A truly immaculate dining experience! The attention to detail was simply excellent. Our waiter, Matthew, was very helpful and ensured that we had an amazing evening. For our appetizers, we had the Rigatoni to share and it was very good. For our entrees, we ordered the Wild Striped Bass, Roasted Salmon, and the Nova Scotia Lobster. All were excellent and very light. For dessert, we ordered the S'mores, Paris - Brest, and the Carmelized Milk Toast. The Carmelized Milk Toast was the table favorite. 2 Spring is a not-so-hidden gem that we will definitely be coming back to! I dined with my family and friend here last night at 7pm Saturday oct 17th. This was the second time we were dining here and were very excited to bring our guest to this restaurant. Unfortunately, it was a horrible experience. First of all the hostess, Lindsay, was extremely rude to us upon arrival. Although I understand that the restaurant cannot guarantee tables, Lindsay was very dismissive of our request to sit upstairs and was rude and short with us and had us wait over 20 minutes outside in the cold until we could be seated. While my family and I stood outside, none of the many waitstaff acknowledged or inquired with us of our needs or checked in on us while we waited, and we had to go back inside for the staff to finally let us know that our table was available. Secondly, our server was very inattentive. We sat down and waited for water and menus for over 10 minutes, our plates were never cleared before our next course arrived, and we had to continue requesting water and wine refills. It seemed like the server was very frazzled and stressed because she was the only server handling all of the upstairs tables while the rest of the waitstaff was outside attending to the outdoor tables, leaving the indoor service sparse and unavailable. Thirdly, our food was not good for many reasons. Our salmon dish was undercooked, the duck was overcooked, and the linguini was too salty; however, the waitstaff hardly checked in with us about our food so rather than wait some more for the service to show that they cared about us, we just ate what we could and left. Overall, I was very disappointed with the service and experience here, even from the moment we stepped into the restaurant, and especially bc we had a guest with us. I'm not sure if I will dine here again, which is unfortunate bc I really do want to support my local restaurants. My friends and I reserved a table for six after enjoying a fabulous birthday dinner here in August, not realizing that Oysterfest would be taking place that weekend. Four days before our dinner, I received a detailed message from the restaurant explaining that parking would be difficult but they had an alternative for everyone attending dinner there that evening. When my friends and I arrived at the parking venue, we were greeted by a kind gentleman who was running a golf cart to and from the restaurant. There was seating and chilled champagne and glasses waiting for us. We enjoyed a smooth ride to the restaurant and were given 5-star treatment from beginning to end. Upon arrival at the restaurant, I was happy to see the executive chef behind the reservation booth. He directed me to our table where we were promptly greeted by our server. I asked if we could have the family style tasting. What followed was perhaps one of the best meals I've had in recent months while dining out, not to mention the best one I've had at this specific restaurant. The menu combines traditional dishes with unexpected enhancements and tweaks that just seem to work. I highly recommend doing a tasting. We had one friend with a seafood allergy, which was easily accommodated, but the rest of us were fine going into this "blind". Our first course included salmon tartare, a chopped salad and the burrata with beets. Who ever flips out over a salad? This group of women did. Our next course included foise gras, charred octopus, and fried chicken. Nothing you'd ever expect. The delicate addition of harisa to the charred octopus added a zing that was totally unexpected and quite tasty. We then experienced an assortment of pastas. I cannot recommend enough the squash tortellini. We had no idea that the meat we were savoring was oxtail. Outstanding! The Casarecce Carbonara boasted a complexity of flavors yet felt just as much like the comfort food the traditional dish is. The secret ingredient, unbeknownst to us, was rabbit. The chef continues to blow my mind with his unique twist on linguini with clams. For our main course, we enjoyed the grilled pork chop, a NY strip steak, halibut and the king salmon with squash risotto. We finished off our evening with coffee and a sampling of desserts. I highly recommend the s'mores. Never have I enjoyed such a complexity of flavors within a single dessert. Beware of the cayenne pepper--it was an expected and quite lovely secret ingredient. 