Wanted to try a new place that was slightly closer than a couple of my other favorites, but won't be returning. Came in as a walk in for a pedicure, front desk ladies were nice and accommodating but the overall service was sub par and lacked effort making it not very competitive compared to the other options in the area. Wasn't offered a beverage throughout, I did ask for a mimosa before we started but he either didn't hear or understand me. During the massages he didn't even touch my feet and had the softest touch, checking the timer every other minute and seemed distracted. I went in for a regular gel manicure and was talked into upgrading to builder gel -- presented as a better long-term investment with no harsh removal, just a refill and color change every few weeks. That sounded great, so I trusted the recommendation and paid $90 for gel removal, builder gel, polish, chrome, and cuticle cleanup. The cuticle flooding, lifting edges, and overall messy application are visible on multiple nails -- especially the thumb and index finger. The edges already look grown out the very next day. For $90, that's not acceptable work. I plan to return for the refill as recommended, but based on what I'm looking at day one, I have to ask -- is this the standard I should expect going forward? For this price, the foundation should be flawless. read more

Tim did my nails and a gentlemen with glasses did my toes, I didn't get to catch his name but he was so courteous and gentle. He took his time which was great! Tim was very efficient and precise, sometimes getting your nails done feels pushy and quick. I really felt relaxed here and like my comfort was essential. They both were also very gentle. read more

I went in to get my nails dipped with a friend. I have had it done couple of times at another salons, and wanted to give this spot a try, since it was closer to my house. Never again. My nails chipped within 5 days after getting it done. And within 1 week, it chipped even more and I tried reaching out to them couple of times with no luck . Got a great hot stone package pedicure. And a free slushie margarita with my service at 10am lol.... I came in wanting an almond shape set for my hands/fingertips... and I left not so satisfied. The lady who did my set, had like 2 or 3 fingers looking off and crooked, I really had to request her to look at the fingers I could tell were misshaped, no problem, she fixed them... another thing is... she did not want to add more stars to my nail design, she told me "you already have 2" .... If I wanted them I don't see why she couldn't add one more to each nail of I'm paying for them.. Maybe it was a good thing though because the result was they ended up coming out feeling sharp from the type of star/glitter sequins used for the design. Normally it would with be encapsulated with the acrylic so the gel top coat can make it nice and shiney and smooth, but I was left with the stars edges feeling bumpy and not smooth, pretty much able to snag my clothes and hair on them each time. Then I noticed the shape of the nails looked really flat, the apex of the nail didnt exist... it wasn't rounded off to have that arched mid point.. really just flat when looking at them from the side... I washed my hands... and that was almost the end.. The lady at the front wanted to see them, she was nice enough to take a closer look and had me sit back down & she tried to get them a bit smoother by using acetone to remove some of the glue, and add an additional gel layer top coat...but they still were poking out. With the hour drive from my place there, and almost $170 later, I would have expected a better result and service. I don't think I'll be returning to this location. This was the third (and final) time I've been here. I've gone in on completely different days and at completely different times, and they always assign me to the same guy. This is the second time in a row where he's cut my thumb cuticle to the point that it bleeds (and it's *always* the same thumb). He always files my nails in a way where they're noticeably crooked and I have to point it out so that they can be fixed, and he always applies the polish way too sloppily and unevenly, and he always manages to get polish directly on my skin. I might as well paint them myself at this point. I initially went back because I assumed that I'd get a different manicurist the next time I'd go in- they have quite a few rows of tables and quite a few people. I didn't request a different one when I was assigned him today because I didn't want to be rude, they were pretty packed, and I chalked up the first time to him maybe having an off day. We all make mistakes sometimes. But no- same thumb. When I went to wrap it in the towel to stop the bleeding, he said "oh, it happens sometimes." According to everyone I know who regularly gets manicures, being cut ever is a sign to run far, far away. It also doesn't look like their files are single-use, and their drills looked dusty, so who knows what bloodborne illness I might contract. read more

I came in for my birthday and I got a pedicure by Tom I think which was very sweet. However I got an attitude from Ann. All I asked for was for a color change and she started almost yelling at the whole salon and came and tried to talk to me like a child. All I asked for was a color change and it's not the first time I see her giving an attitude, she did my sisters nails and the same thing with her attitude. I asked for a basic one color set. I do not recommend this place. Its not my first time going here, first time I was dissatisfied because my daughters gel manicure didn't last a week before it started to chip. That was around when it first opened, well hoping it had gotten better, my daughter and I went a week ago. Her gel polish mani is holding up however my dip powder mani is already chipping. Both of my index polish had chipped and so has my right thumb nail. Which is infuriating. I knew I received a poor mani when my nail tech didnt push my cuticles back or anything else before he started with the dip powder. To add, he was checking his phone the entire time looking at bets. One and done. I thought switching up to new business would be a good idea - wrong. While they take walk ins - couldn't act like it was more of an inconvenience with open seats. I keep my nails low and short for my job but there's a line between short and gone. The original tech just stopped mid appointment and tapped in her male co worker who started finishing my polish but then ran off and came back with cotton balls and antiseptic saying he didn't want me to get an infection on my pinky or thumb for how deep she cut. She never even came back - just moved on to another client and he had to finish it out for her. He apologized one more time but it's 3 days later and it still hurts and is raw. read more

