The one slouched over on a pedicure chair on her phone is the one who did my pedicure. She said her name is Pham Pham. I asked her a few questions while getting my toes done, and she didn't know the answer because she was just helping here. At the end of my visit, I complained about the color and the quality. Suddenly Pham Pham said she was the owner. And that I could just leave and not pay if I wasn't happy. Customer service horrible. My nails look horrible. They're not shaped right. They are thick as can be. They are bumpy and uneven. I had to show the lady doing my nails several times different things that were wrong with my nails. At the end - I told Pham Pham she had horrible customer service and that's why you have no customers. She said we are about to close. I told her that I've been her for 2 1/2 hours and no one else has walked in. I asked for the required cosmetology certificates with employee photos so I could confirm her name. Pham Pham said they didn't have to have them. I told her. Oh yes you do. Regardless, I paid the $105 bill with a $0 tip. I came outside started writing my review and also called the state of Texas who I couldn't leave a message with. The lady who did my nails came out and gave me $105 cash and started mumbling something I couldn't understand. Probably just to get me the hell out of the front of the building. I didn't ask for my money back. I paid even though the service and quality was bad. To whoever the owner is fix this place up. I have been here since 2:30 pm and it is now 5:20 pm. This establishment is no bueno...avoid it all costs! I came in this past Wednesday for a pedicure and the place was completely dead and only had two workers. The younger lady walked up front and told my friend that she needed to wear a mask which is fine but this worker didn't have a mask on herself so that confused me. She then went to a nail station and put on a mask. While my friend was looking at colors, she asked if we still wanted to get pedis...it almost felt like she or they didn't want to work or didn't want us there. I almost felt like walking out but decided to give it a try. I barely had time to look at what color or pedi package I wanted because I was rushed so I just chose classic pedi and grabbed a polish. This was $30. Surprised they did not try to up sell me to gel as my friend was getting gel. FYI gel was an additional $20 added on to any package. When I sat down in my chair, the older lady that had me did not say hello or talk to me the whole time. She moved my chair back but did not turn on the massage. When I asked if they were going to shave the bottom of my feet, the younger lady responded that's $10 more and I said okay I want it. However, they did not provide this service nor charged me. I was confused the whole time if my lady was going to get around to shaving my feet but she didn't. Now on to the actual polish...what the heck (see pic). For what this place charges, they need to offer better customer service, quality work and drinks. Brian did my fill today as well as the full set on first visit and he does not disappoint. Now, let's talk pedicures....ugh! The young lady did my pedicure today and I'm truly disappointed........ pictures to come and you all know, pictures don't lie. I'm not sure what else to say about this, but absolutely horrible. I'm leaving this review after my 3rd experience at this establishment! I don't like to leave negative reviews bc I try not to spread hate but this place is horrendous. The first time I went in I got a gel color change on my toes and it was an awful job and an awful experience all the way around. There's a young lady that works there with the worst RBF you've ever seen (when you see her you'll know exactly who I'm talking about). Her whole aura just screams "I hate my Job and I hate you." She was the one who did it for me and she had a stank attitude and she was so condescending. God forbid you walk in and ask them to actually do their job. Geesh. I said I would never go back, but... they are in the same shopping center as the salon I work at and it's super convenient for a quick service, plus no one is ever there (RED FLAG duh). The second time I went in and I just needed a color change on my gel mani this time. The last person at another salon did a good job but it wasn't quite the color I needed. Anyway, the young lady was still walking around with her permanent attitude and I had the gentleman help me. Well he told me that he could not help me match the color to the picture I was showing him for reference and that I basically had to choose it for myself. It still wasn't the color I wanted and he clearly didn't give a single F. I was completely over it and almost left a review that time but just promised to never go back there again instead. So... two years later I get a cancellation