First chicken fried chicken and gravy- someone added so much black pepper to both it made it hot and not something I would eat. Mashed potatoes usually have a cream texture. My husband and I went to dinner here last night on 8/2. Tables were sticky. The service was AWFUL! After sitting there for a good 10 minutes the waitress came over to take our drink order. She was not friendly and seemed very uninterested in taking our order. Another 10 minutes goes by, we get our drinks, place our order. She brought out a side of fries way before the rest of our order. She then brought out the wrong order and we had no silverware. We sat and ate fries while waiting for the correct order and for silverware. I've never seen a waitress move so slow. This place has gone downhill! Plenty of parking huge shared lot, plenty of tables and staff but it only Monday night, kinda slow so it's a nice chill setting. Both NFL games are on but not to loud or crazy. Hi I have been going here for about 2 years now. Last night I was given the new menu and did the prices ever go up. Even the couple that was next to me thought the prices were extremely high. I ordered the bowl of gumbo and it was half the size of other restaurants and three dollars for more than other restaurants. Compared to when I started going there the place was mostly packed with people. Now there is very few people going to this place. The ambulance is ok for a sports bar. I might be going back to see some friends that I have met there but I won't be ordering any food. read more

Me and a group of friends went to 242 last night for dinner and had the absolute worst time imaginable. Our waiter didn't even give us her name and checked on us a total of 2 times with us having to ask different workers there to refill drinks and etc. We ordered our food and the loaded fries were loaded with salt and it was way too much. Then I ordered 10 wings and then was told by the manager that my (1) other wing is on the way when why wouldn't you just wait for the other wing to be ready then bring our food out? The garlic cheese curds were pretty much just batter and had no cheese in them at all. Then at the end of it our waiter tells us the WiFi is down and that someone would have to stay here while others go and get cash from an ATM! Then we talked to a manager and she told me the complete opposite saying "no you can pay card" then we waited about 10 minutes for our cards to be processed and had to walk behind the bar to grab our own to go containers because it was taking too long. Oh and also noted we had no idea who the hell was working there? Only about 2 of the workers had 242 shirts on and the other workers had regular clothes on, so if we needed help on anything we had no idea who to ask. I'm very disappointed in this place since the 242 on 1488 was shut down and had way better service than what we received. Just don't. I've been coming here since it was a Tailgators and back then it would've been a solid 5. Management changed a hundred million times over the years and until it turned into 242. Now everything sucks. Food is small, dry, and tasteless. Just the usual cost cutting. Service sucks too and items are often out. I personally drive the extra 10-15 mins north to the actual Tailgators where the difference is night and day. And that place isn't even a 4! It's really sad what happened to this place as it used to be my favorite restaurant. I used to always say hi to the hardworking Mexican guy who cleans the tables. If you can't follow simple requests maybe you shouldnt be in the wait staff. Every wait staff were talking amongst each other rather than giving proper service. The food was ok, feast platter was bland the only good thing about it, the cook was so good you could eat the claws from the crawfish. Also they say they can toss the seafood in flavor, but when I asked him which flavor he said garlic parmesan.... Dude who tf tosses seafood in garlic parmesan are you dumb, deaf, or you don't know the flavors? Bfs burger bun was trash, sweet jalapeno bun fell apart after 3 bites he couldn't even enjoy it. The staff is great and fun to interact with. Service is attentive and food tastes great. The Oscar dip is 10/10 and the wings are always good. The manager Brandy checks in with how the service is throughout the visit and is always very sweet. They also have so many tv's so pretty much every game is available to watch. Each night called and was told the kitchen was closed earlier than the night before. Other times calling for a Togo the phone never gets answered or put on hold for extended amounts of time. When the crawfish arrived, it was missing a lot of things we asked for. They had to go back and get multiple times. And one person's dinner was missing something too. I don't think the draught beer lines have been cleaned in a while because several customers were sending their beers back and getting bottled beer. One customer told me it is well known that this place's draught beer tastes weird. I overheard another