I took my sweet neighbor here for a birthday mani & pedi on 11/21 and it was such an awkward experience. The gal working the front desk was so rude, for really no reason...They weren't super busy so it was just really strange. I work in customer service so I'm always sure to be kind to people when I'm on the customer end... it really ruins a fun experience when the customer is nicer than the employee. They also REPEATEDLY kept trying to up charge us to gel when I was very clear that we wanted polish. They asked (no joke) six or seven different times ... it was pretty annoying and ruined what should have been a relaxing, fun experience with a friend. This was always my go to nail salon, but I'm starting to think that I may need to look elsewhere or go back to my old nail tech that's out of the way...my reg nail tech Tim at SQN started out pretty great and over the last six months the quality of his work has been going down. He makes it way too thin on some of the sides,which chip and lift up and then that causes cracks that turn into a broken nail. I know this can happen "sometimes", but I was coming in there sometimes multiple times a week and right after getting a fresh set. You'd think they would comp it, but no. I pay $5 per nail every time it breaks weekly. I could understand if I did something dumb and broke my nail clean off, but customers shouldn't get charged, so close to having them just done and you can clearly see where it's thin and that that's why it cracked. The front desk girl seemed irritated every time I came in for my broken nails. Could have misread her, but I kept thinking maybe you should get irritated with your employees, bc I'm the one having to constantly drive here out of my way for one or two nails all the damn time. I also had a time where when she wasn't there and my nail tech told me $65 when it's always $55 for that specific set that I got quite often. I was paying cash and never saw a receipt. He said $65. I still tipped on that too. I waited to call and speak with the girl at the front bc anytime you have questions,when she isn't there everyone seems to not know anything. Anyways, I called to let her know about the pricing and she tried telling me it was prob bc of the length. I had been getting the exact same length and type of nails for quite some time. Then yesterday they set me up with this older gentleman for a pedi. He was nice, but didn't speak English,so I had to keep asking the nice tech lady next to him to tell him to stop grinding my nails so hard and thin. Finally, he got me good on two of my toes and I had to yank my foot away from him. He was grinding the cuticle/knuckle area and tips of my toes on the skin as well. I had to ask for a different tech and he still tried to come back and grab my foot after he'd been sent away. I pulled my foot back again and said to the front desk girl I'm so tense now, my toes are in pain and you can literally see the pink "meat" through my nails. A pedicure is for relaxing and I'm not relaxed. She said sorry and set me up with another lady, but now my toes hurt and I have to wait a long time for these to grow out before I can get another pedicure. I thought a discount on that service or off of the next one would have been discussed with me, but nope! That would have been good business. She told me the full price. I thinking want to ask for his cosmology license number, bc what he was doing is expected of someone that hasn't been to school. Like you could tell he didn't know what he was doing. I circled the areas of damage. Also, just so y'all know this place charges $20 to do gel on top of your pedi. That's quite extreme compared to everyone else that charges $12. read more

Great experience!!!! My husband, daughter, and I came in for pedicures. I called ahead of time to check wait times and receptionist was quick to answer (both times since I also called day before :)). First impressions when we walked in: busy, bright, and clean. Manicures on left side and pedicures on right side. There are a lot of stations/spots and plenty of staff on hand. All of the staff that we interacted with were kind, attentive, and very courteous. Unfortunately, I didn't catch the name of the lady that helped my husband and daughter, but she was kind and joked around a bit with my husband, asking what color polish he would like. He did the deluxe or luxe and daughter did regular polish. My tech's name was Theo and he did great. I did the orange pedicure. They even offer complimentary drinks (alcoholic as well). I happened upon this nail salon by accident. I asked Siri to find a nail salon near me as I was driving and she led me to Square Nails. It has a 100% 5-star rating. I went to Square Nails for the first time on Tuesday 2/13/24 based on a good recommendation from a friend. I arrived there at 5pm and got seated immediately. The inside is very aesthetically pleasing and clean. My nail technician greeted me with a "how are you" but after that there was no other communication from her. She didn't offer me a drink or even water even despite them having a bar, which was disappointing. When it comes to my nails, I'm very simple with what I get. I always get a squared gel manicure on my natural nails, but given that Valentines Day was the next day, I decided I wanted to add chrome. I showed my nail tech the inspo pic of what I wanted but that I wasn't sure which color would give me this particular look, in the hopes of getting some feedback in what she thought would give me that look. Unfortunately I didn't receive any feedback at all and so I did my best to pick a pink that I thought might give me it. I completely understand that everyone has bad days but my entire time there felt awkward and rushed. I initially wasn't going to write a review but now that it is 2/17/24 (Saturday) and ALL of my nails are lifted and pealing off, I have to. It has only been four days since I got my nails done and they have all started pealing off!! My nails look absolutely horrible now and was not worth $50! I've attached the inspo pic of what I told my nail tech I wanted and then pictures of what I got. I cannot shower without having hair get stuck and pulled from all the lifted polish. Continued review: I came in to get my fill & my SharkWeek nails done which I booked with Jenny again but this time an earlier appointment as I wanted to give her enough time to do my art! When I walked in she was with another client so receptionist asked if I wanted to do my pedi first. I said that was fine as long as Jenny still has time for my nails. She said yes, so I went to do my pedi first! Almost done with my pedi I see another client that had just walled in be seated with Jenny! I figured she would be done and knew I was waiting for her. Nope I was wrong for assuming! She came up to me when she finished the second client to tell me that she needed to leave because her son called her. I completely understood as a I am a mom or 2 kids. So I waited patiently for them to find another nail tech to do my nails. They sat me in a chair to wait for a tech. After being there for over 2 hours with only having a pedi done someone finally came to help me, a gentleman not sure of his name but he apologized multiple times for me waiting so long. That was kind of him to do. He then