at work and I need a pedi BAD! I decide to take my chances and give it one more shot considering the convenience. This time I try the older lady. She wasn't as rude but I was so confused and honestly I think she was too. RBF came and snatched the UV thingy from her all rude and I felt kinda bad for her but not really. She didn't do anything that a pedicure consist of. She basically just painted my toes and then kept basting the polish in oil to hide the imperfections at the end. This by far was THE worst pedicure I've had in my ENTIRE LIFE - no cap. Also by the way, the young lady with RBF is fighting with another client the whole time and I couldn't believe how rude she was being; well actually I could but it was still so unreal. I paid $50 for a 2 min lotion massage and to get my toes painted. She took no dead skin off and i had to tell her 3 times to at least shape my nails. I was in and out in 25 min. Smh... the worst. I went in for a simple nail removal with only acetone. The woman that worked on my nails was older with a Bob haircut. I requested only acetone, but she was in a hurry even though I was the only person in the shop so she alternated between the acetone and the nail drill. One of my nails were cut down to the skin and instead of her treating it she decided to try and clip my SKIN off with the nail clippers until I jumped then she mocked me and cut my thumb nail down to the skin out of spite. I was a bit concerned to go here after seeing the mixed reviews, but honestly, I don't understand the negativity. I came in shortly after they opened on a Saturday morning for a gel manicure. I was seating right away. I chose my color from their plentiful selection of gel polishes, and someone began to remove my old gel. Once the gel was removed, another employee came to do my manicure. In spite of multiple broken nails, they were able to even put the length of all of my nails without cutting them all the way down. The manicure was pretty quick, and they did a great job. I'm hesitant to review this hidden gem because it almost seems too good to be true. I had started giving up hope in finding a nail salon near home. I never drive that far down into SPM but I'm so glad I did. My first time there Daisy hooked me up with my first SNS set and a brow wax and I loved them both. After trying to recover, Daisy gave my brows some much needed TLC. Reminder: you can't just let ANYONE touch ya brows! I also got a pedicure- I was basic that day, but man, it felt great. Honestly the best standard pedi I've had. Next time I'll splurge bc I can only imagine. Oh and the chair was everything I needed. I am torn with my rating due to It is positive and negative. First time in I absolutely hated the woman who did my nails.. Don't remember her name. I gave this salon a 2nd chance & went in a 2nd time....Tom did my new set. I was pleasantly happy, the price was cheaper then my primary nail salon & he did it in under an hour. I go in again for my 3rd time....4-6 weeks later to get a pedicure without an appointment... They sat me down in a massage chair, got my feet into the water which by the way burned & they left me there .... They made me wait 55-60 minutes in cold water before getting to me! I was so pissed by 35-40 mins in but I was in a bind.. So I allowed them to do my shellac pedicure that almost cost $50 ... Salons are starting to charge to "cut your nails down" that's an addition $3-5 dollars & the "shellac colors" for a manicure $12-15 additional dollars & $15 - $18 for pedicure.... I could go buy a bottle @ Ulta for $12-15... A whole bottle. Just because another salon put shellac on my toes your going to change me an addition $10 to take off the color as well??.... Plus I am then paying $45-50 for a fresh pedi... Ridiculous. The prices change EVERY TIME I go in here... I deliberately one time wrote down the "prices" on the card he gave me & the next time in the price switched... So, go in TODAY... My 4th time. I made an appointment on a Wednesday afternoon for 1045-11am due to I'm thinking people are at work. There are 4 workers and 6 woman... Totally understaffed. Tom made me wait with an appointment this time and yet again.....Another 30 minutes before he could get to me. Mind you this is just for a fill. He rushes to me to start working on my nails, leaves 2 woman in chairs waiting for pedicures & a woman who's been in the salon for 1-1.5 hours at a chair waiting to get her hands done... He did my fill in a mind blowing 22 minutes with minor errors such as scuffed polish, uneven nails, ect.. I felt his hands shaking to rush through my fill. I don't pay you $30-50 dollars for a shit job & I sure the hell don't tip 20-25% for making me wait 1hr or even for that matter giving me crap work on my hands.... As I was getting my fill a woman was just as pissed as I was from my last