table get upset because the manager argued with them that their beer was right and they were saying it may be right, but it's sour and we aren't drinking it. This is a sports bar with lots of TV screens. Parking is big and space are available. For a pub, the selection of draft beers was a bit limited, but chilled well and delicious. Ordered double fried wings in Texas hot sauce. They are spiciest wings offered. They were soaking in the sauce but bit too much sauce for me personally. I prefer when they stick to chicken. Chicken was okay, double fry wasn't crispy, but just hard. They were spicy but more on salty side. The fries were delicious, but too much cheese. So let's start off by saying that when we walked in, there was nobody there to greet or seat, or anything like that which normally there is. Find ourselves over to a table it took roughly 7 to 8 minutes before a server even greeted us. It is crawfish season so of course, along time ago like five years ago the crawfish there used to be pretty decent. It was really good and they're buffalo wings are really good so after the last experience, we were there which wasn't very good. We thought we will try it again. We ordered 3 pounds of crawfish. They were average size but the problem was they were cold. We ordered 12 wings. They were good but they were called but the server never came back to ask us if the food was OK so we sat there for a few minutes. Once we realize the food was cold to see if somebody would come and help us and everybody's walking around hi5 and taking turns going in and out of the cooler but nobody comes to check on us to make sure our foods OK needless to say we will never go to this location ever again I don't suggest going here it has went highly downhill from when we were there a few years ago and even then it was high mediocre at best so I don't know who's running this place but you need to sharpen up your game or you're gonna be out of business in a year. Honestly this place used to be really good food wise and the prices were right. I know things are expensive now but how can you make the food portions two times smaller and then double the prices. Not to mention the appetizers sampler is now $35. You're crazy. The drinks have always been mid and the service has never been great. We mostly came for good priced food and decent priced drinks but after seeing the price changes and food portions I was highly disappointed. To add to the disappointment the entire time we've been here a server that was taking tables around us and is still very obviously on the clock is standing at a table with what I can only guess is either an off duty sever or past sever leaving the only server on the floor to manage the growing amount of tables by himself. It's sad. The guy obviously needs help and this woman is too busy flirting with a boy three times younger than her. We love 242 but I was wary to do delivery and I was right to be. The portions for delivery are much smaller than when dining on site and it's not inexpensive. $12 Oscar dip is less than half full. All sides are less than half full and the bowl (which is the larger size) of gumbo is tiny with two super small condiment cups of rice. Horrible, horrible, horrible! I was really disappointed in the food quality, as this chain was recommended by a friend. The fried mushrooms were probably some of the worst we ever had. They were cut several times, like mushroom hits - not even real slices. The pork skins just tasted fresh from a bag and heated. And the chicken wings were old. They were clearly already cooked, then refilled in oil to appear fresh. They came out way, way too fast - which is another reason we knew they were freshly made. Still one of my favs. Great atmosphere and good food. We've tried the wings, crawfish (love them), various Mac and cheeses (love it), burgers, Cajun pasta, boiled shrimp (another fav), chicken fried steak, etc. They usually have nice drink specials as well. Ordered through DoorDash and the bags were tied closed so I know the driver could not verify the order since they aren't supposed to open sealed/tied bags. We ordered the catfish dinner, beer-battered shrimp, chips and queso, plus additional sauces. The additional sauces alone cost approximately $7. Upon receiving the order, the fried cat fish was semi mushy but we air fried it to correct that The beer battered shrimp was delicious and the shrimps were very large. No sauces were received. Not the sauces that come with the meals not the additional sauces. We did call to let the manager know that pick up orders may need to be checked a little better before being sent out. I am sure they were bust but he seemed very rushed and not worried about our order. He offered free chips on our next visit to make up for the $7 worth of sauces. I try not to leave bad reviews but have had similar issues with orders here even during visits or omirders personally picked up. I'm sure we will give them another chance but it was a little disappointing again. read more
