiet at 4pm on a Friday. I got the Wagyu sandwich with two sides, Mac and cheese and beans. The sandwich was delicious, just a little too fatty for me. The Mac and cheese might be the best in the city! The beans weren't too sweet and were a good compliment to the sandwich. I wish it wasn't $22 but I think a real meat aficionado wouldn't mind the price!

2Fifty is one of my go-to spots whenever I'm in the DC area. It consistently delivers what I consider the best authentic Texas-style barbecue in the DMV. I also love the live screens showing the pitmasters working in their Maryland smokehouse--it's a small touch that really highlights the craft behind the food. The brisket is the highlight. Whether you pick the prime or the Wagyu, it's everything great brisket should be: perfectly smoked, incredibly tender, and full of rich, beefy flavor. The massive Dino ribs are another showstopper--I haven't tried it yet, but it looks epic. The sides hold their own as well. The mac and cheese and brisket beans are excellent, and the banana pudding is a must-order dessert. I also appreciate the subtle Latin American influence in dishes like chicharron, plantains, and esquites, which add a refreshing twist to a classic barbecue spread. They offer decent beer and wine choices, and the service is excellent. It's a comfortable space, with long lines at peak times, and prices tend to be on the higher side, but the quality makes it worth it. Overall, 2Fifty Texas BBQ is one of the top barbecue destinations in the region--often surpassing other local options significantly. If you're serious about smoked meats, this place should be at the top of your list.

The last BBQ I'd eaten before I came here was Michelin star Leroy and Lewis in Austin, TX. Obviously, that's an unfair marker to hold a DC BBQ spot to. We didn't quite get there, but I had a great meal here! We ate family style, so I got to try so many of the options offered here. Shoutout the chef for allowing us to try some of the lamb and pulled pork. The food ranged from alright to absolutely wonderful. Meat-wise, my favorite was the beef brisket and my least favorite was the pork rib. Side-wise, I'd strongly recommend the mac & cheese and the pineapple skewers. This is by far the best BBQ I've had in DC, but I definitely paid DC prices to eat it.

Love this place and the DC location it's very convenient. Inside it's classic texas bbq restaurant with meats by the pound and specials. I got the beef rib with beans and mac & cheese. The beef rib is my favorite its the best of both worlds ribs and brisket very savory and rich with salt and pepper flavor. The mac and cheese has been improved it has a great crunchy top and gooey center. The beans are nice and savory with brisket slices. Service is nice and friendly with quick service. Very helpful.

Worth the hype. Tried the prime brisket and enjoyed it with both sauces. Yes, 2Fifty is pricey. Some nice (upscale) details include plastic (cafeteria style) water glasses, portion size, and a clean (well laid out) dining room. As for the 'cue, both the wagyu and prime brisket were tasty. Our Prime was the first out of the new bag and you could REALLY tell. Moist, great bark, and perfectly seasoned. Our main recommendation would be to flash fry (warm) the plantains (and other "hot" sides) before serving.

It was buuuuuuuuuuusy! If you're going on a weekend or a day when there could be a lot of ppl off of work, pack your patience! We went early afternoon and it was packed! Because most of the bbq is sold by the weight, I think people are confused by that until they actually get to the counter to order... and there was a little samplin goin on that took more time. If it's just you, I'd start with .25lb of each meat you'd like and see what that looks like weight-wise. Once you're done selecting your meat, sides come; they're offered in 2 sizes; $7 and $13 I believe, and generously given. Then you get to the register and they pass your weighed ticket and you pay. There's seating in the front, back and patio, so there's space to sit and enjoy! You can also see the smokers in the back which is cool. The food was good. Fresh, hot, Mac and cheese was VERY cheesy, so that's a plus. They had 2 types of sausage, a beef sausage and a spicy cheddar which is a mix of pork and beef I believe. This is the first time that I've had a course-ground sausage, so something to get used to. Waygu brisket was good; look for it to be on the fattier side. The staff was nice, they're all attentive and patient given how ordering is handled. It looks like they run a very well oiled machine! I'll be back! Oh, it's on K st, so be patient with parking too!

Brisket, Esquitas, Puller Lamb, and Corn Bread.

Amazing BBQ. We ordered the brisket and pulled lamb. The esquitas (corn side) had a great contrast of flavors and the corn bread was fresh. There was a line, but service was efficient and polite. Great staff.

Been waiting a while since I saw the video exposé about 2Fifty BBQ in Riverdale, MD. I liked that the techniques used are from Texas. Charming little restaurant located the floor level of an apartment building. I do not believe the meats are smoked here at this location. Rather shipped/driven over from the Riverdale, MD location. So maybe that's why it probably wasn't a good as if it was cooked on location? We came early waited half an hour before the restaurant opened. There were quite a few people also waiting. We already that we decided to get the prime brisket, the dino rib as the main entree, then mac n cheese, zesty garden mix as side and a couple drinks. We would get banana pudding for dessert to go after we were done. The total came out to $113.00 before tip where the giant beef rib cost $55.00. The prime brisket was very meaty and beefy but not particularly moist and juicy. It was on the lean side. No fatty portion with this roast of brisket. Not particularly smokey or flavorful. Along with the meaty "Dino Rib", salt was missing with a heavy black pepper coating on both cuts of beef. It was good quality meat but the wood smoke flavor was lacking. Please salt the meat! Pepper alone isn't going do it. Dipping into bbq sauce will take away from the quality of the meat. The zesty garden mix of cucumbers, tomatoes, onions and watermelo radish was a nice refreshing pace to the heavy meats. But this was also missing something. Couldn't quite put my finger on it though. The Mac N Cheese was the star of the show. The textures and flavors were on point. Very smooth and cheesey. Good salt but not too salty with a nice crusty top. Best Mac N Cheese we've ever had. Worth the trip. Overall, service was good and so was the food but it wasn't close to being as GREAT as Bbq from Texas. It is on the pricey side tho. Only one refill of fountain soda per glass. Probably also need water as you need to wash down the food. We will try the banana pudding later this evening but it does look legit. Update: The Banana Pudding was legit! Natural smooth and delicious. Finished it in under 45 seconds. 10/10 The Mac N Cheese & Banana Pudding are must orders!

