A friend took me for my birthday to FOG's. The food was exceptional and the atmosphere great! I was pleasantly surprised by the quality in the menu they gave us. We wanted to try something different so my best bud and I went a little different for me anyway I'm a hardcore beef eater! I had the pork belly and scallops- so delicious and nicely presented, she ordered the risotto with salmon. Another perfect dish! I will definitely be back Why the 4 star instead of 5? The service. We sat at the bar, it wasn't busy because of Milford Memories, I saw 3 bartenders or at least 2 and waitstaff, behind the bar, but I had to keep flagging down my bartender for a drink and considering there were only 2 other couples at the bar at this time, this is inexcusable. We left a decent tip but we were so pleased with the food that we would have definitely paid a little extra for good service. The server should be giving the chef some of his tip money as this what we tipped for. We were not asked if we wanted another drink or even if we wanted dessert. Considering he knew it was my birthday since we told him what we were celebrating, I would appreciated a little service. He was not rude, just indifferent. read more

This is a great little bar and restaurant tucked down below the street level. I love the speakeasy atmosphere that this brings to downtown; and the food is terrific. They're very reasonably priced for a meal for two, and the drinks are generous. If you're not an alcoholic, one can get tipsy and walk away with apps, entree, desert and drinks for two for under $50. The wait staff is attentive, the atmosphere is lively (as stated above) and I can't speak highly enough for the chefs. The last time I was here, I got their wonderful bruschetta, a fruity grilled cheese sandwich that was on special, some bread pudding for desert and a cocktail -- everything was delicious. We love 2 FOG's for dinner, drinks and just hanging out. Visited the other night (Thursday night after Christmas) with the in laws and only waited for a bit for a table for four. We have visited other times and got sat right away, it just depends. We enjoyed the spinach dip and soft pretzel apps. Both are favorites of ours. My fiancé had the chili Mac and cheese, which he and I both like a lot. I had the filet which was the first time I had tried one of the newer menu items and it was perfect. So tender! For 22 dollars it is a great choice and is more affordable and better quality than the other steak offerings in the area. It's a smaller place so I wouldn't go with more than four people, but the staff and owners are so hospitable and accommodating I'm sure they could fit in a larger group even during the busier times. I've seen very large groups here as well, I would suggest calling ahead. We're so lucky to have this gem in our neighborhood! read more

Server was very nice, however, we were thoroughly disappointed during this visit. Our drinks were not good, and the place was pretty empty. Of two entrees, one was served lukewarm, but mine was good. Having been here many times in the past, I consider this an old favorite, but after having drinks at the new Silver Pig prior, I found myself hoping ownership here does not get complacent with the good thing that they had started. This place proves that a nice hidden location and excellent cocktails and draft selection can be misleading. First time trying food last nite, severely disappointed. The lobster roll was first up and failed miserably, rubbery, overwhelming taste of dill and bitter lemon, sent it back. The beef tips with detroit zip sauce were another disappointment. Food is usually good. Not equal to the prices however. We had one of the worst service experiences. When the waiter finally came to the table - after a very long wait, he brought one of each menu for six people. He told us to either share them or grab one from another table. What? We have to go from table to table to gather up enough menus for our party? It took 30 minutes to get a beverage! Food came out 80 minutes after we sat down. Salad was served WITH my entre, after I specifically told him I would like the salad first. I'm a slow eater and like to enjoy my food, not be rushed because it all came out together and my entre is now getting cold. It took so long to get our bill back that we thought perhaps he had just left for the night. Not sure we will be going back. read more

What a wonderful hidden gem in downtown Howell! My parents enjoyed dinner here a couple months back and when I was in town they arranged to come here for dinner with them and my fiancé's family. Very cozy atmosphere. Great menu and beer list. Only downside is they don't formally take reservations but we did call ahead to let them know about our group and they set aside a couple tables. When I am back in town, I'd definitely go again! read more

Been there quite a few times and it was very good. My last experience was on 7/25/19 and it was awful. The owners actions were terrible and the way he treated his staff was appalling, I sure would not recommend anyone getting a job there. Thank goodness the friends I brought there on Tuesday said their dinner was good but my ahi tuna was terrible, the rice was cold and no flavor and the broccoli was also cold and wilted. Howell reall yneeded a place like this I am a big fan. I like the jalapeno panini thing it was really good and the steak appetizer was on point. We were seated at the restaurant by two hostesses. We were seated for about 10 minutes looking through the menu and were ready to order. Once we were approached and thought we were going to order the lady just told us that we needed to leave because we had an outside drink. She claimed it was an industry policy but I have been to multiple restaurants that don't claim that at all. It wouldn't have been a problem but I felt as if she made up a bullshit reason to kick us out just because she wanted the money for the drink even tho the melon fest is going on right now and we bought the drink right outside. read more

Been coming here every Monday for the last few weeks. My only complaint is not having known about it sooner. I have had multiple items off the menu and they have all been amazing. My server, Jess is fantastic, friendly and efficient. Always greets me with a smile. I have also been waited on by Tori once and she is a friendly and hard working server as well.
