I was referred by some friends for the manicure on shellac gel, I went on a Saturday the service took almost 40 min just to be seated and the service on my manicure was fast and I was satisfied but the next day one of my nails had chipped. Only 24 hours and it had already chipped and within that same week 3 other nails chipped I couldn't believe it , I paid $25 and still tipped them this is ridiculous . I went to the man who did my nails just to let him know and all he was if I wanted another manicure ? Like really yeah no thanks. Save time and avoid coming here, never had this experience with a nail salon . read more

1st Nails - To top it off they "fixed" one but as you can see with the wrong color and all the nails chipped and it's been about a week - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

I'm sad to be writing this review after a year of good experiences with 1st Nail. I was double charged for my last service with them, my usual $51 gel mani/pedi was $102 when I checked my bank statement. I stopped in after I saw this misunderstanding and showed the employee (I think her brother owns the salon but I could be wrong) the bank statement through my phone and she hurried me away saying, "come back with paper." All I wanted was a credit for the extra funds they charged in the form of a salon credit and was rushed away. I printed out my bank statement as she said was required and brought it in 2 weeks later to show her and now I'm told that it's too late. I explained to her that I'm busy and can't be running to Southpark Meadows nonstop. In any case, it didn't end well. I'm on the phone with my bank as I write this because they refused to make good on their error. One of their other employees stepped up and said, "yeah, our credit card machine sometimes makes mistakes." but again....they aren't looking to help me and told me it's too late. I tried twice to resolve this matter with them kindly and now I have to resort to my bank to rectify the matter. I have been a customer for a while, getting services every month, they recognize me yet want nothing to with me once there is a problem. Next time you get a service here, bring cash! read more

Horrible horrible horrible job. The employee let me leave with blotchy nails and very ridgy and bumpy, not a smooth coat at all. I showed my friends and my BOYFRIEND and they all agreed they were disgusting. Luckily my bf offered to fix my nails since I'm low on $$ right now and can't afford $40x2 to go fix my nails. I even saw her looking at it like hmmm?. But she still let me leave like that. Horrible paint job. I didn't bother saying anything because she didn't speak English. All of us ladies know how useless it is to try to explain sh*t to these nail techs. They don't understand a word you're saying. These ppl obviously do not know what they are doing. I have been there twice to give them s fair chance. The first time I went I asked for shellac and I got SNS bc the guy doesn't speak English and has no idea what I'm saying. I'm so fed up with wasting $40 to get garbage everywhere I go bc of the language barrier. But these ppl really don't know what they are doing it's not just the language barrier. read more

Always go to Great nails and spa on south 1st street, but they were too busy today to fit me in. I try this place because it is close and had decent reviews. My girl did the quickest job on both my nails and toes. Not a high quality job whatsoever. I had to hold the UV light in my lap while she just slapped on some shellac without any precision. 15 second massage of nothing on both legs and arms. The guy who greeted me was great and very nice, however the girl I had needs some practice with customer satisfaction. I will not be going back. A waste of $54 dollars. Needless to say, Great nails and Spa will always have my vote no matter how busy they are. read more

I had just gotten out of work when I decided to get my nails done. I was very disappointed I looked awful Bc I had just gotten off of work and so I guess they didn't care much how my nails came out but they looked horrible and she did a different color that I asked to do my nails so never coming here again read more

Excellent customer service!! Friendly staff, reasonable pricing and clean! Upon arriving they immediately great you with a warm welcome and offer you water, wine or other beverages! Their basic Mani and Pedi both come with scrubs and massages. My favorite place I've tried in Austin! read more

had Nails and toes done for a friends wedding. They did great and were quick! I enjoyed it and will be back! Thanks Tom for the beautiful work you did! read more

They did a great job with the mani/pedi on myself and my husband. Everyone there was very nice, and they took time to make sure we enjoyed ourselves. It is very clean, and they did a great job getting our feet back into good condition after a vacation where we did a lot of walking. I appreciated the free glass of wine while we enjoyed our massage chair and mani/pedi. I called ahead to make an appointment since it was my husband and myself, and the manager(?) was very appreciative. Great job especially for the price. read more

