I have a 2011 Jeep Wrangler and the face of my stereo stopped working about a year or two ago. I was getting by using the steering wheel controls. I finally decided I deserved an upgrade. I told Carlos I need something that can stand up to the elements since I drive the Jeep with her top off at times. He suggested an Alpine stereo and I was game, I liked Alpine decks in my younger days. This upgrade does not have knobs... that is fancy to me. Everything is good, but I need to go back and see if it could be great. I've got Android auto, but Google maps isn't playing the verbal prompts. When I talk to Google she does not respond. I checked the settings on my phone and they look okay so I need the stereo checked out. I also need the center button on my left side steering wheel fixed because it's not working. Right now I'm rating them four stars. In certain to upgrade it once a couple kinks get worked out. It was really nice that Carlos walked me through using my stereo, as technology can be scary as we get older. read more

Did an amazing installation on my '23 Lexus ES350. I was concerned about having just anybody do a stereo (subwoofer and amplifier) installation on my 1 year old vehicle and I knew for sure I wasn't going to trust a one dollar installation place. I saw that Cardenal Car Stereo was a JL audio "signature" dealer and that they've been around for decades. The shop is a little dated looking but their work, knowledge, and history in custom car audio is excellent. I was specifically looking for a clean installation where my amplifier, wires, and line output converter would all be hidden or out of site. My project car needed a backup cam. A common problem for DIY backup cameras is getting enough power to the cam. That looked to be a challenge that I wasn't interested in. Cardenal's guy was professional and friendly. He hardly broke a sweat. The backup cam is a wild success and looks BMW stock. I recommend working with these folks when you can. read more

I have a 1996 Corvette and wanted the plug and play Radio control unit installed. I was talked into removing my Bose speakers for newer speakers....big mistake! The new system sounded ok but lacked low end. so I added the sub woofer, Rockford Fosgate. A few months later my engine went and it took a year to get the car repaired, I took out the components and stored them inside my house. I've probably used the new system 20 time at most, and now the sub-woofer rattles real bad. I'm in my 60's so I didn't push the system hard. I went back to Cardinal twice and they were supposed to call me back twice, but did not, and of course the system is out of warranty now. I paid a ton of money for a crap car audio system and no support...really sucks! read more

Came in to install steering wheel control and to clean up mess made by previous installer. They were fast and super friendly. White guy with pony tail installed it and he was very knowledgeable. Helpful and knowledgeable, Tim and his crew directed me to a system that fit my requirements and my car. They took all my concerns into account, now my stereo sounds much better than I expected. The powered subwoofer that replaced my passive one took a load off the unit, and because I listen to a variety of music, the subwoofer knob they suggested is getting lots of use. Plus I now have a blind spot avoidance system, which I wish came with the car. The rear view display is much nicer than before, I'm glad I didn't buy a new car just to upgrade this stuff. read more

These guys rock, I had them install a car stereo in my Grand Cherokee with mic, back up camera, gps navigation, new deck, sub and speakers all around, job was perfect and clean, everything works great, the best part was that after a couple of weeks the speaker in the driver side door was not always working, I called them when I had a day off and they told me to bring it in right then, I brought it in and they immediate took it back and ended up replacing a defective speaker, all done within a half hour, thanks guys read more

Liars, and thieves!!! The sold me Rockfords from 2009 as if they the 2013 model! Knowing nothing about stereos I asked that dynamate be put behind the speakers. The sold me original dynamite from like 1985 which is no good in this heat! I didn't know until tier own install guy told me it was no good. Again, I don't know about stereos, but they installed my head unit amp directly underneath passenger side airbag without securing it. I checked the work the next day and on speaker was already falling out of the bracket! I'm beyond mad as I gave them opportunities to make things right and they just screwed me more.