Mac and Cheese, esquites, dino rib, wagyu brisket, prime brisket, pork spareribs. I think we ordered too much.

Just flew into DC and after getting to the Air BnB, my wife and I were hungry. We wanted MEAT. I looked up this place on Yelp and it looked good. It was about a 10 minute walk to the restaurant. Right off the bat, You can tell there is latin flavor in this restaurant. We ordered mac and cheese, corn, prime and wagyu brisket, dino rib, burnt ends, and spare ribs. When you walk in, you walk to pick your meats first, then sides. Staff were friendly. After you grab your food, you go to a larger room in the back. Cool looking and laid back place. My favorite was probably the burnt ends. The dino rib is very rich. Of the two sides, we liked the mac and cheese more. The corn was a bit on the mushier side probably because of being in the steam table too long.

Just not worth it. The meat was too salty for my taste, the seasoning was too heavy, and it felt greasy.

This place is phenomenal!…read more We visited on a Thursday, just after they opened at 11. We were able to find street parking right out front, and order pretty quickly. We got a Dino Rib, Wagyu Brisket, cornbread, banana pudding, key lime pie, blackberry cider, and water, which totaled just under $100. And I will say it was well worth it!! The only thing we probably could have done without was the key lime pie. The employees were friendly and service was quick. The whole place gave instant Texas vibes, even the bathroom matched the bbq style, super cute. We will definitely return again.

Update. Not sure if…read morethis is a first review or not however; this has arguably the best bbq in the DMV. On this visit I went for lunch and I discovered the format for entering was more structured. The staff members created a system of restricted entry to prevent overcrowding and to allow more space for guests to dine in. I got the two different sandwiches and a slice of the key lime pie. The first sandwich was the pulled pork which is pictured below. Super tender and juicy with a mild seasoning and gentle smoke flavor. I do believe the long hold times until served loses some of the more potent smoke flavor but a very good sandwich. The other was the brisket sandwich with I think is the bargain option imo compared to ordering slices. The brisket was cooked to perfection, has good balance of flavors and texture. The brisket sandwich is roughly 1.5/2 full slices of brisket and I believe the 1/4 pound is roughly 3 full slices all dependent on the butcher cutting the slices. Neither sandwich needed any sauce to help it out. The key lime pie wasn't my favorite selection on this visit. I'm not sure if it's a house made recipe or outsourced. This slice flavor lacked the tartness from the lime and the custard had strands of coconut or something which was off putting from the texture. Some lime zest as a garnish on the top would work better here than integrated. Dear customer: Pricing here is a little high but please understand it's very difficult for bbq to make a profit margin after factoring the operational costs. Bbq is a labor intensive process to ensure you have a consistent and enjoyable product. Things to consider the parking is limited if the adjacent lot is full. You make have to park in the residential area and walk down. If possible pre-order your meal to save on the wait time. Dear 2Fifty: What would be awesome for the customers is adding a QR code for the menu for the outside guest. While in line several people had to wait to get a portable menu or until they entered the building to start their selection process. Many of which made comments about wanting to see a menu while they waited. Overall, this visit was a 4.3 out of 5.

When we checked in with the hostess, she said 20 minutes and I was surprised and happy. We were hungry. That 20 minutes past and then another 20 minutes passed before the hostess finally told us our table was ready. The place was packed. We were at table 22 which is in the front. Shortly, after being seated, I noticed there was a leak in the ceiling dripping onto the floor behind me. It didn't hit me. We waited, and waited, and waited for a server to come to our table. We informed another server that we didn't have one and she said she would go look into it. She didn't. At about 30 minutes we were trying to decide if we should leave, but I decided to go find the hostess and inform her that we did not have a server. 5 minutes later Tim showed up and apologized and took our order. I also informed him of the leak. He asked if I was getting wet I said no, but they should do something. They didn't put a bucket down. They didn't offer us another table. I ordered water. Tim brought a carafe of water and drinks for the other people, but never brought me a cup so we had to find him again and ask for a cup. When the robot arrived with our food, it went to the wrong table. It went to the table next to us, which was empty. Our food finally started to come, and our hot plate was placed. We asked for additional sides and when Tim arrive to check on us we had to inform him that the sides had not arrived. About 3/4 of the way into our meal, another family came in and sat at the table next to us. They were IMMEDIATELY greeted, set up and had their order taken. Also, when the place is full, it's loud. If you are noise sensitive, make sure you have your noise canceling headset. I've been to a few Korean barbecue places and I would say the food here is average. It wasn't awful. It wasn't phenomenal, but it wasn't good enough to make me want to go back.