I've gone here a few times now because they only charge $25 for shellac manicures. It's a decent manicure for the most part and I never really have any problems. That is until today. I let a man do my nails (he must be new because I've never soon him there before) and he seemed like he was in a huge rush. They weren't very busy and there was no one waiting for a manicure behind me. He kept pulling my nails out from under the lamp after about 30 second rather than the full 60 and I was nervous. I just kept telling myself that he knew what he was doing and let it go. I paid and tipped him and then left, but before I even got out of southpark meadows one of the nails chipped and I realized that they weren't fully dry. I went back and very nicely showed them the problem but they just acted like I was an idiot. I had to wait 15 mins before anyone would even come over to fix my nails. They fixed them (kind of) and then repainted two. Then the girl who fixed them tried to tell me that there wasn't a top coat to put on. When I told her that I just had one out on before I left she proceeded to argue with me before finally putting one on. I'm sorry but I would rather go elsewhere and pay more. This was a horrible experience read more

They do a decent pedicure. They do seem offended when you choose the basic spa pedicure and not one of the $45 hot stone or honey pedicures though. The massage/scrub portion lasted less than 30 seconds and my feet were wrapped in hot towels for maybe two minutes. The first pedi I got there was amazing- hence my return. But I was far less impressed this time around. It's a clean shop though which is a huge plus for anyone getting a pedicure. It's reasonably priced as well. read more

Its been years since I had acrylic nails, and I had time to spare, so I stopped and went in. The parking is great, the location is fine, considering how Southpark Meadows parking lot can be pretty crazy most of the time. When I arrived, there were only 2 other customers there and 5 or 6 techs, and I told the girl what I wanted (about 3 times due to language barrier) and then she asked me about a pedicure (which I said nothing about) and I told her I didn't need one. Then she wanders off, and I'm left to stand there and choose a color, and wait. Finally one of the guys come over and gets me and we get started. There's not much conversation, and I wasn't offered anything to drink as others have stated. He is still asking a few times if I wanted just acrylic, and I said yes - seemed pretty simple and cut and dry. After I was done, I was put in the back to dry my nails and wasn't sure how long I was supposed to sit there ~ it could have been all day I guess, since the machine never did shut off automatically. Seems like everyone there is just grinding acrylic, conversing in their language, and looking to get the most $$ out of the client. read more

They do very bad ,they don't care if your nail damage or to thin. They want to make that buck only. The only thing I understand set ,shellec, and pedicure. They get mad at tech for giving good advise. read more

I went yesterday to get my nails done and the guy name Tom and he is the only guy there who did my nails started to measure my nails then put a polish at this time another person entered the salon and he left me sitting there so he could attend to that customer without saying anything to me. How rude and unprofessional. He came back to me only to ask me if he had put the polish on. Had he not attended to the other customer he would have known that he had put the polish on. He was in a rush hurting my fingers when he was filing down my nails. I had the powder polish done for the first time and not knowing what to expect I had turn my hand to look at the polish and he grabbed my hand to put it back in front of him. He startled me when he did this I told him he had better not ever grab my hand like that again. I was ready to go off but I sat there with him knowing I was PISSED!! How you gong to grab someone like that? He was also mad and he was rushing the work. My middle finger on my right hand is messed up but I don't want to go back to get it fix because I don't want to be treated the same way as yesterday. I will NEVER EVER go there again. So if you want to get abused by a rude and unprofessional guy name Tom then this is the place to go. read more

I was a little nervous about going here at first. I'm new to the area and in my experience finding a good nail place is hard, so after I checked out several places and the reviews, I decided to give it a shot. As a side note, prior to visiting 1st nails I booked an online appointment at a salon nearby, NJ nails, yet they were closed during their posted open hours. This bit of confusion and bad service led me to 1st Nails. I called ahead to check availability, and they informed me that they could see me immediately. When arrived I was greeted by Cindy and she asked me what service I wanted. I told her I wanted a refill on an acrylic set and she told me to wait (less than 5 min because she was finishing with a customer) then she called me to her station. Initially I told her I wanted a design I saw on their yelp page, a french made with blue and silver color. Then I changed my mind and told her I'd just go with a regular pink and white french. During the service, she did an amazing job and she took care of every single detail. I think they look perfect.  The place itself looks really nice and clean. I am unsure if they were just slow because it was a weekday, but they had 2 people when I got there which was pretty convenient for me since I didn't want to wait too long and I had no appointment. I love my nails. I'd definitely go back another time and possibly get a different design and a pedicure. read more

