I called Audio Express and got a quote, but they didn't sound very confident. Then I called Sound Image and spoke with Will and that changed everything for me. He was friendly, knowledgable, and had that old school "I got you" vibe. Almost a year later, still holding onto the advertisement, I called again and told them I was coming in for the install on my husband's truck (birthday surprise). I got there right when they opened - First Come First Served 10am. I brought in the system, they verified the price, and within 15 minutes my truck was back there. I had my little guy with me, but he was entertained by the free arcade games, and convo with Jon. Couple hours later my truck was done and the CarPlay System was looking clean in our truck! I had to mess with the sound settings a little to get the bump back, but that wasn't too hard...and I like to do it. Bring cash for the best deal, but credit cards are accepted too. I came in explaining I need help in what to do with a classic car I just purchased in which I had professionally installed all new gauges and even an entirely new dashboard. It was a fresh start as I had a brand new opening in a brand new dash for just begging for a brand new radio to be installed. The same for all the speakers which I had all removed so there were open places, again, just waiting for new ones to be installed. Again, I came in at ground zero wanting a fresh start asking for advice on what I need, a recommendation for all new components that meets my listening needs and a quote. I got only the quote. The pricing was extremely high and I had no understanding of why each component was recommended, therefore what value it had. Nothing was written out and I could only keep up with and remember half of what was spinning through my brain. I am sure the employees are very good at what they do, but unless you already know all the nomenclature, slang and have extensive knowledge of stereo systems, you will probably leave saying "let me think about it" and never return . . . as I did. What a shame as I do truly believe this company has the knowledge and experience.

There are plenty of other places around town willing to charge you an arm-and-a-leg for things you don't need. But, if you're looking for high quality service at a very reasonable price as I was, you have definitely found the right place. Joe and his wife are the two most pleasant people you could ever hope to work with. They listen carefully to the work you want done and/or the electrical problem(s) you need fixed and provide exactly those services. They do not try to convince you to do things you do not need or do not need to pay for like other places do. Joe is experienced and knowledgeable, taking in my 60's era classic car installing a new in-dash Retro Sound radio with two rear under deck speakers and a replacement center speaker. He treated my classic car with kid gloves and I could not have been happier when I went to pick it up. He also took a look at my "oh, by the way my horn does not work" issue and took care of that, too. Joe quoted me a very, very fair price, did not try to upsell me and did the work exactly as I wanted done, plus completed everything in the timeframe he said he would. I will never waste my time and especially not my hard earned money with other shops, rather bring all my electrical work to Stereo Joe.

Ryan was quite patient with me as he allowed me to test out the 3 different infotainment systems. After trying them all out, I choose one and was quoted at $923.74 and had to wait a week to get it installed since this is a popular place. The other place I consulted didn't even let me choose what infotainment system I wanted and quoted me at $100 higher than this place. They were able to install it in about 2 hours. The only real issue I've seen with it is that it has more glares than the original system that was in there.

The technician created a basic workaround to get my DS18 BTC-Five Bluetooth receiver working via…read moreaux, but the setup was incomplete and poorly wired. After the install: I lost power to my 12V lighter socket, so I couldn't charge my phone. He mostly likely tapped into the same circuit as the lighter socket, causing power loss (Yeah. He didn't warn me about that before the install!) The audio was also making intermittent Bluetooth pairing failures. I would be driving and then music would stop and start again. Bluetooth phone calls stopped working--only music streamed. The install skipped key components I provided, including the fuse tap, LOC, and amp integration What I learned--and what others should know: The 3.5mm aux jack on the BTC-Five is audio-only and doesn't support calls To restore full functionality, the fuse tap must be moved to a different ACC slot so the lighter circuit isn't interrupted. For Bluetooth calls, you need to use the BTC-Five's RCA outputs and route them through a head unit or amp that supports hands-free calling. If I had known all this upfront, I probably would've skipped the install entirely and just kept using my regular USB-C to 3.5mm Audio Aux Cable Adapter. It was simpler, reliable, and didn't disable anything in my car. No wonder the guy had a weird vibe! I would have given them 5 stars if they had wired correctly, but the job was rushed and sloppy. He didn't create a solution. He created a problem! Now I'm going to have to get my brother to help me fix this. He said the tech most likely installed the tap with only one fuse (for the BTC-Five). Or inserted it backwards, cutting off power to the original circuit. Or used a single-slot tap, which reroutes power entirely to the new device. This experience taught me how to reclaim my install and turn shortcuts into teachable upgrades. If you're integrating amps or planning full audio control, skip the aux hack and wire it properly. I wasn't impressed with this install. What a total waste of money!!!!!!

I told Carlos I need something that can stand up to the elements since I drive the Jeep with her top off at times. He suggested an Alpine stereo and I was game, I liked Alpine decks in my younger days. This upgrade does not have knobs... that is fancy to me. Everything is good, but I need to go back and see if it could be great. I've got Android auto, but Google maps isn't playing the verbal prompts. When I talk to Google she does not respond. I checked the settings on my phone and they look okay so I need the stereo checked out. I also need the center button on my left side steering wheel fixed because it's not working. Right now I'm rating them four stars. In certain to upgrade it once a couple kinks get worked out. It was really nice that Carlos walked me through using my stereo, as technology can be scary as we get older.

I called Streetfighter Motorsports an hour later to tell them the hazard lights were not working, they told me to bring the vehicle back. When I came back to pick up I was told I had to bring it back in two weeks to do the door speakers, tweeters and amp! Went home with a box that had just been stuck in my trunk and slides around. Couldn't wait 2 weeks so I hit them back and they had me bring it back to finish however now the tweeters are in the wrong place and I still didn't get a amp to push my door speakers. Called back to fix the tweeters and be done and they told me they would call back but nothing. I would not recommend if you don't have time to play they game!