I went in and specifically told the girl at the front (who spoke perfect English) that I wanted a polish change with regular polish and not gel. She ushered me to a guy, and I knew she ignored me when he broke out the oil. Sure enough...when I went to pay, they charged me for gel. I was not happy and told my husband what had transpired in front of her as he was paying. She ignored me yet again! Looking back, I should have refused to pay for gel since I made it clear I wanted regular polish. What makes it worse is that I go back to my sister-in-law's house and tell her what happened, and she says that's exactly why her husband won't go there anymore. I don't know why I keep coming here. It is generally cheap, and around the corner from my house, but I think this is the last time. I have had issues prior, and I just went to leave after being there for three hours and they charged me for soaking my nails off did not soak them off all the way, they left a big chunk of acrylic on my pinky which caused my nail to go off in a completely different angle than the rest of them, I said something after he laid the acrylic down and instead of fixing it he told me he would file it down knowing that it wasn't going to fix it. They charged me to them, which you would think would be part of getting a set--I mean you have to shake them so why is that a separate charge? They charged me extra because they are long and charged me $15 for a very basic nail design that did not include any other materials. I was trying to run out of there but after leaving and looking at the large chunks of acrylic still under my nails this just does not look like $105 job, I went back in. So the guy told me to take my tip back he doesn't want it anyway because I told him this just wasn't acceptable to that. Not just overcharging at this point, but rude too. They can look and see that I have been there since they open, I come in frequently but apparently they do not value my patronage or my money at all they don't have to keep receiving it. read more

Ok so I have been giving this place my business much longer than I should have. During the summer I started going after not having my nails done in a long time. When my nails were finished it looked like I had them for a wk or two with a huge gap on several nails. I kept going and had maybe two good ones. Then I get dude again. Didn't ask me anything. Length, shape, nothing just did the whole nails with no word. Next time I go back I get a different dude who is watching football on his phone while doing my nails. I have visited Square Nails - Kyle twice now, both times as a walk-in. My first visit I was extremely happy with how the nails came out, but the overall experience and atmosphere was meh. The place smells like cigarettes. There's a cute bar but didn't see ANYONE with any drinks. I came back hoping that maybe I just hit them on an off day, and since I was happy with the actual outcome of my nails I gave them another chance... My second visit will be my last. It started with getting the tech who goes out to smoke a cigarette DURING your service. Wow how relaxing and luxurious! They seated me IMMEDIATELY after another guest. Right into a nice warm chair... I understand being busy, but I'd rather wait 5 more minutes for a station to be wiped down. There was nail dust residue all over the chair and station. Drill bits were dirty. Nail files were previously used. Just felt extremely unsanitary and uncomfortable. The tech I had was way more interested in what was playing on the TV rather than my own nails. He cut me a few times with the DIRTY drill bits. He did not ask what shape or length I wanted for my nails. The acrylic is so thin, bumpy, lumpy, and just poorly done. When I go to a cute nail salon I want a luxurious relaxing experience. I did attempt to contact Square Nails before posting this review but was met with no response. read more

On a positive note..My daughter in law who is a regular customer who gets her gel nails done took me in to get a regular manicure while she got her nails done. My First impression was positive I was impressed by the set up of the salon and the selection of colors. My Daughter in law nails turned out beautiful . Unfortunately my experience wasn't as positive. The nail tech working on my manicure was very aggressive with the clipping tool and to my daughter in law surprise she didn't even take the time to put conditioner oil on my cuticles that were pretty red from the trimming tool . My manicure was done in 5 mins immediatly afterwards my fingers looked like I had scraped them. It's been several days and I have had to have my doctor look at my fingers as it seemed my cuticles were bleeding and getting worse. My Doctor confirmed I had an infection starting. Unfortunately I will not be returning to this nail salon personally and they now have lost the business of my Daughter in law . What was supposed to be a positive experience and a nice morning with my daughter in law took a negative turn and doctors appointment. read more

I can't believe I've been to Square Nails a dozen times and have yet to review it! I go for pedicures about every 6-8 weeks and every time has been great. So far I've had the "milk and honey" and "fresh orange" treatments. I've had different pedicurists each time and each one was professional and proficient. Both the treatments mentioned come with the pedicure, the use of quality products, leg and foot massage, hot pack around the neck, paraffin treatment for the feet and a back massage via those wonderful massage chairs!
