This cafe is in its soft opening, so prospective diners should take that into consideration before running off to complain into the Internet. The place is quiet, brightly lit, and has a calming atmosphere due to its bare walls (which I like). I was greeted immediately and allowed to sit where I wanted and the best part was after ordering, no one bothered me, which I appreciated. I ordered a drip Vietnamese coffee and it is strong with a good bitter sweet ratio. The spring roll was delightful. It is honestly one of the best I've ever had. I ate the pickled carrots and daikon on it own to taste the pickling and can confirm that it tastes homemade. The wrapping of the roll and temperature of the oil perfect to create this beautiful texture where it can encase the filling without any soggy bits. Fish sauce is fish sauce. I originally ordered the fried squid tentacles but sadly it was not available, so I pivot to the sizzling beef cubes and added rice. The other option was a baguette fyi. The cubes did not disappoint in presentation. It came out on a sizzling plate with two runny eggs and a sprinkle of cilantro that honestly, chefs kiss. I left it untouched so the bottom of the eggs can get fried and it did not disappoint. The onions were truly amazing in the black pepper garlic sauce. The cubes, evenly sliced, chewy, marinated to perfection, seasoned just right, paired with rice cooked the correct way makes me so happy. I delicately practiced intuitive eating so I could see how full this entire meal is and it is a lot of food. I packed up half of the cubes and rice to go for my dinner as I know this will be perfect as leftovers. Food was good but the service isn't great. there was 3 of us and we ordered our food. each of us ordered an entree and two of us added a fried egg and spring roll to our noodle bowls. no mods aside from the add on i just mentioned. watch one of our plates came out at different times, they forgot the fried egg on both of our entrees and gave our 3rd person the wrong meal. it took at least 10mins to get a waiters attention so we could let them know about the first missing egg (remember i said the food came out at different times). once i finally got my plate it took another 10mins to get the waiter again to get my missing egg. they weren't that busy so i don't know what's going on but i probably won't be back, grilled poke vermicelli bowl was good but nothing amazing. read more

I came to try the coffee, but the food was actually so good too. The meat quality was a nice surprise, both for their pho and the tenderloin for the shaken beef. The broth is clean and aromatic rather than being overly salty, which lets the flavor of the beef actually come through. I'm disappointed this restaurant wasn't better. We ordered the rare steak and brisket pho and a combo grilled chicken and grilled pork chop rice meal. My husband enjoyed the pho with the caveat that the meat on the pho was super tough. I thought the broth was not flavorful enough and the meat cuts were terribly tough but the noodles were a good texture and it was a big portion. I was super excited when my rice platter came out because it was beautiful and looked super delicious. The crispy egg roll was delicious. However the meats were just ok again due to the quality tasting not so high. The pork chop was thin, tough and fatty. The chicken thigh also tasted tough and I didn't like that they left the skin on it and the skin was not crisp and tough to cut off (not usually the case with chicken skin). Overall, worth a try but we probably won't go back as there are better pho places in the area. I enjoyed the open clean atmosphere and the delicious guava candy at the counter. I'd been sick and wanted hot water before the food came and they brought out a small tumbler so I can have it without it getting cold. ended up not drinking so much because I'd forgotten how hot the pho broth was, lol. The first time I came I had their special pho? It was the biggest bowl I've ever had, and I could barely finish it. Learned my lesson and now I only have the beef ball and brisket pho. Broth is clean and not so salty like some of the other places I've been to. Also tried their chicken wings the first time I came, and they were delicious as well. I've been getting their pho to-go more recently to feed my dad who has been sick. their to-go packaging is good and broth is hot after a 15 minute drive. I don't usually leave negative reviews, but this experience was too concerning not to share--especially for families dealing with food allergies or dietary restrictions. I was dining with a family member who has a serious gluten allergy. Before ordering, we made it very clear to our lady server that gluten was not an option and asked specific questions about the menu. The lady server assured us--very confidently--that everything we were looking at was gluten free. She repeated that the items were "all gluten free," which gave us a sense of reassurance at the time. Unfortunately, that turned out not to be true. After the food arrived, we noticed things that clearly did not appear gluten free. When we questioned it further, the answers became uncertain and inconsistent. It became obvious that the information we were given initially was inaccurate. For someone with a gluten allergy, that kind of mistake isn't minor--it can have serious health consequences. What was most disappointing was the casual way it was handled. There didn't seem to be a real understanding of how serious gluten allergies are, and it felt like our concerns were brushed aside. Saying "everything is gluten free" without actually verifying ingredients is irresponsible and potentially dangerous. The manager did fix this issue once pointed out their meatballs are not gluten free, but not without eye rolling and dirty looks from the waitress. Restaurants have a responsibility to properly train staff and provide accurate information--especially when it comes to allergens. I hope they take this as a wake-up call to improve their procedures. Until then, I would strongly caution anyone with a gluten allergy to be extremely careful dining here. read more

After updating the order, I waited for about 15 minutes, only to have the entire order suddenly canceled without any proper explanation. For context, the restaurant opens at 11:00 AM and I placed my order at 11:50 AM -- so you're telling me everything was already sold out within 50 minutes of opening? That is very hard to believe and extremely frustrating. This was a complete waste of time and left a very bad first impression. My wife and I tried 26 Viet Café today, and we were pleasantly surprised. I ordered the Spicy Bun Bo Hue Beef & Pork Soup with Shrimp & Vietnamese Ham Salad Roll. Both were excellent. The soup is as advertised, very spicy, but well within my comfort zone. It was full of meat and noodles and was just the right thing on a cold afternoon. The salad roll is a $4.00 add-on that is a great bargain. It was fresh, crisp, and huge. My wife had the Hainanese Chicken Rice and Vegetable Spring Rolls. I tried the chicken, which was delicious. This was my first experience with Hainan Chicken, and I now know why so many people love it. My wife said the $4.00 add-on spring roll was also excellent. She ordered the Iced Coffee, and I ordered the Iced Lime Soda. I loved both. The waitstaff is friendly, knowledgeable, and attentive. The restaurant is comfortable, if somewhat understated. It's a pleasant place to have a nice meal. Neither of us has eaten much Vietnamese food, but the long menu has many tempting options we will try on future visits.
