Just moved into this area and this has quickly became my sister and i's hang out area. We have fallen in love with not only their food but their service. The bartenders l we have encountered have been nothing but sweet, attentive, and filled with personality. We just enjoyed a few pounds of their crawfish. I got food to-go because we just got back from a weekend trip. I tried calling in my order first, I could never get through because the line stayed busy. Anyway, we ordered boneless wings, catfish platter, and burger nachos. I only got the catfish to see if it looked like the pic on the menu because on Friday they have all you can eat catfish. Save your money and eat else where, if you want Craw fish go to Drunken Oyster or LA Crawfish. Service there has always been hit and mostly missed and on the verga of non-existent saying it sucks would be giving them to much credit. Tonight they couldn't,t get an order of Double fried wings, doubled fried, seasoned correctly or even hot, the boneless wings and fries were cold and then the initial order of Craw-fish (4LBS) were cold, and we waited 30 min for the order. My son ate the cold wings he was hungry, they took the crawfish away and said they would fix it, 30 min later still no carwfish, 45 min later bang 1 lb of crawfish with shrimp, sausage and potatoes, then the original order of 4lbs show up, the waitress was informed that they dropped these off instead of the 4lb and she walked away with the 4lbs we had ordered and said she would have to see what to do. Needless to say we never got our 3 additional lbs of Crawfish and waited for an 1 hr to talk to a manger who would not even comp the food and only pushed a 25% discount. Save you money and stress and Eat, Drink and be Merry at another establishment that values there patrons because 242 sure as hell does not. If you are a woman and want to watch a certain sports game, avoid this restaurant/sports bar. A friend and I went today to watch the Astros game and asked for the TV closest to us to be put on the Astros, they were very nice about it and put the game right on. Later, the texans pre-season game was coming on and a man next to us asked to watch it also. Fine, I don't really care about the texans pre season but whatever. BUT, one TV had better quality than the other and the Astros were taken off of our TV and he was catered to. I've been here before about a year ago just for a beer though Last night I went for crawfish, it was early and they weren't busy at all! My crawfish had amazing flavor bust most were mushy and my waitress barely made an appearance. Another waitress was very sweet and said they were understaffed, which I FULLY understand but they weren't busy!!! I paid and tipped but I left without finishing anything. I will not be coming back!! Highly disappointed and management never even came by after my complaint. I waited over 20 min for my waitress and I finally got my tab from another waitress. For over 3 years, I have been coming to the place, I even bring all of my out of town family and friends here. When we go out, this is where we go. So imagine how disappointed I was when my order was terrible! I originally tried to place my order online, but due to the limitations of the technology, apparently I was unable to omit items off of the club sandwich. I HATE bacon. We then tried to call in our order and the phone would just ring and ring and ring. then it would stop, but no one was on the other end of the line. So finally my husband says screw it, he is going to drive up and place the order in person. This was supposed to be my sons birthday dinner, this is the place he requested. So my husband drivers there and places the order, yes they were busy. He tells the lady not to put bacon on the club sandwich, and that if they accidently put it on, that it would need remade. She insisted that it does not come with bacon on it. She then said that they were so busy, that they would call him when the order was ready so he went out to his car. He then called me and I reassured him that this meal does originally come with bacon (I get this sandwich from them all the time) so he went back in, found another girl and she confirmed that yes, the club comes with bacon. He explained the who bacon situation again and she said she would personally run back and tell them no bacon. now fast forward 45 minutes... he has still not heard about our food. Wondering where it was he decided to go in and he was happily greeted with out food. When he asked why no one called him... the lady said we do not offer that service. At that moment the first lady piped up and said, "sorry, I did say I would call you, but I just go to busy". DO NOT let your staff offer a service if they can not follow through! So he brings the food home (5 minute drive) The food was cold! The fries are soggy, the boudin balls were burnt and my club sandwich was made on a hamburger bun! Its supposed to come on toast. Everything was gross and had to be reheated... Mind you that this meal cost us $85 just to have to be reheated and tolerated at home. I then decide that hamburger bun or not, I was going to try my sandwich and sure enough, I take one bite and pull out a huge chunk of Bacon! I had to throw the whole thing in the trash!!!! When my husband calls the manager, his only offer was to remake in, in which case my husband would have to drive back over there. it was 815 at night and we were supposed to be celebrating our sons birthday... That was not an option. So that was it, the manager offered no other options... no reimbursement, no coupon for next time, nothing! I believe it is time we find a new favorite place. I get that accidents happen but this was ridiculous on so many fronts, and the manager was absolutely worthless. Also after the fact, My husband noticed that the fried pickles were supposed to be $3.99 that night and we got charged full price for them..... thank goodness the dog didn't mind them being soggy! :-( read more

So where do I begin.. i set at the bar for Maybe 5 minutes before being acknowledge when the bartender came over i made sure to order my drink and food because idk when she would return so i got my drink and 10 minutes still no food now i order crawfish and there was special tonight so surely you have some already made but nope still didn't get my food so i finally got the bartender attention and asked i the status of my order and if it wasn't ready to close me out because i had some where to be. She came back stated it wasn't ready and the i said ok just close me out. She the. Returns with the crawfish wth!!! Anyway I wasn't pleased with the service on the patio and i have been a repeat customer and after tonight i won't be returning to this location!!! read more