2 Spring is not for picky eaters. While I have every confidence that the chef would accommodate requests, "on the side" and picky eaters would be an affront to the clever and satiating cuisine they provide. I will be returning many more times in the future to see what other tricks they have up their sleeves. I recommend getting a group of diners together and trying their tasting menu. Restaurant was really modern/city-like decor wise, it was small but didn't really feel like it. Food was really good, appetizers, small plates and large plates were all really really good. French fries were regular and dessert was interesting. Drinks were really good, and we loved all the glass/dish wear! Service was also really good, not too uptight and very helpful. They also have a second floor with srating as well. 2 Spring has a very interesting collection of beers, but a lot of different kinds depending on your taste. I ordered the Lobster Hash which was good, my wife ordered an egg meal which she enjoyed as well. My mother in law ordered the Fried Chicken and waffle, a lot of fried chicken and not as much waffle but was also very good apparently. I would reccommend this place. read more

Never again. My wife and I ate here when they first opened. It was ok. Certainly over priced. But ok. Went back the first week in June to pick up some food and eat by the park for my wedding anniversary. As someone mentioned in their recent review. BBQ ribs were a joke. Possibly the worst I ever had. Ketchup and black pepper is not BBQ sauce. Why are you charging that price for half a rack of what turns out to be dog food? Get real. The fish tacos were burnt and dried up. The lobster rolls soggy and bland. I don't know what self respecting chef would push this slop out of their kitchen and call it haute cuisine. I call it garbage. The best part is when I arrive to pick up the food I walk up to the window to pick up $200 of the worst food ever and say hello to the chef who can't be bothered to greet me, his customer. I see the owner/chef walking around talking to people but he's not cooking my food. I know he has a crew but for the price I want the chef. Plates are small and not very filling. We ate brunch at 2 Spring this afternoon and I raced home to share my experience with you! The restaurant is on a corner overlooking the Main Street. It has 2 levels of seating plus an outdoor garden patio, which is opening soon. The space is classy, gorgeous and well appointed. It looks like every single item inside the restaurant was carefully chosen - light fixtures, dishes, water glasses, windows, staircase, the zany picture of President Roosevelt, (are those storm troopers in the background), zinc bar, exposed brick walls, even the Molton Brown soap and hand cream in the bathroom. All of these details add to the ambience and buzz. We started with Salmon Tartare. This was an interesting dish. I loved it! I just wish I was able to identify all the ingredients that made it taste so good! Mike ordered the fried chicken and waffle. Finger licking good! I don't really know if it's acceptable to gnaw on a chicken leg at a fine dining restaurant so I'll confess here, it was me! I ordered the Braised Lamb which sat on a superior slab of toast, which sopped up all the yummy braising sauce. On top of this sat 2 fine fried eggs surrounded by french fries and arugula. I dined here with six wonderful foodie friends on Saturday, 3/3. 2 Spring is a small, beautifully decorated two level restaurant.Parking is valet but street parking should be available, at least before the warm weather arrives. As per my custom, i arrived early to enjoy a nicely made, albeit expensive ($18.00), Grey Goose Vodka Martini. However, as per my fetish, it would have tasted better in a proper martini glass. The restaurant features a large variety of creative cocktails, wine varieties and craft beer selection. The bar area is small, seating about 12 at the most, but the bar and surrounding area is very attractive. The owner has made some great photos of the interior available on Yelp and you should check those out. Though I made the reservation for my group more than two months ago, the hostess did not seat us until 25 minutes after the reserved time. This is a POPULAR place. The hostess seated our group on the second floor. Our waiter (Frank?) was terrific.He offered us the option of a family style tasting menu for the group (normally $75.00) at $65. Boy..... I'm glad we said yes. Before turning to the food, I want to compliment our waiter for his polite and attentive service. Our food orgy commenced with the Chopped Salad & the Kale & Arugula Salad. The former was good. The latter was better.A flurry of appetizers, small plates and pastas followed.Salt Cod Fritters! Salmon Tartare! Linguine with Clams! Fusilli with Veal Sauce! Roasted Mushrooms! Grilled Short Ribs! All dishes were very good but the group agreed that the Salt Cod Fritters were remarkable. Onto the entrees.......and out came large portions of NY Strip Steak, Duck Breast and Roast Chicken. VERY Creamy Mashed Potatoes and a variety of Roasted Vegetables arrived as sides. According to our waiter, the potatoes got their "creaminess" from high fat Europeon butter. All I know is that those potatoes were delicious.Our group crowned the Duck Breast as the winner among entrees with the Roast Chicken a close second. Although our group was, by then, deep in "food coma" territory, we all enjoyed our individualized S' Mores dessert. It was rich, flavorful and enhanced by a moderate sprinkle of cayenne pepper. BOTTOM LINE: The tasting menu at 2 