visit....she got up and left with tinfoil on her fingers due to she probably almost waited 2 hours... I will not be going my back due to lack of staff, lack of compassion & because I can pay the same damn price at my primary salon and get better quality service and work done on my nails.. Sorry. This is why in Austin, Texas I suggest 3 nail salons to rotate between. So inconsistent. Highly considering taking my fake nails off next month for this reason. ***Lengthy Review*** Unfortunately 1st Nails has failed my expectations for the 3rd and final time. I was a bit upset because of the following situation- 1st Nails opens at 11am on Sundays, after doing my morning Sunday errands I decided to stop by to get a manicure. I showed up about 5 min before opening & decided to wait in my car until I saw the owner or opener unlock the doors and allow customers inside. At 11am I expected for somebody to open up the front door and allow people to come in but there was nobody opening any door at that time. I noticed other customer also waiting in their cars for opening. Around 11:05 I began to call the store to see if somebody was inside and possibly over looked the time etc. There was no answer. I called again and continued to call for the next 5 minutes, again no answer. I saw some customers starting to walk to the front door and wait at the door. 11:20 rolls around and STILL the doors are locked and there's no sign of an employee. It is VERY unprofessional for a shop to state their business hours and not abide by them. You don't see Target or any other business state they open at a specific time & don't even open till the employee decides they want to come in. You especially don't have just 1 opener. Typically there is a team of openers so that way the store can open properly and ensure services are being taken care of for all customers ESPECIALLY on a weekend when you know it's your busiest time. I decided to walk to the front of the building and ask the other patrons that were also waiting if they knew why the shop is closed when business hours state the shop opens at 11am. One of the ladies actually had the personal cell # of either the owner or one of the technicians and called to ask if the shop was going to open or where the employee was at. 11:30 comes and FINALLY an employee shows up rushing to the front door to unlock it and allow us in, she was also exclaiming the excuses she had of why she is late stating "traffic got her". I completely understand things happen and sometimes you have to show up 5min late but to me 30 minutes is ridiculous especially if you are the opener and nobody is able to get services done because you are late. Once the employee let all 6 of us that were waiting inside in she had us sit and asked "who is First" the lady who was First was in side of SNS service which the technician decided to say to her rude and abruptly "I don't know how to do SNS so you will have to wait for someone else to come in and do it for you". As I was saying she was the only technician and there was 6 of us needing services and the tech said she was unsure when the other person was going to be in therefore she didn't know the wait time. At that point I decided to leave and not waste anymore time here. The 3rd and final straw happened today. I wanted to give 1st Nails one more try before I decided I no longer wanted to give them my service. I called at 11:30am to ensure the salon was open especially because of the Easter Holiday. The technician told me they were open and I set an APPOINTMENT for 12:00pm. I got to the salon about 5 min before my appointment time so I did wait and of course they only have 2 techs working on the WEEKEND. I told the tech I made an appt for 12 & he (Tom) told me to wait a few more min due to the fact that yet again another employee did not show up for work that morning so they are short staffed. If you continuously have personnel problems wouldn't you think to possibly fix the problem and let go of those employees or change your business hours to a time that can better accommodate your employees schedule?? I waited until 12:20 and Tom finally got to me, which ended up being a bad nail service when typically he is one of the best. Tom rushed through and he was done with my FILL/GEL set by 12:35. I asked for a cut down and reshape, my nails do need to be short Bc I do type every day for my job. I asked Tom to shape my nails in an almond shape but keep them short he then told me that short almond shape nails are not cute and do not look good the way I like them. (Which is the way I get them all the time but only when he does my nails is where there's an issue with the length/shape I'm requesting.) To accommodate Tom I told him to go ahead and cut them short and instead do an oval shape. Tom then painted my nails so crappy and had me flinging my hands in