We went to this place once when it was Tailgators, I came back to see what had changed with the new ownership. I would say it is very similar--broad menu, informal atmosphere. A lived-in, slightly sticky feel, but not in a bad way. The Hooters knock-off atmosphere is still there but low key, and the name change also changes expectations. Solidly in the sports bar category. The menu, as noted above, is extensive with a lot of regional cuisines represented. In a place like this it makes me expect that all the dishes would be kind of mediocre. They do have a kids' menu, and seniors can order the reasonably priced lunch menu any time. I was there for lunch so did not have to reveal my exact age to get that choice. I decided to try the lunch ribeye steak with waffle fries, and an appetizer of boudin balls. Service was polite and consistent, but one thing put me off a bit. While ordering the steak I was asked "what kind of dressing I wanted on my salad". I asked for thousand island. Now, as I found out, the lunch does not come with a salad, it is extra. Not sure I would have asked for it. But it did give me an opportunity to try the salad. On the plus side, the salad is mostly spinach, a much more flavorful choice than iceberg lettuce. Otherwise it was pretty ordinary, middling fresh with ordinary dressing. My major question was "Can you get a decent small steak for $8?". Answer: Sort of. The steak was cooked correctly and it was tender, which is an achievement for a small steak. But it was not seasoned at all. You can season to taste, but of course that's limited to what's on the condiments tray, which has pretty much the usual stuff. Unseasoned is an option, to let you taste the meat, but I like it when you get some attempt at a seasoning recipe. The waffle fries were OK but a bit pale for my taste, and again are unseasoned. The boudin balls were not bad--fried very crisp on the outside and tender on the inside, like a boudin hushpuppy. The sauce had a nice kick. Not a whole lot of flavor otherwise. On the whole, it was pretty much what I expected. They have a nice beer selection so I think the emphasis is on the bar part. But a decent choice for a sit-down meal, and a good deal for lunch if you are careful. read more

I came to watch a specific college football game which was playing on a major network. I saw the game and sat at the bar in front of the TV. Right when I sat, they changed the channel assuming every person in the bar wanted every single TV on the same station. It took 15 minutes to get them to change it back. Normally, i would never order a steak from a bar and grill but they specifically advertise PRIME ribeyes for $23. I assumed they knew what they were doing. It's rare to find a good restaurant that has prime steaks let alone a bar and grill. I should have stuck with my instincts. It possibly WAS a prime ribeye but after ordering it med rare, it came out well,well done and it may as well have been a select sirloin. The cook obviously had no idea how to cook a steak. We went here for a late night bite after sport league. I ordered the seafood gumbo, and friend got the chicken fried steak. The portion for the chicken fried steak was very big, but normal for a guy. He finished it, even tho he didnt leave anything left, but he wasnt happy with the taste even when he was super hungry. My gumbo came out as some other type of gumbo but not the seafood one, so i had to send it back. It took a while. Its an ok place to visit. Im not sure about the crawfish. Ate here from out-of-town to watch football on Sunday. Lots of TVs! The drinks didn't seem very stout but otherwise fine. We only got the endless queso and salsa (added on guacamole for $0.99), which was very good. The other items coming out of the kitchen looked sooooo good and the portions were huge. Our waitress was very attentive. The only complaint I really have is that there was food/drink spilled all over the walls/big screens--I assume from fans slamming their drinks on the table. My son and I went to the 2920 Spring location on 03-11-20 at about 10:00pm. Our purpose was to order Crawfish. They were terribly small. I dont mean they were just small, they were ridiculously little. Our server was slow and not all that friendly to top it off. I had high hopes for this place as their Instagram page looks appealing, but I was super disappointed with their service. My friend and I had to sit out in the bar area/patio because the inside was too full which was fine considering there was an Astros game on. Nice spot to watch a game, TVs everywhere. After waiting about 15 minutes at our table one of the waiters finally came and asked us what we wanted to drink which we didn't receive for about 10 minutes--not so bad. Another 20-25 minutes before someone comes over to take our actual order which at this point we just ordered an appetizer. Another 25 minutes before we are checked on again for anymore drinks or any entree orders. We decide we are just going to ask for the tab and look to go some place else which takes ANOTHER 20 minutes for us just to ask for the tab, the waiter ends up forgetting that we even asked for it. While we are waiting for our tab another customer is seated for about 10 minutes until he gets up and walks to the bar to be acknowledged and let them know he was there. We got our tab and left. Every time we would look for our waiter it seems that nobody could be found. Nobody was behind the bar at times. I'm not sure what is up with the employees but please get a grip and retrain on customer service. read more

My family loves coming here to enjoy the great food and service. I enjoy the Flare Bites as an appetizer. I like to dip them in the Hot Wing Sauce. I also enjoy their wings and my wife likes skewers or the turkey sandwich. She likes to get the spicy chicken soup with any meal. And my kids are simple. They get pasta with butter and parmesan cheese. I also like the numerous beers on tap. This is also a great place to watch the Astros play on their numerous TVs. One of the reasons we visit this place a lot is Tonya. My two girls always ask my wife and me if we can go visit "Ms. Tonya" at 242. She is very kind and friendly to them, and my wife and me. Also, our orders are always accurate. She will continue to be one of the main reasons we eat here (sometimes multiple times a week.) This establishment is lucky to have her! read more

Check your bill before you pay! We were charged for a refill on iced tea that had not been refilled. Since when do you charge for refills on iced tea and soda? The food was good like it is most nights but the dessert of chocolate cake tasted burnt and chalky. I complained and they offered another piece. Saw many customers leave their tables and walk out. Manager presence was there but didn't seem to help any situation. One server complained to our table that they had given a table it's food 3 times and that was slowing up the kitchen. Communication was lacking. I Ordered crawfish to go and the girl said it would be 25 minutes my boyfriend waited 40 minutes in the restaurant for the food. The service was terrible and he waited for them to find the waitress who appeared to be gone so the communication is very poor apparently. I asked for the crawfish to be extra spicy and instead there was no seasoning on the crawfish. Melted butter was also asked for over the phone and they lacked in that too. While eating the food over half of the crawfish was under cooked or dead before being boiled. Really really beyond disappointment with the service and crappy food. read more