Spring is a tremendous value. You get to sample the genius of the very talented young chef/owner, Jesse Schenker. While it's nice to have an upscale restaurant in Oyster Bay this place really just doesn't do it for me. I'll start with the positives -- The service is very good. Everyone we encountered was polite and accommodating, our drinks were kept full and our food came out quickly and correctly. The actual restaurant is lovely and decorated well. There's a nice atmosphere. Unfortunately, all of my issues are with the actual food. Yes, the prices and high are the portions are small, but this is expected in fine dining and it's on par with other places I've dined. It just didn't blow me away. If I'm paying this much for a meal I want to be impressed. The theme of last night's meal was mustard. The cod fritter tasted overpoweringly like mustard, the brisket croquette tasted only like mustard and I overheard the woman seated next to me complain that her lobster baked potato tasted like mustard. Only one of those things, the croquette, listed mustard as an ingredient on the menu. We also had the shrimp fondue and bucatini which were fine but not outstanding. Overall, I would say if you enjoy fine dining then give this place a try and it may be for you. This was my third visit since it opened (once for brunch and twice for dinner) and I just think there are better options on Long Island. read more

I have been dying to try this place ever since they opened! It was so beautiful inside and the renovations from when it was Cafe Al Dente made the place unrecognizable! There is is an upstairs too, which is where we were seated. You can make reservations but we went for brunch early Saturday afternoon so it wasn't crowded at all! The menu was very small because depending on the time of day (breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner) it varies. The pricing was fair too, especially for how much food you get! I was expecting a smaller portion at a crazy price, but I was very happy with what I paid for the size of the meal! I had the chicken and waffles with honey. It was to die for! The portion was MUCH larger than expected. In fact this dish was an entire half of a chicken with one small waffle and a drizzle of honey. The chicken was incredibly juicy and crispy. The seasoning was a tad bit spicy in a way which blended well with the honey! There was an option for dessert but we were stuffed! We also had drinks (which the selection is very good!). I can't remeber the name of my drink but it was a tequila elderflower drink. Very good and tasty! As for parking, it is slim being that it's in town but it wasn't busy at the time we went so we had no problem. If there's no parking out front there's always parking by the post office. 2 spring is beautifully decorated and is a very clean, rustic place with modern vibe. We had a 9pm reservation and we were seated right away. Ambience:. Trendy upscale. Renovated old building with original features (wood ceiling in 2nd floor, exposed brick, etc). Upon entering, the hostess greets u at a tiny podium and takes ur coat. Very nice service, however there is not enough room for hostess, station, and more than 1 patron. It's poorly designed. The bar is right next to hostess mini-station and it was packed. Libations looked great; many original recipes, which were twists on classic drinks (eg: Oyster Bay Sour). Anyway, we were taken to the 2nd floor loft area with a view of the downstairs. Everything is tasteful and new. The upstairs should be for large parties only; the acoustics were terrible and it was so loud, a normal conversation required shouting! Food:. Top notch. Favorites were branzino. And surprisingly, roasted squash appetizer. It was perfection, I couldn't get enough. The balance of flavor and textures (it was comes slightly aldente, which was unexpected and wonderful) was phenomenal. 10 out of 10. Who knew squash could be succulent? Wowza!! The octopus was OK, a little dry but the pairing with cauliflower was smart; tastes delic. The tuna was excellent, although a bit salty and lacked texture element. The roasted veggies side dish was amazing, I absolutely loved it. My husband and I ordered several apps and A large plate and shared everything. It was just the right amount of food. Dessert of s'mores done so well. It was sweet, salt spicy all wrapped in a little bowl with torched marshmallow topping and ice cream underneath. Really really really really really fantastic. Service:. Very slow. Food came out super fast, like they were trying to rush out of there, but our server was odd and seemed like he didn't know what he was doing. We didn't mind because we know it's a new place and it takes time for staff to settle in. The problem with our server is we waited for several minutes to be initially greeted, then waited awhile to order. Afterwards, our appetizers came before our wine (which server got from the back, not from the bar downstairs, so should be no excuse). Then our food came before he checked on us when we had appetizers. Our meal was over in under an hour, but we waited 25 min for a check. Not great. But again we weren't in a rush, so didn't mind. We had a terrific dinner here tonight. The service was really attentive