asked me about my nails and what I wanted done. I showed him a photo and he he said okay perfect! Started working on my nails and then out of nowhere he got up and left. I thought that was strange so I sat there another 40mins & now almost closing time. I patiently waited as I needed my nails done before flying out of town the next Morning otherwise I would have walked out at this point! Finally the manager of the location came to help me. He was very quiet did not talk much & did not offer an apology, but I didn't even care at this point as I just needed to get my nails done so I could leave & go eat dinner with my daughter and prepare for my trip. My nails turned out AMAZING but too long for me to wait over 3 hours when I had an appointment originally! After a week & a half one of my nails broke off completely! I was devastated because I loved my sharkweek nails. Anyway I flew back into town went straight to get it fixed. The gentleman was not there and no one was available to duplicate the art so I had to either wait until he came in the next day or just do a fill and get rid of my art! I decided Since I had a meeting the next morning to just do the fill instead or looking crazy with a missing nail all to keep my shark art lol. So I decided to just do my fill. The lady who they sat me with was shaking like crazy couldn't keep her hands still ended up cutting my finger with the drill which was my worst fear. She used the wrong shade of nude acrylic powder & decided she had to paint nude gel color over my nails to hide the fact that she used the wrong color. These were the worst nails I have ever had. They were uneven had chunks of acrylic under the polish and just so horrible looking! Not only that but as soon as I got home to look at them in outdoor lighting I noticed acrylic missing from the sides of two nails on the tips. I called to let them know I needed to come back to get them fixed however they were about to close so I had to wait to come in then next day. I had meetings all day the next day so I let her know I had to wait until the day after tomorrow which is now today! She said that was fine & they would fix them. Today: I arrived around 9:45 am no receptionist no manager but a tech came to the front to greet me. I explained what had happened & she instantly changed her attitude and said okay come with me. She started my nails and did not say a word to me. After she finished I thanked her and walked up to ask for change to tip her. The receptionist and manager finally had come in but yet decided to tell me I needed to pay to get my nails redone! WHAT?!? I was just here 2 days ago and was told to come in to get my nails fixed which I paid over $50 for already! She said manager (sitting in the chair next to us not even acknowledging me) said to charge you! I asked her if he knew the situation & she said I had to pay another $40! I paid, tipped & left! (P.S. Bumps on my redone nails & lifting!) WILL NEVER RETURN! BEWARE & GOOD LUCK! read more

I literally had to walk out. Their service was so bad. The other reviews about the staff being snobby and unfriendly are completely accurate. The front desk receptionist is a disrespectful person, with no regard for her customers time, requests, or feelings. I've seen 4 people there and honestly they were all wonderful, but his last time was a complete nightmare and I will not be going back. How they handled my nail techs baffling difficulty understanding my request, and her subsequent hissy fit was very telling. And frankly if you have a concern they take it as an insult and become defensive no matter how politely you request something. I've never been treated that poorly. When I asked for her to spend time on a specific thing, the nail tech got angry because she didn't understand that I was simply asking her to do my cuticles and callus remover, like every other person does. She got angry when I asked if the receptionist could help translate. After she gave 4 other people an earful about the situation (a vibe that transcends language), the receptionist came over and proceeded to loudly insult me in front of a room full of people. I don't understand the humiliation tactics. All I was trying to do was get my nails done like every other time. I'm not sure what happened or why that was so hard, but I just want to caution anyone- even if you request to book with a certain person at a certain time, they don't care about your time. And the staff I dealt with very clearly did not give a flying F about my time or satisfaction. They demanded payment after that?? Are you kidding me? That lack of professionalism is a problem, but even bigger is the lack of empathy or even basic dignity that somehow was too much for them to extend. At the end of the day I waited half an hour for an appt BOOKED in advance, was flippantly told that didn't guarantee I would be seen at that time, with no acknowledgment for interruption of my time or schedule, was treated like garbage for asking the person to actually finish something that was part of the package I selected, and was told they couldn't finish my service (full set) because they were closing. i.e. the person they put me with took so long that they had to cancel the other half of my appointment. No regard for how much trouble it was for me to make time for this and do the hour long commute. Literally none. Super disappointing. Hopefully the receptionist learns how to treat customers because no matter how much I appreciated the people who had worked on my nails, she completely drove me away with her condescending tone. Also he hit my cuticle multiple times with the drill he also kept grabbing my hand aggressively. The end result was not what I wanted, my nail polish was on my cuticle. She put on a very thick coat of polish and didn't really smooth it out well. Had to ask her a few times to make sure she got the entire side of my mail. And she did not polish the ends. I really wanted to love this place because it is so close to my house and it is a brand new location. I waited for over 30 minutes for my appointment. Seems like a good idea to not schedule people first thing in the morning as staff does not start working until doors are opened. The person at the front desk seated me at the first desk by the door. The door was left cracked for majority of my visit. It was below 40 degrees, raining and freezing. The ladies that provided my manicure and pedicure did a good job but seemed rushed from management. Today, I received the worst treatment I've ever received in a nail salon. I had just finished getting my nails done, and asked for a gel polish on my toes. Julia (pictured below) began painting when the gel color was the wrong one, I asked for it to be switched to the correct one (to match my nails). Julia then rolled her eyes and grabbed the bottle and slammed it down. She then proceed to say how I chose the wrong color and now she has to re do it. Another customer noted how rude she was being. She offered no solution and began aggressively taking the color off. After the rude attitude and the way she was speaking to me. I asked to just have the gel polish removed and I didn't want to continue with my toes being painted. She was rude, began to talk to me like I was stupid, and belittle me all over a nail polish color.