and out of the UV light source. I chose a light pale pink color and in the pics you can tell he didn't paint them evenly and there are a few empty spaces of paint, you can also see that he did not clean up my cuticle area at all. I did not get the shape I wanted, the length I wanted. The gel is bumpy in some areas and messy. I am not one the complain ever but I am so baffled by the experience I had that I wanted to share. This was my first time going to a nail salon after moving here. I attempted to go to Sandy's VIP nails but the address took me to Southpark Meadows so I decided to try 1st Nails since it was right in front of me. Boy was that a mistake! I've never had such poor/rude service in my life. The place was completely empty which I found odd the Sunday before Christmas but now I know why. A young woman (who never told me her name) did my pedicure. I told her I have ingrown toenails and asked if she could help with that. She said yes, so I said great, please cut back the sides of each toenail. She did the big ones then moved onto the "massage". It was more like a light touch on my legs and didn't even work on my feet. I said nothing thinking she would go back to the other toes. When she got ready to polish I spoke up said I needed all the nails cutback. She acted surprised but went back through on a very basic level. I brought my own base coat, polish, and top coat which she rushed through putting on. As soon as she was done she started slipping my flip flops back on. I told her I wasn't ready for them bc I wanted to sit there awhile and enjoy the chair while my nails dried. She said she had to put them on and shoved them on my feet on top of the toe dividers. I said it was very uncomfortable and asked why I "had to have my shoes on" and she replied if I wanted to wait it was fine and literally ripped them off my feet in an aggressive manner damaging 3 of the toe's polish. I was sitting there in shock not believing she just did that. It felt like she intentionally damaged them and said "don't worry I'll fix it". She fixed one and looked at the other 2 then ignored them. At that point I didn't want her anywhere near me anymore and just fixed them myself. Unbelievable! She had no other client and just went back to playing on her phone. $30 for total crap service!!! To make it even worse one of the employees took a $h!t and stunk up the whole place. I've gone here for about 5-6 years and have always had good service but will admit that depending on who you get I was always either okay or really happy with how my nails looked. Recently, the salon is under new management and Brian the new owner is AMAZING! He not only takes the time/patience to make sure everyone is happy with their nails but also talks to you and informs you on the process the whole time. I love this place! I looked up nails salons on yelp and just randomly chose this one. I got the second type of pedicure $37 which is the most expensive pedicure I have ever gotten! But it was a treat yo self kinda day so I didn't care. I'm not sure how this differs from the $26 pedicure. I got a scrub, massage, and hot wax on the feet. They are a tad bit slow........ But extremely nice so it makes up for it. I was there from 6pm-8pm and the last one in the salon but I wasn't in a rush and didn't mind. After going here after a couple of years I have finally had enough. It's always super hot, and the service has been mediocre, but I kept giving it a chance as a male it's hard for me to have change. This last time after dealing with the nail professional cutting my bug toe nail and it getting infected after wards, and leaving glue on my eye brows after getting them waxed drew the line. I had ingrown toe nails my whole life and the lady offered to get rid of them and I don't know what impelled me to say 'yes' considering all the failed attempts I've gone thru. What wonderful service! My boyfriend and I went there based on recommendation from a friend. I had a pedicure and a full set of nails (I bite my nails down to nothing), apprehensively, my boyfriend got a pedicure (he absolutely loved it and ended up getting a manicure). Tom, Andy and Helen were absolutely amazing! I didn't actually think my nails could ever look like this! Helen completely relieved my boyfriend from his hangnail pain in both big toes. Horrible! Wish I could get my money back. The place needs a good cleaning and the sanitation needs to be implemented here! I look like I have blue bricks on my nails and my toes are painted horrible. The worst nail experience I've had in 15 years. First, I was in and out in 15 minutes. That's with a gel manicure. There's no manicure to it. The lady who did my nails had such long acrylic nails of her own that it made it very difficult for her to do mine. The gel is clumpy and uneven. Definitely not returning. read more