and nice and the outdoor seating is lovely. We started with margaritas which were great and both had a salmon dish that was perfectly cooked. It had a really delicious salsa of tomatoes and morels with a pistachio cream...different but not too weird. We finished with a fantastic piece of chocolate cake and a great glass of Sicilian wine. After a year of quarantine take-out, sushi and Chinese food (which we love), we wanted to kick it up a few notches and do something special. We got three apps which were unbelievable. You MUST order the fried chicken. You must. The beef tatakki was a close second. Then we each got a few cocktails and an entree. Overall, it was an unbelievable experience. The flavors are so unique and intricate. Every ingredient in every dish serves a purpose-- you can tell these dishes were crafted with such thought and love. If you want nice ambiance, unique flavor profiles and fun, modern dishes- this is the place to go. We recommend sharing a bunch of appetizers so you can try a bunch of things! Like everyone else has pointed to, this is a beautiful restaurant. One of the most beautiful I've seen. Dripping in flowers, with an atrium, outdoor European-esque seating. Lovely location too in Cold Spring Harbor. The waitstaff were so friendly but professional and attentive. The owner also came out and introduced himself. It's a place for a fancy occasion if you're not rich, and if you are rich, well--it's a great place for Tuesday dinner. The prix-fixe price in mid-2022 was around $95, so know before you go. Unfortunately for me and my spouse (we were invited and so didn't choose the restaurant or preview the menu), there are zero--ZERO vegetarian main courses, and really slim pickings on vegetarian options appetizers. Which meant that I ended up having a salad as a main course (wild arugula), which was really heavily salted and just ok, and their olive bread, which was very good but not hot out of the oven. Other high-end restaurants have found some creative ways to incorporate more vegetarian options, I hope that they do as well. read more

Pleasantly surprised by this find in Oyster Bay! Super sleek, yet comfy atmosphere, super professional servers. Food and drinks are very very good! Felt like I was in Manhattan. Ordered the: -mushrooms: hen of the woods with pickled chanterelles. Loved how the hen of the woods was grilled, juxtaposed with the creamy chanterelles is a nice play on texture and taste. -langoustine and crispy pork cheek: this was my favorite. Langoustine was perfectly cooked and loved the crispy pork and foam sauce. -fried oysters: oysters were super big but taste was only okay -branzino: perfectly cooked, crispy skin, super yum -chicken: usually don't order chicken in a restaraunt but this was a super moist, succulent, 72 hr sousvide chicken... nicely marinated but not too salty. Been dying to try this place forever. After seeing summer truffles on their instagram I was like omg we must go now! I even asked if it was a one time thing or all summer, they told me all summer. So our next date night after months (seriously hadn't gone out since April together alone) we planned to come here, all dressed up, yay date night. With a variety of choices you can make in Oyster Bay this is one that I unfortunately regret making for dinner on July 4th for several reasons. Service - Our reservation was for 7:30pm. I called to inform them that I was running 15 minutes late. I was told it wouldn't be an issue but upon arrival I was told by a very rude manager that they couldn't accommodate us. Eventually they were able to seat us in a half empty restaurant indoors (original rez was outdoors due to Covid concerns). Our waitress was dismissive. A few items were no longer available on the menu and when I was indecisive on a change due to the entree served over a cold salad, she said "yeah. I guess people would prefer red snapper over a hot salad" while rolling her eyes. Everyone at my table was uncomfortable. Food - the snapper was very fishy. If it wasn't $39+ dollars I would've been ok. The lamb which was also ordered was very fatty and not appetizing. I also found a hair on the plate which wasn't fun. Drinks - no one came to ask if we wanted drinks until 20 minutes after sitting down and never came back after the first round of drinks. 2 of us were poured wine. The others had to wait another 15 minutes. After that it was ghost town. Bathroom - wait was 15 minutes for 2 bathrooms. 2 in my party decided to just hold it but it wasn't a big issue since we weren't being served anyway. If you're interested in a dismissive wait staff and fish entrees that taste that they've been frozen for a few months then perhaps this place is ok. I'd rather take my business elsewhere. We happened upon this wonderful place yesterday. Its been open for about 2 years now- a much needed restaurant of its type in this town. They really did an incredible job with the interior, simple yet so elegant. We chose to sit outside in their quaint, tasteful outdoor area since the weather was gorgeous. I got the chopped salad with grilled salmon added, incredibly fresh and delicious. My husband got the Lobster Hash, fried egg and hollandaise..simply sublime. The service was excellent as well.
