Best Sliders and onion rings ever!
Victor A.

Stumbled on this little place for lunch after visiting the State House and Athenaeum past lunch time the wife and I were hungry and thirsty! Place was not super busy and our server Izzy was on it...she seated us immediately and took our drink and food orders. We snacked on spinach dip which was pretty filling and ordered some cups of clam chowda! The chef put some southwestern flavor which I thought was fabulous, since we are from TX! We finished by ordering the plate of sliders and by far, the best pub sliders I have ever had! Everything we ate was amazing. Izzy was energetic and never let our glasses go empty! The building was historic and it felt like you walked back in time! We would go back in heart beat for sure!

Was looking for an old pub and 21st delivered with that. We ordered food and wasn't sure what we would be getting. We all thought some typical deep fried bar food. Not the case. Everything was good. Salads, Buffalo chicken wrap, sweet potato fries. Service was slow but think it was due to shortage on staff.

This is a historical place. Come in and feel like you are in a dark lit speakeasy from the Victorian era circa 1899. JFK wrote his speeches here when he ran for congress. Our bartender Nick ran next door to find a special bourbon for us. Love this place! You must come visit!

I sat in Thomas Jefferson's favorite wooden chair This place also has a bathroom And space for at least 90 people

My fish & chips was delicious and so was the pint of Guinness! We didn't see any ghosts, but I'm sure one lives there just by looking g at the dark wood ceilings and some authentic decor. I would've given them a 5 star, but when we told our waitress we all wanted separate checks because it was a business trip she said she could only bring one check per table. Well, we gave her 4 credit cards and asked her to charge our individual items... which made her have to give us separate checks anyway!

On our spooky girls trip to Boston/Salem, we stopped at the 21st Amendment to have a beer. I loved that the place was full of locals and that they were so welcoming. Thank You! The 5 girls Miami/Ft. Lauderdale will be back!

Good food great beer but man 8 dollars per pint for their featured beer. Might as well be in Fenway Park for those prices.

If we hadn't been on a food tour earlier in the day we might have had 5 drinks, but alas our stomach space was limited. The servers here were very attentive without hovering, we had no complaints other than we wish we could have had every drink. The first drinks we ordered were the Fluffy, Frothy, Inflatable, Tube man and the He-Man Go! The tubeman was so good my wife who normally doesn't like comparing really enjoyed her cocktail. My He-Man go was unique, light, and refreshing reminding me a little of a tomato-tini I made a few years back and also made me think of a Margherita pizza...very unique. Being full my wife opted against a 2nd drink and I ordered the Bop It! It was so unique...goat cheese in a drink? And it tastes good? You betcha! It was sweet, savory, and funky! I'm sharing a description of the drinks so you can get a better feel of the complexity and thought they put into their offerings. On a side note they serve food as well which looked great!

If you've ever been to Backbar, it's the same great quality of drinks just south of the river! Service was great and super attentive when refilling water and getting our orders in. This place was awesome!!!…read more If you are a Gen X'er, and love great cocktails, you will love this place! So we are from out of town; Texas, to be exact, and we were in Boston on vacation. We were looking for a place we could get some drinks and appetizers, and maybe watch some sports. A person in our group found this place online, so we gave it a try. We loved it! The 80s & 90s decor, as well as the 80s & 90s music they were playing made it an instant hit for our Gen X group. Every single song that was played was on my personal playlist, so we sang along and danced at our table to the tunes that took us back in time. There were some early 2000s songs played, too, but all songs played were songs we know and love. So needless to say, we loved the music!! Also, the drinks...oh my, the drinks. They were so, so good! Some in our group had the Adult Caprisun, including myself. It was so tasty, and served in an actual pouch, which brought me back to my 80s childhood. Another in our group ordered the Pink Flamingo which came with a little inflatable pink flamingo that you could take home with you. We noticed that the drinks were just perfect, too; not too strong with alcohol, and not watered down, either. The food was okay. It's bar food, so it's not going to knock your socks off or anything, but it hits the spot if you are drinking and hanging with friends. Our server was good. She was attentive to our needs and took good care of us. It was interesting to me that we, a group of age 50 somethings, were the oldest among the clientele, as everyone else was probably in their 20s or early 30s, but we didn't care. We had a great time! The only reason I did not give this place 5 stars is because someone in our group wanted to watch the Red Sox game, and apparently it was on Apple TV that night and the bar didn't have Apple TV.

The atmosphere is very casual and low-key, perfect for grabbing drinks and a bite without any pretense. I ordered a flatbread listed as a Margarita, but it was more like a cheese pizza than a true Margarita. It was still decent, just not what I expected. The online menu did not match what was available at the restaurant, which made ordering a little confusing. On the drink side, the wine selection was underwhelming, but the beer list was solid, and the cocktail menu stood out. They clearly put more focus on mixed drinks. This is not a fine dining destination, but it works well for what it is, a laid-back bar with better-than-average food and a great drink program. I rate it 3.5 stars, but will round up to 4 for the strong service and cocktails. It is a good choice if you're looking for a casual spot downtown with good energy.

So of course we had to see for ourselves! This is an upscale bar and the decor looks like a sitting library. They take reservations but we didn't have any so be prepared to take your chances at the bar - even on a weekday during lunchtime. We ended up standing by the bar and ordered two old fashion's. Oh my goodness they were SO GOOD. Expensive but worth it. Eventually a seat at the bar did open up so one of us sat and the other stood. We only stayed for one drink but the food people were ordering looked good. And the other drinks looked good too. The bartenders were also friendly. I would say the attire is mixed but mostly smart casual for the daytime. There was a couple visiting their daughter in college who were casually dressed so I really don't think it matters. At least not for the daytime. Money is good whether you're wearing yoga pants or a nice dress .

Wait... but I'm giving two stars. Yes. I arrived and the man at the door looked me up and down, then said, "yeah, we're pretty full." and stood there, hand on the door, still closed. I said "I'm okay with that." he sighed "okay." and finally let me in. Not a nice greeting. I went in and waited at the gorgeous bar, just as cozy as I had hoped and got a drink. I had a negroni and it was meh. I decided to leave because this was not the experience I was hoping for. Cozy setting, Great location, Dismissive rude staff ruined the whole thing. Busy is one thing but rudeness? Not okay.