1st Nails - I love them :) - Nail Salons Near Me - Austin, Texas

See all

I love this place! Me and my beastie have been going here since they opened. They are the best people you can meet. We make a ritual to go everyone other Saturday. We have such good conversation with Jenny, Michael, and Vicky. They make sure that you are happy with the service that they provide. This is first place that cares about me and not just getting paid. 1st Nails is my 1st and only choice! Thank you! read more

Not super happy with this place. They told me i would only have a 20 minute wait but it was 40 mins. The pedicure was decent but I felt rushed. It looks very clean inside an they were very sterile with everything they used. I liked that they had a menu of services but they waited 5 mins before my manicurist came over to give it to me. So basically I decided not to upgrade like I usually would. By the time somebody started my pedicure my water was cold. read more

I've been to 1st Nails about 6 times now. VERY clean and spacious. Agree with what everyone has already said, the owners are very much hands on and customer oriented. Yes, the price is a little more than other places, but I don't feel like I'm packed in like sardines. The tools are prepackaged and opened in front of you. So clean and roomy. I love it - so glad to have a quality nail salon with customer focus in SouthPark! read more

I love this nail salon. They are really into making it a spa experience. It's way cleaner then any of the other salons in the area, and they are WAY nicer. I actually can bring my son with me and all the people working there are so good with him. It's a mom's dream! read more

After getting a full set I returned the next day because I noticed the color was not even. I politely asked the gentleman to please fix them & he said, oh no it will not look good. No matter how many times I asked him to fix them & told him I was not happy it didn't matter. Apparently I paid for nails of his liking not mine. I had to go somewhere else & spent more money to get them fixed. I WILL NEVER RETURN. read more

I recently tried this salon. I got a basic mani and pedi and it was $40 and tipped the lady 25% for taking her time. Yes, they have free drinks and hot towel wraps with a scrub..... But after I got home at 5:30, I went to bed at 10:30 and woke up the next morning with sheet and hair imprints on my nails! I called them and the male owner was friendly and said to come in and he would do it over. He also said he didn't know what was wrong or why it was happening. A lady had come in with the same problem while I was getting my nails done. When I got there, the 3 people working were busy and I waited for 20 minutes! I told him I couldn't wait anymore and he said come back any time during the week. So.... I went back 2 days later, his wife painted my nails and I stayed under the drier for 30 minutes... Just to make sure they dried! I go to bed that night and the same thing happens with imprints on my thumb. The next night I had more imprints from my hair or sheets on all of my nails!! I called them again and talked to the lady who did my nails the second time ( the owner). She said its because of the weather! It was warm when I went the first time and cold the second time and the same thing happened! She offered to fix it again but I said no. Not to mention, as I was drying my nails the first visit, I watched 2 workers "clean" the pedi baths from 2 clients and they just wiped them with their hands and the towel used on the client and sprayed them with water. They didn't use any cleaner or disinfectant! I will not be going to this place again! read more

I had a nail shop/home I went to for 10 years probably. My pedicure lady left without notice, so I have been searching for a pedicure home for a few years now. I'm kinda paranoid about letting just anyone do my toes. A friend referred me to this spot, and they were excellent! I have a new home for my toes! No wait, super clean (shop, chairs, & equipment) & WELL worth my money! Friendly, but not too talkative staff. Since I hadn't had a pedi in months, I treated myself to one of the $45 pedis. I got everything, plus the kitchen sink! Massage (a few times with the lotion & scrub), special foot soak, scrub, hot stones, paraffin & hot towels! This was some special treatment that most places don't do. They took their time, too.... Julie didn't rush through any part of the pedi. I will absolutely be a regular there. I opted for a mani, too, which Andy did, and got the hot towel/scrub/massage treatment on my arms, too! This was such a pleasant, relaxing experience... more than just getting my toes in shape after being neglected for a while. I am picky when it comes to pedis, so if you are too, try this spot out! read more
